It was along this hallway... I think, Aarora blinked, trying to find where she’d been told her weyr was. I’m already there, you’re close, Rasth told her. Aarora stepped through the entrance, heading over to her bed to put her stuff down by it before looking around. She was sure it’d suit her just fine, as long as it had a bathing area, a bed, and a table for her to eat at-which clearly it had. Oh, and not to mention space for Rasth...
It suits me just fine, I rather like it, and it’s very cozy. Me too, Aarora replied simply, bent over to put her stuff down on the floor. She’d sounded quite mellowed out. When she stood back up and roamed the room with her eyes, a small smile lit her face. This was her new home, for a very... very long time, or so she hoped. She walked around a bit, observing everything, getting the lay of the land so to speak. She liked knowing every nook and cranny of every place, especially when it came to hiding some of her stuff... She had trust issues, big time, and never left precious possessions in common places. She sighed, bent over again to check out a lower compartment for storage. When she stood back up she rested the back of her hand against her forehead, closing her eyes over slowly. She blindly made her way over to the bed, flopping down onto it. She extended her legs out behind her, stretching her body out. The greenrider raised her arms up, resting her cheek against her wrist. She slowly opened her eyes, a frown having developed on her face.
It’ll be different here Mine, I promise. Please don’t feel down, I can’t stand when you do, for then I do too.
Aarora didn’t move, staring off into nothingness...
For as long as Rasth could remember Hers had just wanted to feel as if she fitted in somewhere, perhaps with ‘someone’ was more the way of putting it. Rasth had felt like eating many a person in her time because of what they had done to Hers, though sadly she put some of the blame on her rider herself. Aarora was great at getting close to people, it was just staying close to them she had a problem with...
Rasth felt like warning Gerenanth, telling him to warn G’han to be careful how he went about his friendship with Aarora. She didn’t want to meddle though, and the last thing she wanted was for Gerenanth to relay the message and have scared G’han off. She was betting there were many more women in the Weyr that’d suit G’han just fine, ones that didn’t have such a great complex as Hers did. Oh, how Rasth hated seeing history repeat itself. We’re in a different place now, with ones who don’t know her as well, a dragon can only hope that it’ll be different this time. Please let it be different. Rasth snorted, which alerted Aarora that she was disgruntled about something.
She remained focused on her own thoughts though, wanting desperately to reach out to Rasth, but right now she just couldn’t manage.

Finally, G'han had some time to spare. Newly assigned wingleader meant that he had alot of organizing to do, and it kept him on his toes. Christae had just appointed him wingleader, he was right there with a friend from Telgar, Q'sin, when it happened. Q'sin would also be in his wing as well. Which was a good thing, the two had proven they could work together well. He was older, he had the experience others didn't. That would prove benificial to his wing. HIS wing. G'han couldn't help but smirk every time those two words crossed his mind.
My wing as well. Gerenanth bugled proudly from his ledge. Yes, yes. Of course Gerenanth. But rather than be boastful, you'll need to be an example. Mine! Surely I can handle such a simple task. Gerenanth sounded almost wounded, but G'han knew he was faking it. Riiiiiight, G'han dragged out.
G'han decided to put thoughts of the wing aside. He had time to spare right now and he knew exactly how he'd spend it. With that lovely new greenrider that just so happened to be unattached. G'han wanted to grin from ear to ear, but didn't. He was rather well at hiding the reactions he'd normally give.
Mine, this is where Rasth's is. Gerenanth, of course, stayed in contact with the new green and got the whereabouts from her. Alright, I'm on my way.
G'han was near there anyway, it just so happened. He strode casually to the door of her weyr and knocked lightly. Afterwards, he ran a hand through his hair just to be sure. He then knocked again and called her name gently, "Aarora?"

Do get up, G’han is here to see you! Rasth sent to Aarora, grumbling. G’han could not see her like this, he’d begin to wonder, and that was the least thing Rasth wanted. Get up and be cheery, or else I will be forced to storm in there and cause a riot that neither one of us wants. Aarora never put it past Rasth to be serious about everything she said, hence why Aarora sat up and pushed her hair back behind her. She sat back on the bed, her legs hanging over the side.
“Come on in G’han, don’t be a stranger,” she called out. She put on her best smile, and G’han would be as clueless as any other that knew not how to read her properly. Thank Faranth that you’re such a good actor, Rasth told Hers, currently a bag of nerves. Gerenanth could help fix that, to be sure.
Gerenanth, I must say, I’m quite looking forward to getting together with you. It should prove amusing, for both parties I’d hope. Where exactly does G’han have planned to take Aarora? I know how to keep a secret. For the most part Rasth knew he was just giving her a tour of the Weyr, but maybe the bronzerider had something else up his sleeve that her rider would be most certainly unaware of?
No lakes, or beaches, or oceans, Rasth thought to herself, willing to step-in and be bold enough to say so. Calm down Rasth, its fine, I’m fine, Aarora told her, her mental voice strained. You may be able to convince him but never shall you convince me of that Mine. Now, enjoy the day, which I’m sure you’ll do. Aarora, on the other hand, felt like she could use a good swim. Back at her old Weyr she did a lot of swimming, not to mention running. She kept fit and in good shape, never forgetting to take care of her appearance, it was up there on her list of priorities. Something G’han and she had in common, no?

