C'adyn snickered at L'von's playfulness. Yep, Zalith was already have a good affect on her rider. In response to his teasing, C'adyn told L'von, "I might be a less pesky friend if I just stayed away but that wouldn't be nearly so entertaining for both of us." He was smiling broadly again and watching the greenrider to see his reaction.
Just as C'adyn was pleased with the already seemingly more open L'von, Hith was quite pleased with how honest and friendly young Zalith was. Yes Zalith, my rider is the one who hugged yours. Hith said by way of answering her question. Then he added, Even though we know they are fond of each other it would probably be better if they came to it on their own don't you think?
*****
To answer V'koran's question, Jessa shook her head once and frowned slightly. "No Val, I wouldn't want anything to change, never would I want that. If neither of us had Impressed nothing would have changed so why should we let something so wonderful change what's between us?" She really hoped that he felt the same way, but she just couldn't quite read the look on his face.
Aylith was getting quite cozy and quite sleepy but she heard what Verith said and answered him contently, They are happy and that is good. Then she asked, And since they are happy, and I am full and sleepy, can we go to sleep now Verith? Again she nuzzled her clutch brother and then she rested her dainty delicate head gently on the brown's shoulders and closed her eyes.

Yes, I suppose, Zalith answered reluctantly. But if he doesn't say anything... She let that threat hang. She curled up at L'von's feet and slowly dozed off to sleep.
L'von didn't know quite what to say to that, so he gave the bluerider a cryptic look and pretended to check his nails for dirt. If he didn't know any better, he might think that C'adyn was flirting with him. He did ride a blue, after all, and from his scant knowledge of dragons, he deduced that it was possible. Not daring to look up at C'adyn for fear that he would blush, he studied his sleeping dragon's features.
----
Of course we can, Verith replied, feeling drowsy himself. He rested his own head on the floor, between his front legs, and curled his tail around his clutch-sister. It didn't take long before he dropped off to sleep.
V'koran smiled. "I don't know why you're asking me these questions, silly. I didn't want anything to change before the Hatching, so why would I all of a sudden want them to now? And," he added in a conspiratorial tone and leaning in a bit, "love doesn't just change its mind, either." He squeezed Jessa's hand reassuringly. "Sure, we have to wait. But we're lucky. We didn't complicate things-- well, as much-- before this, so it should be... easier."

