The rain fell steadily, in heavy sheets, clouds oppressing the skies, a dreary tone covered southern as far as the eye could see. A dark blue dragon blinked into existence from the excruciating cold of between, he was small, stocky, strong looking. And not soft of youth. Aboard the dragon was a man similar in his means. Hair flicked in the movement against the wind, even drenched as it was already, it managed to find a life of its own.
Greyed sails arced towards the weyrbowl, grace and surprising elegance were not obvious upon the looks of the dragon, but he had some power, and experience above all. Even in the turbulent winds and rain, the blue was steady and even. The blue landed with ease in the bowl, water streamed off of the dark hide, equally it shed from the wherhide cloak his bonded was wearing, though fortunately the rain's intensity was beginning to wane. Q'sin was simply hating the fact he had chosen his coat without a hood. Now didn't he look presentable, one eye patched, drenched hair, mildly scarred, bonded of a blue who was removed of digits, what would the weyrstaff think of him? in this state? In their right minds they'd have to be brave to take him on.
Well that was cynical Q'sin's impression at very least.

Christae stood in the opening of her Weyr, watching the rain fall. Chiron was playing quietly in the corner with some carved wooden blocks. Kaith was in the weyr, leaving only a small passageway for her to pass through to reach the inner chambers. She was not just laying on her couch, she was sprawled across it. Her bulk was impressive and Christae has the satisfaction of knowing that she was not fat, just well-muscled. She had not suffered from her time sitting at her eggs because she fretted too much and moved around a lot.
She turned her eyes away from her sleeping Queen and back to look out over her rain-soaked domain. The after effects of the hurricane were still evident in the skybroom trees stripped of their leaves and the high water mark still on the walls of the Weyr. The lake was still filled with debris but the dragons would be working on that within the next sevenday or so. The work to restore this portion of the Southern Continent could not be done in a day but hte majority of the tasks had been done.
Christae heard the watch dragon call out a greeting to an entering dragon and scanned the sky for the dragon. She had received transfer papers from Telgar Weyr. She hadn't expected the rider so soon but she supposed that was better. Now that the Weyr had mostly been set to rights, she would begin training with the wings again. The Weyrlings would begin their lessons and the wings would begin training again.
Christae slipped back into her weyr and picked up her son. The toddler fussed at being taken away from his game so she scooped the blocks into a small bag and brought them with her as she took the back stairs down, taking the branch that led to her office.
Kaith love, wake up please. We have a new arrival. Please direct him to my office.
May I return to my nap afterwards?
You may. Christae smiled with amusement.
Welcome to Dark Moon. My rider wishes yours to meet her in her office. You may shelter in one of the second floor weyrs if you wish until their business is done. Kaith included a mental image of how to get to the office. Christae called for klah, juice and some rolls to be brought in. She set Chiron down in an area designed to keep him there and gave him his blocks even though he had a few toys in there already. She settled down at her desk to wait for the new rider to come in.

