Malenie gave a confussed look at the male, and then took a seat on her cot. "So tired," She said, then turend back to the other Candidate. "Who are you?" Malenie asked, her chin propped up by her hands. She layed on her stomach, and looked at the Candidate with a raised eyebrow. He was different. And she liked that.

"Name's Sauke. And who might you be?"
He shifted his position slightly, now able to keep an eye on both females in the room as he leaned against the door frame. He was quite comfortable there too. For a moment he glanced outside, spotting his younger sister off somewhere reading, for the sketchpad was in the ground besides her. He'd ask her later from where did she got the book, but for now he was more interested about socializing with the two candidates present there with him.

Malenie smiled. "My name is Malenie, and this little thing is Nakum," She said, and nodded to the brown. Nakum was perched on the little headboard of the cot. He looked at Sauke closely. "Nakum, leave him alone, I don't think he wants you staring at him," She said, and poked the brown firelizard. "Sorry, Sauke," The Candidate said.

"Pleasure to met you Malenie... Nakum."
His gaze traveled away from the candidate and to the fire lizard that watched him so closely. Really, why did they all stared at him like that, it wasn't as if he was a piece of meat roll or something. Such odd creatures they were... Compared to Dragons they were nothing but little house pets... Annoying little house pets. He remembered the hatching of three close to his house, how his sister had dragged him there just to see them hach and impress. Lucky for him he didn't impress any, though a blue had been far too close to doing this for his liking. Luckily another kid threw a piece of meat close to it and the little beast impressed that boy. His sister, on the other side, had seemed dissaponted about it all but he had shrugged it off. As the brown was scolded by His he shrugged slightly. "It's alright, I'm used to it."

Malenie looked up at the other Candidate. "You sure? I don't want you to be uncomftorable because of my firelizard," She said, and stroked Nakum's head. The brown crooned. A soft expression came apon Malenie's features. To here that croon, but only as a dragon. To Impress a dragon. That would be so nice. Malenie was here not even a month or two after Nike had Impressed Ruanth. She had been here for awhile, and had waited so long for this. She wanted to Impress so badly. And now, her chance was going to come true.

“Positive, he isn't the first fire lizard that stares at me nor will he be the last one-”
The crooning of the creature caught his attention, reminded of the dragons that visited his small, almost unknown, hold as a smirk lightened his features slightly. Yes, that's why he was here. He was here to impress a Dragon, to become a Rider. He'd swore it on his father's grave that he wouldn't fail, he would impress. But he was slowly coming too old to stand, and this could probably one of his last chances, if not the final one.

Malenie smiled. "Where do you come from?" She asked, her eyes never leaving the tiny brown in her hands. When she was at the firelizard hatching where she Impressed Nakum, she was jealous of her foster-sister, Nike, Impressing Zim. But, now, she wasn't Malenie knew that she should be happy with what she has. And if she really didn't like it, she could change it. It would be hard. But yes, she could change it.

“Lived on Lemas Hold most of my life. Got searched once for a Benden Hatching and now for the Hatching here. What about you, where do you come from?”
His eyes remained on the brown fire lizard for a moment, continuing to study the creature, before they shifted over to look at Malenie once more awaiting a reply from the female. Again he shifted slightly, his gaze turning back momentarily at Anassa, just to make sure she knew he had not forgotten of her presence there, before switching back to look at Malenie, cracking his knuckles with his hands for the fun of it.

Malenie nodded. "I live my whole life in Southern Boll. Only child, but was raised by a foster mother. A lot of foster siblings. One of them, Master Healer Nike, I mean Nevvanikea is here," She said, and stroked Nakum. The brown gave another croon, and then a smug look to the male candidate. Like, 'I am treated better than you are.'

An eyebrow was arched at the look he received by the fire lizard, a 'wtf?' look on his own features for a second or two as he watched the smug look in the fire lizard's face. Dang... If he didn't knew better he'd think the little beast was trying to make him jealous or something. They were really annoying pets. Still, he wouldn't let the fire lizard get his way and bother him so he merely shrugged it off, his attention returning to Malenie.
“So your foster sibling is here? Guess that must be good for you, familiar faces are nice to have. My own sister is a candidate here, she's off sketching somewhere. We both got Searched this time by the same Blue dragon and brought here.”

Malenie nodded. "That's good that you have a sister here. Nike Impressed before I got here, so she'll be a full rider when we will all be Weyrlings. I just can't wait," She said, and then looked up at him. "What color do you want to Impress?" She asked, a smile forming on her lips. A bronze, probally. Just by looking at him, she had the feeling that he wanted a bronze.

