Nobody could deny that today was a hot day. Rukbat was high in the sky, its rays warmed the land underneath it. The ground had a slight burning sensation if the bottom of your bare feet stood in one place for too long. It wasn't exactly an unpleasant feeling, it was nice to have a decent day, especially after spending so long cleaning up the Weyr. Faine came after the clean up and the masquerade and she felt slightly bad about it, she thought that she could have been usefel for the cleaning. Tackling germs was her forte.
She had found where the candidates were temporarily staying, put away all her items - it was easy since she didn't have very much - and walked around for a while. She was pretty sure she had, for the most part, the layout of Dark Moon memorized. That was yesterday. Today she was sitting by the lake, squishing the wet sand between her toes, as cliched as that may seem. The water was cold, close to freezing but in this heat, that temperature was welcoming. She had already been swimming in the lake and was now trying to dry her hair. She found out today that when she swam she had to take three gulps of air before slipping under the waters surface. It was odd, trying something and then having it set off part of her compulsive disorder. It often caused her to wonder what else would set it off. If she Impressed, would she have to oil her dragon three times? Oh, how time consuming that would be!
Faine was hoping that others would take today to visit Lake Tyuru, even if for just a little bit. She had met very few people since she came to Dark Moon, only four in fact, and was looking forward to the idea of meeting more.
Ooc|| I say we don't worry about posting order this time kiddywinks. That way we can avoid having to wait a long time for just one person to post~ c:

Dicar had decided to lounge by the lake. He didn't really desire to swim, just to enjoy the day. But he did prepare to get wet, just in case. No shirt and some trousers he had cut off at the knees were what he considered work clothes during the summer, at the very least he could afford to mess it up.
Faine had beaten him to the lake, but he really didn't take notice. She was swimming when he decided to spread an old towel on the hot ground and lay on it. The scrap of cloth wrapped around his head was now lowered over his eyes to keep out the sun. When he felt the heat on his skin, he gave a second thought to taking a dip in the lake. He didn't want to burn to a crisp out here after all.
Moments after he had settled, he heard a noise coming from the lake, he peered out from under the scrap of cloth resting over his eyes to see Faine coming out the water. Oh joy, the plate weirdo from awhile back. He looked over Faine to see if she had any odd thing in her hands this time. To his satisfaction, she didn't have anything. He pulled the cloth back over his eyes, deciding there might not be so much trouble this time since she wasn't holding some odd object. Which was fine by him, the less hassle the better. He wasn't going to be wasting another day trying to help this girl out again. After all, last time he did so a fight broke out.
Then he thought of that other troublesome girl, Tieler was it? He had a strong distaste for her. He usually didn't pick out certain people to dislike more than another, he usually disliked everyone equally. But this girl was a troublemaker and he knew that would affect him directly. "Pah", he made the noise aloud, the thought seemed to leave a bad taste in his mouth. Why was this weyr filled with so many troublesome people? And why did he have to run into all of them? He had to wonder if another weyr would be any better for him.

Like Dicar, Faine was also wearing what could be considered ‘frumpy’ clothes. She didn’t want to get her nicer clothes wet, these she could afford too. She ran her fingers through her red hair, shaking it slightly so the droplets of water could fall off. With this heat, she doubted that it would take very long for her to fully dry. Faine looked up when a noise (It sounded like a ‘Pah’. Was that a word? She’d have to ask later on) and smiled when she saw Dicar. She had the feeling that her fellow candidate didn’t like her very much. It didn’t seem like he hated her, just simply didn’t care for her. She couldn’t fully blame him, she was pretty sure that she managed to creep him out when she first met him.
Her feet were fully dug into the sand now so it took a second to remove them and push herself up off of the ground. She brushed any dirt off of her and walked over to Dicar, a smile on her face. “Hi Dicar. It’s a nice day today, isn’t it?” She asked brightly, shielding her eyes with a hand as she peered up into the sky. The poor boy was probably regretting his decision to come by the Lake now. She lifted her hands and grinned and said, almost like a peace offering, “No plates today. Promise!”

