"Perhaps but I never taught her to exchange words for fists", he said to her. He didn't like the fact that Miya had lashed out first just out of anger. That was something G'han was dead set against.

"G'han stop spreading rumors. You weren't there the whole time, a lot happpened before you came. Haven't you learned not to believe everything you hear?" Miya came out of the nighttime darkness. Her face was blank, as usual, but her eyes were lost and confused. At that point she had thought that he hated her more than ever, but then he kissed her. She didn't know what to think. "There were plenty of words being exchanged, don't act like you know everything." She said sourly.

"Be that as it may you misused what I taught you and for your lack of control I am no longer allowed to train you and given the chance now I wouldn't", he said to her. G'han would still keep training to himself. He had his reasons to do so. Something that went back far beyond his time here.

Miya snorted. "If you knew the whole story I doubt you would feel the same way." Miya said simply, but didn't give G'han the chance to reply. She immediantly turned around and headed for the tiers. She took a seat in the first row, her eyes on the eggs.
Kalie and Tonu flew around above the candidates and riders, crooning on the clutching.

A blue flitt sat on the tiers far from where the Candidates and riders gathered. It was such a small flitt that it was always easily missed but what it didn't miss was the eggs. And its sendings went straight to its bonded. Who jumped up in suprise and could barly contain herself. The clutching was finally here!

A lot of people had come onto the Sands, so the news of the Clutching must have spread quickly. Though Kaith had yet to lay another egg, Chera still found the event exciting. Many people were chatting amongst themselves, and she decided to do the same. She put on a smile, and walked up to a lone girl Candidate.
"Hello." Chera said, smiling a little. "Marvelous clutch, isn't it?" ((That was for Remi, in case you couldn't tell.))

Kaith preened with all of the attention being lavished on her and her clutch. She bowed her head regally to the riders and Candidates that stood there watching her. She moved to a spot near her already-clutched eggs and prepared to lay another. Christae could feel the faint contractions coming through her bond to the great Queen. Kaith's bulk hid the egg for a few moments and then she stepped back so that they could see the yellowish-orange egg. The egg appeared to be a solid color at first but at a closer look, it was yellow with orange dots all across its surface that made it appear yellow-orange. It was pale, almost golden. The egg was not a Queen egg, however. Queen eggs were bright gold, not pale yellow speckled with orange. Also, the egg was too small and was not set apart on its own mound like all Queen eggs.

T'rin was in the kitchens hogging bubbly pies from Uslanee when Amparath informed him that Kaith was clutching.
"About time," he said, "she was getting very egg-heavy. I think she'll have quite a large clutch this time."
We don't know that, said Amparath sulkily. We weren't at the flight.
"I've heard all about it, and it was a long, strenuous one. She'll clutch well." With that T'rin headed over to the Hatching Grounds. He stopped a ways back from the already-forming crowd, because he saw Miya standing in it, and wanted to stay away from her if she didn't want him around. He was still stinging from when she had completely ignored him a couple days before.

Valkoran was on his way to the library when he decided to try a different route-- he always used the same one and he hadn't explored much yet. He took a left instead of a right and wound his way around from there in what he thought was the general direction of one of his favorite places in the weyr: where all the hides and scrolls were.
Instead of emerging near the library, he came out into a crowd of people all gathered around... a queen dragon? He wondered which one it was until he noted her size and the four eggs already around her. Then it hit him. An egg might be laid now that might belong to me! She's laying her eggs, for the Hatching I'm to stand at! He looked around for Jess, but saw she hadn't arrived yet. He waited for her on the side where she could see him easily, and gazed, awestruck, at the four, rather unusual eggs.

