Tanwen nodded at the question of if Vessayith liked the pup or not. She looked over to Bicran when he spoke up, shrugging when he apologized for the dog not being trained. "She went over to him first, anyway," she said. The pup certainly hadn't interrupted her; if anyone had, it was Vessayith's curiosity. But Tanwen wasn't exactly able to stay cross with her. And anyway, she'd expected upon impression that the dragonet would likely (inadvertently or not) force her into socialization.
"She's only a few months," Tanwen replied, looking over to the dragon and pup as they interacted. "She hatched from the donated clutch."
Vessayith watched with intent curiosity as the pup went this way and that, first trying to look into her eyes and coming back to sniff at her snout. Her eyes gave a quick whirl in their blue-green tones when the pup tried to perch himself up, and she lowered her head more to the ground to try and come eye-level with him. This one wiggles quite a lot! She said, still watching the pup. He doesn't talk though. Does the wiggling make it so he cant' talk, Mine? Or does he wiggle instead of talking? Vessayith rested her head on the ground. I don't understand the wiggle words.

Kegin watched how everyone interacted. he never understood how people could just get along so easily. In truth he never really cared. Kegin watched the dragon and pup and couldn't help but chuckled. "It seems she is rather curious." He looked at the others and then back at the girl.
The dragon kept his interest. He never seen one like this. Normally they would just look at something and lose interest qucikly. How long would the pup keep it he wondered. Kegin was rather enjoying himself.

Kalaht was a very timid creature. He was paranoid and jumped at everything. It was only because he had lived a -very- sheltered life at home. With parents who belittled him, who verbally abused him and the only one that protected him was his older brother, it wasn't a wonder why the boy was still alive. Now that he was gone, he was vulnerable for any attack. No one would guess that he had defense training. He did not walk with confidence. He walked slow, with his head down.
He looked to the left and to the right and behind him on occasion to make sure he wasn't followed. His head, hunched down as he walked. He looked up and saw two Candidates engaged in conversation with a girl with a dragon. Maybe a Dragonrider? He approached.
"Uh---h-hello?" he said, unsure of himself. "M-My n-na-name is Ka-Kalaht." He went on a limb to make friends. Despite his fear, he knew he had to make at least SOME friends. He looked at the young dragon. "G-Go-Good aft-afterno-noon, mi-miss. Your-Your drag-dragon is--is be-beau-beautiful." He stuttered a lot because his confidence level was way down. He hoped that no one would laugh at him or poke fun of the way he talked.

Blissy chuckled fondly at the spectacle the young dragon and pup made. Her eyes sparkling with amusement. The way the two played with each other showed a degree of innocence that Blissy saw often. After all, most young creatures tended to share that innocence.
She had to admit, she kind of missed the children of her hold. She wondered, faintly, how they were doing... and how badly they were running their mothers up the wall. After all, more than one of them had been quite the rambunctious rascal. Luckily, she just had a presence for children. Perhaps it was a 'brooks no nonsense' air... she didn't know. But for some reason, the children listened to her. She had had to discipline a few... but only a few.
Since she hadn't been address directly, she felt no reason to interject herself on the conversation, just smiled and gave a nod of greating to the green weyrling.

Grinning at Tanwen’s words he quickly added, “Am sure he would’ve been over t’meet yer fine young green too.” He smiled indicating the pup, Soot didn’t miss much when he was exploring. But luckily for Bicran, the pup didn’t get too far in a day. Be it the same with dragons… Admin's Note:[/hr][/I] He mused looking to the young canine and green. Nodding as Tanwen answered his question, “Are young dragons all this curious?” He asked slowly, his expression thoughtful before grinning. “What does Vessayith think o’ Soot? Please say if she‘s unhappy with him…”
.. Stretching forward the pup sniffed around, licking the dragons snout, before looking into creatures eyes. His own twitching to trying to follow the movement. With a confused whine he blinked and shook his head. He wanted to explore, he wanted a better look…with a excited pant he crouched back and then… Tensing at the clear growl behind him he glanced over his shoulder and retreated back onto his haunches. His mouth split into a apologetic yawn. After a little while he was back on his feet, sniffing around the green, stopping at the tail before circling back again. With a second yawn he suddenly lay down, his light form leaning against the green companionably. …
As a young boy approached them he eyed him slightly before nodding, he was a Candidate like Blissy, Kegin and himself. Short little’n he is… He pointed out, wondering how old the boy was. At his stammering Bicran’s expression softened, “No need t’act like a’hunted beast, we wont bite…as fer him,” He indicated the pup, “He may nibble…if’n he don’t sleep first…” The pale haired lad chuckled, scratching the stubble on his chin. “What…who d’yeh fear?”

