"I'll hold you to your word T'ran." The bluerider warned him somberly, shaking a finger at him. She motioned to the Weyr with her arms, "You have to help get this place back to snuff. Expect a hard core cleaning in your near future." She let her arms drop to her side, swinging them slightly as she shook her head, "I'll be the one to decide whether or not you're an invaluable asset or not."
"Oh T'ran." Akki almost cooed as she cocked her head to the side. "Are you, perhaps, trying to flirt with me?" If he was, she did have to give him points for being forward.
She shook her head as a 'No'. "I had no idea you were raised there." She paused, thoughts wondering before a grin appeared on her face. "Does this mean you can serenade me whenever I ask, being from Harper Hall and all." Deep down she did always wanted to be serenaded, how could she not? However, she would have to remind herself not to giggle all the way through it. Things like that could damage someone's self esteem.
Akki snorted as Tanwen replied to the bronzerider. "Now now Tanwen. That's no way to make someone feel welcome." She happily chided the girl with a crooked grin. She gave credit to Tanwen though, it was a witty response. She tapped her fingers on her arm as she eyed Tanwen, "Wait. Does this mean you have a type of guy you prefer?" She asked with curiousity.

“Why, of course you will,” the bronze rider responded in turn, laughing to himself slightly at this girl’s child-like charisma. She was quite likeable, in a couple ways. “I would want no other deciding my value to this weyr, naturally.”
She called you out on your flirtation, T’ranmine. Fallieth chimed in. His constant stating of the obvious wasn’t tiresome, really… but it was losing some of that amusement it had had when the bronze was just a hatchling. I realize this, my friend, the rider responded, but don’t worry, I can work with it.
Her question caught him off guard. Were they truly so forward down here in Dark Moon? Oh well, he could change up his game a bit. Half the fun in pursuing was the chase, after all. “I do not try at much, Akki,” he responded, grinning in a way that had charmed people before, “I find that I succeed far too often for such things, after all.”
“You couldn’t tell that I was raised in the Hall?” he asked, truly striking up an indignant demeanor. “I am appalled. But yes, I suppose I can serenade you whenever you ask, if that is what you truly wish for me to do. But I must warn you, that would increase my value to the weyr, would it not? You would have to balance your want to be serenaded with your want to win this bet.”
The other girl, Tanwen, truly did worry him. T’ran had never truly dealt with a lesbian before, and was quite worried about how she would react to him. You’re still ready to fly away, aren’t you? With how worried you are, T’ranmine? I’m absolutely ready to go. The fact that dear Fallieth would not fail him was more than one safety net.
There was something about this Tanwen, though, that made T’ran feel guilty. Was it for his own gender, that some other man made this woman unhappy enough that she would choose to run into the arms of another female? Or was it something else? Her name struck a chord in his mind, and the notes that made up the chord were distant, faded memories, the slower first movement of his life, before the crescendo picked up the pace. He had not listened to this part of his song in many years, and was surprised at its intricacy. There was one note in particular that added a discord to the entire piece, and she was plucking it with wild abandon.
“Tanwen, you say? That name does sound familiar.”

Christae emerged from her office, blinking in the bright sun of the Southern Continent. It was hard to believe that she was so used to the heat. When she had first come to the Weyr the heat was almost unbearable. Now she barely noticed it. She wiped the dust off her hands and started towards the Lower Caverns. She could have taken the tunnels but she was tired of the dimmness. The hides that made up part of Dark Moon's records were falling apart and she was trying to transcribe them so that the records were not lost. She was tempted to enlist the help of the Harpers. Wolf would be helping her this afternoon but she had wanted to get a head start.
Now she was stretching her legs and going for a glass of juice. She caught sight of a small group in the Weyrbowl and a bronze she did not recognize. One of the people was Akki, and the other was a Candidate that she hadn't taken the time to meet. She headed over to say hello. She had been neglecting that part of her duty. The people of the Weyr understood but she still tried to do what she could. Wolf was taking on more and more of the social duties as Christae took care of the rest of the running of the Weyr.
"Good day to you all. Welcome to Dark Moon Weyr. I am Christae of senior Queen Kaith."

"I'd say you earned extra points for saying such a thing, but that wouldn't work in my advantage. So you're not getting them." The bluerider said with a crooked grin. It was clear she was going to make this as difficult as possible for the new bronze rider.
Poor T'ran. Not everyone at Dark Moon was so blunt, but Akki sure was. He was going to learn that fast enough no doubt. Almost everyone at the Weyr knew that Akki wasn't one for being subtle. She called it a curse, her and her loud mouthed lack of restraint. "I won't fall for your charming ways T'ran." She warned in advance, winking at him as she said this fact. The wink seemed quite hypocritical to what she had just said.
Akki frowned. "Fine, no serenadings then." She said with a sigh. She did not want to lose this bet and she had no intentions of helping him out. Sure he was new so she would at least play nice. But Akki wasn't the overly helpful type to begin with and giving him points where they weren't earned seemed far too nice for her. Was she becoming cynical with age?
Akki twisted her body, grinning as she caught sight of her friend. "Hello Christae. How are you doing? And what about Kaith?" She wondered if people were so friendly and casual towards their Weyrwoman at other Weyrs. She couldn't help it though, the woman was a childhood friend of hers. Plus Christae had a bunch of duties so it was rare for Akki to see her friend when she wasn't piled down with work.