Chaovith made soft noises in his throat to his bonded, The weyr is a mess The blue surveyed the land about him, trees blown, debris scattered over thr ground, it would be a while before the weyr was returned to any similarity of what it had been. Even then the blue doubted it would be anything as remarkable as Telgar. Telgar was his home, Chaovith had loved it there. He was one who did not enjoy the change. Solemn and old now. A message came to his mind, the voice carried authority that could only belong to his new queen. Welcome to Dark Moon. My rider wishes yours to meet her in her office. You may shelter in one of the second floor weyrs if you wish until their business is done. Thank you, I shall relay the message and my thanks for the shelter in the mean time, the weather does not seem to let up here. The blue replied.Q'sin, the weyrwoman requires your presence in her office. they have kindly allowed me to shelter in a weyr on the second floor, unless you have need of me, I shall be there until you are done. Q'sin stretched out on top of Chaovith's back, rain streamed down his face as he looked at the clouded sky. To her office? That shouldn't be too hard to find, and he'd welcome the warmth, for the weather was almost as cold as the between. Hooking his leg over the backbone of Chaovith, Q'sin slid from the dragon, landing in soft mud that splashed up his boots, he regarded them in distaste. Thanks 'Vith, I hopefully wont be too long. I wonder what the Weyrwoman's like. Her queen seems sound enough, but there is little else I can say He allowed the images of directions from Kaith transfer to his bonded. Q'sin sighed and set off into a light jog towards the weyr, to follow the designated route. Cleaning his boots off as best as possible, he wove his path towards her office. Random thoughts filling his mind, a minute amount of anxiety, and nerves fleeted through his mind, they didn't take residency though, for it wasn't his way. He remembered the images as best he could, stringing them together as he physically met the places he was meant to be. Q'sin turned to the door - finally - knocked, and silently prayed he had found the right one, "Weyrwoman Christae?" He asked through the door, it was always considered polite in Telgar. Not so much within other weyrs, but Telgar was strong in him, what could he do?

Mine. You will not believe this, but someone you will recognize from Telgar is here. Gerenanth's tone was one of surprise.
Oh really? G'han rhetorically questioned his bronze. Gerenanth provided a clear picture and name of rider and dragon. G'han knew the pair well enough. Perhaps not close friends, but they were no strangers. I'll have to greet him. G'han decided and took off in a sprint after Q'sin. Who better to welcome someone to Dark Moon than someone they were already familiar with.
It did take some time for G'han to catch up with Q'sin and from what he could tell, he was heading for the Weyrwoman. He hoped not to interrupt anything, but he certainly wanted to greet him. Afterall, G'han didn't know if this was strictly business or if he was a transfer. He could be gone after this and his chance to chat gone.
But he had caught up with him right as he stopped outside the door. He hadn't heard him call to the Weyrwoman, and spoke up. "Q'sin! What brings you to a place like this?", G'han asked with a smile on his face visible through the cloak he wore to keep his clothes dry. He let the hood down, the rest of his face now visible.

Q'sin flinched at the recognised voice. He couldn't place it as he turned to face his new company. "G'han? Shards it is you! So this is where you disappeared to!" He smirked, small scars tightening as he did so, showing quite nicely upon tanned skin. "Ah, well, S'tor kind of stitched me up." He sighed, "guess that game was his." he looked a little dismayed, though perhaps more aggravated than aggrieved. He shirked off his cloak, folding the wet sides together before he draped it over his arm, lining side out. He raked a hand through his roughly placed hair, "And this, is my new start. I knew you came from here, but I didn't realise you had returned G'han, how is Gerananth? It's nice to see you once more." Q'sin smiled faintly. It was strange to see G'han here, now. He hadn't heard from him in quite a while, and yet, here he was. Bold as brass before him, forgotten bronze rider of Telgar, "How do you find it here? I've heard very little about it, other than the fact it was hit by a hurricane of recent. Shame, it looks like it was beautiful before" He omitted that he didn't think it was quite as attractive as Telgar, but G'han would know his opinions were otherwise.

G'han laughed as Q'sin now realized who he was talking to. "Yes, yes. I don't know if you knew or not, but I started out here at Dark Moon. Impressed Gerenanth here and everything. I guess it was only a matter of time I returned home, especially when your home is in need of some transfers. Who better a transfer than someone who knows the place, right?", G'han explained himself.
Azure decided at that moment he would pop in on G'han's shoulder. The blue flitt was dry, so it was obvious he woke from his nap in the weyr and decided to check up on the bronzerider. G'han scratched the flitt's head for a moment then turned to Q'sin. "You might remember Azure here. He has a tendancy to pop in on random occassions", G'han re-introduced his blue flitt, who really had a knack for that sort of thing.
"Oh it was quite a beauty back in the day. Shame what the hurricane did to it", G'han responded. It was nothing like Telgar, that was for sure. But the two weyrs had their distinct differences, and this was the place G'han called home. "Gerenanth is fine. As arrogant as ever though. I blame Telgar's influence", the bronzerider replied with a smirk. "Infact, he noticed your entrance and let me know", G'han added.