Tanwen looked to her green beauty when the question came up if all dragons were as curious as her. She lifted an eyebrow as Vessayith closely watched the pup move around her, then shook her head slowly a few times. "If she were a feline, she'd probably be dead." The girl looked back to Bicran when he asked what the dragon thought of his pup. She just stopped herself short of sighing; after the snarky attitude she'd had for most her life, translating Vessayith's comments was often a bit embarrassing for her.
"She doesn't understand what he's saying," Tanwen offered. Vessayith's attention turned away from the pup when her own words seemed to enter the conversation; the green dragon lifted her head, and her eyes gave a whirl.
I said he wiggles a lot, and I do not understand his wiggle words.
Tanwen gave a mock glare to the dragon - the affection in her gaze, of course, making the 'mock' part of the glare obvious. "I'm sorry, she said: he wiggles a lot, and she doesn't understand his 'wiggle words.' " Tanwen watched as the pup came back around and settled into the sand to lay against the dragon. Vessayith curled her neck to look at him, resting her own head in the sand as well. She seemed, finally, content to lay still.
The small one is warm - particularly the fuzz along his hide. She sniffed at him once more.
"She also says he's warm," Tanwen supplied, looking over her shoulder as the stuttering candidate came into the conversation. She gave a half-smile and a nod when he complimented her dragon; Vessayith gave a soft croon in reply.

Kalaht lifted a shaking finger to Kegin.
"H-His ey--eyes..He sca-scares m-mme." Kalaht wasn't used to being around this many people before. He cowered down. Kalaht was a brave one but not as brave as one would think. He sighed as he looked at everyone.
He was observant. Kegin was plain....scary. The way his eyes looks. Full of hate and anger never seen before. His blood ran cold as he dared to look in Kegin's eyes once more. He tried to look away but he couldn't. As he looked into his eyes, he could see pain and suffering as well. He almost pitied him, even envied him. He looked like a strong lad, able to carry on the legacy of the dragonriders.

Kegin lifted a brow out of surprise. Nobody ever said he scared them. Well not true. But at the same time she thought he was a murderer too so she doesn't count. Kegin kept a firm hold of his words. He looked at Kalaht. "Now why would you say that? I did nothing for such words." He sighed and shook his head. Maybe he must get used to it. But he didn't need to like it.
Kegin looked at the other three to see if they might say something as well. Was he a scary person? He knew he was a broken person but scary? Kegin gave a weak smile trying to look more friendly. It would seem his brother had marked him with more then scars. He might never be able to keep friends like this.

Kalaht slowly but cautiously approached Kegin like prey who knew they were being stalked.
"B-beg P-ppar-pardon. Y-you lllook l-llike mmmy broth-brother. HHHi-his ey-eyes we-were th-the same ww-way. I-I did-didn't mmmea-mean to off-offend. I am ver-very sorry if I did. My broth-brother was ki-kill-killed by ban-bandits. I onl-only mmmeant that yo-you hha-had th-the same ey-eyes. Wha-What's your nna-name? I onl-only wa-want to be fri-friends. Not start any ffff-fi-fights." Kalaht was frustrated because he couldn't get the words out like he wanted. His stuttering start a week after his brother was killed.
Kalaht didn't blame his brother for anything. He loved him. He was the only one that would protect him. "He died wh-while pro-protect-protecting me." His eyes suddenly got sad and a tear emerged from his eye, which he wiped away. He sighed. "He was ggo-good t-to m-me..."

Kegin sighed. He guessed there wasn't much to do about it. "I know the feeling. You are lucky. My brother is currently trying to kill me. Got the marks to prove it. Wouldn't be surprised if he was the one that killed yours." Kegin shook his head. He never liked talking about him. he never liked even thinking about him. "No harm done. I guess things are ok." Kegin looked at Kalaht and held out his hand. "I am Kegin. Pleasure if not odd." Kegin chuckled a bit and tried to relax.
Kegin knew how hard it would be not having family close to him. the only difference was that he didn't want what was left close. He wanted his brother as far from him as possible. Kegin began to relax more and tried to be more friendly looking. He tried to relax his eyes. Maybe making them more Kind. Was it possible to change the way your eyes looked? No matter he would just have to work on being more friendly to others.