G'han heard her calling him in. He couldn't help it this time, he had to grin. Though this time he really didn't care if it showed. After all, a smile was the best way to enter a room and impress. Right? G'han certainly thought so.
"I'm anything but", G'han responded as he walked through the doorway to her weyr. He walked over to her casually, to find her sitting on her bed. "Didn't wake you, did I?", G'han asked. It probably wasn't likely. Then again, she might have been taking a nap. Who knew?
He intends to show her around the weyr, to the different places that she will need, and may want, to become familiar with. Gerenantly responded softly to his current interest. Gerenanth could charm when he wanted to. Though he did it often enough with any green, or gold for that matter. Then he will end it at his own weyr. Gerenanth continued, making it obvious that was the particular point of interest for all. During this time, you are free to join me on my ledge as promised. Gerenanth ended. It'd save the green time, that was for sure. The bronze was also positive that she'd want his company as well.
Cool it Gerenanth or next time I bathe you, I'll make sure the water is cold. G'han told his bronze with a grin. Gerenanth snorted. Good, we could both use some cold water. He replied back sharply. G'han smirked, he had to admit that was one of Gerenanth's better comebacks.
G'han walked right up to Aarora's bed and took a seat next to her. After all, she did say not to be a stranger. G'han placed both hands on each knee and looked over at her with the best smile he could muster.

Aarora turned to sit on the bed cross-legged, facing his side. “No, don’t worry about; I’ve been awake this whole time.” Her smile remained, glad that he felt comfortable enough to just come and sit. As long as he wasn’t squeamish then she wouldn’t be either, she liked people who knew how to be bold when it was called for and when to be laid back too. “I was expecting you this entire time, didn’t think I’d just go and fall asleep, did you?” she teased him, reaching forward to lightly poke his upper arm. “Though I really could fall asleep right here and now,” she yawned, using the same hand she’d poked him with to cover her mouth politely. She then brought her hand away to rest against the sheet of the bed. “I guess it’ll be your job to keep me awake,” she chortled.
This is good; I want her to be well acquainted with the Weyr. She tends to drift around a lot from place to place, trying to keep herself occupied. I’m sure she’ll be plenty occupied although as the Asst. Candidate Master. Rasth, personally, had wanted Hers to take some time off to just get to know the Weyr for awhile, relaxing and enjoying herself, but she knew that Aarora hated to feel useless. She always needed to feel like she was doing something, helping out, otherwise she wasn’t satisfied. At his weyr, you don’t say? She was teasing the bronze dragon, able to do so just as successfully as her rider teased others. She spoke sarcastically, signifying that she’d expected as much. I shall eagerly join you on your ledge at that time Gerenanth, I look forward to it. The large Green crooned, eyes whirring a rapid mix of blue-green. She did indeed want his company, more than anything, though she wasn’t going to permit herself to come across as anything even semi-close to desperate. We shall prove chaperones for them, yes? she asked the bronze. She came right out and said it, for she felt she needed to. It was not G’han she was worried about, not in the least; it was her rider she was fearful of. If only the pair knew what G’han and Gerenanth were privately conversing about. Aarora would be smirking to herself giddily, feeling as if she had a position of power, and Rasth would be right alongside her with a fed ego.
Aarora leaned forward, her elbows against her knees. Her hair fell over her shoulder, and she found herself admiring G’han’s smile. She could never deny that he was a good-looking young man. He was charming to boot. That charm would do him well with her. One could see the freckles splayed over her nose and cheeks more easily at such a close distance.

