Akki sat at the waters edge, cupping her hands until water filled up with in them before letting the water fall, drop by drop, watching the small rings of waves that spread out with ever drop falling into the water.
Today was what she would call a dead day. A day where nothing happened, a day where all seemed silent. A day where everything seemed dead. Not that she minded, a dead day was what she needed. A day to collect her thoughts, to get them in order.
She could remember when she first came here, meeting Nike for the first time, watching as Ebbeth stumbled on the sand as he looked at each candidate, the Weyrling lessons that seemed so new to her, Tirith going /Between/, and how the Weyr seemed to swell in size. She smiled thinly to herself as she watched another drop of water hit the lake, this place seemed like home now. She could barely remember her actual home.
Or her brother. She wanted to see him, meet Prirth who she was only told about. She wanted him to meet Ebbeth, to say he was proud of her. It was all dreams of hers however, she knew she probably would not see him. Everyone had someone, not including dragons. G'han and Rhia, Christae and Sh'iron and K'dan and Nike. She had friends, but it was odd to have some who weren't the same age, or who weren't busy with duties.
Ebbeth was slipping through the water, keeping a faceted eye on his mine. She seemed quiet today, and she seemed distracted but he didn't want to disturb her. She didn't have much time to reflect over her life he supposed. Akki was odd, she never looked like she was upset by something really, but he could sense it within her but he never told anyone if she was upset by something.
Akki looked at her blue, smiling slightly bigger. She was lucky, she had Ebbeth who was one of the few who /actually/ understood her. He would be there for her, no matter what. She dipped a finger in the water and made circles with it and spoke to her blue, "It's a dead day today Ebbeth. A dead day.".

Dicer walked over to the water a good bit aways from Akki but within sight of her. His cloak covering his dark figure and his hair always covering that one eye. It seemed a symbol to the person he was, concealed. But he didn't like people, they got on his nerves, something he developed by having so many brothers and sisters and having a bronzerider brother and a youngest sister who got all his parents attention. He sat down and pulled out the knife and cleaned it. He remembered his brother, a blue rider and the only family member he could stand. The knife was a gift from him and the only memory he had of him now. He was too busy to see him now that he was a rider.

She blinked, and her eyes went back into focus for a moment before they were viewing the past. She seemed out of place with the other riders, they were so...experienced. She rarely flew with Ebbeth, she was awkward with the others. I will improve, I swear She promised to herself. She would not give up on it, she would learn all over again. However she wasn't sure if she would ever not feel awkward while in /between/.
She noticed a change in Ebbeth, he no longer seemed serene, slightly bitterness emitted from him. She looked around and spotted Dicer, with his famous knife. What was with that knife anyways? She shrugged, she could ask but he would probably snap at her. Besides if he wanted to talk he could go to her. Yeah, right.

When Dicer was done cleaning the knife he lifted it slightly in the air and flipped it around a bit giving it a once over. "Maybe I will see you again one day", he said. He flipped the blade around some more, twirling it around and such. Then he noticed Akki and put it back up. He leaned up against a nearby rock and looked out over the lake. For some reason he could atleast stomach Akki's prescence, everyone else was general loathing and despising.

She watched him in the corner of her eye as he flipped around the knife. Her mind went to hers, hidden away in folds of cloth. Hers was plain and drab, it was simple and rarely used but she still treasured it. His was...different? Intricate? Special. There's something about that knife she thought to herself. She shrugged and went back to make the patterns in the water. She had expected some caustic comment from Dicer, and yet she hadn't recieved one. Odd.

"Peaceful", he said. Mosty in Akki's general direction but made it seem like a general comment. He put his hands behind his head as he leaned his head back on the rock. The lake was a nice place to be, quiet and peaceful, even if someone was there. For Dicer that was rare in itself that he spoke to someone in their general direction like that without provacation.

Ebbeth lifted his head from out of the water and stared at Dicer, slightly surprised something than a sarcastic comment came out of it. He flicked his tail gently across the water, sending ripples that travelled across the surface, hitting Akki's finger softly. "Of course it is. It's a dead day." She replied softly. She feared if she talked too loudly something would happen, killing the day as quickly as it had started. She didn't want that to happen, she wanted this time for everything, but mostly to think.

"There is nothing wrong with that", he said plainly and simply. Why was he being so nice to her and why did he actually say something to her? He had to ponder to himself what the heck was he doing? He closed the only eye visible from his hair. Dicer was a bit of a mystery, all covered up to the point that even half of his face didn't show due to his hair. His cloak covered his frame all the way up to his neck. He felt at peace as the breeze blew across him. He reveled in these days. Peaceful and no one around to ruin it for him or so he thought anyway. For some reason this girl didn't agitate him as much as the others.

Ooc|| Go ahead ^^
Akki nodded. She loved these kind of days, but they were so rare around here. At Durth she had so many, some in a row. Here, it was too hectic, you had to cherish these days here. Dicer seemed different here, he didn't say anything sarcastic and he forgot about the issue with K'dan or so it seemed. She definitly liked him better like this. Ebbeth slinked towards Akki, his body cutting through the water. He's different today, like you said. Maybe he has a... split personality Akki somehow doubted that, perhaps he needed this day too.

