Rhia looked worriedly at Kia when the girl fell. "Kylath you're gonna have to be more careful. We can't afford to injure anymore riders if we plan on doing well in the Weyr Games for upcoming Thread. Are you ok Kia? I have some numbweed in a jar on my desk if you need some."

[Dragon]

K'dan shook his head and laughed a bit. ~She is in pain and she is worried about someone who tripped and fell~, K'dan spoke to his dragon.

[Akki]

Akki looked at K'dan and said, "Laughing for no apparent reason is not healthy my friend. Actually, it's rather scary. Just thought you should know.". She wished Nike and G'han would show, how much longer could they wait? She scratched her arm nervously, surveying Rhia before urging Ebbeth to hurry, only to recieve a comment saying he's looking as fast as he could. Sorry Ebbeth, I'm nervous She replied truthfully.

[Dragon]

K'dan looked over at Akki. "Oh sorry about that. I was talking to Hydrath about something", he said.

[Miki]

Kia let her tongue lay flat on the bottom of her mouth but tried to speak. "I aa ine, ank ou. Ia, ee ou orry aaout ou," she spluttered out. Kylath looked up at her perplexedly. ~I can't really speak- my tongue hurts.~ [shadow=red,left,300]If they didn't understand I'll tell them.[/shadow]~Thank you~ Kylath nodded and walked up to her bonded, keeping check of her tail at the same time. She looked down, seeming to be a little ashamed. "On't oore, Ylach, I alays ee o in a ay o ur ichel."

[Akki]

"Sure you are K'dan, what about? Making excuses about your sudden interest of laughing for no reason?" She asked as she winked happily before turning her attention to Kia. She waggled her finger in the air and scolded "My friend, you are not very careful now are you?".

[nike]

Nike was checking up on a dragon on the last level in the Weyr.
Ruanth was waiting at in the bowl for her to come down. The white was too small to climb all the stairs.

The dragon had woken her and she quickly came to reapply the dressing for his wounds. She was almost done when she heard the bugle.
"Shards! I'm sorry Hapth, but something important has come up."
The Healer said throwing everything in her kit, picked it up and ran as fast as she could down the stairs.

When she reached the bottom, she tripped and fell.
Rhia is going to have child. The firelizards are humming and the wild ones are coming around the Weyr. Ruanth said nudging Nike to get up. The white had learned a lot from Nike tending to the riders and dragons.

So it was over nine months since she had been bonded to Ruanth, and the dragon had grown three feet. Only six feet long. All the other dragons were huge! But no, Ruanth was still small.
Nike jumped up, she had scraped her bare legs, and they were bleeding slightly. "Come on!" Nike said running towards the Lower Caverens.

She entered them and ran to the infirmary. There she shed her clothing and put on her surgery clothes. They looked like scrubs. Then she pulled back her long hair and started to scrub her hands and arms. The other Healers came in and did the same.

"Alright, grab the stuff we need and go to Brownrider Rhia's Weyr. We're doing a cesarean section for twins." Nike said grabing her surgery bag, then headed out the door.

Zim and Crystal were humming as she ran across the Bowl and up Rhia's stairs. More than likely, everyone would be there already. If it was up to Nike, she would move Rhia down to the infirmary, but she knew Mneith would not let her.

When Nike entered the room, she got angry.
"Alright, I want all dragons out of this weyr now! Mneith you can stay. This is your rider. Everyone else but Christae I want out of Rhia's sleeping quarters. This woman is going into labor. When she's done, then you can come back in." The Healer yelled to all. She entered the sleeping chamber and walked straight to Rhia. "Tell me everything. You're not too far along.
I ned to know when I should start."
The other Healers were setting up a small table where they were getting the tools out and placing them.

This was going to be a long night.

[Spirithawk]

Rhia looked up gratefully. "Thank Faranth you finally came. I thought that they would be on their way out by the time Mneith's summons reached you. He was waiting for you down by the Weyrling Barracks not knowing that you weren't there. Kaith made Christae stay in her weyr. Christae wants Kaith to give her news."

"I'm guessing the contractions started during the middle of the night because I couldn't sleep. Mneith kept having to put the sleeping furs back on me because I would kick them off. I woke up about a half an hour ago with a particularly bad contraction and that's why Mneith decided to wake up the entire Weyr."

"Nira took charge and made everyone get towels and boiling water. The water is on the hearth. Miya even helped out. G'han is out on an errand and isn't back yet. Someone was supposed to tell Kaith to call him home but I don't know if anyone did." Rhia was gabbing to take her mind off of the pain. Mneith saw Nike head up to Rhia's weyr and hurriedly launched himself, landing on his ledge not long after Nike and the other healers entered.

