Weyrwoman Christae waited in her seat at the head of the table. She had helped Sh'iron send messages to all of their riders. This was a mandatory meeting. Even the watchdragon's rider was here. His dragon was still on guard but all of the dragons were tuned in on the meeting. A few of their Wingriders had already arrived.
The young Weyrwoman nodded a greeting as Wingsecond Rhia walked in. The young woman was just as pregnant as she was. The brownrider was showing more than Christae was though. Both were in their sixth month but the differences in their sizes was not unusual. Each woman developed differently during pregnancy. Christae was at the stage where she was beginning to get swollen feet and was hoping that she would not go over her term.
The Weyrleaders had called a meeting because dire things were happening in the weyr. Holders were causing trouble. Several of the holds that looked to them were not taking proper Thread prevention and they were not tithing. The Weyr was short on food even though Nira had been helping Uslanee and the drudges collect berries and other such crops to augment their supplies. The few holds that did tithe did not have much to spare themselves.
Also, Thread was immenent. It had been predicted that Thread would not return for another 60 Turns but the Red Star was drawing ever closer at an alarming rate. All of the signs pointed to an early Pass and Pern was unprepared. The golds were clutching more often. The Red Star was drawing ever closer, along with other, less obvious signs. The Weyrleaders and their Weyrwomen would be coming to Dark Moon Weyr within a few days to conferr about what would be done. They still didn't know about Dark Moon's white and copper dragons. The Weyrs needed to take immediate action against Thread. They did not want to be caught unawares when the deadly rain began. They would begin Weyr Games and perhaps have inter-Weyr competitions. For now though, they had to warn their own riders so that the weyr would look in tip-top shape when the other Weyrleaders arrived.

G'han arrived with Rhia to the meeting and greeted Christae. He was worried about what he thought this might be about. He looked at Rhia, She was bigger than Christae it seemed. He took a seat next to her and waited for others to arrive.

T'rin took a seat at the table designated for weyrlings, and waited quietly. Amparath was with him, but sleepy, as his nap had been interrupted for this meeting.
Why do we have to come here? he complained.
~Shh, this is very important. I can tell. I'm tired too, but we just have to deal with that right now.~

Akki slipped into the meeting nodding silently to the others as a short greeting before sliding into her seat. Everyday seemed to make her more tired, Sargons cherping and small, almost non-existent sounds, kept her awake and staring at nothing just waiting for the next day come. [glow=blue,2,300]It would be wise if we try to remember everything that will go on in here[/glow] Ebbeth said, unaware of his mines tiredness but aware of the fact this was going to be important. Akki replied with small, weak agreement.

Miya walked into the room and looked at the table. This was her first time for a meeting and she had no idea where to sit. Reinath came with her mine like normal. Miya noticed that Reinath was beginning to grow at a faster rate, and she knew her dragon wouldn't be able to go into all of the rooms for too much longer. Soon they would have to be seperated due to the lack of space for grown dragons. Ask before the meating starts. Look there he is. Reinath growled, motioning with her head. ~Fine, fine. It's not like I have anything else to do while I wait since I don't know where to go.~ Miya grumbled in reply as she walked toward G'han. "Umm...G'han?" Miya stumbled, still not sure if she shoulde, but the queen was beginning to threaten her. "Do you think, I could train with you K'dan and D'ran?" Miya asked, a bit quickly.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nira walked into the meeting. ~Are you listening?~ Nira asked her dragon. Yes, do not worry. I shall not fall asleep. Siarath replied. Nira was afriad the draogn would snooze of because the green was laying near the lake. ~I will hold you to that.~ Nira relpied, taking her seat at the table.
Christae nodded to her friends as they came in. She noted that several of them seemed tired. She asked Kaith to bespeak Ebbeth asking if his rider was well. The gold willingly obliged.
Birinj popped from /between/ followed by Rhia's silvery-green Gylfie. The green flitt flew to the brownrider and landed on her shoulder. Christae's bright bronze fluttered around her excitedly. ~Kaith please thank Nira for her help lately with the food situation.~ The gold made a remark about becoming a messenger but did as she was asked. ~While you are at it tell Miya that she and Reinath are to come to the High Table.~ There were seats reserved for Junior Weyrwomen and Miya would be filling that position soon enough.
Miya, my rider requests that you attend her at the High Table.
When Kaith asked Ebbeth if Akki was sick he perked up. Was she? He was to busy thinking what this meeting was and thought she was too and that was why he got the small reply to his statement before. But now as he thought about it his mine didn't seem so well, espeacially when he saw her that morning she seemed paler than usual, which was a hard thing to accomplish. [glow=blue,2,300]Are you well Akkmine? Kaith's mine is curious I think[/glow] He asked, curiously awaiting her answer. I have felt better She replied to Ebbeth who relayed it back to the gold.
~Reinath, let's go, Christae wished for us to go sit at the High Table.~ Miya said as an excuse, though it was true. Stay, mine. You must first pursuade G'han. Reinath glared at the rider. Kaith, we will be there in a moment. The gold told the other queen, her glaring eyes, not leaving Miya. ~You are a true gold.~ Miya sighed.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~Siarath, can you talk to Kaith for me?~ Nira asked, since she had just sat down. Yes mine. Siarath agreed. Nira, says your welcome.Siarath said to Kaith.

