Rhia tossed and turned in her bed. G'han was out running errands. Christae had made him stay at Southern Weyr overnight because she did not want him trying to go /between/ without resting. By now, it should have been dawn on that portion of the Southern Continent. Rhia couldn't get comfortable. She was in a cold sweat. She moaned softly and Mneith was instantly awake. He had not been able to sleep either. Something was wrong with his rider but he couldn't place it.

He rose and moved closer to where his rider lay, tossing in her furs. She had kicked most of them off. Mneith had had to recover her several times during the night so that she didn't get chilled. He nosed a fur onto her, his jewel-faceted eyes whirling with worry.

Mine?

She groaned and tossed in her sleep, not waking. Mneith placed his wedge-shaped head on the bed next to his rider, hoping that her weyrmate would return soon. The bronzerider was human. He would know more about a human than a dragon. Mneith was wondering what he could do when he remembered the Healer. She would know what to do. She had told him to tell her if anything was wrong.

Stay here mine, I am going get the Healer.

Mneith moved as quietly as his large brown body would allow him and backed out of his weyr. When he was on the ledge he turned and launched himself. He found the smell of the Healer in the Weyrlng Barracks. Mneith vaguely remembered this place. One thing he did remember was that he was too big to enter.

Healer. Inside her weyr, Rhia woke with a gasp, feeling wetness spread under her. She frowned. She never wet the bed. Pain wracked her body and she screamed. Mneith caught her pain and let out a fierce bellow. His eyes whirled red.

Rhiamine! She hurts! Mneith's angry roar was loud enough to wake the entire Weyr.

[Tenma]

Miya woke with a start as the bellow echoed through the weyr. ~Reinath, what was that?~ Miya demanded from the gold.
That was Mneith. Some is very wrong, I do not know of him to bugle like that for no reason, especially in the middle of the night. The queen's eyes were whirling with worry.
~Calm down Reinath, we shall go see what is up.~ Miya mumbled slowly getting out of bed, as if she were made of rock. A large yawn erupted from herself and the gold but Miya began to dress, though it was slowly.
The two left their weyr and began making there way to Rhia's barracks. Reinath was going especially slow.

Nira woke the split moment Mneith's roar was let out. ~Siarath, what is wrong with Mneith?~ The greenrider asked, recognizing the brown dragon.
I am not sure mine, I think that it has to do with the brownrider.
~Rhia?~ Nira asked in worry. ~Oh no~ She panicked.
Nira rushed out of her weyr to meet Siarath outside. She mounted the large green, who flew over to Rhia's room.
Nira dismounted and ran inside. ~I shall let ou know everything that happens.~ Nira said, giving Siarath mental pictures of what she saw. "
"Rhia, what is wrong?" She asked with worry filling her voice.

A boy looked around, a brown bag in his hands. He has slightly long hair that goes down past his ears. It is a light brown color, the exact middle shade between blonde and black. HIs eyes are the same strange brown color as his hair. The brown's roar startled the boy whol looked frantically around. "Wow." He said with a smile, though he was still confused. He noticed that the brown was heading for a certain weyr and so were a few other riders. He decided to follow them, to find out what was going on.
The boy had just arrived at the weyr, after being searched. It was late, because he was hoping his father would come, but his hopes were destroyed when the searchrider (npc) said they had to go.
He ran into the room along with one or two more riders, one (Nira) who seemed to be especially worried. He looked at the bed and realized a woman had been sleeping and was in a lot of pain.
He blushed, since he had barged into a woman's sleeping quarters, and that of a rider's.

((I hope you don't mind that Jakel is being introduced on this board.))