Dicar was still mulling over all the inconvienences the weyr brought him when he heard a familiar voice. Dicar certainly had no intentions on going to another weyr, since that would probably be more trouble than it was worth. He gathered that he had no idea what to expect anywhere else, and atleast here he had some idea of what to expect. Even if what he expected wasn't very positive, then again Dicar wasn't considered all that positive.
Dicar was unmoved, however, when he heard Faine's voice. Still lounging as before, with his hands behind his head and the cloth covering his eyes. "Hello Faine. It is", he said simply in that emotionless voice of his. He had to admit by now he was getting use to Faine. She was troublesome, but not a troublemaker. Infact, she tried to be downright nice and friendly. People like that annoyed Dicar, but atleast he could be more comfortable around such a presence. With Faine, it was all about adapting to her attitude and quirks. When she mentioned she had no plate and lifted her hands, Dicar removed a hand from behind his head to lift up the cloth lazily from one eye and make sure she was telling truth. Satisfied with the results, he returned the hand behind his head. "Good", he spoke precisely. Afterall, Dicar was not one to mince words with anyone. Infact with Faine, he thought himself too talkative around her.

[I'll jump iiiin. Sorry about not posting in the Masquerade board, Dragon xD; I ran out of steam on that one, and then Hawk mentioned she was gonna be closing it soon anyway. But yesh. My candidate needs to meet more friends that are actually candidates at the same time as him. ...Tanwen is out of luck, because she made friends with the other candidates and now they're weyrlings and she's not xD And besides, we apparently already have a oh-so-friendly face in this rp. Don't need her effervescence mucking it up! xP]
Vaelryn had also chosen the day to take a chance and head out to the lake. He figured it'd be a good idea to get to know the Weyr's lay out a bit more, and out by the water seemed a great place to start on such a warm day. He did luck out in a way though, at least in the clothing-preparation department. He didn't have any clothes that he considered 'too nice' to get dirty (he did have Gather and special occasion clothes, but those weren't exactly every-day wear). On top of that, he came from a pretty warm place. Jungles, after all, could get fairly tropical. He was actually enjoying this heat, especially with such a breeze!
He had a pair of trousers that were tailored to end at the knees, made of a light-brown, fairly thin cloth. The shirt he wore was made of the same light fabric, short sleeved and with a cloth collar folded over around his neck, and lacing down the front that was currently undone. The shirt was dyed the deep red of the vintyr craft; he understood that while he was a candidate it didn't really matter what craft he was, but most of his clothing had that color on it somewhere by default. It wouldn't have done back at Araby to have the son of the master vintyr not marked as a vintyr himself.
Vaelryn had been making his way along the sand, barefoot as he'd left his shoes back at the temporary barracks. He noticed the other two ahead, and recognized at least the boy from mulling around in the candidate's area, though he hadn't spoken to him yet. Vaelryn guessed the girl was a candidate as well, and he realized he hadn't really done much socializing at all with his fellow candidates. He continued on his way towards them, lifting a hand to wave when he got close enough to talk, and offered a smile. "Hullo there!" he greeted.

Faine plopped herself beside Dicar, fully aware that the boy probably didn’t want her there. She was weird, but not dumb. They were both candidates though, so didn’t that mean that they were technically supposed to get along? It made sense in her mind. “How are you today?” She asked optimistically. She kept her hands wrapped around her legs. Dicar would probably hate her more if she began to go through his pockets or something. Other than the whole plate incident, she could proudly say that she had managed to keep her hands to herself during her time at Dark Moon. Truthfully, it wasn’t anything to be that proud about since she had only been at the Weyr for a few days now.
She waited patiently to hear Dicar’s answer, and even wondered if he would give her an answer. A voice reached her ears, but it wasn’t Dciar’s. She turned around and saw a boy walking towards them, his hand raised. “Hello. I’m Faine.” She introduced cheerfully. She hadn’t seen this boy around before, but she had only a met a small amount of people. She noted the fact that there was no dragonet beside him. “Are you a candidate? I am!”