[Sorry for the delay in this post, guys. It's been a busy week for me xD]
Tanwen looked over at Akki's question and rolled her eyes once. She should've figured that a comment like that would get at least one question into her personality. "It's certainly not this type," she replied, sending another glare towards T'ran when she said it. "I'm still waiting for a guy to prove they're not all pompous dimglows with a one track mind." Well, she'd become good friends with Z'ayr, but he didn't exactly count into the category of guy she was talking about.
The candidate looked back to T'ran when he commented on her name, narrowing her eyes a bit in a partially suspicious way. "I don't see why it should," she said. "I think I would remember if I'd met someone that beats L'der on the annoyance scale." She clenched her fists a bit tighter to her sides. "You're all the same, anyway." She took a step towards T'ran. "All just--"
She might've actually started onto a rant, but that's when the Weyrwoman's voice gave a greeting to the three of them. Tanwen bit down on her bottom lip and stepped back from the bronze rider, crossing her arms to try and hide how clenched her fists were. "Morning, Weyrwoman Christae," she said curtly, trying to take as much of the seeth out of her voice as she could. It wouldn't exactly be best to have the Weyrwoman seeing her talk trash to the new transfer rider; probably a good idea to at least try and play nice for now.

“My charming ways?” T’ran responded, putting on a very shocked face. “Why… I have no charming ways at all. In fact, I believe that I scare most people away through my utter lack of charm. It is a curse, and really my burden to bear.” He was enjoying this little game of cat and mouse. “And I could still serenade you some time, if you wish. And we’ll consider it a secret, so that it does not count.”
Tanwen started going off on a rant, after commenting to Akki that she had some sort of type of preferred male. Well, if she didn’t prefer other females, then how could she possibly hate T’ran? She didn’t even know him! And, for that matter, he didn’t know this L’der, or how he might be a pompous dimglow, or any of that nonsense. If he was a lesser person, he might be offended.
On the bright side, I do not think she will physically assault you, T’ranmine. It’s all because of my charm, Fallieth. You know how it works.
“Hey, I’m not a dimglow!” he had interrupted at one point, and was about to offer a full retord when yet another lady came up. What was this, Amazonia? Surely there were some men around here. Not that he preferred them. Oh no.
When she introduced herself as the Weyrwoman, T’ran gave her a short bow and spoke with a respectful voice. “Weyrwoman, it is an honor to meet you. I am T’ran, and this is my bronze, Fallieth. We are the new transfers from Fort. I hear you have a bit of a population issue?”

"Hello Akki. Kaith and I are well. We've been busy, but that is nothing new in this Weyr. How are you and Ebbeth today?" Christae smiled at her old friend. She, Rhia, and Christae were the only riders left from the original clutch. She never minded Akki and Rhia calling her by her name instead of her title. She would prefer some of the other riders to do the same, especially the riders who had been there the longest like G'han but most of them preferred to remain formal out of respect. Christae didn't realize that she had just saved T'ran from being torn apart verbally by her friend and the young Candidate.
"How are you, Tanwen is it?" Christae turned her attention to the girl, wanting to make sure she was linking the right person and name in her head.
"It is a pleasure to meet you as well rider T'ran. I hope that this day finds you and your bronze well. We do have a lack of full riders. Your arrival certainly helps to remedy that."
Good Morning Ebbeth. Welcome Fallieth. Kaith's tone was warm and friendly, she was in a good mood today. She was glad to speak to her old clutchmate again and pleased that there was another bronze for her weyr.

umped Tanwen slightly with a grin. “I’m going to set you up with Tanwen, one day I will. Just wait and see.” She promised the candidate, fully aware that she was probably horribly annoying the girl. Of course she would have to wait until Tanwen was out of candidate and weyrling status before setting the girl up. Had to obey the Weyr’s rules and all, you know. This did, however, give her plenty of time to find someone to suit Tanwen. Akki snickered at Tanwen’s comment. “L’der isn’t annoying per say. Just…” She trailed off. There was no way to describe L’der, in all honesty. It just wasn’t possibly to sum him up in one word.
Akki playfully hit T’ran in the shoulder. “Just keep your charming ways in your pants, yeah?” She teased with a laugh. She’s considered his offer on serenading her and smiled slightly. She had never been serenaded before. It was tempting to take up his offer one day, just to see what it would be like. She’d just have to remind herself not to giggle halfway through. That could do some serious self-esteem damage.
“One day, you’re going to need a vacation Christae. I am more than willing to take over the Weyr for said one day.” Akki replied, eyes glittering deviously. The idea of Akki being a Weyrwoman probably frightened many, many people. “Ebbeth and I are doing well. We’ve been doing the usual, nothing exciting for us.” Akki said with a slight grin, wishing something exciting would come along for her and her blue to tackle.

When the Weyrwoman turned to send her greetings to T'ran, Tanwen took the opportunity to send one last glare in his direction, intended to be a reply to his retorting that he wasn't a dimglow. She really was not a fan of this guy's, and though lately she'd been trying to turn over a new leaf and be more welcoming to people she met, Tanwen was making an exception for this man. Frankly, she'd decided that she basically hated him. She wasn't sure why, but part of her was thinking she must have a pretty good reason, and that eventually he'd screw up in some way to make that reason known.
She looked over to Akki at her comment, lifting an eyebrow at the promise to set her up with someone one day. "Oh really?" she said, clearly intrigued by the idea. "You must really like looking for a challenge then." Tanwen regarded her for a moment, thinking over the idea, and then shrugged. "Fine. I'll hold you to that, come a few turns."