[Akki]

Akki turned and then fell neatly onto the floor, startled. Her head seemed fuzzy, her eye sight blurred and she had no idea what was happening but she could hear something in her head...[glow=blue,2,300]Akkimine! Awake! You are a stonehead! Can you not hear? Mneith calls and you sleep![/glow] Akki cursed aloud and dashed out the room, leaving a bewildered flitt behind her. Ebbeth, see if you can reach Nike, tell her what's happening even though I am sure she will already know. Akki said quickly as she dashed towards Rhia's room, ignoring the fact she looked slightly crazed with her hair flying behind her. [glow=blue,2,300]Keep me informed Akkimine, please[/glow] Ebbeth said before Akki agreed.

Mneith was in front of the Weyrling Barracks, bellowing for Nike to come. He ignored the Weyrling Queenrider as she exited the Barracks. She was not the one he wanted. He wanted the redheaded Healer.

Healer! You are needed! Rhiamine needs you!

Back in her weyr Rhia was huddled in a ball on her bed. She whimpered as another spasm of pain wracked her body. She heard people enter but couldn't speak. Finally the spasm passed and she was able to look up. She saw Nira, Miya (

Admin's Note:[/hr]), and a strange boy.

"I..I think there is something wrong with the babies." She gasped. Her lips were a thin line in her white face. Mneith launched himself straight up into the air with a powerful thrust. He poked his head into the weyr.

Mine?

"Mneith..." She bit her lip as another spasm hit her. "Get Nike."

I called her.

"Go...wait for her. Bring her here." She looked to Nira, her eyes pleading. "Don't leave please. G'han is out."

[Akki]

Akki appeared with the others, not even noticing the new person who was in the room there. "G'hans out?" She asked, mostly to herself and then said, "I'll tell Ebbeth to tell him what's happening as soon as he appears. He too is looking for Nike.". I hope you heard that Ebbeth Akki said to her blue as he replied [glow=blue,2,300]Look for the healer and the boy[/glow] Akki truly had no idea what to do but wait, but was there enough time to wait?

[Tenma]

The boy gulped, now realizing the woman was pregnant.

Nira sat on Rhia's bed and held the brownrider's head. "I would never think of leaving you, you should know me better by now." Nira was truly worried.
Calm yourself mine. Everything will be all right. Siarath soothed her mine.
Nira nodded. "Everything is going to be ok." She said soothingly. She looked around worridly, hoping Nike would be here soon. Her eyes caught the strange sight of a boy. "Who are you?" She wondered, not knowing why a stranger was in the weyr, let alone in Rhia;s room.

"Jakel." He introduced himself. "I just arrived as a candidate." He said, blushing.

[Spirithawk]

Rhia saw Akki and tried to smile. "Always seeming to be in the thick of trouble eh Akki?" She closed her eyes for a few moments and then shivered. She was cold from the sweat pouring from her body.

She noted the newcomer. "This is a fine welcome you are getting into Dark Moon. Our Weyrwoman is laid up in bed, fresh from delivering her own babe and you arrive just in time to witness the birth of twins. I should have realized that they would want to be born soon. Christae already had her baby."

"Christae sent G'han on an errand to Southern and told him to spend the night there. I hope he returns in time." Her brow was furrowed with pain and worry. "Nike had better hurry or they will be born naturally."

((As you can see this is after the weyrleader's meeting))

[Akki]

She smiled thinly and said, "Do you expect anything less from me Rhia?". She jumped foot to foot slightly, adrenaline pumping through out her body. She noticed the boy and said, "Mine name is Akki, ignore what everyone says about me. Unless it's good.". She thought for a moment and said, "Rhia, they are looking for Nike but mean while is there anything we can do? Honestly I have no idea what to do...".

[Spirithawk]

"I honestly don't know the first thing about giving birth. My own mother never had the chance to teach me and I never thought to ask our healers."

Rhia leaned her head back against her pillow for a few moments and then looked up again. "Uslanee might know what to do if you can find her. She should be here. Can someone get me some water? I don't think klah would be a smart thing to drink at the moment."

[Akki]

"You are probably right, I'll run and grab it. I shouldn't be off long unless Sargon comes out of nowhere and mauls me" she stated with a shrug before walking briskly to grab some water. She could only hope Nike would come soon, or G'han would. She felt Ebbeth nudge at her mind, wanting her to explain what was happening. She's giving birth she said simply.