Jakel watched as yet another egg hatched. A dark blue dragonet spilled unto the sands, revealing Jade swirls all over his hide. Then the stolen egg also hatched, revealing a yellow hatchling, even smaller than that tiny green. He was glad that this egg hatched but he was more interested in seeing if he would impress. He noticed that one egg still hadn't hatched. It had started hatching quite a while ago, he wondered if the hatchling was okay.
The blue didn't seemed deterred by the lack of candidates. He walked pass the females quickly, barely even stopping to consider them. He then stopped in front of the very few boys left. Suddenly he heard a voice in his head. J'kel, your Jorath has arrived. I wish to be fed if you please. The male voice said. J'kel knew what this meant and his eyes grew wide and his smile grew to the point it couldn't get larger. He wanted to jump in the air and pick the hatchling up, but he knew better, and knew that he wouldn't be able to lift the large creature.
"I can't believe it. Of course I will feed you Jorath. I am so glad you chose me. Let's go." J'kel had not yet grasped the whole talking in your mind thing yet. He then heard something and looked up. Hasima was clapping happily and had shouted his name. J'kel rubbed the back of his head sheepishly and looked at her to show her that he heard. He then looked in the stands, searching for Akki, but he was so excited that he could not find her. He turned back to the female candidate and noticed that Wolf was almost crying. This greatly confused him, but he didn't have much time to dwell on it because Jorath head-butted his leg.
He led the hatchling over to get fed, trying not to run all the way there. "His name is Jorath, and now I am J'kel" He said to Rhia excitedly. He sat down and began to feed the hatchling. Jorath ate quickly and it took J'kel a moment to realize what he had to do. "Ah, wait. Slow down or you will choke." J'kel blurted out. J'kel could have sworn that he heard a laugh in his head. Jorath began to eat slower, but every now and then he would eat quickly and J'kel had to tell him to slow. His head turned back to the sands. He clapped excitedly as Hasima impressed. He was so glad she was able to impress, he had worried a bit that she wouldn't because she was so timid. Jakel's face fell as the only hatchling left seemed to not be interested in Wolf, the only candidate left. Since he had finished feeding Jorath he stood on his feet and looked worriedly at her. He heard a voice and turned to one of the newly impressed candidates. It took him a moment but it clicked, that was Roxis. That was the brother that Wolf had been looking for. His face lifted momentarily, but he was still upset that his friend wouldn't impress. Jakel noticed the queen egg and his jaw literally dropped. He couldn't move as Wolf impressed. He couldn't move as she came over to feed her queen, nor when her brother hugged her. He snapped out of it as Akki talked to him. He rubbed his head sheepishly. "His name is Jorath." He smiled. "One moment Akki." He grabbed her hand and dragged her over to Wolf with Jorath at his side. "Wolf! You impressed! You are a queen-rider! And you found your brother!" He said He also grabbed Hasima. He pumped his fist in the air. "Now all four of us are riders!"
********************************** Hali clapped as the stolen egg hatched and impressed. She watched the green walk into the stands. Worry was shown on her face. Do not worry, mine. She knows what she is doing. Orylith explained. Hali was relieved to see a man walk to the green and hug her. That was good. Yet, as the nightsky-like hatchling walked from the two remaining candidates, she hoped that it wouldn't go between. Hali noticed the queen egg and his jaw literally dropped.
*************************************
Miya stared sternly as the void egg hatched. It had been taken back and hatched safely, but who stole it. That was what she really wanted to know. We will find out in due time. Reinath assured her. She saw Christae's face fall as the moonstreak approached Sorcha. Why was she in the Sr. Queen's spot anyways. It then clicked. Sorcha had stolen the egg. Her face grew angry. She knew that girl was a no good, filthy wherry-head. Ever since she saw the girl's shadowed figure in Tonu's images, she knew that Sorcha was no good. Now she was right. Calm down mine. Now is not the time. Reinath said sternly. Miya mumbled under her breath, but knew that her bonded was right.
Miya noticed the queen egg and his jaw literally dropped. She crossed her arms and leaned back in her chair. Oh goodie, another queen, so quickly too. Miya muttered. Do not worry mine. She is younger and smaller. Also, you will be the Junior Weyrwoman, she will simply be a queen-rider.
********************************
Nira clapped happily as the stolen egg hatched and impressed. She watched as the large green hatched. She may grow to be as big as you. Nira pointed out to her bonded. Not quite. She will still be a bit smaller than me, mine. I will still be that largest green in the Weyr. Siarath boasted. Nira laughed because this was one of the very few things Siarath had ever said that promoted herself. Nira noticed the queen egg and his jaw literally dropped.
((I think that Wolf told Jakel about her brother. If not, let me know and I will fix it. Also, I know that I did the same sentence for the queen egg in each point of view. And, I noticed that all of Jakel's good friends are girls. Lol.))