"One can never be too sure", G'han said, smile staying. "Sorry for the wait, though", he began. "I was just appointed wingleader, so I've been busy organizing the wing ever since", he explained. Truth be told, he loved the work. G'han did have a thing for organizing, atleast when it came to things like this. He liked to feel needed, important, wanted. A position as wingleader signified this. But as happy as he was with the task before him, he didn't like that it kept him from Aarora this long.
No, he hadn't singled her out just yet. But she was one of those possibilities. G'han was still far from settling. Gerenanth may have said he was ready to move on, but it was at G'han's pace. His pace was slow. He'd get around, meet girls, talk them up, and so on. But he wasn't ready to dive back into any sort of committed relationship. Especially because of how the last one turned out.
Maybe it wasn't so much him being worried about being hurt. Maybe he was also worried about hurting someone else. In his own pain, he managed to hurt more than one person. It reminded him of something someone once said. Better to suffer harm than to harm someone else.
"If you need sleep, I don't mind postponing our tour. Maybe I could use a nap myself?", G'han responded to her with a wink. Flirting, as usual. G'han was good at it, saying what needed to be said at the right opportunity. His tone wasn't serious, nor indicated the subtle proposal was serious. Though to be honest, he wouldn't mind if she actually took him up on it. It'd bring Akki's "It sounds like you're sleeping around" remark to a different level. The thought amused G'han and inwardly he chuckled. Outwardly, he showed no signs of laughing at his own thoughts.
Mine will be more than happy to keep her occupied when he can. The same applies to me with you. Gerenanth's tone was cordial, but he was just as flirty as his rider. Do not tell yours this, but G'han pulled some strings and is having a special dinner prepared during their tour. It is a surprise for her. Gerenanth was near whispering in the green's mind. It was a secret, for sure. Gerenanth was impressed, she had used the word eager. Eager was good in his book, it meant his company was desired. But the bronze expected nothing less from any green. Of course we shall. They will need us to be such. Where would they be without us, after all? The bronze sounded arrogant and sure of himself, but at the same time it was kind and polite, agreeing with the green.
G'han smiled a bit awkwardly as he noticed Aarora seeming to stare at him. "What?", he asked a bit goofy like. No matter how many times it may have happened, G'han couldn't get use to these kinds of moments. Not just yet.

“Hey, no need to apologize,” she said, dismissing his apology with a smirk. “I’m not surprised that you got the position of Wingleader,” she told G’han, having been there when Christae granted him the position. “It suits you. So, done any celebrating yet? Certainly it’s something to be celebrated,” she informed him pointedly. She straightened up, putting her arms out behind her for support. Having someone to sit and talk to like this was nice, refreshing. She’d done her share of flirting with the men in the Weyr thus far. As much as she always wanted the guys committing to her, falling head over heels for her-because it made her feel better, she could understand how their heads would too be turned elsewhere. G’han was no exception.
Aarora had never been ready for a committed relationship in the past, she didn’t expect to start now, and Rasth didn’t expect it from her either. She had imprinted in her mind some of the faces of the other dragonrider’s, and she was bound to continue working her wiles with them all. She really did so more for herself than anything else, was it selfish of her? Well, Rasth most certainly thought so, though it pained her to understand why her rider did so. Aarora tended to beat herself up more often than not.
It was a good thing that G’han was the way he was, for Aarora was capable of doing a lot of hurting. If Rasth thought him the type to be trailing after her, acting like a canine at her feet, then she would’ve most certainly told Gerenanth without hesitation what her rider was like. She could see that the bronzerider was different, though she didn’t doubt at one point in time, if not already, he’s want to get close to her.
“I didn’t think you’d be such a naughty boy so soon,” she said, her voice doused in mischief. “Not that I mind it,” she added soon after. Her tongue traced her lips and she kept on looking to him, as if she was actually considering his ‘offer.’ “Now I see the real purpose of this visit,” she said in a playful tone, toying with him.
Will he now? Rasth replied, not able to hide some of the worry that seeped through in her voice. I’d never object to you keeping me occupied Gerenanth, but I can not always guarantee my availability. Rasth rumbled amusedly at her own comment. That sounds delightful. She shall be very surprised, she doesn’t expect anything of that sort, trust me. Yes, that is what I’m afraid of, hence the mention of chaperoning. Bit by bit she was unintentionally letting Gerenanth know her inner thoughts, though doing so subtly. She was not going to fawn over him like the other greens may have, she was a dragon exacting exclusive devotion, and otherwise she came across as a true beast. No one liked Rasth beastly.
“Oh, nothing,” she coughed, looking away once she realized he’d noticed the fixation of her gaze. She looked up at the ceiling, stretching her body more, whether purposely or not was up to G’han to decide.

G'han chuckled. He really didn't have the time to celebrate yet. Though he could actually excuse later on's dinner plans as a celebration. Though it really wasn't about his becoming wingleader. "Oh nothing too celebrating beyond a couple of drinks with some of the dragonriders of my wing. I haven't had time for much else", he responded to her well. G'han did enjoy small talk. He was also kind of happy that he had someone he could just sit down with and talk to about his day.
He couldn't remember doing this with Rhia very often, either. But he couldn't blame her. They were both busy people then, as they were now. It was something he wondered about sometimes though. Just what had happened between them? The arguement wasn't necessarily the one blow that killed the relationship. It was dying before that. Maybe their relationship was like a good meal. Very good and pleasing to start out with, but after too much of eating the same thing it becomes bland and systematic. Then the bites become less frequent and you eat more and more slugishly until you've decided you've had enough with it. Okay, maybe not the best analogy around. But who said G'han was good with analogies anyway? No one.
G'han raised an eyebrow at her words. "My dear, I don't bed so soon. Despite what you may or may not hear. Is it too much to hold a pretty woman while she rests and that perhaps you may find rest as well?", G'han could pull off charm like no other on rare occassions. This was one of them. He wanted to laugh so hard at how poetic he just sounded. Akki would have gagged if she heard that. He could imagine her doing that now.
Most certainly. Now Gerenanth sounded concern. That's not a problem is it? Gerenanth continued responding, however. Of course, I am on a time frame as well you know. After all, I have a wing to look after now. They will need my strong leadership. Boastful, proud bronze he was. G'han aims to make her feel welcome, and create quite an impression. Such things are necessary. Gerenanth now comforted the green. Do not fret dear Rasth, the mighty Gerenanth is here. Together, they will be well looked after.
G'han smirked. "I know nothing when I see it", he said bluntly. To be honest, that sounded a bit weird to say to him. But that look wasn't nothing, that much he did know.