Christae cleared her throat to interrupt the reunion. She had remained silent as the two spoke but they would have time to catch up once she had finished with the transfer papers and other business that she had to take care of with the new rider.
"Welcome to Dark Moon Weyr. I'm glad that you and G'han know each other. That might make your transition here that much easier. Perhaps I'll keep that in mind when assigning you to a wing. I was looking over the wing formations today."
OOC: Thanks to Lee I can post those wing formations lol!

Q’sin smiled slightly as he heard G’han speak of this place in its former glory. If it had impressed G’han it must have been nice. “Though it must have been a very small weyr at the time of your impression G’han, for it is not extensive even now. “As to you impressing here, I knew you impressed at one of the smaller weyrs but I knew not which one, and I had heard you were southern, but again I knew not specifics. Turning to the Weyrwoman, he responded, “Thank you weyrwoman, I am grateful for taking me in, and yes G’han and I spent some time together back in Telgar, and I would like that very much my lady. G’han is one man I know I can trust immediately.” His words were soft, yet his opinion was obvious. He liked G’han and really would not mind being placed within his wing. Or a wing including the bronze rider. Though Gerananth was a little arrogant for Chaovith’s likings, the blue could put up with the bronze easily. The pair had occasionally flown together in games, and Chaovith had generally responded well to Gerananths’ orders. “Oh.” He said as he hunched his back a little to ease access to his inner pocket, he pulled his papers from the inside of his cloak, “I’m sorry if they’re a little damp, I tried my best to keep them dry, but by the will of Faranth, the rain is unrelenting all over Pern it would seem. It was almost as bad in Telgar as it is here.” He remarked.

G'han grinned. "Small, but that's where it's charm comes from. It's small enough that everyone is practically family here. There's really no such thing as a stranger here. Which means you'll be given a warm welcome", G'han explained before the weyrwoman chimed in.
G'han nearly wanted to jump out of his skin when the weyrwoman cleared her throat to get their attention. Thankfully he didn't make such a reaction and simply turned to face her. Her business was with the bluerider, so G'han only smiled and bowed slightly to her.
Christae seemed a woman of grace, precision, and duty. These were very fine traits in a weyrwoman. Heck, they were fine traits in any woman. G'han certainly noticed. But if there was anyone he was careful glancing at or noticing, it was the weyrwoman. He certainly didn't want to stir up anything by being caught in an appreciative glance.
G'han's thoughts drifted to Rhia momentarily. He was glad the two had settled things and moved on. To be honest, Gerenanth did play a part in that. If it wasn't for his bold actions, things might not have been settled. But G'han certainly didn't linger on the thought for long. He had a habit for leaving the past in the past now.

“I can agree to that, very family-like atmosphere,” a voice said from behind the two dragonriders. The woman hadn’t wanted to interrupt the gathering, but nevertheless her impulse had gotten the best of her in this situation, like most times. “Weyrwoman Christae,” she said, stepping in-between the two men to bow low to her. She then took a step back, leaving her to tend to her duty with the Bluerider. She had thought to drop by and have a chat with Christae, get to know her better. Everyone around here worshipped the ground she walked on, and it was quite impressive, for with all the places she’d been, she’d never seen dragonrider’s with more respect for their Weyrwoman than here. The woman ran the Weyr very well; even she could see that being new here. She waited to introduce herself to Q’sin, again not wanting to interrupt something important. It wasn’t really any business of hers to just barge on in here when the Weyrwoman was busy, and if she was asked to leave she wouldn’t mind. If anything she should just leave out of respect. She gestured with a thumb behind her, giving the Weyrwoman a meaningful look.
She then mouthed: “Later?” She certainly wouldn’t mind staying to see what was said to the newcomer. She had wanted to speak to the Weyrwoman about performing Searchrider duties as well. She nodded to G’han, flashing him a smirk. Her fingers felt for one of her lower curls, playing with it while she waited for an indication from the Weyrwoman.
Gerenanth, greetings. Rasth, greet the newcomers dragon, would you? Of course Mine, not a problem... Rasth was eager to meet the new blue, perhaps he’d be a charmer? Hello there Chaovith, I’m Rasth, and my rider is Aarora. Welcome to Dark Moon Weyr, we too are new here. It’s nice to know there are more continuing to come after us.
Aarora looked over at Q’sin, not wanting him to be upset that she’d walked in at a bad time. She smiled apologetically.

