It was early in the morning. The sun was just over the mountains. The grass and plants outside still had dew on them. The weyr was busy preparing the things that would be needed for the day. Today seemed like a calm day.
Coming up the entrance of the Weyr were four figures. Two stood closer together, and a little apart from the others. Packs were on their backs, and they lead runners. The female of the two had long, thick red hair. Gray and white streaks ran though the whole length. Deep blue eyes peered out of her old, slightly wrinkled face. She was short, just reaching five feet. The look of long days travling were on her.
The male looked the same way. Black hair was brushed under her large brimmed hat. Streaks of gray and white also were there. The man was taller than her wife. His hands were braod ans strong, showing that he was a smith. Bright green eyes twinkled as he looked around the Weyr.
"Where do you think she is?" The woman asked her husband. "I don't know. Mabey we should check over there," the man pointed to the entrance of the Lower Caverens. He turned to the other two. waiting for their response. "I can't wait until we find her! I have been waiting so long to meet, Nevanikea," The woman said and headed off to the feeding padoxs where her runner was going to be placed. "Doesn't she have a green dragon?" she asked her husband. The man followed. "I think so."
Meanwhile, in the Caverens, Nike said at a table, scarfing down her breakfast. Zim and Crystal were perched on her shoulders and watched her eat. She took a sip of klah before resting back in her chair. A smile on her face. "Today is going to be well, strange," She said to herself, taking another sip of klah.

Siarath was swirling in the air. She was just stretching her wings.
Nira sat on her back, enjoying the break. They had been busy lately, but this morning she made time to go flying with the green. It was quality time.
Nira allowed the wind to whip in her face, causing the dark locks to dance around her head, beneath her helmet.
Mine, there are strange people down there. Siarath reported, her sharp eyes catching the movement of the people, that her bonded's human eyes couldn't see.
~Really?~ Nira looked down but still couldn't see anything from their hight.
I will show you. Siarath replied. She spiraled down, getting closer and closer to the ground. She landed a bit away from the group, so as not to get dust and dirt in their faces.
~You are right as always.~ Nira replied to Siarath, scratching the green's eyeridged. She walked over to the group with Siarath by her side. "May I help you?" She asked politly.

The woman, who was named Fallanora looked up as a green dragon came gliding down. "Do you think it is her?" She asked her husband, and the other two. The man, Havena, shrugged. "It might be her. She has been here more than four Turns, according to her foster Mother." Fallanora led the way to the green dragon and her rider. "We are looking for our granddaughter, Nevanikea," She said proudly, holding her head high.
Havena nodded. "Yes, these are Nevanikea's other grandparents," He said, gesturing to the other two.
((Those will be played by K'dan. Make up the names.))

Christae was alerted by the watchdragon that visitors were approaching the Weyr. Kaith raised her great head and bugled. The large Queen was sunning herself, an occupation that the Queen did more and more often. Christae rose from her desk in the Weyrleaders' office and walked to the door. She saw strangers crossing the Weyrbowl toward Lower Caverns.
~Were we expecting visitors today?~ Not that I know of.
Christae frowned. If any of the riders or weyrpeople were hosting visitors they were supposed to clear it with the Weyrleaders. Sh'iron hadn't told her anything about visitors coming to the Weyr. She walked across the portion of the bowl where from where the office was. She stopped when she saw someone leading a runner off to the feeding paddocks.
"Excuse me." She called out. "You don't want to bring your runner there. The dragons feed from that paddock and I can't guarantee that they won't eat your runner. There are stables that way." She guestured in the direction of the stables, remembering with a pang that she hadn't ridden Sundance in a while.
"May I ask who you are? We were not expecting visitors to the Weyr today. I am Weyrwoman Christae of Sr. Queen Kaith." She waited for an answer, shifting her blue tunic to set on her slender frame better. She nodded a greeting to Nira and Siarath.

"Nevanikea?" Nira gave a questioning look. "I don't beleive there is a Nevanikea at this Weyr." Nira glanced at Siarath to see if she knew anything but the green only nodded her head. "Maybe you could tell me her dragon's name? Or maybe a description of your granddaughter?" She asked hopefully.

Fallanora smiled at the green rider. "You sure? We were sent to this Weyr. Well she has a green dragon, that we know off. And a gold firelizard. We don't know the names sadly. Nevanikea is also called Nike," She said, then turned to the newer woman who approched. Havena smiled at the Weyrwoman. "We are sorry Weyrwoman, and thank you. My wife, and our friends came here from Southern Boll in search of our granddaughter, Nevanikea. Do you know her?" His last words made him want to kick himself. Of course the Weyrwoman would know his granddaughter.

"Hello Christae." Nira smiled in greeting. She then turned to the visitors. "I know who Nike is. I can take you to her, I beleive she is in the lower caverns now. But I think there is something you should know first. Nike's green..." Nira paused. This was always a hard subject, "well, she went between. But don't worry, Nike re-impressed a very healthy white named Ruanth. Weyrwoman Christae, I would be glad to show our visitors to the whiterider." Nira smiled.

Fallanora gave a puzzled look at the green rider. She was about to speak, but then a tear came to her eyes as she heard what happened to her Nike's dragon. The tears were soon gone as she heard the news of her re-Impressing. "A white?" Havena asked in awe. His green eyes scanned the rim, and sure enough he spotted a tiny white dragon, sunning herself. "Wow! I never thought the day would come when I would see a white dragon!" Fallanora said, then turned to Nira. "I would love you to take us all to her. After we get our runners settle," the old woman said, leading the runners off to the stables, Havena following her with the other runners. Leaving the other two to stay with Nira.