Kaith relayed everyone's replies to her rider. Christae sighed. ~Tell Akki that if she feels worse she had better see a healer. Tell Nira that I hope I can continue to rely on her. Miya must be sitting here before the meeting begins. That is all I will tell her.~

D'ran strolled leaisurely into the caverns. Aureth trotted behind, a large smile on his face. ~Why so happy?~ [glow=blue,2,300]Just thinking.[/glow]D'ran nodded and found a seat for Weyrlings only. Aureth curled up by his feet. He closed his eyes but still listened. ~I have a feeling we both should listen carefully.~

G'han looked over and noticed Miya talking to him. That seemed like a first but perhaps the girl was changing for the better. "Um sure you can join us. I have no objections and K'dan and D'ran don't have a choice. Though I am sure they wouldn't mind. K'dan is a nice enough boy and doesn't get angry or hold a grudge easily and what I can tell from D'ran he seems to like to stay in the same positive mood".
K'dan arrived with Hydrath at the meeting he saw T'rin there and sat next to him. "How's it going?", he asked. Hydrath greeted Amparath. He seemed a bit tired, though Hydrath seemed tired alot.

D'ran grinned when he saw K'dan. "Hey," he said with a wave and then returned to his silent, emotionless waiting. Aureth nodded a hello and then returned to resting.

"It's going fairly well," said T'rin, "but I an wondering what this is about. It can't be all good." The worried look on his face only grew.
Hello, Hydrath, Amparath said. Were you napping, too when your Mine interrupted the nice, restful sleep to come here? Amparath was still sulking over having to leave the barracks.
"Pretty soon, you won't have to leave your bed, because you won't fit in here," T'rin said aloud. "And it won't be much longer," he said, more to himself then his dragon. Amparath was growing rapidly, and even now barely made it through some of the doorways without squeezing.

"Yeah I am worried too. Something tells me this is really bad", he said. He looked over to G'han who had a worried look on his face. That only deepened K'dan's feeling that it was something bad. Yes he did. He woke me up to come here. "Hydrath you sleep a bit too much and it worries me sometimes. I hope it is only because of your size. I would hate to think that I have a lazy blue", K'dan said aloud to his dragon. "I think it will be awhile before Hydrath will have to squeeze through doorways", he said to T'rin. True his dragon was growing but he was a blue and a small blue at that. K'dan often thought that perhaps he would have the smalest blue in the weyr. He wasn't sure of it but it was something fun to think about and it would make him pretty unique. He never thought it a negative thing of Hydrath's size but a unique thing.

Sh'iron walked into the room wit a thoughtful expression on his face. Nothing else showed on his face. The Weyrleader was going over his speech in his mind. He had too. It was going to be so hard to break the news to the Weyr that Thread will be falling in the next two the three Turns. Atleast then, Kaith's first clutch will be mature enough to fight. Well mabey not Ruanth. But there will be other clutchest that KAith will lay between that time.
He walked quickly up to his chair next to christae and sat down, waiting for the rest of the riders to fill in. It was going to be a crowded room. Well when the Weyrleaders came, it will be too. Ah well, life was hard as a Dragon rider. You had to think of everything kind of problem and find every kind of sloution. Few could do that, and that was why so few became riders. This was not going to be fun.
----------------------------------
F'tan sighed as he walked into the room. His dark eyes scanned the room before he made his way to sit in his chair on Sh'iron's left. Christae was on his right, and Miya would be sitting on the Weyrwoman's right. He knew this meeting wasn't going to be good. The look on Sh'iron's face wasn't good. Neither on Christae.
The young Wingleader looked over the filling up room before crossing his arms over his chest, and waited for this meeting to start.
--------------------------------
T'ran walked in and took a seat without a glance at anyone. He was thinking. Not about the meeting. No about Akki. How could he tell her that he didn't want to be with her? The green rider liked the blue rider as a friend, but not as a lover. The only reason he stayed with her was because of Kalaryth and Ebbeth and that he didn't want to see her heart broken when he broke the news to her. The green rider sighed and thought over everything that was going on.
-------------------------------
Nike walked into the room quickly, took a seat and sat down hard. Ruanth came running in with Zim, Crystal and a few other firelizards in her wake. The Master Healer was mad. For a few reasons. As she was coming to the meeting, she and Ruanth had met up with some male riders. They were, like always, making fun of her beloved white. Saying that the only thing she did was take up space, and some great hide for riding gear. Saying that Ruanth would die before Nike would ever get to fly her. Oh, and many more that Nike would rather put at the back of her mind.
Ruanth's eyes were filled with worry as she looked up at Nike's hard expressionless face. Only the normally bright happy forest green eyes were dark, and looked like night had come into the forest with no star or moon light. Rider and dragon were talking without words, and didn't want to be disturped at that moment. Nike was ready for the meeting before she ran into the riders, but at this moment she was not.