Christae took the papers from Q'sin and glanced over them. "These all seem to be in order. I'll let your former Weyrleader know that everything is settled. Welcome to our family. Things are still a bit chaotic from the hurricane and the aftermath but as soon as the wings begin practicing again I will see to it that you are assigned to G'han's wing."
"I guess that sort of spoils any surprise. G'han, since I can't have Rhia leading a wing while she handles the Weyrlings, I want you to take a Wingleader position. " She was interrupted by Aarora's entrance.
"Good day to you Aarora. I trust you have settled well? I received a favorable report from both Rhia and the other Candidate Master that you worked under. I'm certain that Rhia will probably be stepping down from the Candidate Master position soon and you will be able to move up. She really has too much to do with the Weyrlings and with Wolf's Queen due to rise soon she will have both Junior and Senior Weyrlings to contend with instead of just the one set of Weyrlings like we usually have. With the Red Star coming closer the Queens are producing larger clutches and rising more often."
"As I was saying before, G'han, you are one of the more senior riders in the sense that you were here the longest out of anyone other than Rhia, Akki, and myself. I hope that your training in Telgar serves you in good stead."
"Q'sin, I hope that you and G'han will be willing to show us some of the techniques you learned with Telgar. We had a program of transferring riders to other weyrs for short periods of time to learn from each other but those have been suspended indefinitely due to the blizards in the Northern Continent and the hurricane that hit here in the Southern Continent. It seems that even Pern herself senses the coming danger of the Red Star."
"Aarora, I have already spoken to Rhia about this but I will mention it to you as well. Our firestone supplies are low. Sometime soon I would like you and Rhia to take the Candidates and Weyrlings out to get more firestone. It is part of the Weyrlings' lessons but I would like that to be added to the Candidate's repritoire as well because they will be handling firestone when Thread falls and it wouldn't do for them to give a bad piece of firestone to a dragon and possibly cause injury."
She paused, realizing that she had given all three riders a lot to think about. She waited to see their reactions and hear their comments.

Smiling gently, he looked towards G’han, I can imagine it really does help for newcomers that you are all quite as close as you seem,” He turned to face the newcomer, “Good-day to you miss, I am Q’sin, fresh from Telgar, and I apologise for interrupting your meet with the weyrwoman, I can leave you to to it just as soon as I am cleared by Weyrwoman Christae here.” Q’sin bowed slightly to the weyrwoman, acknowledging her kindness, “Thank you Christae, I’m sure G’han is capable of the job for one, and I would be glad to help where I can.” He smiled graciously, turned to G’han proud yet amused smirk lining his lips, “Congratulations Wingleader G’han.” A manly clap on the shoulder was G’han’s reward.
It is nice to hear from another Rasth, Mine own is Q’sin, his barks worse than his bite, I am happy to be here, and we thank you for your welcome. And it is nice to know we are not alone in this, how are you and yours finding Dark moon so far may I ask? Chaovith wasn’t completely unsociable, but for the moment he shifted around inside the weyr, trying to dry himself off a little, spreading himself as wide as possible to give a larger evaporating surface. Q’sin, her name is Aarora, and she and hers greeted myself, they are new and her dragon is green Rasth. Thank you ‘Vith, I appreciate you helping with names.[/i] Q’sin replied.
He looked over at the green rider, Aarora, as she played with her hair idly. She was young, at latest 20 turns, she did not seem old, quite a bit shorter than himself. Distracting himself, he decided to open a slightly different conversation to the thoughts in his head, “In celebration of G’han’s wingleadership, would it be acceptable for us to call an informal celebration? I’d certainly like to see that.” He gave a quirky look between his newly-fledged-wingleader and the weyrwoman, questioning for their approval on the matter.

