Anassa thought for a moment when K'tan asked her if she intended to walk the tables soon. "I think I would like to. I have been so happy and busy with Priath, I never gave it any thought. I suppose I could ask the Weyrwoman if she would either let me go back to the Harper Hall part of the day to finish my training or see if we have any Master Harpers here who would train me. I love to sing and play my pipes so it would be great to at least become a Journeywoman. I think I was due to walk the tables next time they did the ceremony anyway."
She winced at first as he began applying the numbweed but then the blessed numbness spread over the cuts, dousing the fire from the scratches in cool waves.
"Hmm. That sounds like a good enough name as any. Hello little Kyou." She reached out to pet the little creature as well. "I think I remember something about beasts like this sensing fear. If you want I can help you do some research on him while you are taking care of your wing duties. I still haven't been assigned to a formal wing. The former Weyrling Wing still practices together but it isn't reallly official."
Anassa studied the bandage while she thought abou the delimma of hiding the cub while they reported. "Maybe stretch a tether across somewhere and then tie a smaler teather to that so he can't reach anything? I don't really know what we could do in such a short time."

K`tan really couldn`t be sure whether or no there were any Master Harpers at Dark Moon. He`d certainly never heard of one, but then again, he`d come as a transfer and had nothing to do with harpering, really. So therefore, he couldn`t have said one way or the other. He smiled, though-it was a good goal, really. Having a craft and having a dragon? One wouldn't be bored easily, that was for sure. He'd heard of journeyman healers, and journeyman harpers, who had impressed. There was no reason why Anassa, a fully graduated rider, shouldn't be able to finish walking the tables.
"That's a good goal. You really should, if you were that close to it to begin with. I'm sure the Weyrwoman would approve, though I don't know if we have a Masterharper at Dark Moon." He looked down at the cub and then back up at Anassa. The fact that she was willing to keep his little secret and now was offering to help him out was not lost on the bluerider. He was quite grateful.
"I don't suppose I could tether him-he might just chew right through, and if someone were to see him? Maybe I could build him a pen in my Weyr, though? I doubt he'd chew through wood or stone...though I'm no expert at stone crafting, perhaps I could learn from what records there are of it. As for help? I'd very much appreciate any you could give me. I have no knowledge of these little guys beyond that they are carnivorous and much like our domestic felines in many ways." He sighed, ruffling the cub's fur, and then murmered, "Kyou...you are going to be a handful." He looked back up at Anassa, and then, "now there's the trouble of getting him back to the Weyr. I guess if we land outside my Weyr I could get to work trying to figure out some way to keep him in place."
He looked around him, at the type of wood laying about. Then, motioning to the trees, "well, there's good wood here. I could get some and build a pen and then have Vyralth bring it back...if I made it here, it would be more conspicuous." He would have to get some tools to build with, however...that would require going back to the Weyr first. So, he raised an eyebrow at Anassa, and asked, "do you think you could do me a small favor? I'm sorry to ask, considering I've already burdened you enough..."

Anassa mentally glanced over the riders she had met since coming to the weyr. She hadn't met all of them but there weren't many more that she hadn't met yet. "I don't think we have a Master Harper either."
"We just need to find a place to keep him until after we report back to Rhia. Do you have a chest or something that you could prop open just enough to let him breathe but then weigh the top down to keep him in until you can return and build a pen for him?"
"What would you need me to do?" She was willing to help but she didn't want to get in trouble. "We have to watch how much time we take because we don't want Rhia sending someone out after us thinking we are in some sort of trouble."

"Could you tell Rhia that I'm all right, and that I stayed out here to skin my pelts? I have to get that pen built before I go back, or there will be no way to keep this little guy contained. I can send Vyralth back without me just to get my axe, since I can do everything but cut down the saplings I need. However, Rhia will undoubtedly wonder where I am if you return alone..." He wasn't asking her to lie-thank Faranth-but he was asking her to hide his other ulterior motive for being out here. He would have skinned pelts to show for it, however, so she would be free from any trouble.
Vyralth rumbled agreeably, and inclined his head to look at Rhia. *I can have the things brought here immediately, if the word is given. K'tanmine is very organized, and I know where he keeps his things,* the blue sent, a tone of teasing in his voice. K'tan mock glared at the blue. It was true-he was a very neat person, and everything was easy to find in his Weyr.