Dicar grumbled aloud to himself as Faine plopped down near him. Just because he responded to her didn't mean he wanted company! This was the problem with people, you give a little and they try to take alot. But best not to cause too much trouble, since he was still a candidate. Once he was a dragonrider, he would be in a position to where he didn't have to put up with so much. His own weyr, and beyond dragonrider duties he wouldn't be required to socialize with others. So he thought. "I'm fine", Dicar said, voice laced with irritation but all the same he gave a sigh of giving in, obviously making the point that he'd just have to accept the girl's presence for now.
But what was this? Just as Faine made herself comfortable, here came another. This was madness as far as Dicar was concerned. He just couldn't escape groups of people, especially when he ran into Faine. "Must there be a group every time we meet?", he grumbled softly enough to where only Faine could here. Dicar lifted a hand idley after Faine introduced herself. "Dicar", he introduced himself simply enough before letting the hand fall and shuffle back behind his head. He was really unmoved from that position of his and he still kept his eyes covered from the sun.

Vaelryn's smile broadened a bit when his arrival was met with friendly reception by the girl. He gave another nod to the boy as well, coming to stand near enough to them that talking was easy without shouting. He didn't sit down though. "Me name's Vaelryn - an yes, I'm a candidate too." He motioned to Dicar with his hand, "I've seen him around the candidate's quarters, but I've not met ye before. So good te meet ye, Faine. And nice te finally have gotten yer name, Dicar. I suppose I should've offered an introduction sooner than now, seein as I share a room with ye, but I guess it just hadn't occurred te me."

Given that she had a bit of free time and it was such a great day out, Tanwen had taken for the beach as well. She was wearing form-fitting clothing that was still loose enough to be comfortable, and made of a lighter material than her cloths for colder weather. The pants were dark brown color, and her shirt was a sunny sort of yellow, loose enough to move in the breeze by the water. She had her soft hide-made shoes with her (in her profile), but she's set them on a large stone by the water and was currently going barefoot. Tanwen had been making her way along the water and collecting flat rocks; she was making her way back to the stone with her shoes on them when she heard the sound of voices.
She climbed on top of the stone, set the pretty decent pile of flat stones by her feet, and looked over to where the small group of three had gathered not far down the beach. She recognized the girl from the temporary candidate barracks, and had seen the boy in the red shirt hanging with Z'ayr before, so she guessed they were all candidates like herself. Tanwen hadn't really made an effort to socialize with any of the newer candidates though, perhaps because some part of her mind felt a bit left behind by the fact that the candidates she'd known best had all impressed at the last hatching. Or perhaps it was that because she felt left behind, some part of her mind also felt as though she couldn't fit in with these newer recruits. Tanwen was...still learning how to be social, anyway.
At any rate, she didn't really make any effort to call over to the other candidates. She simply crouched, lifted one of the flat stones, and went on with the reason she'd come out here in the first place. Just a meaningless, relaxing session of skipping rocks.
[Tanwen was pulled in at the request of Dragon xD]

She leaned in close to Dicar, her voice dropped to a whisper. “It’s because I force them to come, but just like the plate I don’t consciously realize that I am doing it.” Dicar already thought her as crazy, as much as that annoyed her, so it’s not like she could make anything worse. She beamed at Vaelryn, “I’m forcing Dicar to be my friend.” She patted the ground beside her, “Come, sit with us!”. She made a promise to herself the other idea, to meet as many people as possible at Dark Moon. At home, her disorders made it hard for her to easily connect with people and she wanted that to change – even if it was just for a little while.
Faine lifted a hand and scratched at her chest. “Do you guys have any scars that will suddenly itch like mad?” She asked with a frown, still scratching. She pulled down her shirt a bit (Completely oblivious to the fact that she was rather close to flashing someone), “Because I have this wicked one right here. And I’m not sure if it’s supposed to itch.” She pulled her shirt back up, after unknowingly giving the boys a lengthy look. “What if it’s an infection? Do you think it could be an infection? Oh shards, I have an infection.” Faine mumbled to herself. She was somewhat a hypochondriac if you couldn’t tell.