“Oh? I took you for a gentleman, no worries, your honour is not in question,” she said, chuckling along with him. “Well, a bit of celebration is better than none at all. I’m sure those in your wing appreciate having a leader such as yourself.” She meant what she said; he seemed to take his work as seriously as she did. If nothing else they had that in common, though it seemed they had many more things in common as well. His words had sounded quite poetic, she hadn’t really expected it. She was taken with anyone who was good with words. “No, I can’t say that it would be, in the least,” she answered whether he’d intended for her to answer or not. She could see his charm being practiced, and was laughing on the inside, his presence delighted her. She enjoyed feeling this way, happy, light of heart.
Rasth wasn’t sure how to answer that question, saying yes would be the honest answer, but she let it pass. She trusted that Gerenanth would keep his word on keeping an eye on matters; she knew she most certainly would be. Two dragons keeping an eye on things were more than enough. Nothing worth mentioning, she replied, though it was clear that she wasn’t convinced of her words herself. And strong leadership you shall provide great bronze, how lucky they are. I can see that you are mighty Gerenanth, it comforts me so. She was buttering him up, more than willing to do so.
She slowly looked back to him, taking her sweet time in doing so, a nervous smirk dancing across her lips now, but the mischievousness was still evident in her eyes, her whole being giving off clear signals and movements that let in on her minds inner workings. “Then what, G’han,” she said, his name being said with care, “Do you suspect that it was? I’d like to hear your theory, if you’ve got one.” She found herself chuckling again, but it was a different kind-of chuckle, more of a: You’ve got it just right but I’m going to make you think otherwise kind-of chuckle. (Funny that a simple chuckle can say so much, isn’t it?) She didn’t speak, letting him think over what she’d said in that he could come up with a suitable answer for her.
Be good, Rasth said quietly to Aarora. Like I’m not capable of being ‘good?’ You cause me distress by pretending like each time is going to be so much more different than the last. Hey, don’t go judging me now Rasth, I don’t exactly appreciate it. The strenuous conversation that she was having with her green was kept hidden, for her face revealed nothing.
No matter how much I talk to you about this you act just as oblivious as every other time. Use some common sense Mine, there are other ways of relief. Such a conversation would make no sense whatsoever to the bronzerider and his dragon.

"I suppose you're right. Though maybe later on there will be time to celebrate", G'han added after his response to her. He could certainly hope for a more formal celebration anyway. He knew one or two that wouldn't mind him as wingleader. He certainly had Q'sin's support from what he heard him say when he first arrived. His wingsecond, however, was where he truely needed it. One always needed the backing of their second if a wing was to succeed. Telgar taught him well.
G'han smirked at her response. "Don't tell me you're taking me up on the proposal?", he questioned her in a flirty manner. Not that he'd mind either way. He started to get the impression Aarora was a bit like that as well. Bold, flirty, but over all casual and went with the flow. It's probably why he felt so comfortable being so flirty and suggestive with her, because he was starting to see some similarity.
Your words are too kind, Rasth. But well appreciated. Gerenanth decided to pass on the subject and skip to the more lighthearted one. If she wanted to tell him, she would. Far be it for the bronze to prod her into doing so.
"A guessing game then?", G'han questioned her. Well fine, he'd play along then. "Alright. Want to know my theory? You think I'm attractive and can't keep your eyes off me", G'han responded to her game quickly, and with a smug smirk to boot.

