"Yup, that'd be her", G'han confirmed, a smile beaming on his face. He shook his head and laughed, however. "Sorry, you'll be getting my sloppy seconds. But yeah, go for it I say", G'han spoke between chuckles. Well it was true, G'han did have her first. It was sad the way things turned out, but G'han wasn't looking behind him anymore. He was moving along and Rhia was just another person to him. Albeit a person who was the mother of his twins and a girl he considered off limits now. Though to be honest, he wouldn't mind some friends with benifits relationship going on there.
Then he had to wonder if him and Akki had that kind of relationship now. He thought of this while unnoticingly rubbing his lips lightly with his fingertips. He mentally laughed, they hadn't even talked about the ordeal yet. Maybe it was that much of a shock to her. Wait, did this mean things were awkward between them now? G'han didn't think so and he didn't think it'd be that way for Akki either. But there were times when she showed she was a girl. G'han shook off the thought, knowing Akki she was getting into too much trouble to currently worry about talking this out. She didn't seem to be too good that that kind of stuff anyway. He figured she would get around to it when she thought about it.
"I've been here for awhile. I transferred to Telgar for a few turns, but I'm back for good now. This is the one place I would call home. It's good to be back here", G'han answered, then sighed as he looked around nastalgicly.
Ah, Rasth's. That was the one. Gerenanth confirmed, finally recalling the girl whom G'han fancied. For G'han, that meant he was slightly interested in her more than other potential girls.

“Gah. Now I can’t go after her.” V’ian complained with a snort. “If I did hook up with her, the image of you saying ‘Sloppy seconds’ will just haunt me the entire time.” He said with a sad shake of his head. “That’s like your weyrmate telling you you are bad in bed on your birthing day.” He paused, “Not saying that has happened to me.” He didn’t want G’han to think that he failed in bed. No guy wanted someone to think that!
V’ian took note that G’han had a bronze while Rhia had a brown. So they weren’t weyrmates because G’han won a flight but because of choice. V’ian frowned slightly, feeling bad for G’han. They were no longer weyrmates so clearly something had happened there.
“Telgar? I’ve been there a few times.” V’ian grinned, recalling the place. He lowered his voice. “Awful busy place. Rather strict too.” He recalled, remembering seeing the dragons and riders perform drill after drill. “Too many memories to give up here I’m guessing.” V’ian said with a grin. “Woah. That came out creepishly sentimental.”
She seemed rather nice. But I rather not fight you for her. Waeith confessed.

G'han tried to hold in his laughter, but couldn't, he held his sides as a 'Pffffft' noise came out followed by a hardy laugh. G'han slapped his knee and tried to regain his composure. "You need to think of what you say before you say it. I would have gotten the wrong impression", G'han said inbetween chuckles. He put a hand on V'ian's shoulder and regained his composure. "I can see how you and Akki are related in that regard", G'han commented as he removed the hand and rested both hands in his pockets.
"Yeah, Telgar is pretty uptight. Too uptight for me. It got to Gerenanth sure enough though. He's become an arrogant little pain ever since and he's constantly telling me I should have an attitude of a bronzerider", G'han responded. He then leaned in to V'ian and whispered back. "But between you and me. An attitude like that is a real pain and too stiff for my liking", he whispered. He then straightened up and lightly slapped V'ian's back in play. "I like to think I'm pretty unique as far as bronzeriders go", he admitted.
Oh? Gerenanth seemed rather confused by the other bronze admitting such a thing. If it were a queen, it was all business for Gerenanth and he would surely take offense to any mention of competition. But with greens it was more like pleasure for the bronze. To the arrogant bronze, there wasn't as much at stake. I assume you have your attention on another green? Is it Priath that you mentioned earlier? Perhaps that is why you were so curious to ask? Gerenanth tried his hand at perception, sometimes it worked and other times it failed miserably.

V’ian scratched at the back lazily, a small grin playing on his face. “Yeah, soon as that slipped out of my mouth I realized that it could be taken out of context.” He admitted with a short laugh. He liked G’han already; the man had some sort of charismatic personality. Did he approve of G’han and his sister more or less hooking up? Well, he didn’t even want to think about that again for a while. He wondered if the conversation taking place meant he could consider G’han his first male friend that he made at Dark Moon. He hadn’t really met many people since the clean up which he was disappointed about, he liked to consider himself a rather social person.
“Ahhh, the curse of bronzes.” V’ian laughed as he sat on the ground and laid on his back, hands tucked away behind his head as a makeshift pillow. “I think Pern has enough arrogant bronzeriders around.” He said with a snort, it was hard to tell if it was with amusement or disgust. “I try to avoid making eye contact with bronzeriders. One time I did and he thought I was challenging him. It was absolutely horrid.” He said as he shuddered from the memory. The man was a muscled beast; it was obvious that V’ian would have lost quickly if they fought. “We can just start a club for more laidback bronzeriders. I like to think we are much more pleasant.”
Haha! I suppose it seems that what I said could be taken that way. Waeith said, a chortle escaping from him. I was more thinking that if we fought, I would lose. I have no trouble admitting this. He replied, carefully skirting around the question involving Priath. Waeith wanted to be careful with what he said regarding the female dragons at Dark Moon. There was the chance of him saying something to a competitive dragon who regarded a green as his and just his. Waeith wanted to avoid any unneeded conflict.