Dicar simply waved off what Vael had said. Maybe it was rude, but to Dicar it was saying it was alright. Though not meant to be comforting or the sort, just that Dicar didn't care if he did or not. Dicar did sit up and place his headband back to resting on his forehead rather than his eyes when Faine whispered to him. Was she so mad as to make jokes to him as well! He also heard what she said to Vael. "Pah", he exclaimed the noise again. As if she just said she was forcing him to be her friend.
Oh, but it only got worse for poor Dicar. Faine had pulled her shirt down so low that her chest was nearly completely exposed. Dicar hadn't meant to, but he stared the entire time, and not at the scar either. He shook his head and got up. "This is madness. First the plate, and now this", Dicar snatched his towel and walked off in a huff. Oh he wasn't as mad at Faine as he was flustered and frustrated now. But better to show anger or irritation rather than show he was being a typical teenage boy.
He had walked so aimlessly that he nearly ran into Tanwen. So there was another person here? Did everyone just decide today to invade his space? He walked past her a bit and laid his towel back down and flopped down on it. Knowing he was out of sight of Faine and Vael, he then lifted his head up and banged it against the ground again. Since it was rock, however, there was a thud and Dicar rubbed the back of his head. "Foolish people", he mumbled in a huff. He really wasn't aware that he wasn't so far off from Tanwen that she could probably overhear him. But right now he was too distracted by the image burned into his mind.

"Forcin him?" Vaelryn asked, "Well it doesn't sound like much of a friendship if he needs te be forced." He shook his head after her next question, indicating that he didn't have any bad scars, and was about to make a comment when she pulled her shirt down to show off one of her own. "Huh," he said. "That is a pretty bad scar." Vaelryn shook his head again as she went on. "I don't think it's a bad thing fer them te get itchy. I don't think ye have anythin to worry about in ways of infection."
That was about when Dicar got up and walked away, and Vaelryn looked over with a bit of a confused look as he stalked off. The black-haired boy then looked back to Faine. "What got inte him?" he asked. "Somethin 'bout a plate?"
- - -
Tanwen was skipping away with her rocks and debating on whether or not she wanted to gather more after when one of the other candidates came walking over and stepping up onto the rocks. She took a step back when he almost walked into her, holding loosely onto one of her rocks and watching as he went over and put a towel down not far away. She raised an eyebrow, not quite sure why he'd chosen to come lay down near her, but decided to try and keep any 'get away from me' comments to herself. She had to make some sort of effort to be social, after all.
Out of the corner of her eye she saw him hit his head against the rock; she quirked an eyebrow and looked over at his verbal comment. "I couldn't agree more," she said, turning her attention back to the water and sending a rock skipping out across the surface. "Why someone would try to knock themselves out on a rock is a mystery to me."