“I just might be...” she trailed off, tilting her head to the side, her curls doing there per usual bounce. “Though it depends, how badly do you want it?” she said, flirting right on back. She was glad to be able to continue on in this manner with such ease. At one point men starting figuring they could take her flirtatious behaviour seriously, and began trying to find opportunities to “make their moves.” She saw right through most of them, and didn’t stop them from trying; she baited them, while not letting them get very far. She didn’t feel as if G’han was going in that direction, but she’d been wrong before, so why not now? Right now it didn’t matter all that much to her anyhow, she just wanted the company, which she’d already got.
Where do you think this conversation is going to go? Rasth wondered. Unlike her rider she really did want to know what G’han’s intentions were. The last thing she wanted was to insult Gerenanth by assuming anything of the sort about his life partner, but she simply had to know.
Pardon me for asking, but G’han is more the type to develop things slowly, yes? He seems the type. Ah, good, she’d managed to voice her question in a way that made G’han sound good. Now it was up to Gerenanth to say anything negative, if there was anything negative to say.
Aarora didn’t bother to deny it. “That’s your theory?” she questioned, raising an eyebrow. She batted her eyes comically. She held in all sounds of laughter that would give her away, “Right on the nose. I could tell right away that you’d be a smart one. Of course we’re good as long as I can keep my hands to myself, right? Or is that you...” she paused, “who might have trouble with that?” Her voice was incredibly soft sounding. She bit her lip, angling her head just right to give him one of her most innocent looks. You, innocent? Please. What is Pern coming to? Rasth knew that her rider was faking her innocence, intending for G’han to see that she was too, but even Rasth couldn’t deny that she pulled the look off quite well. Kind-of like a puppy looking for a treat. As long as G’han didn’t give her one then things would be just fine.
Aarora’s past history was something that those in her old Weyr knew about. Well she was highly respected her track record with men wasn’t spoke of fondly. It’s not that she was a ‘sleep-around,’ it’s simply that she was a ‘lead-on.’ Things didn’t hold much permanence with her, for she feared letting others in. A good worker, and a good friend, just not a good girlfriend was all... Not that she cheated, not that she wasn’t sweet and gave the guys the kind-of feeling they desired, but again the permanence was an issue for her. There was a time when she got the “its getting too serious, time to flee” shivers and did so, disappearing for a time, making the boyfriend question what he’d done wrong. Then, when she came back, she avoided them like the plague, and pretended as if there had never been anything between them in the first place, unless she felt she needed the comfort, the support, then she’d go back to them with her tail between her legs-pulling out all the stops.

There was no smirk, no witty reply, and nothing overly flirtatious about it. "As far as you let me go", was his response. This was one of G'han's gentlemanly aspects. There wasn't going to be any guessing or making a move, not one like this without her consent. Despite it being a simple nap. It was also one of his more laid back aspects. He was allowing her the lead in this, he didn't care to walk himself. Not this time, not with this.
As far as yours let's it go. My rider does have certain boundaries. Gerenanth answered her with admittance to his rider. But he was about to give away more aspects of his rider as he answered her next question. Oh most certainly. I did say G'han was ready to move on, but he's not ready to commit to anyone yet.
G'han smirked as she responded to his theory. Then when the question of hands came up, he gave her a very obvious once over and looked up, stroking his chin. "Hmmm", he thought aloud. There was a dramatic pause before he continued. "It would be very difficult, but I think I can keep my hands to myself", G'han replied. He looked at her again with a smile. "But if you feel it's too much to keep your hands off me, I won't hold that against you", he continued, the tone obviously flirty. Small talk mixed in with some flirtation here and there. This was certainly going to be a very, very pleasant day.
"But if you keep giving me one of those looks, I most certainly won't be able to keep my hands to myself", G'han responded to her innocent look. If it sounded any bit dirty at all, he was about to kill that. "You look so adorable, I could just pinch those cheeks", he said in the squeekiest voice he could manage. Well, she did look adorable like that.

Rasth was relieved beyond compare, though the waves coming off of Hers were still a heavy weight on her mind. He sounds too good to be true, and I mean that in a nice way, for he most certainly is a good man. I can see that. Rasth grumbled on about her rider privately to herself. Now that you’ve been so kind as to answer my questions, I must make a note to tell you that Mine has a habit of attaching herself to people. While she means well, and is mostly sincere, she fears commitment rather then not being so much as ready for it, though one could likely take that as the same thing. She felt as if she’d betrayed Hers, hoping that Gerenanth would keep this information to himself.
“I see, well, that’s good to know,” she said, moving the subject elsewhere. She had perhaps wanted G’han to respond differently? She let it show, by accident, getting-up off the bed. She took a step in the direction of the doorway, “Oh no worries, I think I’ll manage to keep my composure. Cute, huh, I’ll take it,” she shrugged, smiling in a friendly-manner. “Shall we?” she asked, obviously meaning that she wished to begin their tour. Nothing like wasting daylight hours, especially since there didn’t seem to be a lot of daylight hours to waste with both of their duties. Starting the tour is a great idea; don’t be so dulled just because you didn’t get your ego fed.
Rasth’s words were starting to get to her, but no matter, she was perfectly fine just ignoring the dragon until she did have something important to say, by her standards. “Can’t wait to see all there is to see here,” she expressed to G’han, knowing there was a lake here. She really just needed to cool off and drown her worries, as a figure of speech of course. She leaned against the doorway, having already made her way over to it, just waiting for him now. She leaned against the nearest wall, calling out teasingly: “Coming cutie pie?” Indeed this day would prove interesting.