Tanwen had pulled her arm back to throw another stone when Dicar gave his next comment. She paused in her throw to glance over to him, then looked back to the water and tossed the stone out to skitter across the surface. "Memories can be funny like that," she said. "You always think you'd like to just toss out the bad ones, but the way I figure it..."
She picked up a stone and turned it over in her hand for a few moments, staring at it as if it held some sort of secret. Then she shrugged, "Well, those ones that you wanna toss out, you might only realize how much you want to keep them once they're gone." Tanwen brought her hand back and then hurled the next stone out across the water. She looked over to Dicar. "Not that I've lost any to know what I'm talking about, but whatever. I'm just saying it's a dimglow thing to go smacking your head against a rock just because some stupid girl pulled her shirt down a little too low." She looked back to her stones to pick another. "I mean really, you're a candidate, grow up a little." What, he thought she hadn't been paying attention? Tanwen could be pretty observant.

Vaelryn thought over her suggestion for a moment. "That's an awful small incident te be gettin a lifelong fear over," he said in regards to Dicar maybe having been hit with a plate as a child. He nodded in agreement about the 'extra time' bit, it really had been worth it. Being able to say goodbye properly had been just what he needed to come to terms with being whisked away from his home for candidacy. "They're not so special," he said, giving her a smile to the bit about vintyr halls. "Just a bunch of winerys and vine fields." Of course, he thought they were wonderful, but he was a bit biased.
He listened to the rest of what she said, smiling a bit at her secondary plan of being a chef. When she turned the question on him, he furrowed his eyebrows for a moment. "Ach," he said, "I've never givin it much thought before. I always expected te be followin in me father's footsteps..." Vaelryn crossed his arms and rested one hand on his chin. After a moment or so he said, "Well, I suppose I'd like te be a runner. Travelin all over would be quite interstin, and I wouldn't mind bringin people their messages." Vaelryn smiled and looked back to Faine, giving a small shrug, "But if that didn't work out, I wouldn't mind bein a cook too."

Dicar had remained silent, looking away, as he listened to Tanwen. To be honest, her voice was unpleasant to him. Many people had such unpleasant voices though, because Dicar didn't like people. He had a sort of 'hate the world' attitude that he didn't necessarily pride himself in. Sometimes he wished he didn't have it, but he was a creature of habit stuck with an attitude that had been conditioned for many turns. Dicar, oddly enough, did not get offended when the girl mentioned he should grow up. "Maybe", was all he said, with no emotion. That was his usual, regular tone. He had calmed himself now, and he wasn't really looking for a fight either.
There was a long pause between them. Dicar didn't like talking to people, but curiousity had actually gotten to him. He had something he wanted to ask her, and maybe the answer would shed a little more light for him. "Are there any memories you wished you didn't have?", he asked, emotionless as before and still looking away. The girl could choose to answer him if she wished, but Dicar half expected her to snap at him for being so bold as to ask such a thing. After all, Dicar had a tendancy to snap at people he asked questions to. He half expected it from others as well.

"Yeah, the ones at Telgar were too uptight for my tastes. They were far too concerned about themselves, how they looked, what positions they held, what women the could get. It was just a pain having to be around them. Unfortunantly Gerenanth wasn't of the same mind as myself. He took to Telgar well", G'han explained his experience with bronzeriders at Telgar.
G'han chuckled as he sat on the ground next to V'ian. "I think we should start such a club. We'll become famous all around for our laid back style. Then those other bronzeriders will envy us. There's a fine bit of irony in all that", G'han agreed with the idea. Hey, if he could make those other typical bronzeriders jealous in the process? Go them!
I am not so intimidating as to put you off, am I? I wouldn't want to scare away friendly competition over greens. This was also part of the fun for Gerenanth. He enjoyed friendly competition, especially in something like a greenflight. Despite how serious it could get when caught up in dragonlust. But for the bronze, those sorts of flights didn't hold the same meaning as a queen flight.