Aarora kept a professional, yet openly friendly, air about her when the Weyrwoman did address her. “Yes, Dark Moon is turning out to be everything I’d hoped it’d be and more... and I’m really not just saying that, I really appreciate being permitted to transfer here.” Having the chance to receive a fresh start was all thanks to the woman before her, she already felt like she had a lot to owe Christae and yet she was just getting started here. “Really, well it’s always nice to be well spoken-of. Wouldn’t want a bad reputation, by any means,” she braved saying, not sure if the Weyrwoman would appreciate her slight humour. It was always safe to try, for then at least she could then know her boundaries next time. Some Weyrwoman were stark serious, which was boring, if she was to be honest, but it’s simply how they managed to get so much work done. “Yes, Rhia does her job very well; I can see how successful she’s been here.” She paused to let the Weyrwoman continue on speaking before starting up again, “Wow, talk about a lot of work to be done. It’s exactly what I wanted. I’m betting the junior queen’s clutch will prove interesting then, I can’t wait. I’ll have these Candidates in tip top shape by then, you can take my word for it.” Aarora reached an arm behind her to relieve an itch at the base of her neck.
“Congratulations G’han,” she said, winking at the bronzerider. “Seems like you’re right where you belong.” When she was being addressed again she quickly diverted her attention, putting duty ahead of social hour. “Firestone- got it. I’ll be sure to help with that as soon as Rhia decides to start,” she let the Weyrwoman know. “Injured dragons are a big no,” she spoke seriously. When it came to additional comments she kept them to herself for now, she knew what needed to be done, she had her orders, when she had an opinion on something she figured was worth mentioning she would.
“Oh no, you aren’t interrupting anything, please-do stay if you wish. No need to be rushing off just yet,” she told Q’sin. “Welcome to Dark Moon Weyr in any case Q’sin, I’m sure we’ll be seeing a lot of each other. As you more than likely already know, thanks to Rasth, I'm Aarora.”
Chaovith, I can only hope that your rider does not find mine as intimidating as she sometimes seems. She’s rather easy to get along with, a bit too easy if you ask me, Rasth commented jokingly. Oh the assortment of dragons and riders here, not to mention the plentiful work to be done, is very reassuring. My rider and I love it already. What are your first impressions of the place might I ask? You’re both from Telgar, no?
In that moment Aarora too was gazing up on Q’sin, and she smirked at him, which could be taken flirtatiously or no. In her mind she was taking note of him. Her attention was always kept half on the Weyrwoman although, for she intended to keep that good impression. “A celebration, that’s a great idea in my opinion. Of course...” she trailed off, leaving the Weyrwoman to answer the bluerider. She nudged G’han’s side ever so gently with her elbow, trying to get him to pipe in. It really wasn’t her place to agree to any possible arrangements so therefore only her opinion was being issued, which she hoped was welcome this time.