I did my best with him. This is only a result of my guidance. Gerenanth could lie all he wanted to, but it was all in good fun and helped keep the charm. G'han wasn't going to say anything against it either. He was far too distracted.
Distracted by the reaction he got from her. He was nearly tempted to take back his response and say "Hey, a nap sounds like a good idea. Let's curl up". He certainly didn't want her to take offense. But G'han also let it roll off him easily. He still had plenty of time to spend with her and get to know her. No use jumping in bed with her on the get go, right? Well, he wasn't going to push for that move anyway. If it would have happened right then and there, he would have went along with it. It was just his nature to go with the flow.
G'han got up as well, following behind her, and giving her a once over while her back was turned. Get in a look while you can get away with it. He had to admit, she was more than just adorable. She was down right hot. Just his luck to be able to give this pretty lady a tour of the weyr...and finish up at his place. If nothing else, they could nap there. Right? If she was so disappointed in not being able to be in the bronzerider's strong, protective arms. They were strong, weren't they? G'han certainly thought so. Pride was getting the better of his thoughts right now.
"Cute is one word to describe you, yes", G'han spoke up, taken from his thoughts. There were several other words he could think of at that moment. G'han smiled when she called him cutie pie. Already with the pet names? "Of course beautiful", he responded in turn as he walked over to her, and held his arm out. He was to guide her, after all.

He’d be a lost cause without you, would he? Careful Gerenanth, you are starting to sound like a god among dragons, though how could I really complain? Having a dragon god as a friend is most certainly appealing. Rasth was teasing the poor bronze immensely, indicating with her words that he seemed to enjoy inflating his own ego, with or without her help. She’d expect as much from a bronze, though Gerenanth had a bit of something... different about him that she found particularly amusing. While he could be a braggart like the best of them, which wasn’t necessarily a bad thing, he also had a sincere compassion that was hard not to be fond of. When she spoke to him she felt listened to, and she wondered if this treatment would continue on throughout her time of better getting to know him.
It was a matter of whether or not Aarora would have taken him up on his offer, for one could never really know. She knew that, when it came to her response, G’han may not have expected her to respond in the way she had. Expect the unexpected, she thought, for as far as she was concerned the unexpected was all a person ever got. She didn’t exactly enjoy being a disappointment, though teasing was her forte. She too could be like G’han sometimes, going with the flow, though it was smart to note that this one also, at times, had an agenda.
She’d get a chance to see just who he really was, and whether or not her preconceived idea of him was right or wrong. She hated judging a book by its cover, but everyone did it, whether subconsciously or not. She wasn’t about to permit herself to be felled by this human ere however, rather, she was going to form a true opinion later on. Where he was as of current on her scale, he’d just have to find that one out for himself. Aarora’s standards were tricky to pin, more concealed than anything, so really these standards of hers weren’t exactly publicly known. If one was to be in a relationship with her, friendship or otherwise, it was a true guessing game until they got her pegged down. Talking about personal matters, now that was no forte of hers.
By the time he’d made the comment about cute being “one word to describe her,” she was facing him. “Beautiful, huh, I can get used to that” she chuckled, seeming more than willing to take his offered arm. “Oh, and by the way? I wouldn’t mind hearing about those “other words” during the tour.” He was just pulling out all the stops, wasn’t he? She liked to be made to feel special, what girl didn’t? If he was willing to treat her well she wasn’t about to turn him down. And the fun begins! the green sent to Gerenanth cheerily.

I'm not one to brag, but one can't help the impression he gives. That was such a lie, Gerenanth would so brag. But it was all about impression and his tone was obviously comical so it wasn't to be taken as straight fact.
"Why of course. I'd only be too happy to tell you", he spoke cordially to her with a slight bow before his arm was taken. This certainly would be nice, walking arm in arm with a beautiful girl around the weyr. Just a simple, leisurely walk. To be honest, G'han never really thought much of spending personal time with another girl. He hadn't really had any official weyrmate since he left Dark Moon.
Sure, there were a few flights Gerenanth won and G'han managed to stay around a couple of the dragonrider women. But it was never anything permanent or all that personal. G'han managed to dive head first in his duties at Telgar. But something about Dark Moon made him something different. He was willing to accept personal involvement here. Maybe it was because it was a personal type weyr, being so small. Maybe it was because he'd finally settled things with Rhia and was getting back into the role of father.
No one really knew, not even G'han himself. But this had to be the first closest thing he'd had to personal involvement since Rhia. He certainly wouldn't have spent his free time walking a new female greenrider around Telgar. But to be honest, something about Aarora was different. G'han was all too eager to figure out what exactly made her such a different case.
Arm in arm they strode out her weyr, the tour beginning. G'han had a bit of a smirk on his face. "So you seemed to pick up on the nicknaming pretty quick. Can't remember the last time I was called cutie pie", G'han told her with a chuckle as they headed to the kitchens. Well, G'han did think that was one of the most important places a dragonrider should know about. Food was very important to G'han. Though it was obvious by his physique that he didn't over indulge.
It certainly does. Gerenanth agreed. Perhaps now that they have left, you can come join me. I shall make room for you on my ledge. It was a suggestion, but Gerenanth made it pretty obvious he expected her to accept it. But best to let her think she had a free choice in the matter, even if Gerenanth thought he knew the answer already.