((Rofl J'kel is a little player ooooo Miya doesn't like competition...and just think Sorcha and her moonstreak will be in the Queen's wing *grings mischieviously*))
Rhia urged Wolf to feed the gold and turned to watch the egg theif with her dragonet. She would have to accept the moonstreak or the little creature would suicide. Rhia sighed. There were others who deserved to Impress but she figured that there was no harm done because Wolf had impressed the new Queen.
She raised her voice to be heard over the noise of proud families and friends leaving the bowl. They would be at the Hatching feast. Christae had personally invited them all. There were several Weyrleaders and their Weyrwomen in the bunch as well. Only a few had been unable to come. This would show them that the stolen egg had hatched safely. They would want to meet the riders of the mutants and take a look at the spectacular dragonets.
Rhia knew she had her work cut out for her this night making sure that the dragonets did not get fed treats that the humans liked. So they won't have bubblies? There will be bubblies but the hatchlings cannot have them. They will get sick poor dears. Oh, well you will do fine. You are a good leader. That is why Christae gave you this post. I know. Mneith, I love you. I love you as well my little one. Dragon and rider savored the moment, basking in the joy of a successful hatching, reaffirming the bond that had formed when a little brown hatchling had come tumbling out of his shell and gazed into the eyes of a nervous young Runnerhealer.
"Congratulations to you all!" She cried loud enough to be heard. "Now, I have a few things to say to you so you might want to gather around and listen closely my dears."

Akki's eyes went wide as J'kel grabbed her and dragged them over to Wolf, Hasima and R'xis. "Shards J'kel, you're going to rip my arm off." She said, shaking his grip off of her as she stuck her tongue out at him. She knelt down on to the ground, looked over Jorath and grinned, saying to the blue, "It's very nice to meet you Jorath, my own blue, Ebbeth, sends his greetings also.". She stood back up, brushing off all the dirt on her and said, "J'kel, calm down. My word, you're going knock something over. And it'll probably be Hasima that'll get knocked over. R'xis, that was some pretty good timing for telling her if you ask me and congratulations Wolf. You deserved it the most out of anyone. Now then, do I have to wait around to find out your dragons names, or will you guys tell me so I don't have to guess?".
Hasima squeaked slightly as J'kel grabbed her but recovered from the surprise of that. R'xis and Wolf were brother and sisters? Since when? Hasima cocked her head and looked at the two, there was similarities in their features that was true. She looked down at Rimith, who crooned sweet nothings to her in return. It was weird to have a dragon, it changed your future completely. She still couldn't picture herself as a rider, but there was no need too, because she knew she was one now. Who's that who grabbed you? Rimith asked curiously, staring up at the boy before trotting over to Jorath to inspect him as she sent a Hello his way. Hasima turned to face Rhia, curious to what she had to say, she was close enough to the brown rider that she didn't have to move to hear her clearly.

"Akki, can you blame me? I am so sharding excited. I mean, seriously, we are riders now. Can you truthfully tell me that you weren't?" He jabbed his finger at her chest. "Right, well, this is Jorath and I am J'kel." He said proudly, supplying his own name for the dragons. "Haha, I am no longer Jakel." He seemed oddly excited about this.
Jorath looked to his smaller, yellow, sister. Hello clutch-sister. He replied happily. Jakel turned to the Weyrlingmaster and she called for their attention.
*************************
Come on Orylith. Hali called as Rhia called them all over. I am on your heels, mine. Orylith pointed out.

"No doubt your dragons are getting sleepy now that they are fed. You have about two candlemarks before your presence is required at the Hatching Feast. I expect you to wear your best Gather clothes. If you don't have good Gather clothes, come to me and I will find you some in our stores."
"Your dragons will want to sleep but after that meal their hides will stretch and start to crack. Before they can go to sleep, they must be oiled. Also, it will help their hides shine for the Feast and we all want to show them off. So, I will lead you all in a group to the Weyrling Barracks. The drudges have already moved your belongings into them. The bigger dragons will be to the front and the smaller ones to the back. Once again, the same rules apply for girls and boys. Girls on one side, boys on the other. There is a large common room big enough for young dragons and riders so you won't have to be in each others sides."
"I will go with you and help you oil your dragons. I shouldn't have to tell you that you must be on your best behavior for the feast. There are several Weyrleaders from various Weyrs that will be monitering your behavior. Hasima, your dragon hatched out of the stolen egg. They will probably make a beeline for you when you enter. If you need me, signal and I will come to help you manage them. Remember, dragonriders are the diplomats of Pern. There are a lot of people there and the focus will be on you. You are the future."
"Once your dragons are oiled, they can nap. Always tend to your dragon FIRST. You own needs always come second to your bondmates. I will inspect each dragonet to make sure you have oiled them properly. You will get ready while your dragons are napping. I expect you all to be assembled before me when two candlemarks have passed. I expect you to be dressed and ready. We will go to the feast together."
She smiled. "Does anyone have any questions?"