In the barracks the female had been one of the first to rise, being the early bird she had always been Fussing and rumors about the clutch being -or in process of being - laid were the new talk and whispering in the girls' side of the barracks. A few had already gone ahead to praise the mother and watch the clutching, and Rizu didn't wished to be left behind. Standing quickly she fixed her bed, knowing well the Candidate Master would have their necks if they did not do this, before going to the trunk at the end. From there she fetched some simple trousers and a short sleeved tunic, tossing both items over her petite form before storming out of the barracks in wher hide shoes. No need to suffer twice what she would when hatching time came, though the worn out shoes would probably provide little shelter against the heat. Then again, compared to sandals, they were Heaven.
She was almost at the entrance before scampering back to her bed, picking up sketch book and carbon pencil before then running out and into the male barracks. As usual, while all the others were awake or already gone, her brother was still wrapped like a burrito in his bed furs. Scowling she jumped on the bed, startling the male who had a rude encounter with the floor. “Shard it Rizu! Why did you do that for-” She cut him off, already knowing the speech by memory. “Kaith's clutching! Kaith's clutching! Let's go see!” He quickly dressed, being dragged off by his younger sister and to the Hatching Grounds. Upon entering they took an empty spot among the group of Weyrleaders, candidates and dragons, both giving a formal bow to the Golden Mother before their gaze fell onto the eggs everyone was already lavishing over.
“They're shiny.”
Came the comment of the male, slightly surprised. The first clutch he had attended when young hadn't had eggs so... Peculiar as these. Besides him Rizu stared with awe written all over her. They were gorgeous, marvelous, breath-taking!
“They're... They're the most beautiful things I've ever seen. Kaith and Myraneth must surely be amazingly proud.”
The item on her hands was shifted, opening the sketchpad as she positioned it on a comfortable manner. Tracing slightly she focused on getting the basic shape of the eggs for now. Later, once the clutching was done and the dragoness had rested and recovered her strengths, Rizu would ask the Weyrwoman and her Kaith if neither would have a problem of her staying a bit longer as she sketched the clutch. If they wanted she would even sketch it twice, keeping one for her and the other for the Weyrleaders. Frankly, she wouldn't mind sketching it a thousand times over.

((Miya isn't in the crowd. She is sitting in the front row in the tiers.))
Jakel jumped up and pointed. "Look, look. Another egg!" He said excitedly. At first glance it looked to be the only plain eggshell, but slowly he realized it wasn't. "Only four eggs and one can tell that this will be one crazy clutch." He laughed.

Kaith turned away from her newest egg after preening over it for a few minutes and bent to lay another egg. This one did not take as long to lay as the yellow-orange one before. She dropped her fifth egg and fussed over it. "Now I know why it takes Queens so long to clutch. They preen over every egg. It takes forever. They are so vain." Christae told the riders and Candidates around her. She laughed, her face shining with pride over her beloved soulmate. The fifth egg was smaller than the others, but not by much. It was around the same size as the gold-flecked turquoise and brown egg that had been hatched before. This egg was a dark blue-black, almost like the night sky. Indeed, the egg was speckled with star-like spots all over its smooth surface. The egg looked like a moonless night on Pern. There was even a brighter space that could be one of the neighboring galaxies on the egg's gleaming shell.

Jakel laughed at the Weyrwoman's remark, but he realized it wasn't that different from a humans birth. THe main differance was that dragons had a lot more babies. "I like that one." Jakel pointed out the newest egg. It looked sharding cool.

The last one had been one impressive egg, the male had to agree on the comment of another candidate. It really did remind him of a moonless night sky here in Pern. Besides him his sister moved and shifted like a nervous mouse from all the excitement. The words of the Weyrwoman were registered, the red-head chuckling softly.
“I don't think it's bad for her to preen every egg she lays. After all, they contain her children.”
Once the egg was placed in it's spot the female made a quick oval in the paper of her sketchpad, marking the spot in her sketch. Though she would have to wait till the gold finished clutching all of her eggs so she could really sketch her and the new clutch. For now she simply made faint markings, guides that would be used later.

"Yes, it is a beautilful clutch," Remi breathed softly. She didn't realize fully that the girl was only talking to her, until she turned around.