[Tenma]

"I will go too, I don't want to feel useless." Jakel smiled and followed Akki. "What does she mean, you always find trouble?" Jakel asked as he followed the bluerider to get a cup of water.

Rhia managed to chuckle.

Christae came out of a fellis enduced sleep slowly. She heard Mneith's bellows and sat up with a gasp. "Rhia!"

Stay in bed mine. You know that the healers would not want you getting up. You will hurt yourself.

Christae grudgingly agreed. ~Kaith, go check on her. Tell me what is going on.~

The golden Queen launched herself from her own ledge and flew to the brownrider's weyr. She could not land because of the dragons already there.

Nira, tell me what is happening. Kaith saw Akki leaving the weyr. Akki, is Rhia ok? Christae wishes to know.

[Akki]

Kaith? Rhia is fine, she is going to give birth and Nike and G'han are away at the moment. She said before turning to Jakel and smiled crookedly before saying, "I have...a talent let us say. I create trouble and mischeif or I find it. Which ever one is easier really.". She surveyed the boy for a moment before saying. "You're new here so I'm going to offer you advice, but only if you want it.".

[Tenma]

~I beleive Rhia is in labor. Do NOT let Christae come.~ She told the queen, stressing 'not.'

Jakel laughed at the bluerider's answer, then continued. "Why not, I am not one to refuse help." He said.

[Akki]

"Best of luck, avoid rotting food, don't eat earwax and look on the bright side of life." She said simply as she continued to walk along. She could feel Ebbeths amusement radiating from him, What? she asked. [glow=blue,2,300]Words to live by[/glow] He commented. Do I give any other kind?

[Miki]

Kia slept at the very edge of her bed. It was a miracle that she had not already fallen. An ear-splitting bellow reached her and she shot up to get an unwanted surprise. She slipped off the edge and groaned. Kylath ran up to her bonded. [shadow=red,left,300]Mine, don't just sit there! We need to go- that was Meneith![/shadow]Kia stood up and ran out, not bothering to change from the snipped breaches and large shirt she wore.

Instead of reaching the Weyr she first saw Akki and a boy. "Akki, what is happening," she asked worriedly. Kylath came jogging behind but on Kia's order, instead went to Rhia's Weyr. She, luckily, could still fit in unlike the other dragons so she was quite big.

[Tenma]

Jakel mearly laughed at the advice. "I don't think there has ever been a time where I havn't looked on the brightside of things. I even do so at night." He laughed at his own lame joke.

They then ran into another girl. "Umm...some woman is in labor." He informed the ridder. He noticed that the dragon at her side was not of normal color. "What is that?" He asked with confusion, pointing at Kylath.

[Spirithawk]

Rhia noted the arrival of the copper weyrling Kylath. "I suppose Mneith's hollering woke the entire Weyr up. Someone find Kaith and tell her not to let Christae get up." Rhia spoke without knowing that Kaith had already been told as much.

She will not get up. Kaith landed on a nearby ledge. Seeing the little copper she spoke to her.

Kylath, my child. Relay events to me. I cannot land on Mneith's ledge with Sirarath and Mneith coming back and forth.

[Miki]

Kia rolled her eyes. "It's a dragon, of course," she said matter-of-factly. She figured since the boy was new she might as well be friendly. "She is my Copper Kylath, a mutant dragon. We have two in this Weyr."

D'ran at first wanted to ignore the loud bellow of Meneith but Aureth's constant complaining. He got up and threw on some pants before leaping out. Suni quickly followed after with Aureth there. He recognized it as Mneith so he quickly went to Rhia's Weyr.

D'ran was quite embarressed to see Rhia in bed and sweating. "Oh, sorry to intrude," he said, blushing a little. Aureth came in after with no shame. He walked up to Rhia and put his fore legs on her bed. [glow=blue,2,300]Are you okay?[/glow]