Hasima squeaked slightly, she didn't want people to make a straight bee line to her, the thought scared her. Rimith looked up as Hasima, her eyes whirling with curiousity as she let out a soft croon to comfort and reassure the girl. Hasima looked dow nat the tiny yellow, and knelt to scratch the eye ridges. The smallest dragon would be at the back of the line with their rider, surely Rimith was the smallest so Hasima would be at the back.
"Don't worry Hasima. If any of them come to close, yell my name and I'll be there in a wink and get Ebbeth to chew some of them up." The blue rider said with a grin and a wink to her friend. She was proud of Hasima, she knew the people at Southern Boll thought she would never Impress that she would come back home as worthless as she left. She proved them wrong, did she ever. She also told Hasima that if she needed help oiling Rimith get the small yellow to tell Ebbeth who would tell her, and she would come to help her. She looked at J'kel and warned, "Poke me one more time J'kel and it's on. Just because you have a dragon too doesn't mean I still can't get Ebbeth snap you up, and chew on you for a bit.".

"J'kel, if that wasn't a special moment. No, wait, if Rhia wasn't here, I'd be shoving your face into dirt right now." She said, lifting a finger as she waggled it in front of her friends nose. "Soon as you leave your barracks, Ebbeth is going to be there and he'll be hungry." She said, poking the new rider back. "Now, I'm making a bad impression on lovely Jorath here probably.".
Hasima bit her lip, but had no questions to ask Rhia. She was nervous now, she didn't want people she didn't know around here right away and asking questions. Do not worry Hasima. I'll be there and I'll make sure nothing happens The yellow said, resting slightly against the girls legs and she comforted Hasima. And it worked, just the presence of Rimith being there comforted her.

Jakel just smiled. "Then I am lucky. Besides, Jorath will protect me." He smiled widely. Who is Ebbeth? Jorath asked curiously. "Akki's dragon." Jakel said, still not able to speak telepathically. I just hatched. I don't wanna fight a full grown dragon know. Jorath yawned. I am sleepy. He added tiredly. "Don't worry, we will be heading to our barracks soon." Jakel said, not realizing how odd it would seem since he was having a one sided conversation.

Akki watched as Jakel talked to out loud to his dragon, making him look insane. She giggled and said, "Jakel, you need to learn to talk in you head to Jorath. It makes you seem insane when you don't.". "Akki's dragon who's very disloyal to her and is a lazy piece of hide." Akki said, pointing out those facts with a grin and a wink.
I tire too, I want to sleep. Hasima, when do we line up to go? Rimith said, looking up at her before flopping down on the ground with a small yawn. The yellow looked around, seeing if the other dragons were as tired as she was.

Orylith walked up to the little yellow. Truth be told, she had ditched her mine to talk to the only one who was her size or smaller, and she was only a little bit smaller. Hello, clutch-sister. The little green dragon said with a smile. Hali walked over to catch up with her bonded. Orylith, please don't just leave like that. She asked as she caught up. She looked at the other and smiled. She knew the candidates, but not the rider. "Hello, my name is K'lor, and this is Orylith." She introduced herself and her dragon to Akki in a deep voice. She stuck her hand out to shake.
******************
Jakel looked to Akki. "But I don't know how." He fake-whined, which was ruined by the broad smile on his face. He turned to K'lor and her dragon as they came up. He chuckled, noticing that it was the green's idea to come.