[Dragon]

When K'dan was rushed out he was begining to worry about G'han. ~Hydrath get Kaith to try to reach them. ~ Hydrath relayed the message to Kaith and hoped the bronzerider would be on his way.

[nike]

Nike nodded. "Alright, I'll call them." She said, then quickly told the bronze what was happening.
Then she went to work.

Nike checked Rhia's pulse, temperature, and the babies heart beat. After that was done, she turned to the woman.
"Alright, I want you to sit up and lean on your pillows. Keep you legs spread."
The Healer put small roleld up towles under Rhia's ankle, then went to check her cervical dilation.
Nike smiled.
"I dilvered twins once before, and you are a lot better than the woman who did that. I don't think we have to do a cesarean section. When G'han gets here, I'll have you walk around for a bit. You're in the 3 - 5 hours stage. You still have a little while to go. If you have any questions just ask me."

The Healer grinned. She really didn't want to do the cesarean section, a normal labor would be great.

[Spirithawk]

Rhia clenched her teeth as another contraction hit her before replying to Nike. "Sounds good. You're the Healer." The young brownrider was suprisingly cheerful. She did as she was told and was relieved that someone had finally gotten in touch with her weyrmate. "I am kinda glad that G'han isn't here at the moment. He will probably be difficult."

[Tenma]

Miya and Reinath walked out of the room, grumbling at Nike's orders. Not only were they being ordered by a greenrider but know whiterider? The lowest ranking rider on Pern. Miya spat mentally.

Reinath simply walked silently along.

Jakel simply left, still quite confused. "My first night here and there is alread panick." The boy laughed. He had his black bag once again in his right hand since he never had been shown to his barrack yet, so he had to carry his belongings.

Nira nodded her head in dissaproval. "I appolagize, Nike, but I would feel better if I stayed with Rhia. At least untill G'han came. You understand down't you?" the greenrider asked hopefully. ~Siarath you can stop searching Nike is here, but you can't come up to the weyr.~ She told her bonded.

I am glad she has finally come. Siarath said simply and yawned. I shall take a nap while I wait for you. Wake me up if you need me. The green said before closing her many-faceted eyes.

[Spirithawk]

Rhia shot Nira a greatful look. Nike was in her Healer mode and Rhia felt lonely. "If it isn't too much trouble, I would like Nira to stay as well. It's a big weyr so I don't think she will be in the way. She helped keep order in here until you arrived."

[Akki]

She sighed heavily as Nike appeared in the room before she told Ebbeth that she was here, and thanked him profusely which he responded with a content joy. "Goodbye Rhia, I'll see you afterwards. If I see G'han I'll skin him for you, just to show how much I care" She said with a wink to her friend before leaving the room with the others. She looked at Miya and Reinath before snorting, barely able to control her laughter, from what? She had no idea. She looked at Jakel, feinging surprise and said, "You didn't expect us to boring now did you?".

[Tenma]

"Well I wouldn't say that my hold is the funnest. I think I will like it here. Trouble equals fun." Jakel laughed once again at his own lame joke.

[Miki]

ooc|| Kaith wants Kylath to relay what's happening since she can't fit.

Bic|| Kia rubbed some of the blood from her tongue and heartily swallowed. Would the sun be rising soon? Just how early was it? She turned her head only slightly and saw Nike out of the corner of her eye. She and the other healers stood behind her until Nike ran up to Rhia and the others began to set up. She turned around but then glanced back at Rhia was hopeful, happy eyes and a smile. "I, Ia, ech o uch," she spluttered.

Kylath, on the other hand, refused to budge. For once she felt a sense of duty. As Kia dripped to motion for her to come Kylath simply stuck her nose up and sat. She swayed her tail slowly from side to side. [shadow=red,left,300]I am to help.[/shadow]

"I am sorry Kylath but I beleive you must leave. I would be amazed if Nike even let me say." Nira spoke the truth. Her eyes darted over to the whiterider, whatching the girl work and concentrate. She looked back at the copper, her eyes soft and appolagetic.

Remember, Nike is a healer as well as a dragonrider. She is simply doing her job. Siarath reminded her Mine.

~I know my green.~ Nira replied.

Nike pursed her lips.
"Well if Rhia aggrees. Then yes. until G'han get's here. You may stay.
But make sure if we" she said nodding to the other Healers "start to work, get out of our way. Alright?"
The whiterider made sure that her firelizards were down with Ruanth.
But they could come in handy.
Ruanth, when the firelizards' hum increases tell me. Alright?