Well he seemed friendly. And with that sarcastic thought, Tanwen figured she probably didn't seem to mind him so much because he seemed to be sort of like her. He had that same "get away from me now or I am have to kick your throat in" air about him. Too bad for him, she wasn't intimidated by that air.
She lifted a hand to throw her next rock when his question came out, halting her with her arm half extended. Tanwen let her arm fall, then stared quietly out at the water for a moment. Memories from her childhood flashed through her mind, back when her hair had been a more platinum blond color instead of the strawberry-blond it was now. She recalled a boy with much the same hair color, her best friend and "brother", as she called him back then - even though they had no relation between each other. She remembered him smiling, and as he was the day he said goodbye. She remembered him abandoning her, and her fist clenched tightly around the stone - hard enough that a thin trickle of blood came over the edge of her hand from the sharp flat stone held in her fingers. Her jaw tightened at the memory, then she lifted her hand, loosened her grip, and hurled the stone out across the water. It sputtered against the surface without skipping, and 'thunked' under the water.
"No," she said finally, "I don't want any of them gone."[/size]

Dicar didn't mind the pause at all. At first, he thought she wouldn't answer his question. Dicar didn't really mind, after all he didn't demand her to answer the question. So he drew some form of comfort in the silence between question and answer. If it was one thing Dicar liked, it was silence. To him, such a thing was tranquil and it calmed him.
That's why Dicar came out here in the first place. He certainly wasn't soaking up day for his body. No, he wanted nice scenery and a quiet day to go with it. Too bad Faine ruined that for him. Then with her came another. Then in her ignorance, she practically flashed him. Dicar no longer freaked out about the thought. He showed anger out of shock, and anger was a good way to hide his true feelings. But now that he could look back on it, he saw it as a foolish act. It was downright stupid to do such a thing.
His thoughts were broken up as he heard the rock hit the water. He noticed it didn't skip, as she had been doing before. It hit the water once and went under. Dicar decided to glance back to her. He looked at the hand that had once held the stone, and noticed a bit of blood. His face showed no concern, or other emotion. He simply stared at her. The answer was a bit of a surprise to him, especially taking in the actions before the words. "I see", Dicar answered simply, and emotionless. But was he referring to what he saw, or answering to what she had said? Dicar would have followed through with "You and I are different then", but he didn't like chatty people so he didn't really like to be that way himself. So he would only say what he felt was necessary. It's not like she reversed the question on him anyway.

A blush tinged the top of Faine’s ears. She was thoroughly hoping that this plate rumor she just created would never get back to Dicar. She doubted that he would even care if it did – He seemed not to concerned about what people thought – but knew she would feel horribly guilty and would spend days apologizing loudly to him. She closed her eyes, picturing vine field after vine field in her mind. “It sounds a lot more fun then the fields at Kalanre. They were pretty boring.” She said with a laugh, opening her eyes. Maybe one day she would visit a vintyr hall, they sounded like they could be interesting. She would just have to make sure her hands were kept to herself.
She bobbed her head up and down, carefully listening to Vaelryn’s words. The idea of runner was an interesting concept. “I would hate to deliver a sad message, or a message saying ‘I hate you’.” Faine said, frowning a bit as she thought about it. “I’d be worried about someone getting mad at the messenger!” She admitted with a grin. She liked to smile a lot, she thought they were infectious. It was hard to be grumpy when people were flashing smiles at you constantly. She clapped her hands together, obviously thrilled about some idea that popped into her head. “We could be some wicked cooking duo! People would come across Pern to eat our delicious food.”
----
“What? Bronzeriders can get women by using their rank? Well shard that, I wish I knew sooner!” V’ian as he shook his head mournfully, his eyes glittering with amusement. Everyone knew that some women would go for a man just because of his rank. He tried to avoid those though. He didn’t want to be given a bad reputation. Or someone’s sloppy tenths, that would just be gross. He looked over at Gerenanth, eyeing the bronze carefully. “You can take the dragon out of Telgar, but you can’t get Telgar out of the dragon.” He said with a slight snort. He was glad that Waeith didn’t seem to be a cocky bronze, V’ian wasn’t quite sure if he could handle that.
He motioned to G’han and himself. “So are we over the awkward Akki situation then? Because I think we’re managing to have a normal conversation!” He exclaimed with a grin and a sigh. He really didn’t want to become the crazy protective brother and start pummeling G’han for putting the moves on his sister. Then again, he was also pretty sure his sister put the moves on him first. He blew some of the hair out of his face, looking across the lake and taking note of some candidates, he presumed. “People think that we’re weak because we’re so laidback. And then they’ll attack us and wham! We’ll take them down so fast.” V’ian said as he punched a fist into the palm of his other hand.
Is your personality intimidating? I would say no. However, your size? Well, yes. Waeith had completely noticed the fact that Gerenanth was slightly larger then him. Wasn’t there some rule that you should stick to dragons your own size? He liked that rule. Waeith chortled, I doubt that competition is so friendly when in the skies. Even close dragons took a snap at each other when joining in a flight. Waeith never really differed between green and gold flights. To him, they were almost the same. He was afraid that if he treated a green with less importance, she would take offence and he would end up feeling bad. This was why he was not like other bronzes. He really was a blue or green wrapped in a bronze hide.

