"I traveled to different holds with my Master before I got my knots and came to the Weyr. Whiterider Nike Searched me from the hold that my Master and I were staying at for a few sevendays. It is interesting to travel and see all of Pern isn't it?"

"It's okay. I mean you meet a lot of different people," that part she didn't know. Her father never let her meet anyone. She was always supposed to be quiet and not do anything without being told to. "Most of the places look the same though. I mean, we travel around in the Southern continent, and it is all pretty much the same, warm and sandy." Hali shrugged.

"For the most part I traveled in the Northern Continent. The plains of Keroon are vastly different from the fields of Ruatha and the Igen caverns are gorgeous if you get the time to see them. Bitra isn't really the best place to visit but Fort is okay."

Nike finished up putting the sheets on the beds. The Healer then kneeled down on the ground to fold the dirty sheets. A smile formed on her lips when she saw a blue tail sticking out. "Crystal," She said shaking her head. Nike reached in, and pulled the blue firelizard out. "I know that you were hiding, but I need to wash these sheets," She said, kissing the blue's head, then finished folding the sheets.

"About me? I am G'han, formely Gyhan. I came from a small hold in the woods. I had a father, mother, and little brother. I loved them all dearly, especially my father. He was the greatest mentor I had and taught me everything I know in hand to hand combat. He was a true master of it and always said I would surpass him. He always knew I could be better than him and even though I know I never will be I try anyway because that's what he always wanted", he said to her, not telling her anything after that. A still quietness lay around him after he was done speaking.

"So have you ever gone back to your father? To see how good you stand against him? You will never know how close you are to surpassing him if you don't fight him." Hali only asked this because she was unnerved by the uneasy silence. She hated when that happened.
Hali cleared her throat again. She didn't know how much longer she could talk like this. "Nike, if you are a dragonrider, why are you cleaning the sheets of the bed?" For someone who would share little information about herself, she sure had a lot of questions.

Nike smiled. "All dragonriders have to do chores since Dark Moon is so small. I am off duty, and once Ruanth's needs are settled, most of my freetime is doing the chores that I have to make up," The Healer said as she lifted the pile of sheets into her arms. "You will have to do them."

"If I so much as knew if he or my whole family for that matter were alive I would probably", he said to her. "So I guess I might not ever know. But no man can lay to rest his father's wish for his son", he said to her as he stared to the wall infront of him.

Nike hobbled over to G'han. "Oh don't worry! I'm sure that they are alive. And if you really want, I could come help you look for them!" She said with a little smile. "Now, if anyone would like to help me wash these things.…" The Healer grinned from behind the sheets. Crystal curled up on the top while Zim still perched on her shoulder.

"What happened!" Hali was so shocked that she hadn't paid any attention to what Nike said.

G'han smiled at Nike then said, "Thank you for the offer....but if I do ever decide to go....I feel its something I have to do on my own. If that makes any sense". To be honest it didn't make much sense to him either but finding his family was something he had to do on his own, something inside of him told him that.

He turned to the candidate and said, "The details on that are sketchy but our hold always had trouble with renegades and seeing as how when my father and I were out training and we saw smoke coming from the hold I am guessing it was them. When I finally went after him everything was dust and ashes and no one but a couple of my fathers men were left. They had no clue as to what happened either as they were out as well. But renegades are my first and only bet". G'han pounded the wall with his fist when he said renegades for the last time. He crossed his arms again, his fist had no blood, barely even red from the impact. G'han wasn't even phased by how hard he hit the wall. He stood still and quiet again against the wall.

Nike nodded. "G'han's past is dark, and hard. Like many others. Some are worst, and some are better in different places," She said with a sigh. Yes, G'han lost his family, not even knowing that they are alive. And hse herself lost her mother, father, and Tirith. The Healer shook these thoughts from her head, not knowing that she did it physicaly, and mentally.

Hali started coughing. She couldn't believe that. She remembered one day her father went out with the group. She wasn't allowed to go, which meant it was really dangerous. It didn't bother her, she was used to it. She remembered seeing the smoke. "Um...how long ago was that?" She asked worriedly.

(ya that would be about right. He was 16 when it happened, close to 17. he was 17 when he impressed and he is going on 20 now)
"Oh somewhere along the line of 3-4 turns ago", he said to her as if suddenly snapped from his train of thought. He remembered the image vividly in his mind. No one was there but him and his burnt hold. He could still see flames here and there but by the time he arrived it had burned down for the most part and if it were renegades like he was sure it was then they were long gone and who knew what happened to his family. Some of them could possibly be alive. He could only hope, but hope was something that started to fade with him.

Hali started coughing again. "Uh..." Shards, that is probably the worst thing that could happen to her. She has been talking to one of the victems of her father and her father's friend's actions. She just never thought she would ever meet someone like that. "If you will excuse me." Her voice was her normal voice, not deepend like she had been practicing. Hali stood up and made her way out of the room. She walked across the Weyrling bowl. Her eyes looked up in the sky. "What am I supposed to do father?" She whispered. He always told her what to do, always protected her, always made decisions for her, now she was on her own. She just didn't like it.

G'han raised an eyebrow to the voice change. When she left he turned to Nike, "Nike is it me or did that voice sound......feminine?". He had suspected something was up with this candidate and that voice only roused his suspicion more.

Nike nodded. "Yes it was. And he looks like a girl too. You don't think… Admin's Note:[/hr]" She asked, trying to look at G'han from behind the pile of sheets. The Candidate did seem to look like a girl, and the way he acted.

"Who knows? We can't very well have a girl in the boys candidate barracks but can we be so impersonal as to poke our noses where they don't really belong?", he asked her. He gave a shrug and walked out.