Dicar was already in an ill mood. He wanted to enjoy the day, but his privacy had been interrupted. He had then been subjected to another group conversation, and if that didn't beat all, Faine practically flashed him. There was something seriously wrong with that girl. What girl went about doing such insane things? Well, for probably the first time in Dicar's life, he was flustered. He wasn't going to show it around Faine and Vael. But he had inadvertantly let it known to Tanwen.
And what was this? Now she dared talk to him in such a manner? Perhaps this was his won fault for showing such weak emotion near a woman. He had no right to be flustered, in his mind, afterall. But there was no choice now but to run with it. "Because that someone is trying to get an image out of their head", Dicar spat back. He continued to stay laying down and rubbed his eyes. But what he really felt like doing was gouging them out.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
G'han had been bathing Gerenanth while the candidates seemed to gather around the lake. He glanced over at them for a moment, noticing one young lad had left two other people and he seemed to be pretty aggitated over something. G'han sighed to himself, remembering the good old days of Dark Moon. He remembered all the times he would hang around the lake with Akki, K'dan, Rhia, Nike, and others. They would have things like swimming races and the like. G'han could only chuckle to himself, he thought himself so athletic and nobody could best him. He was proven wrong on so many occassions. He could also see some of that typical bronzerider attitude in such a mentality. But that was so very long ago, and even G'han was a different person back then.
Gerenanth snorted discontently and G'han turned his attention back on bathing his bronze. "You selfish thing, stop being so impatient", he grumbled aloud and smacked his bronze lightly with the back of his hand. Gerenanth only snorted with irritation and thought to get back at his rider. So he shook violently, sending water everywhere and sending G'han plummiting into the lake depths with a very loud splash and a surprised yell. He was sure to catch attention. G'han quickly swam up to the surface and once he caught his breath, he was shouting angrily. "You dimglow of a bronze! Bathe yourself then!", G'han exclaimed, now soaking wet. He made his way to the shore, but he had to admit it was probably funny. He didn't hold anything against Gerenanth for long. Infact, as he was making his way to the shore, he chuckled loudly to himself.
“Dicar just needs a little push.” Faine snickered to Vaelryn as he mentioned that it Faine and Dicar probably didn’t have that great of friendship. She knew that she didn’t like being alone and liked to assume that others didn’t either. Maybe Dicar was just shy and that’s why he was never very talkative!
Did Faine do something wrong? Why was Dicar so…angsty? Well, he was angsty beforehand but this was completely different. What did he mean by ‘Now this’ Admin's Note:
What did she do wrong, because as far as she could tell she didn’t do anything. She just asked a simple question and he freaked out. Perhaps Dicar had a scar that he didn’t want to talk about. It didn’t even occur to Faine that maybe, just maybe she showed off a bit too much skin. She shrugged her shoulders rather daintily.
“Who knows. I was just asking a simple question.” She sniffed. She hid a grin when the plate comment was made. She could tell Vaelryn about how she and Dicar met, but that made her seem crazy. “I guess he has some weird hatred of plates.” She said rather simply, grinning sheepishly as she talked. She watched as Dicar walked off and turned back to the other boy with her. “So Vaelryn, when did you get to Dark Moon? Where did you come from before?”
------
Waeith flew high above the lake, gliding in the air gracefully as V’ian sat on the bronze, deep in thought. He spent quite a few hours searching for his sister all over the place, following a few leads. It wasn’t like he had a sister complex or anything, it was just that he and his sister got along well and it would be nice to see her again. And boy, did he ever see her again. Coming to Dark Moon he asked around for her, using a name that nobody even knew about. V’ian never even thought about the fact that his sister might have shortened her longer (And rather old fashioned) name into something simpler. She never liked her birth name.
Still, he never expected to find her the way he did. Their dragons ended up competing against each other in a flight! It was probably the most awkward sibling rivalry he could have ever imagined. He was happy to see his sister again, but the fact that she was a participant in flights freaked him out slightly. He never imagined his sister would be one of the chasers in a flight either. He knew that the Weyrling Master had a male dragon but he never once pictured Akki with one. His sister, a bluerider! It seemed almost impossible.
Then again, it was just like her to mess things up and not get a female dragon. She never could do anything right. Forgive me for interrupting your thoughts, but I am about to land. Waeith warned, allowing his rider to get a better grip before angling downwards. The large bronze landed softly and patiently waited for V’ian to slide off before informing him politely that he was going to be in the lake. V’ian watched as the large creature gracefully slipped under the waters surface. He looked around the lake, spotting some younger people (Candidates, he assumed) on one side and another rider nearby.
“G’han, right?” V’ian asked as he took a step closer to the fellow bronzerider.
"That's odd," Vaelryn said. "Wonder what happened te the guy fer him te get scared of plates?" He brought a hand up to scratch at the back of his head. "I've heard of some strange fears before, but that one's certainly the strangest."
He looked back up to Faine when she went on to change the subject. "I got here just after the last hatching, actually," he said. "I might've made it fer the hatchin itself, but the hurricane made it so the rider that had come fer me had to wait te leave until the storm calmed down a bit. I heard it was quite the fiasco here, though!" He smiled a bit and shrugged. "I don't mind though, it gave me some time te say goodbye to me folks. I'm from Araby, the Vintyr hall there. Me father's the master vintyr in charge of it all, I expect he's at least a might bit disappointed that I probably won't be followin in his steps.
"I was too, at first, but the more I get te thinkin about it, the more excited I feel." He looked out towards the water at the sound of a shout, smiling a bit at the sight of the bronzerider he hadn't noticed before having a bit of a friendly quarrel with his dragon. "Afterall, it's everyone's dream, aye? Te even get the chance te be a dragon rider."
"Oh," Tanwen said, picking up another stone and tossing it up and down a few times in her palm. "Well. If that's what you're trying to do, then you're definitely on the right track." She threw the rock out across the water, grinning when it picked up a good ten skips before dipping into the water. "A concussion'll wipe out that image for sure." Tanwen crouched and picked up another stone, tossing it up a few times, then putting it to the side and choosing a different one. "Of course..." she stood and threw that out across the water as well, "It'll also get rid of any other memories that you may or may not want to hold on to. But," she shrugged, "it's your mind, not mine."
Dicar had formed a scowl while the girl talked to him. Of course it was a good way to get such an image out of his head. Dicar would be the type to take his mind off of one type of pain by forming a new one. A two edged sword, but effective for it's purposes. When she mentioned something of other memories, that scowl had faded momentarily. He then seemed to mentally shake off whatever had grasped him and the scowl returned. "As if there was anything to hold on to", he spat, annoyed. He grew silent and looked away.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
G'han had been walking to shore when he heard a familiar voice. He turned to see that bronzerider from the cleanup. Ah, but G'han knew him as something else now. He and Akki did talk afterall. "Akki's brother?", he asked. They did talk, and she did mention that. A smirk formed on his lips as he felt the strong urge to tell him what him and his sister shared. It'd be an interesting way to test how much he and Akki were alike. V'ian would either try to take a swing at him or he'd joke right along with him. But he decided not to just yet. Maybe he already knew and he'd say something about it? Who knew?

