G'han smiled as he looked at his weyrmate holding their newborn baby. He was a father now of a healthy son, but it still wasn't over. Rhia was delivering yet another baby. He felt a little relieved when the healer said she was doing wonderfully, he had feared this whole time he might lose her while she was giving birth. But now that fear seemed to dwendle down and dwell only in the back of his mind. "May I hold him after you dear", he asked his Rhia.

So this must have been what you looked like as a baby. Were you this tiny? ~To tell you the truth Gerenanth I don't know how small or big I was as a baby~, G'han said to his dragon.

Rhia looked up and smiled when Kia came in."Thank you Kia. All babies look different. Some of them are bigger but most are small. I was tiny when I was a baby, or so my brothers told me. My father didn't want to have anything to do with me because he blamed my birth for my mother's death. That's why I was so afraid of giving birth."

She looked at her weyrmate. She had a tired, but proud look on her face. "Shall we name him Rehan?" (ruh-han...prounced that way dragonic! lol)

[Tenma]

"Congratulations." Nira smiled happily when the healer announced that the first baby was a boy. The baby was so small, but the healer said he was healthy and that was enough for her. Besides, Nira wasn't a healer, and knew nothing about childbirth. Nira then took a step back to allow room. ANother baby was yet to come.

Yay! Siarath said to Rhia for she knew not what to say when a human gave birth.

Jakel laughed as Kia walked in to the room, even though they were trying to stay out, and walked back out. Jakel then walked up to the door but didn't go in, since the door was open enough. "Congrats." He said, not looking. Even though his eyes were shut his cheeks and ears flushed with embarressment. He wasn't sure if RHia was decent.

[Dragon]

"That sounds good to me", he said to her as he looked at her and smiled. "May I add he could not have a finer mother than you and he will grow up to be a fine boy", G'han said to Rhia. G'han looked over to the doorway with a confused look. He didn't recognize the voice coming from the doorway and didn't see anyone there.

"Thank you." Rhia called. She looked at the baby in her arms, now cooing in a quiet voice instead of screaming."Rehan." She said softly. "He's got red hair." She said flatly. "He's probably gonna take after his uncle." She shook her head ruefully. "Then again, it might do like mine did. My hair was strawberry blonde when I was born but then it got darker until it was auburn." She looked up at G'han. "If you want to hold him you will have to come get him. I'm certainly not bringing him to you." She lay back, shadows under her eyes and a slightly gaunt look on her face was the only thing that marred the serenity of the new mother look on her face.

[Dragon]

G'han chuckled softly for a bit then said, "I realize that but I wanted you to hold him as long as you wanted to". He took his son and held him in his arms. He smiled at the little one, the look of a proud father showed on his face. He rocked him ever so slightly in his arms while he hummed a song that he remembered his mom would sing to him when he was young.

Gerenanth laughed at the way his rider was acting but not to poke fun at him. He seems so peaceful like that.

Rhia watched her weyrmate with a soft smile on her face. She was tired, so desperately tired, but she wanted to watch her son. She wanted him near her. "Can I keep him with me?" She asked the healers. One approached with a cup of fruit juice. "That's laced with fellis isn't it?"

The Healer nodded. "Just a small amount. You need to rest, but we don't want you to be in such a deep sleep that you are unresponsive when your other baby decided to be born. We need to check out Rehan and make sure he is healthy, but then we will have G'han hold him near you. When you wake up, if you are in any state to hold him, you can hold him. Right now though, you need to sleep."

"Let me kiss him goodnight then." She said and the Healer nodded an ok. After she kissed her son and her weyrmate she accepted the lightly laced cup and drank, relaxing and falling asleep quickly.

[Dragon]

G'han smiled and kissed his weyrmate back. "You said you needed to check Rehan's health?", G'han asked as he approached one of the healers with his son in his arms. He loved saying his son's name. He had a son now. He was happy. The only other times he could remember being this happy was when he impressed Gerenanth and when Rhia and himself became weyrmates. He smile down at the little baby boy.

The Healer took the baby and brought him over to check him. When they were certain that the baby was healthy they returned him to his father. Rhia slept for about an hour before the labor pains woke her again, coming hard and fast.

[Tenma]

A silent hour passed, nothing happening. Nira would have fallen asleep but she was so worried. It had helped when the healers said the first baby was fine but the labor was far from over. She snapped back to reality as Rhia started feeling the pains once again.

[Dragon]

G'han smiled as the baby was returned to him. He continued humming the song he had earlier and walked around the room a bit. He stopped infront of Nira and asked, "Do you want to hold him for a little bit". He wanted to give his friend a chance to hold his newborn and get a good look at him. He figured there would be no harm in doing so.

[Tenma]

Nira walked over to G'han. She looked down upon the little baby's face. "No thankyou. Your baby is wonderful, though." The greenrider smiled walking back to the wall, and out of the way.

[Dragon]

"Ok. Just wanted to give you a chance to see him", G'han said. He took no offense and figured she just wanted to stay out of the way. He continued to rock the babe and hum the song. He went back over to Rhia so she could be near the baby.

Rhia woke up, gradually becoming aware of the discomfort that she had felt when her labor had begun for Rehan. Her eyes few open and she searched the room until she saw G'han with the baby standing next to her. She held out her arms in a mute appeal to hold her child.

"Please?" She looked at the Healers questioningly. "Very well. Go ahead."

[Dragon]

"Oh of course", G'han said as he handed Rehan over to Rhia.

