Perhaps white, but who knew what dirt smudged the canvas below that coat of innocent paint? Dhunen looked back toward Ez for a long few moments. When he agreed, at least, on the point of there needing to be more, that seemed to satisfy him. Dhunen skipped another rock over the surface of the water, his face straight and calm.
"I'm not really all that hungry. Just figured it polite to ask. I tend to be a bit overbearing when I run off on tangents." Dhunen admitted, lips quirking up at one end in a light smirk. "Just so you know, it's not going to hurt my feelings any if it gets too heavy and you want a breather. Being on my own isn't something that depresses me." A pause, and he looked at Ez again. "Not that I don't enjoy your company, mind." He specified. Walking over, he handed Ez a small, flat rock and gestured, with a sweeping hand, out toward the lake. "Care to try your luck?"

Ez pursed his lips. “You’re hardly overbearing Dhunen. You’re company is comfortable.” He smiled gently, “And in some strange way, I was just thinking about how comfortable a person can be in your company.” He took a step towards where Dhunen was stood. He looked at the stone – almost suspicious. He’d not skimmed stones in about five turns now. But he was pretty good when he did – far too much idle time as a youth, obviously, to have perfected something like stone skimming. He used to be able to get about seven to ten skips off of a good stone. Dhunen skimmed his one across the surface of the calm lake. He did sort of want to give it a try.
“Well I’m gladdened to hear that one Dhunen.” He searched around, found a nice one, smooth, relatively flat, and a little weight behind it. “I think it’s less about luck Dhunen…” muscles tensed, and with a flick of his hand he whipped the stone over the water, about four bounces before it sunk to the depths of the lake. He winced, perhaps he’d lost the knack. I used to be pretty good at it. Guess I’m rusty.” He shrugged, picking a few more stones from the surrounding area.
“You said about liking your own company?” Ez readdressed a point earlier that was nagging at his mind. “I tend to become a little maudlin if I spend to much time alone.” He shook his head, “Think to much, and linger on things… that I shouldn’t. And I don’t like that, I like being optimistic, a good outlook on life, a nice positive perspective.” He nodded. Skimming another stone across the lake, it hopped about 7 times, he smiled, feeling a little more like himself.
Silently he was thankful that Dhunen wasn’t really hungry – he didn’t fancy the lower caverns right about now.