"Wh-who is th-this mmman th-that ha-haunts yo-you sso? " Kalaht asked his new friend. "I-II wwill t-take ccare o-of it for you. I am a go-good fight-fighter. Mmy bro-brother taught mme how to def-defend myself." He chuckled, mischievously.
Kalaht put his hand in his for a handshake. He sighed as he looked at Kegin's eyes again, he was his brother but he knew that his brother was dead. He vowed to get revenge as soon as he was able. He was growing. He was learning how to deal with the teasing alone. No....not alone. He had friends. Friends that would protect him.
Would the person who killed his brother come back for him? This was why he was afraid. This was why he wanted to avenge his brother's death and this is why he had to be brave. His brother meant the world to him and he was devastated when it happened. He couldn't see who it was that did the deed but he could recognize the voice. Maybe those bandits were hired thugs by Kegin's brother so that the dragonriders would go after the bandits instead of Him. He was a smart boy but he could pretend to be stupid.

Blissy had been watching the stuttering boy since he had come over. She really wanted to... well, hug and cuddle him. His stuttering giving him an innocence that was so cute she could hardly stand it.
She understood the fact that Kegin could be... imposing. He had a look about him that said he had been through some tough things. Some scary things. Things that had not left him unscathed. But he seemed like a good person underneath the harsh wrapping.
She smiled as the two shook hands. "Awww! Friendship is being forged!! This calls for a hug."
With a surprisingly strong tug, Blissy tried to pull them into a warm hug, one armed of course, because she was trying to hug both of them at once.

Kegin looked at Kalaht, "My brother is after me. He is a Renegade leader of a group called The Black Thorns. A number of them tend to try me out at times. Course I ain't and easy target." He chuckled a bit and looked at him. Then when Blissy spoke he turned a bit red. He never had a girl ever speak to him like that. She seemed amused by him and the boy. It was kind of nice compared to the screaming and running away.
Kegin looked at her surprised by the suggestion. Even more so when she pulled him to her. Course one arm went around her as well and his other still holding Kalaht's hand. He smiled and his face kept the red color. His arm around Blissy returning the hug. He kind of liked this. Of having friends. It was rather embarrassing but in a good way. He looked at Blissy with a slight smile, "Uh...thanks." he said a bit nervous.

Kalaht's eyes hardened when he heard Kegin's brother was a Renegade Leader. His lips pursed in angry look. His eyes narrowed and his fists clenched in fury. He tried to calm himself but it wasn't working. He had heard about this Renegade Leader. He had an experience with Him before, not directly he wasn't willing talk about right then.
It seemed that Renegades had attacked many of his friends just for trespassing one Turn ago. Only they didn't see it that way and said that the forest was free to walk through and that the forest was no one's home. All but one had escape the attack but was sent away. The friend was driven insane by the way they made him watch the other get tortured and killed.
"What does he look like?" only when he was angry or upset above something Kalaht didn't stutter. It was his release, as it were. Release to talking normal. "This is why I want to become a dragonrider, to protect the Innocent as the same thing does not happen to anyone else."
Little did Kalaht know, someone was watching and listening to every word that was being said. Talavi had heard about the Hatching Feast and wanted to go look and what the others were up against. She had changed since Kegin and her fought. She was more vicious and less visible. Being out of the forest had changed her. Changed her in a sense that she was more aware of things around her. She stood in silent and look just like everyone else. Her Renegade clothing under her clothes she wore as a cover. She stood and watched, gathering information and writing it down, whether she found useful or not....we wrote everything she heard and saw. Maybe SHE didn't find it useful but HE might. She wasn't there to attack, or cause trouble she was there to see what the others were up against. She saw Kegin and slinked off and disappeared in the shadows.
The sudden tug instantly jarred him out of the state to was in. He chuckled at the gesture. He had a hug in return. He never had I girl hug him before, not much less do anything with. He blushed.
"Th-thank yo-you." he smiled at her. He didn't think girls found him attractive. He was a handsome boy but in his mind he saw a freak.