Rimith lifted her head and looked at Orylith and picked herself off of the ground and looked at the green, who was just slightly bigger than herself. Hello, I'm Rimith and that over there is Hasima the yellow crooned, signalling towards the girl who was looking at the lovely green. Rimith crooned to Hasima, telling her to introduce herself to Orlyith and her rider.
Akki looked at K'lor for a second before taking his hand and shaking it. "Nice to meet you. I'm Akki, rider of the blue Ebbeth.". She brushed some hair behind her ears and looked at the small green and said with a smile, "Orylith is very pretty K'lor.". "Tch, you better learn fast J'kel." She said with a snort of amusement.
Hasima shuffled over to K'lor and Orlyth, as instructed by Rimith who was trying to make the girl more social. "Hello K'lor, congratulations on Impressing." She said quietly to K'lor with a small smile.

Hali's eyes twitched slightly. Her dragon was pretty. She had impressed a green. Now she must really seem gay. ((Am I allowed to say that?)) "Uhh, thanks." She said remembering to keep her voice deep. She then turned to Hasima. "Thankyou. Congratulations to. She is a one of kind, and very p...nice." She changed from pretty. A guy probably wouldn't say pretty. Hello, Rimith. I am Orylith and my mine is the one who followed me here. His name is... She paused, trying to remember what Hali told her to call her by. ..K'lor. She smiled, obviously proud that she got that right.

Uncertainly, with his hand on Mekinoth's head, T'vril guided the bronze towards the growing cluster of Weyrlings around the Weyrling Master. Listening to what she had to say, he glanced towards his feet, and wished reluctantly that he had Khaliall around to organize him. His younger sister was better at keeping track of time than he, and he doubted that Mekonith knew... He was starting to feel rather forlorn without her to prod him on. But how could he be unhappy when he had the astounding creature who had entered his life so recently? Smiling hesitantly at the bronze, he watched the other new Weyrlings warily, and wondered if he was going to make himself seem like an idiot anytime soon. The new Weyrling rather hoped not. They would have to oil their dragonets before they could sleep, but it looked as though Mekonith was falling asleep on his feet. Am not he retorted defensively, and a smile tugged up the corners of T'vril's lips. "If you say so," he murmured.

Akki snorted with amusement as she watched K'lor twitch her eye. "That's a good thing, Orylith is female so it's a good thing she's pretty. Don't worry, I wouldn't say anything that would insult you or your dragon." She said, trying to say that she didn't mean that in an offensive way or anything.
Hasima grinned, she was quite proud of Rimith. The little dragonet had went through alot to get to the girl, she was stolen away and hidden. "Thank you." She said with a faint blush before saying "Orylith seems very nice too.". Rimith tilted her head and said, with all innocence What was the pause? Do you not know your chosens name? That's okay actually, you have to learn quite a few names because you meet many people.
Akki looked at T'vril, and not really knowing who he was she walked over to him and said, "Congratulations on Impressing. I'm Akki of blue Ebbeth.". She knelt down to look at the bronze and asked, "And who's this lovely bronze?".

/Help me please, Rifenjesk, your Sulith is stuck! I am so hungry. Won't you please help me out? /
Rifenjesk /felt/ the words than ran through her head, alarm flashed through here and she felt urgency well within her stomach. Then she spotted the flailing green dragon with purple. Worried, she stepped forward to its aid and pulled the dragonette from its shelled-prison. The poor dragon was exhausted, so she reminded her bonded presently of it, and her hunger. Rifenjesk gave a nod and stroked the head of the green, and then the eyeridges, and recieved a croon from Sulith. "Come," the girl stated, "lets get you some food." And with that they went to the tables.

Surprised at hearing a voice, and having been rather absorbed in watching Mekonith for the moment, T'vril glanced up gravely, and blinked at the woman standing before him. "Umm...thank you," he told her uncertainly, tilting his head slightly. After a moment, recalling his manners, he bowed slightly, and then glanced at his bronze, who was looking amused. Why did you stoop funny? he inquired mildly. The Weyrling frowned slightly. Polite. I think... he told him after a moment. "Uh, it's my pleasure to meet you. I'm T'vril...This is Mekonith." The little bronze preened proudly, pleased by the attention.