G'han was cautious with his reaction to the realization of his appointed position. It was an honor to any bronzerider to be wingleader. G'han decided for a more formal reaction, compared to what he really wanted to do. Which was leap for joy. The bronzerider bowed deeply before the weyrwoman. "It is an honor and a privilage to serve you, weyrwoman Christae, and this weyr in any position you see fit. I only hope that my actions in this role can reflect the amount of trust and faith you in me to appoint me to this role", he responded, still bowed. He then stood upright and smiled at her, with a slight nod of his head to thank her. "Thank you", he finished.
He nodded to both greenrider and bluerider as they congradulated him. "I'm sure my time at Telgar will help me", G'han spoke confidently in response to Christae as he looked over to Q'sin. "Having a seasoned Telgar rider like Q'sin will help as well", G'han nodded over to the bluerider who'd be slated to his wing. He was really glad he'd have Q'sin in his wing. His experience and guidance would serve him well, and the two proved they could work well together in the past.
G'han scratched the back of his head and gave a goofy grin when Q'sin mentioned an informal celebration of his promotion to this rank. It didn't help any that he had Aarora elbowing him in the ribs. Not that G'han didn't mind the extra affection from a greenrider, or atleast that's what he chalked it up as. "Um. Wow guys, I really don't know what to say. I can hardly refuse...", G'han trailed off and looked over to Christae. The gaze itself was more hopeful than anything else. Hoping she'd agree to a small, informal celebration. After all, how often was it that he'd get to kick back with the weyrwoman and a couple other riders? Christae always managed to keep herself busy as well. He was certain the weyrwoman could use atleast a brief bit of downtime.

Christae gave Aarora a small smile, amusement in her eyes. Christae had changed over the Turns due to her position as Weyrwoman. She was no longer as openly jovial. She had never been one to be overly open with emotions but as Weyrwoman she was even less so. She carried the weight of the Weyr on her shoulders and it was a heavy one. One that she would never wish on anyone else.
"Rhia, Akki, and I watched this weyr go from our dragons being the last hope to the bustling, if small, weyr that it is now. I am glad that you can work well with her. I hope someday soon you will take the Candidate Master position off her hands. She is very competent but I know she has too much to handle with both positions. We simply had no other who could take over until now."
Christae caught G'han's hopeful expression and bit back a smile. She knew what her riders thought about her work schedule. Just the other day Akki had mentioned that she needed a day off and the bluerider had offered to take over being Weyrwoman. Christae's mouth quirked in a small, wry smile. That would be chaotic but probably fun.
"I am sure you will fit right Q'sin. Most of my riders love impromptu celebrations. I see no reason why we could not have one here. I am sure the Lower Caverns are preparing for breakfast now so we can break our fast at the same time." She set her paperwork down.
"I have some work to do but it is all paperwork that can be done later. I think I will join you if you don't object to my company." She waited for their answer and went to pick up her son. He would need to be fed. Her bronze flitt emerged from *between* shaking of a sleepy air. He had been curled up next to the great Queen for warmth. It was rather chilly this morning, another sign of change. The Southern Continent was rarely ever cool at this time of the year, even in the early morning. Christae had been looking into the signs that a Pass would end in the old Records and they all pointed to weather changes like the ones they were enduring.
Birinj creeled his hunger and she reached out to scratch his eye ridges. "I think I would have had to quit paperwork anyway. Birinj here is hungry and I'm surprised Chiron isn't complaining for food already."
"Food mama." Chiron bubbled happily. He dumped the handful of sand he had right on the top of his mother's head.
"Oh Faranth! I forgot to make sure he didn't have sand. Excuse me." She set the toddler down and he stood there, seriously surveying the other riders as his mother stepped out of the office to shake the sand out of her shoulder-length brown hair. She had to undo the runner tail it was in and then redo the runner tail to get the sand out of it.
"I am sorry about that. Shall we proceed?"