Christae raised her eyebrows. "We were not notified of your visit. Will you be staying for a few days? If so, we have guest quarters that we can prepare for you to remain in. It is a pleasure to meet you. Nike was in the dining cavern the last time I saw her."
She turned to Nira. "That would be great. I could see to the guest quarters if they are staying. Tell Nike that I will get another Healer to take over her rounds until her grandparents leave."

"Very well." Nira nodded.
((Very short. I just need her grandparents to return.))

"We are also her grandparents. I am Aiden and this is my wife, Carlona", Aiden spoke to them.
K'dan walked to the lower caverns and spotted Nike. He walked over and gave her a slight kiss on the cheek. "Eating alone are we?", he asked in a joking tone. Sharan flew to his shoulder and chirped happily at the two.

"Nice to meet you." Nira smiled. "I am Nira, greenrider of Siarath.
**************************
Miya walked up to Nike. "So, I see you two are back together." Miya smiled. Reinath was now too big to fit inside, so she was sunbathing by the lake.

"And here I thought my day was starting out right. Hello Miya", K'dan said to her with a smirk. Just great Nike and him finaly get together and who is one of the first ones to know, Miya. The last person on pern he wanted to know, especially due to past events. Atleast when Dicer found the two of them on the cot kissing he kept his mouth shut and he supposed Akki didn't say anything when the kissed each other on the cheek, although at that point they hadn't admitted their true feelings for each other yet. He took a sip of klah and then leaned back in the chair, taking in that crisp morning air he loved so much. Mornings like this he loved. The dew on the blades of grass, the crisp morning air, the day as it arose. Often he would sit out in the weyrbowl in the early mornings. He wished he was back home sometimes, the sounds of the sea in the early morning, the waves crashing against the rocks, then he looked over to Nike and knew he wouldn't want to be anywhere else but here. Perhaps one day they could go together to where he lived, the poor hold by the sea. The two of them could go to the sea early in the morning and watch the day break and listen to the sounds of the ocean. He gave a happy sigh to that thought. His eyes turned to Nike, he looked at her then after awhile looked up as he once again leaned back in the chair, with his hands now placed behind his head.

The two returned and nodded. "Now show us where our long lost granddaughter is!" Fallanora said with a smile, then her eyes darted to the white dragon on the rim.
Nike looked up at K'dan and grinned. "Hello K'dan. And no I am not. I have Zim and Crystal here, and plus I have to do my rounds. It seems that one of the cooks burnt his hand while he was putting the wherry in to roast for tonight," She said. Green eyes narrowed at the sight of Miya. "Well, atleast I have someone. Unlike you," Nike said. Her eyes turned to K'dan. Why did he have such a dreamy look on his face. That face remined her of Southern Boll. "Oh, K'dan! Now that we are learning to go /between/ I asked Sh'iron and Chrisate if we can go to Southern Boll's Spring Gather. They said yes, so we can go. I did promise you that I would take you, now didn't I?"

K'dan gave a smile to Nike's words and looked to see Miya's facial expression. "Oh yes you did. I remember", he said as he sprang forward in his chair. "I was thinking though, perhaps later on, we should visit the hold I grew up in. It is a wonderful place with a beautiful view of the sea", he gave that dreamy look again but spoke to Nike, "Just imagine, early morning before day breaks. Sitting on the sands by the sea, listening to the waves crash on the rocks and the day as it rises". He gave a sigh then looked back at Nike shaking off his dreamy state.
`````````````
"Yes we really want to meet her", Carlona added.
Nike smiled then turned to K'dan, her smiled fading, and a look of awe on her fiace. Like a Harper telling the little children of the tales of the Dragonriders. Her eyes got big and she nodded. "That would be great. I miss the sea. I grew up right by it, and it took me awhile to get used to the waves not crashing on the shore," An exciting shudder ran down her spine. "Is it windy there? Boll was very windy, and hot. So when we do go, wear something thin, and light," Nike said, leaning into the table, and licked her lips.
"Yes it can be somedays", he said to her then continued, "I will be sure to wear something light". An amused look crossed his face as he watched her lick her lips. "I miss the sea. Somedays I wish I was back there but then I look around and realize I wouldn't want to be anywhere else", he paused and looked at her then continued, "Especially that you are here".
Miya huffed. "Only the strongest, the one who can actually catch my Reinath, shall be worthy of me." Miya snapped.
"Oh, and I remember how you two treated me the other day at cleaning. Though I did nothing in the attention of the Weyrwoman, that doesn't mean I hold no grudge." She glared angrily. She raised her foot to the back on Nike's chair and shoves, hoping the chair would topple over.
((I will take them there in but a moment, I just want this to proceed a bit, if that is all right with you. If not, let me know.))
((That's fine.))
"Well then, you didn't really listen. I did say that I was sorry," Nike said, hoping that the queen rider would go away. Feeling the foot on the back of her chair, Nike was too late to get out of it. The chair fell to the side, and Nike in it. The Healer hit the stone floor with a heavy thud, and a crack of her head.
Blackness filled her vision, and her hearing wasn't that good. Her head started throbing from her fall, and theback of her head hitting the floor. Blinking, her vision soon came to her, but it was black and fuzzy around the edges. A groand came from her as her hand went up to her eyes. This wasn't good. Ruanth felt her rider's pain and flew down, close to the Caverens. I'll be fine, Ruanth. Nike said trying to sit up. Zim and Crystal were going nuts, cherping and screaming.
K'dan stood up and a look of rage shot on his face, "How pathetic! Just because someone says something you don't like you retaliate like this!". He practicaly shouted at her. He passed by her and helped Nike up. "Are you ok?", he asked her. He then glared at Miya.
