Laerin arrived at the Weyr on the back of a blue dragon, excited and anxious. She looked around, taking in all the sights around her. Who would have known that little harper Laerin would become a candidate? She smiled to herself as she dismounted, still in awe of her surroundings.
She took down what little luggage she brought with her- a couple changes of clothes, her pipe, her gitar, and her harp. Laerin blinked and looked around, unsure of what to do now.

D'ran was walking around, playing his pipe. Aureth skipped happily after him, enjoying the music. [glow=blue,2,300]I love when you play![/glow]The Harper smiled on the inside and continued playing a happy little tune. Aureth took a few steps ahead of his bonded who closed his eyes for a moment to concentrate on this next, tricky part. [glow=blue,2,300]There is somebody here![/glow]D'ran was, of course, very suprised to hear his dragon and nearly stock part of the pipe down his theoat. "Aureth," he said disapprovingly and walked unsurely to the new Candidate. "Hello there," he said, holding his hand out to be shaken.

G'han was training by himself in the weyrbowl. K'dan was with him earlier wanting to do some training but soon G'han had tired him out. Perhaps you were a bit rough on him today than usual. ~Well he is getting better and I know he can take it~, G'han replied. He turned to notice a new candidate and also D'ran almost swallowing his pipe. He walked up behind him, "I don't think those are for eating. A harper should atleast know that much". He laughed and then turned to the new candidate, "Hi my name is G'han, wingleader of bronze Gerenanth and weyrmate to Rhia wingsecond of brown Mneith".

"You know G'han, you are too proud of that title of your's. And you don't have to add that Rhia is your Weyrmate." A slightly musical voice said from behind the bronzerider. Nike stood behind him grinning. Her shoulder length hair was pulled up in a bun. One long thin strand fell in her face. The Healer had just finished her daily rounds and was coing down to the Lower caverens to get something to eat. She wore her normal Healer green outfit. Zim and Crystal were perched on her shoulders, while Ruanth was close to Nike's leg, eyeing the new Candidate with uneasy eyes. Is she nice? I don't know, I haven't met her yet. "Hello, I'm Nike, Master Healer of White Ruanth." She said with a warm smile to the new Candidate.

G'han smiled back, "Ah yes but I like for everyone to know how I feel about her. Perhaps you could call it professing my love for her. And perhaps I do like my title but I try not to boast to often. Perhaps I feel the need to let everyone know. Giving facts about me and letting people know a little more about me. See a simple explanation for all of that. Oh and you just missed K'dan, he was here with me a while ago but went to his barracks". Gerenanth nodded at his rider, sometimes he was more oblivious than his weyrling friend K'dan. Although he never told him what the small gold had said. Gerenanth of course didn't hesitate to listen, he enjoyed gossip as much as any other rider or dragon.

Mneith glided into the Weyr, bugling to the watchdragon. He landed carefully so as not to jar his rider. Rhia slid from the large brown's back and walked up to the group gathered. She reached up and kissed her weyrmate's cheek. "Hello everyone." She said cheerily.
"Hi. I am Rhia of brown Mneith." She said to the newcomer. "Welcome to Dark Moon Weyr. I hope you are happy here." She smiled brightly. She hoped that Nike wouldn't comment on her riding Mneith. It was almost to the end of her seventh month of her pregnancy but she wasn't feeling any pain after the last time she had been bedridden.

G'han looked at her. "I thought you were in bed. You could have atleast told me you were going to do something I could have helped you", he said, though not in a mean tone.

Nike snorted at G'han's comment. She then turned to Rhia. The girl put on her Healer face, and walked up to the brown rider waggin her finger. "I told you not to ride, didn't I?" She said tapping her foot, and her hands on her slim hips. Ruanth was still close to Nike's leg, eyeing the new Candidate.

G'han gave Nike a weird look when Nike snorted at him. He listened to her fuss Rhia as well. He nodded his head and said to Rhia, "Why don't you go and rest now".

D'ran glared jokingly at G'han. "Really? Maybe you should be a Harper," he said, Aureth laughed at his rider and skipped up to Ruanth. [glow=blue,2,300]Hey, Ruanth, how are you?[/glow]He had pretty much given up saying clutch-sister to Ruanth every time he sawher. D'ran smiled at his dragon and wiped the flute off with the bottom of his shirt.

"Ha me a harper. No sorry, I am a fighter. That's what I do. People are meant for different things in life, to play different roles. Though I wouldn't mind learning a thing or too. I am always open to new things. Picking up a few songs wouldn't hurt", he said. "Heck if I can teach you to fight then you should be able to teach me something musical", he said jokingly and slapped him on the back, though not realizing how hard, and laughed. Gerenanth just nodded his head. Sometimes he is worse than me. Especially when it comes to training and fighting. Gerenanth said for all there to hear. G'han glared at his dragon who was beside him now.

D'ran wanted to glare for real at G'han but didn't. People could do anything if they pleased. He shook it off and smiled. "I guess I could teach you to play an instrument of your choice," he said with a slight grin.

"Sure. Sounds like a good trade off. I teach you and you teach me. What instruments can you teach me?", G'han asked.

"Well, what floats your boat," he said with a shrug. He knew a lot of instruments. Suni popped in by D'ran and chirped. He flew around with a chirp or two.

"Well I have always been interested in singing and perhaps the flute as well", he said remembering D'ran almost swallowing the flute. You sing. This I would have to see. G'han shot a glance at his dragon, "You will see".

D'ran smiled gently. "Well, I could tell you a few warm-ups to help your singing voice and flute is not a problem. I'll see if I can find a spare for you. How does that sound," he asked with a smile.

"Sounds good. I will show my little upstart dragon that I can indeed sing and play a flute", he said to D'ran then turned to his dragon and stuck out his tongue.

Rhia glared at G'han. "I don't need your help to do everything and I don't need to be resting all the time." She looked at Nike. "You told me that I could fly as long as it didn't hurt until my 8th month."
"I do believe the attention has turned away from welcoming our newest rider. G'han...just make sure you vocalize away from my hearing."
I was making sure she wasn't hurting herself Nike. Mneith's voice held a hint of contriteness. I will not let her ride again.

"Hopefully your dragon is not speaking the truth. I don't want to be tortured teaching you," he said with a little laugh. Aureth brushed up against him and D'ran realized just how lucky he was to have the little dragon. Maybe he wasn't the highest ranking and not the largest of his color but Aureth was perfect. He was not even meant to recieve a dragon. He came as a Harper and by the time he left the hatching was a Weyrling. The Harper gleamed with pride. Aureth looked at him with his head cocked and one eye half closed. [glow=blue,2,300]You ok?[/glow]D'ran nodded.

G'han shot a hurt look at his weyrmate then said, "You will be suprised that my voice isn't too bad. True I spent most of my time with my dad but what time I spent with my mother we would sing together. She enjoyed singing", G'han said remembering his mother. He only wished he could have spent more time with her and his younger brother before. He sighed but there was nothing he could do about it now, atleast he didn't think so. But perhaps he was wrong.