He nodded to her, smirking slightly before listening to her next question. He didn't took long to answer it, already used to doing it when his sister and mother always asked him when the first chance of impression came. Though he failed that one he still had his hopes high and his eyes settled on the same goal.
“Though Bronze would be nice I think I lean more into the Brown. They're faster than Bronzes and have more stamina than Blues. Plus a Brown can grow to be as big as a Bronze, just with a different hide color. And they can still fly Queens if they feel like doing so. Yeah, I'd say Brown is what I'm hoping for the most... Then again I wouldn't mind if it were a Blue either. A family friend impressed one, Blue Zoeth. D'cas says he's quite the interesting dragon. What about you? What do you want?”

Malenie smiled. "Ah, browns really don't catch queens. I don't think the queen would allow it. A bronze would be nice. I guess if you were a male. But I would really like a green. A gold would be wonderful, but greens are harder to handle. According to almost all of the green rider here. And I want a challenge," She said with a grin. "I want my green to be big. Brig strong and fast. I also want her to have a color all to her own. A bright, beautiful forest green. The same color of the trees in Southern Boll," She said, eyes twinkling.

He chuckled slightly, nodding to her. “Well then, if I ever impress a Brown I'll have to put that myth of Golds never being caught by them to the test, won't I? It would be quite the challenge.” As she spoke about which dragon she wished he was surprise. He would have thought of her to be aiming for a Gold, not for a green. Guess appearances can be deceiving. “Hmm... You seem to already have the perfect dragon image you want for your LifeMate. Best of lucks in the Hatching then. I hope you do get a Green like that, it would be quite the jade jewel around here compared to the other more normal green tones here.”

Malenie laughed. "Of course you will. But I don't think Kaith will let any other dragon other than Myranenth catch her. And Miya would never let a brown catch her queen," She said with a grin. "Yes, I know. I would love a beautiful green. And you too. I hope you Impress your brown," The Canddiate said, and kissed Nakum's head when the brown cherp. "Yes, a brown. Like you," She said with a little laugh.

He chuckled, shrugging to himself before the grin remained on his face. “I wouldn't even dare try and catch Kaith, she belongs to Myranenth. As for Miya's Gold... Not sure. Haven't had the chance to know her enough to decided if I would even ever consider letting a Dragon of mine fly for her Queen. And, even if there aren't any other Queens around, the Greens also rise. I don't mind what me and my Dragon catch as long as I can get along with the person. Of course, for all of that to happen first I need to impress my Brown LifeMate, no?” He winked slightly before his gaze shifted to the fire lizard. A Brown like Nakum... However annoying the creature was he had to admit that a Brown like him would not be bad.

Malenie laughed. "Yes, you are right on that. I wouldn't understand why anyone owuld want to be the mate of Miya. And yes, a brown would be nice. My real mother always told me to have a mate who was a brown rider. They weren't as cocky as bronze, and they had more sense than blues. So, yes, I guess a brown would be nice. For any one," She said with a grin. Nakum cherped when he felt the boy's gave on him.

Nodding a grin crossed his lips as the fire lizard chirped slightly. Yes, the girl had another point. Unlike the cocky Bronzes and the sometimes over hyper Blues Browns were the calmest of the male colors that he knew. Indeed, a Brown would suit him well, they were clever after all. Perhaps a nice prank partner too, who knew. And now that he thought about it so could flitts. Small and quick they were quite the perfect messengers for pranks.
“Your mom was right I guess. We'll just have to wait and see what happens when the Hatching starts, won't we. For how long have you had Nakum?”
Perhaps... Perhaps he was wrong about his original thought about fire lizards. Perhaps the small and loud creatures weren't as useless as he thought...

Malenie nodded. "I've had Nakum for almost five Turns now. He may be annoying, but I love him to death. I don't know what I would do without him. Nike, she says that it's like a limited version of dragon love. And she knows dragon love," She said with a grin. It was a hard subject for Nike to talk about Tirith, but she knew what it wa slike to lean on your firelizards for support when you think that all is lost. "I think Nike's Zim is going to be flying soon. I could get an egg for you if you want," She said with a smile.

He pondered the offer for a moment before shaking his head slightly. As tempting as it may have sounded he knew one who'd want that egg more than himself. His sibling. “If you could get an egg, let me know. I know my sister would be trilled to have the chance of impressing a fire lizard. She loves the little critters to death.” Indeed, a fire lizard would be something rather... Interesting to have now to him, yet he knew the creature would get much more attention from his sister than himself. He just wasn't the pet type of person. And in any case... He could always try to persuade the fire lizard if it bonded to his sister to play a prank or two. It would take work... But it was possible. Of course, this was all thinking if his sister did impressed a little winged lizard. Trust Sauke to think ahead of time in almost everything, especially when he can plot pranks.