"Trust me, I've tried. And I've been unsuccessful", G'han added with a roll of his eyes. It had been a fight since the end of their stay at Telgar, and G'han had gained no ground. Gerenanth truely flourished into his own and he was staying that way. G'han had given up for the most part, but he tried to correct when necessary.
G'han smiled over at V'ian and shook his head with a snort. "The wrong kind of girls, man. Trust me, I've had some trying to knock my door down. Those are the kind you can get diseases from", the bronzerider advised his fellow bronzerider, but he also left his tone comical as usual. G'han didn't like to be serious, and he tried to reduce it as much as possible.
He bursted out laughing again though when V'ian mentioned his sister. "We're over it if you stop bringing it up. Unless you keep wanting to hear how great a kisser she is", G'han warned V'ian, but through laughter. "Though", he added, "it still surprises me how good she was. I think it only ever shocks me when I think of Akki being a girl". It was true, G'han rarely thought of Akki being of the female persuasion. "She's always been my best friend. Like a clone. It's really hard to think of her in such ways", he continued. He would continue further, but he felt he'd spare V'ian.
Still, he remained silently thoughtful. Akki, despite who she was and what she did, always seemed to be in the brightest spots of his memories. The fact it was her that he kissed was some sort of irony. G'han was probably the last person V'ian would have to play big brother with, because every time G'han thought about that kiss he could honestly only laugh.
Perhaps not, but in some instances I welcome competition. It is good that a bronze pit himself against another and see how he measures up. If nothing else, it helps to improve. You need not worry about size. I think what determines such things is determination. Gerenanth stretched his wings a bit in pride, proud of his own words. He believed them too. Gerenanth had been a small bronze for so long, and it was because of it that he tried even harder. It had gotten him places too. If you're after Priath, I have no quarrel with you. She is a fine green, worthy of a bronze's attention.

When Dicar's comment didn't have anythign to follow, Tanwen crouched to pick her last stone. She looked it over in her hand; she'd been picking it last, and had been running out of very flat stones where she'd been looking. Now that she looked at it again, it didn't look very flat, at least not flat enough to skip very far. Tanwen shrugged, "I think it depends on what you get out of the memories. If you don't learn anything from a memory, or if nothing changes...then there's really no point in keeping it. Bad, or good.
"I've always thought it's the worst memories that make you strongest." Instead of skipping the rock she threw it up into the air. Before it came back down she lifted a foot and spun around swiftly, aiming a kick at the stone and sending it hurtling out across the water that way. The entire movement probably only took a few seconds, though she held her foot halfway in the air for a moment afterwards, watching as the rock actually did skip once before falling in anyway. "Huh," she observed, bringing her foot back down to the ground. It had just been random, she didn't think the rock would have skipped even if she'd thrown it, but the whole 'kick a rock to skip it' action now seemed like it might actually be fun to keep developing.

"I don't think the messages are usually like that. The messages me father usually gets are more business than personal." Vaelryn smiled at her comment about the chef career, and nodded in reply. "I was usually busy with Vintyr work, but sometimes me mother would let me help her in the kitchen. Cookin is pretty fun, I wouldn't mind tryin some recipes with you."
[Oh lord that post was so short for Vaelryn xD; I'm sorrryyy]

"It won't change", Dicar said. The tone sounded a bit sad, but with Dicar's usual plain tone it was to pick out. It was pretty obvious, however, that there was atleast one memory Dicar didn't want to hold on to. From his reaction, however, it seemed as though he had been unsuccessful in letting it go.
Dicar really didn't wish to give away the memory anyway. Though Dicar wasn't the type to give anything away unless he was asked, and even then it was up to him whether he felt like telling. To be honest, though, Dicar never really let anyone in on what it was he wanted to let go of. That was just because he never had any really close friends. As far as the candidate was concerned, he had no friends at all. Dicar didn't seem all that bothered about being friendless though. However, Dicar was good at keeping things bottled up or hidden away, and even greater was he at replacing it with a type of attitude that would keep pushing people away.