She took the baby from him and peered into his sleeping face. It was hard for her to believe that this child was hers, after nine months of misery, this tiny creature was the result. She smiled. She held him close for a few minutes and then handed him back to G'han, her pale face becoming more ashen in color as the contractions continued. She was so tired, even after sleeping.

[Dragon]

G'han took the baby back in his arms, still staying next to Rhia. He wanted to stay at her side and be right there for her if she needed him. He smiled as he looked at Rehan, wondering how he would turn out when he got older. He had no doubt that with Rhia and himself caring for him and the people he would be around he would grow up to be a fine young man.

[Spirithawk]

Rhia was too tired to even cry out as the contractions strengthened. She wished that the baby would be born soon so she could sleep. "You are doing fine Rhia." The Healers crooned when she twisted in pain. The head Healer brought her a cup that smelled of herbs. "Drink this brownrider, it will help you to keep your strength." The Healer was worried that the brownrider's strength, taxed as it was from the birth of her son, would not hold out for the birth of the second child.

"Come on Rhia." Another weary hour passed, the sky outside was beginning to pale from Rukbat's rays. "Push Rhia! Come on girl, Push!" Rhia gathered her strength and pushed. "Relax." She closed her eyes and tried to relax her taut body but the contraction came too soon, right on the heels of the first. "Push!." She was given the same orders over and over again and finally they heard a piercing cry. "It's a girl!"

The Healers cleaned the baby off and brought the girl to the side of Rhia's bed. "You have a healthy baby girl. The twins are small, but that is normal. They will remain small for a while but then they will catch up to other babies of their age. Congratulations Wingsecond Rhia and Wingleader G'han. You have two beautiful babies. What will you name her? We have to log their names and times of birth into the Weyr logs."

Rhia reached out for her daughter, feeling sleep darkening the edges of her vision. "You can hold her for a little while, but then it is a posset and sleep for you brownrider."

Rhia smiled tiredly. "Giana. Her name will be Giana." She took her baby and studied the tiny face.

Soon after the Healer returned with a cup and took the little girl. Rhia reluctantly gave her up. "G'han you can hold her after we check her. We have a crib set up for Rehan. It's a double crib so the babies will be near each other." The Healer handed the cup to Rhia. "Drink." Rhia did as she was told, too tired to resist. She knew that the stuff was laced but she drank anyway. The cup fell from her hand as she sank into a deep, fellis-induced sleep.

They named the boy Rehan. She had a healthy son the Healers said. They made her sleep for a while and then a baby girl was born. They named her Giana. Mneith is about ready to burst with pride at his rider. He will be a bit arrogant for a while. G'han is excited. The Healers looked worried for a while but she did ok. They gave her something to drink and she fell asleep.

Kaith relayed the news that Mneith sent her. The brown sounded tired but pleased. He would be able to fly with his rider on his back again soon.

She needs to heal first Mneith. You need to sleep as well.

I know Kaith. I will sleep as soon as the Healers leave.

[Tenma]

Nira grew extremely worried as Rhia's strength began to dissapear. She feared the worst as the brownrider used her strength to push against the second baby. At one point she thought all was lost.

Do not worry mine. All will be good. Rehan and the other baby with be healthy. Rhia will live and ride Mneith again. ALl will be ok. Siarath did her best to consol her mine but fear crept into the green's thoughts as well.

Nira nodded but sensed the fear. She watched helplessly as Rhia struggled. Finally, the second baby was born. She waited impatiently as they checked the little girl over. Luckily, she was healthy too and Rhia was sent into a fellis-induced sleep. All was well, Siarath was right. ~Thankyou.~ Nira sighed. That night was one of the most fearful and suspenseful nights she ever had. A yawn excaped the greenrider's lips.

Come out mine. YOu need to go to bed before you crash down like Rhia. Siarath explained.

Nira looked over to the sleeping brownrider, whom had dropped her cup in exhaustiom. ~You are right Siarath.~ Nira replied. She cast her energy to stand herself up for she had sat down as the night progressed. She walked out of the room to see Kia, Nike, and a strange. "There was a healthy boy and a healthy girl." She relayed tiredly. "I appolagize for not giving a proper introduction. In the morning." She said to Jakel as anopther yawn made it's way out of the greenrider. She nodded to the three and walked outside where the large green waited for her. She stubled onto her back.

Siarath took off gently, so as not to have an accident with her tired rider who hadn't even put on her helmet or riding straps. She then carried her mine up to her perch by Nira's room. So you don't have to climb the stairs. Siarath explained once sensing Nira's questioning thoughts.

Nira nodded and climbed through the window and into her weyr. She walked over to her bed and fell asleep, too tired to change or take off her boots.

Jakel's brown eyes watched as a young woman walked out of Rhia's weyr.

"There was a healthy boy and a healthy girl. I appolagize for not giving a proper introduction. In the morning." The woman explained.

Jakel mearly nodded. "No problem dragonrider." He replied as the tired rider left. He walked next to the opened door. "Congradulatoin." He said quietly for her figured everyone was tired and the mother was asleep.

And believe it or not I don't want to be in the way right now She told her blue as Sargon flew out of the room and landed on her shoulder, cherping quickly. [glow=blue,2,300]I do not believe it[/glow] Ebbeth snickered as Akki rolled her eyes. It was amazing to see everything happen so fast for the time she had been there. One of her friends Impressed a lovely white, another a copper, there was T'ran, and R'dan, now Rhia had twins and G'han was a father. This truly is home she said to Ebbeth.