Dicer closed the only visible eye but didn't fall asleep, he merely basked in the peace and tranquility of the lake. It seemed here there weren't many people to bother him and the only one there was Akki and she wasn't in his face about anything like the others. Perhaps it was because she was a blue rider that he could stomach her for his brother was a bluerider but then there was K'dan and the two despised each other. Perhaps she reminded him a bit of his brother. Always with his odd jokes and sense of humor but he never pushed Dicer to be something he didn't want and didn't try to change the person he was. His brother allowed him to be who he wanted and often called him unique and different. Dicer liked those comments from his brother. Dicer always strived to be his own person and not someone that everyone wanted him to be.

Ebbeth flicked his tail across the water again, spraying small droplets of water basically everywhere. Akki flung her arm in front of her face but it was too late and soon her head was matted down with water. She sighed, just like Ebbeth to kill a nice day. Oops Ebbeth said sheepishly, slipping underneath the lake surface. She rolled her eyes and attempted to wipe the water off of her, with little or not success.

Dicer opened his eyes, a bit annoyed at the tiny bit of commotion. He hoped they wouldn't ruin this one time of peace for him. He gave a bit of a huff and closed his eyes again.

Ebbeth, don't cause any trouble. Obviously I'm not the only one here and he seems annoyed by that little stunt Akki scolded him silently as she made a swirly pattern in the water, watching ripples explode from it. It was odd, there was complete silence in the air, but it wasn't uncomfortable. It was, mysterious she supposed. No one really knew anything about Dicer, and she wanted too. Why not, she was curious enough. He would be her project maybe, as she tried to figure him out. She basically had the rest of the people here figured out, why not try another one?

Dicer gave a sigh as he settled down. Things easily annoyed him, people for instance, so he was always in an agitated annoyed mood. He didn't mind the silence between them, infact he enjoyed it. Atleast she wasn't getting in his face about the way he was and she was at a good comfortable distance for him. As far as he was concerned he had his personal space.

Of course she couldn't go to him, he had to come to her or someone else. So she could find things out. At Durth she was good at finding things out, it was her talent that few knew about. Well, her brother knew but only because he helped at times. She knew you couldn't just walk up to someone and start quizzing them. That's very inconspicious right? Don't go over your head Ebbeth warned from the lake. She smiled to herself, when doesn't she go over head?

He opened his one green eye that was visible and glanced over at Akki. She seemed contemplative and quiet. The first time he met her she was talkative and had that odd sense of humor kind of like her brother. What was her favorite name for him, klah? He found it a bit amusing now for some reason. No mistake he wasn't warming up or anything, he simply found it amusing. There was really no mystery of his past, the only mystery being that he never shared who he was or where he came from, no one knew really. His personality on the otherhand was. Was he truely an evil individual or was there a shred of goodness in his heart. He was never the one to be nice but he never did anything like murder someone, perhaps he was somewhere inbetween, but didn't that confuse him all the more. Perhaps he was evil but he just found it necesary not to do such horrible things such as kill people. He reclosed his eye and wondered to himself. He was still young and still trying to find his own way and make his own path.

She blinked, shrugged her shoulders for absolutely no reason and laid on the ground, watching her blue glide in the water. She didn't feel like talking today, that wasn't what dead days were for, that just wasted them. They were for everything, anything that you couldn't do on a normal day. She stretched and closed her eyes, she wanted something to happen and yet she didn't. It was hard to explain. She wanted something to happen, but she didn't want it to kill the day was the best way to explain it I suppose.

The more he thought about it the more he wanted to stop thinking about it. Dicer really didn't know who he was. He was this anti social person that couldn't stand people or most anything in general, that much he knew and it didn't bother him. He didn't mind pulling his knife out on someone if they bothered to stay in his face but he wouldn't murder someone for the heck of it. He weighed between what he would and wouldn't do trying to decided but couldn't. Really the term to describe himself he was looking for was perhaps dark. Not truely evil but not a good person either. He soon discarded the thought and opened his eyes again. He looked back at Akki. Was she waiting for something to happen? Why did he care in the first place? He took out the blade again and looked at it. It was longer than most any knife and had fine designs on the blade itself. The hilt of it was comfortable to hold, but had no initial design other than its black cloration. it was sharp on both edges and had a nice point to it. He kept it sharp and cleaned always and it always looked brand new. He put it back and gave a bored sigh. He guessed he would take a nap here or something, seeing as how this was the only place of peace he got here. "So tell me. Are these quiet days this rare at this weyr", he asked her plainly. Once again he spoke to the girl without provocation. Perhaps she wasn't such a bad person to atleast ask such a question to. It was merely to gain information on his part right? It wasn't like he was trying to start a conversation with her or anything.

She snorted, opened on eye and stared at him and said "They are rarer than you can imagine. Normally it's too hectic to even come to the lake, let alone have a quiet day. All though, I can't say much, I do disrupt alot of quiet days. Not today though, I hope.". This guy was like Miya when she first came, Akki could stand Miya now, they weren't the best of friends. Actually, she doubted Miya even considered her a friend....