ooc:*whistles* sorry guys! there was no movement for quite a while then the movement halted at my fault, I apologise!!! modify: stupid proboards and its slightly different codings!!!! .:.:.IC.:.:. After consorting with his bonded, the blue, rumbling to himself aloud in the empty weyr, Chaovith responded to the green, Raasth. He does not find her overly intimidating. He believes she could be quite easy to get along with in fact. He is however on edge about being the newest rider in a close knit weyr group. With Yours being, also relatively new, he finds some solace in that. The blue was formal, but soon it would fall to the wayside, he knew not the green, and didn’t know any others of the weyr, nor what was said of her, or Hers. Chaovith thought for a moment, what were his initial thoughts of it here? My first thoughts. It’s very wet. Not that he felt one way or the other on this matter, but it was Other than that, you all seem to be very business like. Perhaps that would be good for mine. And Aye, we are from Telgar, same as G’han. We served there for a long time He omitted the fact that both he and his would still be there if they had the choice. They both had adored Telgar. But this place though it was lovely, it just was not home. Q’sin tried to keep his mind in the conversation as his dragon conversed with him mentally also, he was fairly adept at it by now, showing very little distraction from the conversation at hand. He let a smile spread over his lips, happy to see them being quite accepting of his tendancies already, “I am glad. It would hearten me somewhat to have you all present” He smiled, and agreed to the breakfast, despite having eaten before he had left this morning, and all aside, he wasn’t much of a man for breakfast, nor food in general, he found his days generally began and finished with a stiff drink. But he’d not let that known for a while – or at least cover it as best as he could manage. Q’sin turned to G’han, a smirk present, “And as though you would turn us down G’han?” He gave a half laugh, jesting with the younger bronze rider, “Seasoned? That’s one word I guess. But then what can I say? I’ve been a rider for a very long time.” His words proceeded the weyrwomans departure. Q’sin slid his attentions back to Aarora, “Yes, Chaovith has introduced me to your names at very least, Rasth seems to be very welcoming, for which Chaovith is grateful, he worried for us both that we might not find others here willing to accept us, being a new weyr, they tend to have quite tight knit communities within them, occasionally they find strangers, well, strange. And the strangers become estranged further because of it. “However you have done nothing but make us both feel welcomed, we thank you.” He dipped his head in small bow to show his appreciation. Upon Christea’s return, Q’sin swiftly stepped from the weyrwomans path, offering the way with his hands to the rider of the queen. “How could we object to you glorifying us with your presence my weyrwoman?” Just because she was a gold rider did not mean he wouldn’t subject her to his attempts to charm. I’m oh so glad to hear that we can be of help to You and Yours Chaovith. It is most certainly hard coming to a new place, oftentimes one may feel out of the loop. I will do everything in my power to see to it that you do not end-up feeling that way, your rider as well. Mine will help in whatever way she can too. Our services are open to you both. Rasth was pouring out the kindness, like she often did. She really was good at empathizing with others, even those not of the male persuasion. A lot of one’s never really got a chance to know Rasth deep down. The green was glad to have a chance to get to know others, and perhaps they’d be interested enough in her friendship to really get to know her as well. A friendship required two-way interest after all.
I’m far from all business dear Chaovith, let me show you sometime, she flirted mercilessly. Well you most certainly know bronzerider G’han then, and his bronze Gerenanth. Very good. Telgar is a strong Weyr, but with the right aid Dark Moon shall be very prosperous. Aarora and myself, we come from High Reaches Weyr. Chatting it up with this blue was turning out to be a sheer delight.
“Now, now Q’sin, I find you far from strange. I do understand quite what you mean though, and feeling as if one does not fit-in is the most unpleasant of feelings to bear.” She placed a hand on his arm consolingly. “Rasth and I are more than glad to help you settle-in, as Rasth has already mentioned to Chaovith. We’ll be fast friends, I’m sure.” A twinkle of mischief was in her eye, and by the smirk on her face one could only wonder at her thoughts. She looked to the Weyrwoman, chuckling softly when her son dumped sand on her head. “They’re lovely at that age, aren’t they Weyrwoman?” she said conversationally, stepping aside to permit her to pass.
Golden Kaith, it is an honour, both I and Mine have heard much about you. You’re practically infamous. See; now her charm was not reserved just for the males, not all the time anyways.
Aarora snuck a glance at G’han, hoping he was happy. He’d just received the job of a lifetime; many Bronzerider’s would be assuredly envious of his new position in the Weyr. He’ll do so well, she told herself, a warm smile making its way onto her visage before her gaze flickered away, back to Q’sin. She began to wonder how much more desirable the new position would make G’han in the eyes of the ladies. A hint of jealousy snapped at her.