Blissy smiled warmly as she gave both guys a good squeeze of friendliness. Nothing quite like hugging a guy. Especially guys like these, so cute to see their faces go red! She hugged them for a moment more before letting them go.
"Ah! Nothing quite like a good hug! If you ever feel down in the dumps, a good hug can make you feel right as rain. AND! A good hug is always a good and fun way to cement a new friendship. Or at least, I think so. You boys don't think I'm being too forward do you?" Sure, she was friendly, but sometimes she came across a little tooo friendly. If you caught her drift. She tried to keep that behavior on the down low.

Kegin was about to answer before the hug but forgot all about it as he felt Blissy's arms. He shook his head to her question. He was still red looked down as he said, "I kinda like it." he said. He waited for something bad to happen from him admitting that. He was ready for her to laugh at him or scream. but she didn't seem like that kind of girl. She was really nice to him.
Kegin looked at Kalaht. He sighed. "I would rather not talk about him if it is alright with you. I am sure Blissy doesn't care to hear about something like that. So we should changed the subject for a later time. I would rather enjoy the company of the few friends I just so happen to make. So the number is now 2. Maybe three. Or 5. but no higher then that so far."

Kalaht nodded. "Ri-right. Mmmm--me ei-eith-either." Kalaht got so frustrated at times because he couldn't get the words out that he wanted and the way he made them sound was stupid. At least they went laughing at him. He looked at Blissy and blushed, remembering how the hug felt. "Wow. fri-friends? Tha-that's a lot! IIII do-don't eeeeve-even hhhave that-that many! I ha-have yo-you, Bli-Blissy and th-this new rid-rider. May-maybe three for me. I wwwwish I-I cou-could sto-stop stu-stu-stu-stuttering!" He growled in frustration. He sighed and looked down.
Kalaht had low self-esteem, a low confidence level, and he thought he was worthless. It would take a major change in his life in order for him to not stutter anymore. All because of his parents talked down to him.

Kegin looked at Kalaht, "But didn't you stop a moment ago. I think you only stutter when you are nervous. When you got really angry you stopped." he said. kegin tried to be helpful. "It doesn't help that such a beautiful girl gave us both a hug." Kegin chuckled and looked at Blissy. "Now you should be careful when you use that weapon on us weak guys. You might over do it and kill us." Kegin chuckled and turned a bit red.
He looked at Kalaht and sighed. "I think it could be easily fixed with time and practice. As many things can be. Just believe that you can do it. I am sure your dragon, if you impress, would say the same thing. Would it not?" He tried to comfort the boy and ease his mind. But he didn't know how well it was working.

Kalaht was shocked at what Kegin had said. It would have been good good to relax finally and not feel all paranoid. What was he afraid of? It wasn't Kegin he was afraid of. It was his brother. Although he didn't know His name, he knew that He was a man of pure evil and must be vanquished along with other Renegades. He knew the bandits had to have someone they worked for. He knew that the bandits could not kill his brother like they did by themselves. He was very intelligent but he didn't recognize his potential. Kegin appeared that he had.
"I just need to re-relax bu-but I-I do-don't know how." he sighed. "Sh-she iiis ver-very beau-beaut-beautiful. Sh-she wo-won't find -me- attract-attractive. I am short and ug-ugly. I-III am a fre-freak." Here was a boy in need of help. He thought he was ugly and a freak. He didn't grow up happy. He grew up in an abusive home. His father called him bad names and his mother beat him. He knew that his brother would always protect him. Now, that he was gone...who would protect him now? He was afraid. He didn't understand why. He was very jumpy.
Kalaht was deathly afraid of Kegin's brother, whoever He was. His brother had killed a handful of his friends plus He possibly had a hand in murdering his brother. How can you avenge someone if you are terrified of them?

Kegin burst out into laughter. "Yes you are all those things. But so what. So am I. Who cares what you look like. Who cares what others think. Just keep your nose clean and I am sure everything will be fine. As for her you already lost. I saw her first." Kegin chuckled. He thought maybe a friendly rivalry would help with this boy's confidence. Kegin didn't really have any himself when it came to girls. But everything else he had enough to spare.
Kegin grinned and looked at Kalaht. "Just be yourself and I am sure someone will see the real you. Not the stuttering mess that you have shown us right now. So if you don't mind shut your trap and let the real you speak. I have lost interest in that stutter." Kegin looked at Kalaht with challenge in his eyes. He felt like this might be the easiest way to help.
