Guess who's been playing with the Weyr again?
Yep! Me =D
Hope no one particularly minds - especially Hawky...
But! I wanna explain what I've done, and this place seemed the best place to tell and explain what I've done.
I registered Dark Moon Weyr with Pern Topsites. That's what that little button at the top there is! It'll open a new page/tab (depending on your browser). It's a garishly purple page, but bear with it!!! at the base of this page, there's two links.
One allows you to enter and not vote - the other registers your vote for us. This will give us another vote! Woo!
I see it as free advertising, with a little help from all of you guys. You can only register a vote once a day. But, we have around 8-10 people who frequent this place like hardcore fans. So, i see that like we'll actually get level with some of the other weyrs, and get to the front page pretty quick!
All you guys need to do, is to click on that button once a day. And we get better and better advertising, and show how strong our community is.
((not that I'll get pleasure at all from beating certain other weyrs on there... I'm not competitive... at all... seriously... >.>))
Oh, and I'll post the details for the account on the topsites in the admin board so you guys can all access it =D
Right, and on a small sidenote - I've also put the affiliates into some sort of order, and boxed them in, and placed a link at the bottom of the box (which I'm sure you can all see) so that any potential Affiliates, know where to go to affiliate! =D
If there's any... severe opposition to what I've done, I can rectify any and all of it if needed =)

Also, if y'all would like to give it a test drive, I just created a new skin for the forum. To change it, go into Modify Profile and scroll down to 'Forum Skin' and choose 'Dark Moon' from the drop down menu.  |

Guys, please WARN me before you do something while I'm asleep!
Pan honey is there any way that you can take that little button and put it in that text box to the right of the top image? Where it says plot timeline will soon be up?
Also, what did you do to change the width of the board? I prefer it wider. The way it is now it looks cramped.
Love the way the affiliates look and thank you for registering us with the fansites! (Don't want you to think I'm going to be completely ungrateful and nit picky)

lol - as mentioned in the c-box - I didn't know how to limit the size of the board - shek did that, and I can't see for the life in me (shells my lack of proboards-ness)where she put it!! So, when shek's back, I'll nag her about it. I woulda warned you hawk! But it would have been senseless... cos, you woulda got it in a PM /after/ I'd done it xD I went into a fit of "Affiliates are sooooooo untidy!!!! :@ rrrgggg" and had to sort it out *sigh* I hate ocd sometimes. In some strange irony, I was planning on puttingthe button there anyway? But that is where the plotline always went... and well.. I didn't wanna just put it there and ignore the fact that it was there >.> I figured I'd create a little box and put it there xD And then i could delete or move as appropriate! Also - the only reason it went on the front page was because topsites stipulates as such. You need it in a prominent place... and i figured there was prominent xD Hope i've not ticked you off with this  EditOh - and another mild edit...to the site like... I've plopped the topsites thing up into the box as recommended. And i justified all off the affiliates, added a swirly thingy... and made the affiliates all 88x31 (you did say we would do this in the affiliates thread, I'm just enforcing that =) ) I also Target=_blank 'ed all of them, cos, well the last thing we want is people directly leaving here to go there haha sneaky and conniving xD |

I like the little decorative bar in the affiliates thing. Umm..what did you do to the affiliates? I have no clue what you said.
I'm not mad..just surprised. Thanks for putting us up. We need some more votes to get higher in the rankings..I AM competitive and I want to be past a certain site. We know we're better *grins*
Yeah they're supposed to be a certain size. I just don't know how to resize them so thanks for that. Araelen's and Wings of Pern was driving me nuts!

ahahaha - yeah i found that you had stipulated as such and so i changed 'em. All you gotta do is in the img src tag... <a href="url"><img src="pics url" border="0" width="88" height="31" alt="name of site/catchphrase"></a> Add that little piece and it limits the size of the icon, and takes away any possible bored. And justifying the affiliates? Just means that I've managed to make them space perfectly in the allocated area =D cos I'm a geek... Basically! lol Haha! Yes! I know what you mean, we are beating them /already/. I'd also like us to get on the front page, nad possibly give Dalibor and Araelen a run for their marks. but yeah! =D |

I beleive sister sites are sites that were created together. Sometimes, a pair of sister sites are two different weyrs in the same version of Pern. Meaning Charries can actually bounce between the two sites, when they travel from one Weyr to the other, or something like that.
I am not really all that sure exactly. Sometimes, I know, the same admin team will be running more than one site ... and sometimes those are considered sister sights.

from my experience ... Sister sites are deemed as sites that are set in the same reality/time/situation of Pern itself.
Eg - a non-avias semi-canon pern would not be paired with an Avais non-canon pern. Sort of... thing.
So for example, if Dark Moon had a Sister weyr, say Light Star Weyr (opposites are fun!) the effects of the hurricane might have been noted there too, or, we could legitamately transfer ICly a gold egg from Light sun to here, or vice versa. I've never heard of the bouncing characters... but its and interesting prospect!!!

Just in case you don't see it in the chatango, Pan, we had a weyr that didnt post our image in their affiliates. There was another one but I can't for the life of me remember which one it was. So that one will be deleted as soon as I figure out which one it is.

Hmmm =) Well that's fine, as mentioned in the c'n'g - I fixed the coding, and the stars arent gone the note remains, but you just cant see it in that box. mmm And with that! I lay my gloves down for about the next week =) Enjoy! hope y'all miss me... just a little even!! xD And hawk? Can you have skimmed over the fuana if possible by the time I return? Else I'm posting it up errors or no errors xD Just edit it where you see spelling error |
