The little egg split to reveal a sapphire-blue dragonet, the light of the rising sun glinting off of her wet hide. But the attnetion of the crowd was not on her. ((I know this is unorthodox, but I reallyreallyreallyreallyreally want this little blue to be a girl...please? *puppy dog eyes*))

ooc: ha! I've been in several non-canon Weyrs/Boards. I don't care, it's always fun to have sport/mutation colors!!  ic: Cristae turned to look at the blue for a moment. It was very beautiful, whoever Impressed to it was lucky. Something was different about it... Now she didn't know where to look! Once again, she watched both, waiting. |

Rior was watching the queen try to nose her way out of her egg when the other egg hatched. Out of the corner of his eye he saw the sapphire blue dragonet. It didn’t look like the queen was going towards a candidate right that second so Rior chanced a glance at the blue.

The Queen took her time, high-stepping over the sands in order to not dirty her claws. She did not keen, she was instead silent, her eyes flicking over the females slowly, taking her time.
The little blue moved over the sands as well, following the queen with a mixture of adoration and curiosity. She passed Rior and Nike, gazing over the candidates with a keen eye.

Nike looked as the female blue passed her. Why was Nike
so attracked to blue? She didn't know. But she loved the color.

Passed by again. Rior frowned as he watched the blue follow the queen down the line. He glanced over at the remaining eggs then back at the two dragonets wondering who they would choose.

The gold finally stopped, in the midst of all the females. She looked around with a measured eye, looking past Most as though they didn't exist. Then her eyes stopped on one of the girls, and she lost her regal attitude, for a moment completely overcome with longing and love. She had found her Mine. It was...[duhduhduhduh...I love torturing you guys!]

The blue stopped directly in front of Lelia and pushed her backward with her blunt, triangular nose. Lelia stumbled a bit, and then regained her balance, moving aside so the blue could go on her way. But to her surprise, the blue followed her, and then she realized in an explosion of joy as the blue's voice resounded in her head.[glow=aqua] LeliaMine, Why do you move? Cristae tore her eyes from the gold for a moment to see Lelia Impress to the blue. Oh, how that girl deserved it! She was so happy for her. Taking a breath, she watched the gold out of the corner of her eye.

It looked like the queen found her mine, farther down the line. Rior couldn’t tell who from where he stood so he took a step forward so he could see down the line. Then he noticed that the sapphire blue dragonet was standing at Lelia’s feet and noticed the look of adoration on Lelia’s face. Rior grinned and clapped,” Lelia, you impressed!” though he didn’t sound surprised.

Nike saw the queen Impress. She surprisingly wasn't disappointed.
Odd. She put a big smile on her face, then clapped loudly for the new
queenrider.

Applause resonated through the sands as the entire crowd stood and clapped until their hands were red. Cylene breathed out slowly, a smile on her face, finally satisfied that her weyr would be in good hands.
Heleth let out a frightened bugle and Cylene went limp against the golden Queen's side. After a moment of awed silence, Heleth disappeared, and Cylene's body lay calmly on the sand, happy in her final moments.
The happiness of the dragonet's Impression was dampened with the Queen's death, and everyone felt an awkward lurch.