Rasth snorted, like she’d believe that, what a silly bronze. Males, she muttered to him quietly, half hoping he hadn’t heard. When the offer came to join him on his ledge she perked right up, bugling as if she’d just won a great prize. I shall not hesitate to join you Gerenanth, though I’m sure you expected as much. Rasth took off from her own ledge, sending feelings of happiness and gratitude along to her rider. The great beast flew with such grace, sending mental images to Aarora of what she could see from the outside view. Her rider nearly gasped at how clear the pictures in her head were, coming at her more quickly than what she could process. They’re beautiful Rasth, really, but try to slow it down. You’re going to give me a migraine, Aarora complained.
Gerenanth, it’s such a beautiful day, lucky for you it’s only going to get better in my presence. Rasth was half joking, half not, permitting herself to have a moment to soak in some of Gerenanth’s praise. Once the great bronze was in her sights she crooned, slowing down her speed to come to a remarkably gentle landing-for a dragon-on his ledge next to him. Gerenanth, she said softly, craning her neck in a unique bow, her wedge-shaped head lowering respectfully.
“How about you let me in on at least one of them now, I’m far too curious.” She eyed him curiously, wondering if he’d tell her or not. She couldn’t help but laugh when he repeated what she’d called him before they left-cutie pie. “Nicknames can be pretty personal. The more unique they are the more they can be appreciated, or so I find. Trust me, cutie pie was on the bottom of my list, there were other possibilities rolling around up here,” she let him know; tapping the side of her head with a finger. Aarora didn’t know all that much about G’han’s past with Rhia, actually, she knew hardly anything about it at all. Rasth had filled her in on some tidbits from her conversations with Gerenanth, but never had she heard anything of it from G’han himself. Was he trying to forget, leave it in the past, or had he already gotten over it? It sure seems like he’s past it now. Aarora wasn’t going to let the idea of what might be bother her, she was enjoying herself now and that’s all that mattered. G’han sure seemed to be far from minding her there with him; he’d been the one to initiate this gathering of sorts after all. He too had been the one to attempt to initiate whatever that was back there at her weyr. Time will tell, she reminded herself wisely. She hated waiting because often it was a painful process, though if the road to getting to ones hoped for destination was sugar-coated? Then why worry? She knew G’han would better make his intentions clear later on, maybe even today, or next week, or even in a month’s time. Whatever the case, she was in no rush... right?
I’m interested to see where all of this goes, for you and I both, Rasth said to Aarora. The contentment in her voice came as a bit of a surprise to Aarora. Usually her dragon wasn’t this jolly, it suited her far better. Me too Rasth, the woman sent back, keeping an even pace with G’han as they walked down the hall. The scent of food wafted around her, and she closed her eyes, taking in a deep breath of the overwhelming scents. “Mm, now that is good,” she said to no one in particular, her tone quite... seductive? Her eyes were closed over lightly; she seemed to trust G’han’s lead.

If Gerenanth did hear it, he ignored it. He was far too pleased that the green took his offer in joining him. Perhaps I did. Gerenanth's tone was pretty obvious he did expect her to accept. When the green was in sight, he crooned just as pleasantly in greeting her. When she went to land on his ledge, he shifted over to give her room. When she was settled, the bronze bumped her lightly in a sort of playful manner and a greeting of sorts. As if to say, "Welcome to my ledge". Yes, the day is much better now that I am in your presence, dear Rasth.
G'han took his idle hand and tapped his chin lightly as he looked up a bit, thinking to himself. He could atleast give her one word. But he didn't want to overdo it. G'han wasn't one to show all his cards so soon. So what was better than cute? He was positive beautiful was just too soon. There needed to be an inbetween. The bronzerider stopped tapping his chin and snapped his fingers, he'd found his answer. "Pretty", he finally said. "That's another word that describes you", he finished. He felt it was beyond cute, but not quite up to beautiful. It'd do for now.
"I'm sure you're curiousity will be quenched for now", he said with a smile as they entered the kitches. G'han looked around and sniffed in the air. He could smell all the pleasing auromas of food and beverage alike. "Speaking if which. I see we get a bit to eat and something to wash it down with", he said to her as he walked her over towards the food. G'han looked over to her when she mentioned it was at the bottom of her list. "Well, I'll just have fun making my way up that ladder then", G'han said jokingly, smile included. What was the fun if he didn't get to work up to something?
G'han noted the way she spoke. She seemed to enjoy the smell, but the tone was something that nearly wanted to send shivers down his spine. Thankfully he was more reserved with his reactions than that. "As are many things", G'han said vaguely, yet playfully with a wink.