~There are you happy.~ Miya stated to her dragon when G'han replied. "Thankyou." she said quickly to the bronze rider and rushed over to her seat. She sat down at looked at Christae, then at Reinath who sat by her feet. Yes I am. REinath said, as her many faceted eyes looked around at the others in the room.

Ebbeth relayed the message back to Akki about seeing a healer and in return recieved a numb reply as his mine watched people pour into the room. Her thoughts were straying as she tried to concentrate what Ebbeth was saying, what was this meeting about? If it called for everyone to be here it probably was important or devastating news, she could only hope it wouldn't be the second one though. She watched as Nike came into the room and waved at her friend. Ever since she realized she was no longer that great of friends with Nike she wanted to path things up, though she was slightly doubting that would happen. Still one could hope.

Christae nodded. "Miya pay close attention to what is going on. You will have to take part in these discussions one day." She told her Junior Queenrider. She was pleased with the girl's progress, strange as it was for her to say that. She took her weyrmate's hand and squeezed it lightly when he sat down.
She noted the entrance of more riders. Most of their riders were present. There were a few weyrlings missing. Christae frowned. They would have to be taught how to be punctual to such meetings. ((hint hint)) There were also at least one transfer rider missing. G'age she thought the bronzerider's name was, if she remembered correctly.
Yes. G'age of bronze Gendilith.
~Thank you love.~
You are welcome.
Christae wondered what she would do without her dragoness. Be lost? Christae laughed at her dragon's comment. Then she sighed. She hoped the others would show up soon. She could tell that Sh'iron and the others were anxious to get this over with. The Weyrling bronzerider T'rin was positively bursting with anticipation from what she could see.
Birinj finally settled down, landing on her shoulder and watching the goings on with a comical serious expression. Christae saw Nike enter and signaled for the whiterider to come forward. She wanted to speak to her before the meeting began.

Kia's eyes burst open finally when she realized what she had been told. "Oh no, oh no, not again," she mumblled as she stumbbled out of bed. Tokagae had kept her up that night so she got to sleep very late and slept in, slept in very late. She looked through all her clothes, horrified to find all that was left was a dress. Though she was a bit obsessive compulsive about her hair, she was not a girly person in any other way. The dress was white, bright yellow flowers embroided on. She placed it on and tied the yellow ribbon it came with around her waist. She brushed her hair a bit with a comb. She flipped her hair and turned, tripping over Kylath. [shadow=red,left,300]Ouw![/shadow]~Sorry, love.~ She was starting to say words and phrases the others said. The Weyrling rubbed her elbow and peered out the door. "Oh, come on, Kylath," she said as she peered out of the barrack. Kylath streached and then followed her bonded. The two ran to tyhe Lower Caverns and Kia was confronted with something only Malenie had said. Somebody was making fun of Kylath. The Copper was a good size but, still, she was a very odd color. The insults were bad enough; Kia could not imagine if the riders were drunk, what would they say? Kia stormed in, Kylath following suit. Both were furious. Kia grabbed a seat, a bit aways from everyone. Kylath layed down and mumbbled to herself.

Miya didn't reply but put a look on her face that made her look like she really cared. Sure she knew it was important but she already knew that she would have to do this one day and that it was important to listen. Hold your temper mine, I have the feeling this is not a good time to get mad. Reinath intruded on Miya's thoughts. ~Yeah. I figure something has gone wrong.~ Miya replied to the queen.
