(( Not sure if it goes here but I am planning on having her go to her weyr once she gets someone to show her where she should go. ))
A dot appeared in the skies of Dark Moon Weyr and slowly grew larger until one could tell that it was a green dragon. It was not an overly large dragon for its color nor was it small. As it came even closer one could see the shade of green was a light murky green, much like the seaq foam at the bottom of a long cliff crashing against the rocks found there. Soon the gr4een dragon would land and deposit the rider instead of a Candidate as many were wont to do. A half smile crossed the face of the rider as her dragon informed her that she would be looking for other drgons that were sun bathing. Avith probably knew that to be the best time for gossip, which was her specialty.
Lira sighted as she had not expected any different from her nosy dragon. She had just wished the dragon had sensed her need for moral support a little better. Her hand dropped down just a second before remembering that Silken wasn't there but instead being transported by wagon. A slight shrug of her rounded shoulders before Lira moved towards what she hoped was the kitchens. She had been packing up her old weyr so that it would be an easier move here. It was about midday and she hadn't eaten anything. A look was given around the weyrbowl before moving at a swifter pace. She wanted to meet people but would like to eat something before having a tour from some helpful soul.
The kitchen wasn't hard to find, the two weyrs she had seen seemed to be build relatively the same way. Although she wouldn't be willing to bet that and try to go wandering through the maze-like lower caverns. She walked around and found a helpful drudge who showed her a pot of stew that was simmereing and laughingly told her it was ok if she took her fill. The drudge chattered for a few moments before going back to her job and through those few moments of idle chatter Lira was able to find out the weyrleader's names.
Her thoughts wondered breifly back to her items that were being delievered via wagon. Most of the things she could have brought a-dragonback but she didn't want to risk the safety of her pet to just make the move easier. She shrugged it also made it easier as she didn't have her first vist to the weyr burdened down with everything. A smirk crossed her face thinking of how Avith would have complained if she knew that she would have to wait until someone someone showed them where they would be sleeping before she could talk and gossip.
Lira finished her bowl and accepted the cup of klah from the drudge before leaving the kitchen and wandering the green expanse of grass of the weyrbowl. She figured she didn't need to go looking for anyone, from what Avith said this was a small weyr and in small groups news travels fast. In areas like this she trusted her dragon to know what she was talking about. So Lira sipped her klah and walked around the area looking at different sites waiting for someone to happen by.

G'han walked through the weyrbowl to go get something to eat, nothing big but just a snack.
With you even a snack is like a meal. Without your training you would be big and fat. The bronze said, picking at his rider.
~All the training I do causes me to eat as much as I do, ever think of that. Even with cutting my training down i still have my other duties that keep me fit~, he replied to the dragon. He had his father's walking stick with him, using it for that very purpose. It wasn't that he needed it but he wanted to use it today, it reminded him so much of his father and now that he was a father himself he needed guidance to help raise his twins. He would often look at the stick and remember his parents and how they raised him and his younger brother.
G'han infront of you! Watch out! The bronze shouted in his rider's head.
G'han didn't notice the girl that was infront of him until just in time to stop right infront of her, inches from her face. He slid back so as not to bump her and send klah spilling all over her. "Sorry about that. I guess I was a bit distracted", he said to her apologitecly and glad he didn't spill the girl's drink.

She looked up and smiled, " No problem. " She looked him over, almost absently, " Distracted? " Her dragon, enjoying her sun bathing immensely, perked up and listened to the conversation. She wished to know what type of things happened in this weyr and here was her first chance. Lira almost rolled her eyes at her dragon before remembering the guy infront of her and he might take it the wrong way. Her smiled widened again, "So I'm new here, have any idea where they might put my weyr so that I know where to direct the people with my stuff?" Not that she had SOO many items, anyway, she was just trying to make polite conversation.

"Yeah. My weyrmate had twins and I am a father now. I don't really have much experience in that field and with my father gone I don't have his guidance anymore. This walking stick you see is his, I just took it with me today to walk so maybe I could remember him a bit better and think of what he would tell me, what example he would have had. Oh yeah I am wingleader G'han of bronze Gerenanth. My weyrmate is wingsecond Rhia of brown Mneith", he said to her. "As for where they would put you. I would ask one of the weyrleaders because I wouldn't really have a clue", he said to her. "So you have the advantage of me, knowing my name. So I must ask you, what is yours?", he asked.

"I am Lira Sillen," She looked around the weyrbowl. "Any idea where the weyrleaders would be? I am expecting my things to arrive soon and would hate to have her sit in the sun for hours and get sick because I couldn't find my room." As was her won't to do sometimes she talked to people as if they knew all about the situations; as if he knew about her and knew exactly who "her" was. She smiled and turned to him again, "And congratulations on the twins and I am sure you will be a great father to them. Afterall dragons only pick good people." Her gaze wondered around still taking in the sights of the new weyr.

"There is no telling with them, but I am sure if you wait around in one spot they will eventually pass you by. They seem to be all over the weyr doing this and that", he said to her. He smiled at her comment and said, "Thank you. I am sure you're right. All I can do is try my best to raise them".

Beloved, the new transfer rider is here. Gerenanth's rider is speaking to her.
Christae looked up and pushed a lock of long brown hair out of her face. She sighed. ~Thank you love.~ Kaith gave a draconic nodd and then returned to sunning herself on her ledge. Her hide was bright gold. Christae knew that the color meant she was close to mating and it would turn a deep burnished gold, almost bronze when the golden Queen rose to mate.
Christae rose and straightened out her tunic. Chiron started fussing so she picked her son up and set him on her hip. She walked down the flight of stairs, grateful that there were stairs to her weyr. Some of the higher weyrs had no stairs and the riders had to rely on their dragons to ferry them up and down. Kaith would have gotten annoyed with her becuase she was in and out of her weyr all day.
I would not get annoyed with you. You are an important person. Christae laughed. ~You'd see. You would easily get annoyed with me. [/color] Kaith snorted her disbelief and then returned to her nap. Christae reached the bottom, gently bouncing Chiron to soothe him.
"G'han." She nodded to the bronzerider. "I take it Rhia and the twins are well? Gerenanth was flying well yesterday." Then she turned to greet the rider wearing the knots of a greenrider. "Welcome to Dark Moon Weyr. I am Christae of Sr. Queen Kaith."