"Rhia will have my hide if I leave you here in the brush. We can have our dragons tell her we are safe but it took us longer than we thought to find the cubs. In the meantime I'll help you build the pen and transport it back to your weyr and we'll return to Rhia after. If we hurry she won't know the difference."
She is right. Rhia sent us in a pair because it is safer. She would fuss if we separated.
"Do you need to get the ax yourself? Or can Vyralth get it for you?"

"Smart thinking," K'tan admonished. It was true-Rhia wouldn't be pleased if he stayed while Anassa went back. He'd been so caught up with the details of what he was going to do that he hadn't exactly thought of that. So, he nodded and asked, "do you have any experience working with wood?" He himself had done several minor projects here and there. Buildling a pen wasn't complicated. You just had to be sure it was large enough to be comfortable, and big enough for the contents of get a bit of exercise and move around. This cub wouldn't be out exploring with its mother for at least another four sevendays-plenty of time to build an even bigger pen. The weyrs in Dark Moon were spacious, and he wasn't worried about the cub not having room to move about. The doors closed, to boot, giving privacy to those inside. Once the cub was old enough that it was ready to use a form of box with sand in it, as all domestic felines did? He could place that box in his bathing room beside the privy, and allow the feline free run of his weyr. It wasn't as if the feline could get out unless he let it, and the weyr was more than adequate size for a feline-it was adequate for a man and his dragon, after all! He was planning ahead, however. Eventually? Someone would find out about it, and he'd have to defend it to the teeth, he was sure. Train it so well that no one would be able to question that it was tame and well behaved. So fortunate that he'd gotten it so young. He had time to mold it and time to train it before it got big enough that another would have to see it. Still, feeding it would be a pain. He knew the mixes used to feed kittens that were without a mother too young and it should work for this cub.
"Vyralth can go retrieve the axe, he knows where all my things are," he told his companion with a smile, and then, "you should grab some nails and the hammer too, Vyralth. They're all in that work pack-you know the one."
*I know the one. Shall you come with me, Priath? We will need to bespeak Rhia through Mneith,* he added, inclining his head back towards the direction of the Weyr.

"The only wood I worked with was the wood we needed to make instruments. I'm a quick study though. A good Harper has to be."
I will bespeak Mneith. Perhaps it is better to go *between* and arrive right in front of your weyr so that less people will see us. The Watch dragon will wonder why we are there without our riders.
"Perhaps its best if Priath does not go with you Vyralth. She's right about the watch dragon and two riderless dragons are more conspicuous than one."
Priath turned to the blue. My chosen is right. Hurry back. Mneith we are safe but my chosen and the bluerider took longer to find the cubs than we thought.
Do you need help?
We do not. We will be there as soon as we can.
Anassa waited until the blue got back with the materials and then watched K'tan as he began building the pen until she knew what to do then she pitched in so that they could finish the pen quickly.

With Anassa's help, they managed to finish the pen in a relatively short time. It was sturdy and quite big, and K'tan was satisfied that the cub would be happy with it. It was actually quite large-easily larger than the interior of the cave where he would have lived for another eight sevendays or so was. That was usually when the mother would have taken him out to see the outside world. K'tan had two months to worry about that, and by then he hoped to have it trained to simply be using a scat box in his Weyr. He would teach it to walk on a lead like a canine and see if it couldn't be taught some basic commands...he'd seen felines learn them, and he knew that these particular larger ones were supposed to be smarter than that. Well, it couldn't hurt to try, anyways.
He finished cleaning up the rest of the supplies so no one would know someone had been doing something here, and then turned to Anassa with a grateful smile. "You were right-you are a quick study!" He agreed, and then, "and I appreciated your help, thank you." Vyralth rumbled, pleased as well, and inclined his head to the greenrider before bespeaking Priath. *We are done here, I think, and should get back before Rhia or others wonder what takes us. I will sun tomorrow by the lake,* he informed the green. It was an open ended offer, of a dragon sort, anyhow, and then, *perhaps I will be fortunate enough to see you there.*
K'tan glanced over at the dark blue dragon, and shrugged, stretching and yawning as he untied the cub, who'd fallen asleep on his removed jacket. "See you tomorrow, maybe?" This, of course, to Anassa.

"We did well if I do say so myself. Now we just need to get this to your weyr and get back to report to Rhia. Or will you report to Rhia and then come back for the pen and the cub?"
I may. The green dragon was purposefully vague and flirtatious. Anassa bit back a grin.
"I might. Right now though I just need to get Priath cleaned. I don't want her in our weyr with blood all over her. That will start to stink quickly and she's a fussy dragon."