Sh'iron smiled, and put an arm around Chrisate's shoulders. "Kaith, you have out done yourself right now," He said. So far, no queen egg, but there were two in the Weyr. One fully mature, and the other so close to being mature. Soon, the population of Dark Moon would go up, and the Weyr would be prepared for Thread.
A grin formed on his lips, and stayed there, watching each egg, shining. Myranenth crooned to Kaith. Keep going! You are doing great! He told his mate.

Both Akki and Hasima marvelled at the black egg, it seemed endless like a night sky with each. These eggs were most definitley different than the ones Akki saw the first time she ever saw some, each egg had something new about it, the colour or even the size.
Akki mocked hitting G'han and said, "G'han don't ruin this moment with a quarrel with Miya. This is Kaith's moment and she deserves all the attention, not Miya and her harsh, or what she considers harsh, words.". Akki then left G'han and stood by Hasima who stared slightly at her, nervous that a person, who was a rider, was standing so close. "Marvelous aren't they?" She asked.
Hasima nodded, well more jerked her head, in reply. Yes, they were. And she would stand on the sands and try to Impress, something she could barely wait for as she looked over the eggs. She could Impress one of these ones already clutched, or one that was waiting to be clutched. Or she couldn't Impress at all she thought numbly. Still, even seeing these eggs was a great honour for her, after all she thought that she would never amount to anything.

Jessalyn had slowly been getting used to life in the Weyr and one of the things she was having the hardest time getting used to was the constant noise. Even in the dead of night or just before dawn when things should be the quietest, there was still noise in the Weyr.
As an early riser anyway, one tends to be that way when they've worked with runner's all their lives, Jessa was up and getting dressed when the regular pre-dawn noises suddenly started to increase. She already had her breeches on, so she pulled on a long sleeved tunic and her boots. As soon as her boots were laced up, she was out the door looking in all directions to see what was the matter. Surely this many people didn't bustle about this early if there wasn't an emergency somewhere in the Weyr.
Not seeing any immediate signs of trouble, Jessa just followed the crowd and eventually she was dragged along with the masses to a huge and very warm cavern. From the noise inside, even though it felt hushed, Jessa figured most of the Weyr's occupants were already gathered in the cavern.
Just the thought of that many people made her skin crawl so Jessa focussed on finding just one person. The one person she knew as more than an aquaintance, Valkoran. It didn't take her long to spot him as he was waiting along the edges of the throng of people and so she pushed her way through the crowd to him.
Once she reached him, Jessa asked, "What's going on?" Just as she finished asking, the crowd parted momentarily and Jessa saw a sight she would remember forever. There was the biggest dragon she'd ever seen, not that she'd seen many, and it was a queen judging by the color. And on the sand surrounding the queen were eggs. Jessa gawked and tore her gaze from the queen and her eggs to look at Valkoran questioningly, then she looked back to the eggs when she noticed his gaze focussed on them as well. At a loss for words, Jessa stood in awe and watched along with the rest of the Weyr as Kaith laid her clutch, the next generation of dragons.

Pulling Sleep from her eyes Rifenjesk awoke, hearing footsteps and dragon's crooning she rose a brow. It was still slightly early, or so her deprivation of sleep was screaming to her, lightly she made way to the grounds were everyone seemed to want to be this morning.
Mingling in with the crowd, she saw the source. Kaith has clutched! And with such amazing looking eggs as well. A slight grin tugged to her lips as she felt the jubilant emotion of the event.
-- I'pod returned from the feeding grounds helping his rather runtish green find a wherrie. Finding no one in the kitchens, and rather in need of klah, he fixed some for himself. And made way to the corridor. Still finding no one. Confused until Scrandanfibrith reached out to him from her normal sunning spot. ~She clutchedmine.~ Thats right the gold he told himself. Kaith. not on for social things, or large crowds in general he silently made way to the grounds on which the eggs were laid. And tottered on the outskirts of the crowd listening to the excited conversation and stealing a glance or three at the eggs, rembering his impression to Scrandanfibrith.