"My dear weyrwoman, what kind of celebration would we have if it lacked your presence? Certainly not one of great importance", G'han poured on charm that was only reserved for certain occassions and certain people. The weyrwoman was one who would almost always get this level of respect and charm from G'han. Otherwise, G'han was a much more casual and informal type of person.
G'han couldn't help but chuckle and smile a bit as he watched Chiron's antics. He couldn't help but think of his twins, and how mischivious they were. He sure had alot of catching up to do with them, and he only blamed himself for that. But no sense on dwelling in the past. He could only work in the now and hope to positively affect the future. That was where his focus would lie, in the now.
"I could hardly object to such a celebration, Q'sin, especially one in which the weyrwoman herself deems worthy to attend", G'han's tone wandered towards formal and charm yet again even at the mention of weyrwoman. It must have been instinct for him now. "But yes, it can be agreed that you have been a rider for quite awhile. That's why I think it will be good to have you in my wing. You have the experience and time I need to help the wing function. It's you who I'll be relying on for some insight", G'han's tone was serious, formal as before but more work-like. Q'sin would have a special place in G'han's wing, since the bluerider was older than most riders at Darkmoon. It would be unwise for him to pass up the advice he may have for G'han's wing.
G'han caught Aarora's glance. He didn't look away as to let her eye him in private. Instead, he raised an eyebrow, wondering what she was thinking. But G'han let the thoughts lay to rest and turned his attention back to Christae. "We may. But after you, my fair lady", G'han spoke, same tone as before with her, and waved his arms to the door as in to usher her exit.

Christae smiled. "Well considering the fact that I am usually all seriousness, I wasn't sure if you wanted such a dour presence in your midst while you are celebrating." Her eyes sparkled with amusement. She may have the weight of the Weyr on her shoulders, but she could still joke and have fun with her riders. Sometimes, however, she didn't know how they would react if she started joking with them because she was always so serious in the course of her duties.
"Q'sin, Dark Moon is filled with many strange characters, so I am certain that you will fit right in. However, if ever you have trouble with someone not accepting you and it is causing a problem, I hope you come to me or my Jr. Weyrwoman Wolf of Serinth. We are here to make sure the Weyr runs smoothly and there is no reason for animosity between friends and fellow riders."
Christae held her son out and brushed the last bit of sand off of him and then got the sand that had stuck to her clothes from picking him up. "They are cute when they are this age, but so messy. I really shouldn't let him play in a sand box but it keeps him quiet so I suppose that's just a small sacrifice that I have to make to have peace in my domain, however fleeting."
Kaith raised her wedge-shaped head from its resting position on her couch. She was not on her ledge like she normally was because of the rain. Good day to you Rasth. I hope this day finds you and yours well? The Queen's voice was warm. It was amazing how the large beast could turn from sweet, welcoming and maternal to bossy and stern. For now, she was welcoming and warm.
"I hope you don't mind dealing with a toddler during your celebration. I get so little time to spend with him that I usually enjoy the early morning before the Weyr stirs." She tucked him back onto her hip and glanced around the office to see if there was anything more she would need. She grabbed a small sack and stuffed a few toys into it to keep her son occupied and relatively quiet.
"Q'sin, since you don't really know the Weyr all that well, allow me to show you the tunnel that leads from my office to the Lower Caverns so we don't have to go back out into the wet. It looks like the drizzle is about to come down harder for a bit."
She led the way through the tunnels, pointing out markers that would help both Q'sin and Aarora find their way to her office from the inner bowels of the Weyr. G'han already knew these, though it had been a while since he had been here so he might appreciate the refresher course.