"Yes they are doing good and thankyou. I am sure Gerenanth appreciates the comment", he said to Christae. He could sense his dragon's pride at the Weyrwoman's comments. He then turned to the green rider he was talking to. "Well what did I tell you. You stay in one place long enough and one of them will pass you by. I will be off now to get something to eat. If you need me I will be down in the lowercaverns", he said to the greenrider.
Yes I am sure my rider will be down there for awhile gorging on the food. The bronze said for all to hear.
G'han said nothing more and didn't respond to the bronze's comment. He headed down to the lowercaverns, using the walking stick like his father once used it.

Lira chuckled then nodded to G'han as he left and looked the weyrwoman over carefully. It seemed that she was a little young to already be the senior queen rider but then this weyr was supposed to small and new. She shrugged, " Hello Christae, I am Lira of green Avith. I had been talking to G'han wondering where my rooms were going to be so I can get settled." She still wore the smile on her face then focused on the baby, "Yours?...oh he's a cute one.." She would coo at him a little before looking at the weyrwoman waiting for the answer.

Christae's mouth twitched but other than that, the 18 Turn old Weywoman did not make any sign of having heard the bronze's comment. "It is a pleasure to meet you Lira. I am glad that you will be making your home with us."
The fireheights are warmest on the Southern side during the morning. Kaith confided to Avith.
"Since we are a rather small weyr, we have quite a few empty weyrs. The first attempts to populate this weyr were rather unsuccessful but now we are flourishing. We will be attending the first Weyr Games competition in a few sevendays so I hope that you are able to jump right in on drills." Christae gestured to a few of the weyrs. "Those are uninhabited. You can take your pick. All I ask is that you leave the larger ones free. Greens do not need as much space as bronzes and browns and Kaith will be flying soon. I don't want to have grumbling bronzes in my weyr." Christae's eyes and voice were amused.
When the greenrider asked about the baby she was holding on her hip Christae beamed proudly. "Yes, he is mine. His name is Chiron. I am trying to be in his life as much as possible though I know that when Thread starts falling I will have to leave him with some of the Lower Caverns women. He is a good baby." She shifted the infant so that the greenrider could see him better.

The green rumbled in pleasure at the bit of information and moved frm her spot to find the fireheights and pester the dragons who might be there. ~Thank you for the information Kaith~
Lira nodded, "Thank you. I am sure that I can find a weyr that is plenty big enough for Avith and I but one that would seem small to a bigger dragon." She shrugged at the mention of weyr games not looking too sure.
Lira's face turned grave at the mention of Thread and nodded solemnly. "Yes, I suppose alot will change when thread comes. I suppose I should let you get to your work again. I am expect the wagon to arrive shortly." She turned back after having been ready to go towards the weyrs, "Um, you don't have anything against felines do you? I know that some weyrleaders don't like them because they think them vicious or annoying as flitts."

((dragon voices go in the color of the dragon...yours would be green or limegreen....if you use the fast reply it is *text here* ))
Yiou are most welcome. The Queen was on the fireheights as well. Christae smiled. "I thank you for your consideration."
"Our weyr games are the same as any other weyr's Thread drills. We are just competeing against other weyrs. It is to help our Weyrs prepare for Thread. I am not really supposed to be doing work today but I need to. I do not have anything against felines as long as they behave. If your feline is well trained then we won't have any trouble."
A large bronze flitt appeared from between and landed on the Weyrwoman's shoulder. "I have a flitt myself. This is Birinj." She scratched the fire lizard's eye ridges.

Anything interesting going on at this weyr? Avith asked conversationally.
Lira nodded, " Well I don't think Silken should be any problem then. Speaking of Silken...I think the wagon is due now." She would look to where, down the road through Avith's eyes, she spotted a wagon.
(( Sorry so short but I am getting writer's cramp/block or something -sighs- ))

We are training to fight our ancient enemy. Our riders work hard. The Weyrleaders of Pern held a meeting here a few sevendays ago and my rider gave birth to her son.
"I have no trouble with felines." She looked through Kaith's eyes when Lira mentioned the wagon. "Good, we have tithes on some of those wagons."

The green rumbled *We will defeat it like we always have* The green sounded smug and assured. She then dipped her head a little *Congradulations are then in order. My rider is yet to have one...I am not totally sure if she does want one yet* The green then stretched to a longer length and settled down more.
Lira nodded "that is good." She was obviously distracted with the arrival of the wagons. While she loved Avith more than anything she still treasured Silken as it had been her companion for a long time. She started walking towards the wagon trail in hopes of seeing how the big cat was doing.

((dragon words go in the color of their hide green would be [/ color] Take out the spaces...I had to insert them so that the text would show instead of the color))
We extend our thanks for your congratulations. Human hatchlings can be nuisances. They make more noise than a hatchling dragonet.
"I heard that Kaith. Human babies are not like dragons. We don't mature as fast as you do." Birinj chirped from his position on her shoulder. Christae smiled. The bronze flitt was a curious creature, that much was certain.
Christae strode forward to meet the messengers from the tithe train. "All your belongings came with them Lira? If you need help let me know and I will press some Weyrlings or Candidates into service. The Candidates have enough time on their hands."