“Er, who knows, maybe someone hit him with a plate when he was younger.” Faine suggested with a rather sheepish shrug. Poor Dicar! Faine was telling Vaelryn false fears that her fellow candidate had so she wouldn’t appear to be the crazy one. Hopefully this never got back to Dicar or else Faine would have some explaining to do. She felt bad, she truly did but it was hard for her to make friends when they spent most of their time wondering if she took something of theirs.
“Ohhh. Bad timing.” Faine groaned on Vael’s behalf. If it was her, she probably would have been crushed to find out that she could have been standing but now had to wait. The suspense! Just how did Vaelryn deal with it. “I guess extra time to say bye to everyone makes up for it.” She beamed at the boy. Some parents had trouble letting go of their children and would be forever thankful for a few extra minutes with them. “I’ve never seen a Vintyr Hall before.” She announced for no particular reason, just out loud thinking. She had a vision of them being really wild places, an adventure happening every day.
She chewed on her lip, thinking. “I never really imagined being a dragon rider.” She admitted. She waved her hand lazily in the air, “I thought I would just stay at the Hold all my life, like my parents, you know?” She leaned forward and grinned as she wrapped her arms around her knees, “If I don’t Impress, I want to stay at Dark Moon. I could become a cook! I like to cook. If you think about it, it’s just all counting.”
She looked at Vael, thinking. “If you didn’t Impress, what would you do? And you can’t say Master Vintyr! It has to be something new! You can choose anything.”
-----
“Oh no.” V’ian groaned, running his hands through his hair. “Do you think everyone will know me as that? It’s so weird to be known because of your little sister.” He asked with a slight grimace. Weren’t the older siblings supposed to be better known? He liked to think so at least. He would have to trump his sister at some point. It was actually sort of weird. No one knew his sister by her real name, only a nickname, but in a day everyone knew him as ‘Akki’s brother.’ If he did transfer to Dark Moon (Which he was pretty sure he was doing) he hoped that people would call him V’ian so he would not be stuck with the title of ‘Brother’.
V’ian looked at G’han and then looked away quickly. He opened his mouth, about to say something but then quickly closed it. “Oh shards. This is so awkward knowing that you and my sister hooked up.” V’ian blurted out, covering his eyes with a hand. Akki wasn’t the one who told him that tidbit of information. While she did kiss and tell, she definitely wouldn’t tell her brother. That would be far too awkward. V’ian was informed of this by some drudges who had a soft spot for gossip. They pretty much told him everything his sister had been up to in the turns she had been at Dark Moon. It really shattered his image of the innocent girl he had known back at Derth.

G'han chuckled aloud as he asked. "Sorry, but that's probably going to be the case for awhile. Your sister is infamous around here", G'han said with a gleam in his eye. And he mentioned it. So he did know. G'han shook his head and said casually, "Man, I made out with your sister". Only G'han could be so blunt and casual at the same time. But V'ian had mentioned it first, afterall. G'han allowed a few moments to pass before he spoke again. "Though honestly, I didn't know it was here. I was hoping it was a certain greenrider. Didn't know your sister could be such a good kisser though. If I knew that all along, I might have done that sooner", G'han's tone was still casual, but he soon realized that this wasn't Akki he was with, but her brother. So he should probably explain a bit. "Ah yes, but Akki and I joke around like this alot. Probably what makes us such close friends", he explained away as he rung out some of the water out of his shorts. Gerenanth could be such a hassle. Thanks to that bronze, G'han was all wet.

