Valkoran nodded and hurried off to gather the few things he had: three more fitted tunics, a spare pair of breeches, his personal scrolls and hides, some personal care items, and a few marks.
The searchrider seemed distracted; she hadn't even noticed his question about Dark Moon. He was a little disappointed, but she was very busy and he was probably taking too long already. As he began the walk back to the dragons, he remembered that his conversation topics often had that effect on a lot of people, adults or no; they either ignored the question or regarded him with a new, unfriendly curiosity. He sighed and made sure Shif was stabled, told his father which two runners he wanted, and went back to the greenrider and her companion, a brownrider. "I'm ready."

When the boy left, Nira turned to R'dal. "So, how are you doing?" She asked, after most of the audiance had left to finish up their jobs. She gave him a peck on the cheek, since she wasn't sure who was watching. She didn't want to give dragonriders a bad name.
Nira smiled when the candidate came back. She turned to face him. She had forgotten about his question. "Sorry, I was...distracted. Darkmoon Weyr is the smallest Weyr, but I am not sure if it has the most female greenriders. One thing we do have, that I don't think most other Weyrs have, are a female blue and brown rider." She smiled. "Would you prefer to go between or rider straight? Normally, you don't get a choice, but I have been showing R'dal here around. Would you like to fly straight?" She asked.

He gave a smile and responded to her, "I am doing fine and might I add so are you. This seems to be very routine for you and you do it well. You do it with kindness to always trying to let them down easy. It's one of the many things I have come to love about you". He returned her peck on the cheek and then looked as the boy returned.

"Ah," Valkoran began, presented with a choice he didn't really feel he had the right to make, "well, it doesn't matter to me, I mean, I'll be on a dragon either way, right? I guess I'm not really in a hurry, so of course you can take your time... but if you want to go home, that's alright, too." In his babbling he'd forgotten about the brownrider. "And good day to you, brownrider R'dal."