Rasth breathed out a puff of air that hit against Gerenanth’s hide when he acted out playfully. Your honesty is appreciated Gerenanth, she had him know. She really did appreciate honesty, especially if it benefited her. So Gerenanth, now that you have the chance to ask me anything you will, what shall you ask? she wondered. Surely he wanted to get to know her better, and she too willed to know more about him in return. Here was their chance. But first, let me ask you something. The same rules apply to female dragons as they do for female humans, we get to go first. So, now that I’ve given you such a helpful tip, I shall ask my question. What is your one truest desire Gerenanth the mighty bronze? Right into heartfelt feeling questions, that was Rasth for you. Oh well, if he answered he answered; if not then she’d wait until he was comfortable enough to. If he’d asked her such a question she would’ve been a bit thrown, she expected the same from him really, in some ways it wasn’t fair of her to ask such personal things of him so early on. How else was she to get to know him although if she couldn’t acknowledge his deep inner workings?
“Pretty, a common word, but it holds enough meaning,” she told him. The way she looked at him signified she wasn’t quite satisfied with his response, but it was of no consequence. “Are these words just going to keep on getting better and better G’han until I’m astounded with your vocabulary?” she teased. “To be fair I’ll relinquish another word of mine. Handsome, how’s that? It’s charming, though commonly used as well.” She gauged his reaction carefully.
“I must agree to getting a bite to eat, I’m famished, and I fear that Rasth will lash out if I’m not properly fed. Not at you mind you, more so me.” She didn’t want him thinking her psychotic green was going to swoop down from the sky and chew his face off just because he was with her and hadn’t spoon fed her some tantalizing food. Though, Rasth likely would make a comment on that scene if it ever were to take place. “As long as you’re having fun, then what else matters?” she said, drawling out her words for dramatic effect. She released his arm when they had arrived in the kitchens, heading over to the counter to see if anything prepared had been left out in the open to be preyed on, looking back over her shoulder to glance at him appreciatively. She then spun around on her heel after taking in the counters contents, coming back over to G’han, standing in front of him a little closer than even she’d intended. “Care to explain what branches out to your list of many things?” she chuckled softly, slanting her head as she looked up at him. He had some height on her, to be sure, but what girl didn’t appreciate a tall man? She traced a finger along her jaw line while she pondered what her own response to that question might be. She and Rasth both liked to know things.

Gerenanth listened patiently to Rasth. But towards the end, he had to admit the question threw him a bit. It was something a bit deep and personal to start right off the bat. But he'd answer it in true bronze Gerenanth fashion. My one truest desire? To be the best there is. He wasn't so much a rank grabber. He was glad that G'han got the position he did, but he wouldn't allow him to just settle anywhere. If they could be better, they would be. There was always room for improvement. Now it is my turn. And Gerenanth was ready for his turn. If the green could be so personal, then the bronze could too. How does yours feel about mine right now? Gerenanth was curious. G'han obviously had his interest piqued by this greenrider, and the two did spend some time together and he'd only imagine it continuing. But it was always best to get a perspective from the other side, right?
"That was simply one word. You didn't expect me to go all out on just the second round, did you?", G'han asked her. He wasn't ready to go all out, not yet. He'd build up, just to keep things moving at an even pace. "Handsome, huh? I like that, even if it is common", G'han responded to her next word. He had to admit he liked her thinking he was handsome, it would only build up his esteem and ego. Though for a bronzerider, G'han didn't have much of an ego comparatively. "My turn I suppose", G'han spoke up as he tapped his chin again. He looked around at all the food and removed his fingers from his chin.
"After we eat", G'han finally said. He decided he'd go after he had his fill of food and beverage. He poured himself a cup of klah and motioned over to Aarora, asking her if she'd want a cup for herself as well. Better to know if she liked the stuff or not. "Oh, many things matter more than my fun", G'han admitted as he took a slice of bubbly pie and a couple meatrolls. Motioning to her again, asking her what she wanted him to fix for her.
But G'han noticed she had now returned to him, and in much closer proximity than last time. There was slight tension in that lack of distance for G'han. He certainly didn't want her farther away, and he had to wonder if he wanted her any closer. There seemed to be some tingling feeling at the base of his neck, right on his spine. But he wasn't going to show it, though it'd be obvious to Aarora that there was some sort of tension in her closeness to him. G'han remembered how observant she had been. "That'd take some time listing. Probably more time than I've got left to live", G'han said coolly with a pleasant smile. The tension didn't necessarily fade, but he was certainly hiding it well now. G'han could play it cool when he needed.