“Infamous?” V’ian repeated curiously before continuing. “Why do I feel like that’s not a good thing?” He shook his head with a snort. Akki being known was never a good thing. She was clumsy, blunt and loud. She probably embarrassed herself or something and that’s how she became known.
“Hrrk.” V’ian was stuck trying to fight his gag reflex. A disgusted look was plastered on his face. “One thing a brother never needs to know is whether or not his sister is a good kisser.” He informed G’han. That was information he never wanted to hear. Wait, did he say that was the way he and Akki talked? This meant his sister had the mouth of a tramp! Actually, that was no surprise. She was pretty perverted at Derth so it made sense that it only got worse as she grew older. “You do realize now, that I have to get back at you. If you have a sister, I am going to hook up with her.” V’ian warned before changing the conversation to something else.
“I hear she got a blue? A female bluerider, I never thought I’d know one! Not only that but she got a mute one? Figures she would manage to break her dragon. Did you stand with her?” He asked with genuine curiosity, nodding towards Gerenanth.
This probably isn’t my place to ask. Waeith began, conversing with Gerenanth from under the waters surface. Your rider mentioned that he hoped Mine’s sister was a greenrider. Would that perhaps be Priaths rider? Waeith was quite a curious dragon, needless to say. He also had a secret love for gossip. He was much like a green in that aspect.

G'han laughed as he continued fighting the losing battle of un-soaking himself as he continued ringing out his clothes. "No, I've got no sister. You could kiss my former weyrmate? Maybe that would be the closest thing to payback. Your certainly not kissing my daughter, she's too young. Well, I suppose you could since it wouldn't mean the same thing", G'han was rambling now. He had a tendancy to do that from time to time. "Anyway, yeah. Akki is a weird one, makes sense she impressed Ebbeth. He's a good dragon though, fits Akki well. Gerenanth may not admit it, but he's probably closest to Ebbeth here", G'han answered him, in regards to Akki the female bluerider. G'han looked over to Gerenanth and shook his head. "No, I was at the hatching right after. Akki was there before I was", he admitted.
Gerenanth was trudging along towards a shallower part of water. He wanted to lay out in the lake, but not drown in it. Once he found a comfortable enough spot, Waeith began talking to him. Hm. Gerenanth seemed to ponder on that for a bit. His memory was bad when it came to specifics, especially days. No, not Priath. She's lovely and all, but it was definently another female greenrider.

V’ian had to wonder if this was how guys typically talked. Back at Igen, the guys grunted and bragged of their accomplishments. V’ian never participated in any of the boasting so the other riders assumed that he had nothing to brag of and therefore held no importance. This conversation was much different, there was no bragging – only jokes. It felt weird. Weird, but nice.
“Your former weyrmate, eh?” V’ian said softly, stroking his chin in thought. “Wait a tick, is she a brownrider? I met a brownrider with two children, was that her?” He asked, the image of Rhia from the clean up popping into his head. “Because if it was, she was pretty good looking.” The bronzerider said with a sly grin. He liked to think that he was entitled to say that since he had to hear the details of Akki and G’han getting romantic. “Um, no thanks to kissing your daughter though. I’m sure she’s pretty and everything but that’s even too creepy for me.”
It was nice to know that Akki was doing well at Dark Moon. By the sounds of things, she had managed to befriend a fair number of people. He had often worried about his sister and her wellbeing and it was comforting to know that he really didn’t have anything to worry about in the end. V’ian was now realizing that he was becoming one of those creepy protective brothers. “How long have you been at Dark Moon then?” V’ian asked, trying to make conversation.
Waeith popped his head above the waters surface, eyes churning a content green. I only know Priath. Well, her and the other green. The new one, Rasth I believe. This was Waeith’s pitiful attempt to meet the other dragons at Dark Moon. Like his rider, at Igen he was looked down upon the other bronzes. He used his manners and talked politely and modestly to the other dragons. The bronzes assumed he was trying to charm all of the female dragons this way and began to ignore him. It was like a dragon boycott. Waeith remembered meeting Gerenanth, more or less, during the clean up that was occurring. Except the bronzes didn’t really converse, concentrating on talking to the greens nearby.
