Nike grinned as she dragged D'ran into the Lower Caverens. The people nodded in welcome then went back to their daily chores.
Nike was lucky. Well she never agreed with anyone if they said that she was lucky. She would tell them "I have a dragon to tend to, a Weyr to fix up, and two nagging firelizards that hover over me so much that they think that I will pop /between/ forever!"
She was no where close to being lucky.
The young Master Healer was used to doing her rounds, but her only compains were her firelizards. Ruanth couldn't climb all the stairs to the higher weyrs where many of Nike's patients were, dragons.
Of course the Weyr's humans were fine. but the dragons always seemed to get burned left and right. Oh, it was Sh'iron who was doing this. She just knew! He and his training would get the whole Weyr killed!
Nike sighed as she led her Harper friend to the infirmary at the back of the Craftsfolk Hall. She was terribly upset at the MasterHealer Chad. He had takedn away her two Jourenymen Healers. And he knew perfectly well that she was the worst midwife ever! She was a surgeon. She didn't deal with screaming and crying babies. She had to deal with dimglow, wherryheaded patients who didn't want to be cut open to save their life!
Ruanth trotted along behind her and the Harper. Crystal and Zim were on the white's back as she walked along. Her head was held high and proud as she led the way to the infirmary. She knew where it was, but Aureth didn't. That made her feel very proud.

Aureth followed obediantly, Suni laying on his back.

D'ran walked beside Nike, nodding to all the people.
He recognized a lot of them but there were some he had never seen.

Nike led the Harper boy into the infimary.
She walked over to the shelves and cabnites that lined the wall.
"Hm? Oh it will work. We will just act like we are young lovers who can't help it. I do hope you are a good actor."
The Healer said as she came back to D'ran with her healing kit in her hand.
Ruanth turned to Aureth.
Following our Mines as the fix people, dragons, and firelizards that are hurt.

D'ran smiled gently as he walked with her.
He wondered how many were hurt today.
Aureth nodded.

"D'ran there is only one thing." Nike said as she slowly walked beside the Harper to the Lower Caverens.
"You must make the others believe that we are in love. Can you do that?" Of course, she knew that she could do that.
But could D'ran?
Ruanth looked up at the riders as she followed them.
Can your Mine act? She asked the blue. The white knew that her Mine didn't have to act to love D'ran.
But the only thing if her rider only liked the Harper boy, or really loved h im. THat was the only thing she never knew about her bonded.

Aureth looked curiously at D'ran.

Nike looked down at the two dragons that up at D'ran.
"Is that true?" She asked, wondering if it was.
Ruanth looked from D'ran, to Nike to Aureth.
Now they know! No more secrects to keep and hide from eachother!
The white said walked behind her rider -who was facing D'ran- and gave her a push from behind which made Nike fall into D'ran.

Aureth grinned broadly at his rider.

D'ran glared down at the Blue.
He looked at Nike.
The Harper saw Ruanth push her Mine and caught Nike tightly so she didn't slip.
He wanted to say something but he was at a loss of words.
What if Nike did not like him?
[glow=blue,2,300]Oh calm down.[/glow]D'ran took a deep breath and finally spoke.
"Are you ok?"

Nike had droped her kit when she fell forward.
Ruanth laughed at the blue dragon.
Let's watch what they do! She said for the blue's mind only.
Nike leaned heavly against D'ran's.
"Yes I'm fine. But you still haven't answered my question." She said, raising her head to meet the Harper's eyes.

D'ran blushed a little and looked at Nike's eyes.
"It's... it's... it's true. It has been for a while," he said.
He was a bit relieved to finally tell her.

Ruanth seemed to giggle like a little girl watching an older couple kiss.
Nike looked up at D'ran with wide eyes.
"I knew it!" She whispered. The healer raised her right hand and rested it on D'ran's hot cheek.
"Don't be ashamed. Love is natural. And to be trueful, I am uncerterin aboutt he one who my heart goes to. You or K'dan."
She said with little sigh.

D'ran took a deep breath.
K'dan was a really great person and would be good for Nike.
He wondered if he would be good for her.

Nike rested her head on his chest and spoke.
"My father had always told me that I would chose who my heart would go too.
He said that I didn't have to have a spouse or mate if I didn't want too. But he said if you did, chose one that would be good for you. And hopefully you are good for me." She sighed and closed her eyes. Poor K'dan. But still, she wasn't sure. She had liked D'ran and K'dan as friends. But for the longest moment she knew she had liked one of them. But the firelizard flight had told her. She just felt bad for K'dan. His heart would be broken.
Ruanth stoped to listen to her rider then turned to Aureth.
She told him! She told him! She said in a happy, and rushed voice.

Aureth jumped up with glee.
He jumped on Ruanth in joy.

He hugged her closer and wondered if he should give her a kiss.

Nike was only slightly surprised when D'ran kissed her. The Healer smiled mentaly, then responed.
Ruanth rolled to her back when the large blue jumped on her.
Yes! No more akward moments! She said happily.

"Where is everyone?" Miya wondered aloid. Then her dark brown eyes caught a strange sight. "Well, well well." She said when she spot D'ran close in on Nike and touch his lips to her. "You finally made up you mind Nike?" she taunted, watching the two.
Reinath scrawled over when she heard Miya's words. Is that the human version of a flight you were telling me about? Reinath asked curiously. Recently the bondeds have been bored so Miya had been teaching her the differences of dragons and humans, and that fact had slipped out.
~No, but it is close.~ Miya smiled as she watched D'ran and Nike, waiting to see how they would react.

D'ran closed his eyes, a bit lost in the moment.
He heard Miya butn was a little reluctant to respond.
He wondered what Nike would do.

Nike swalloed hard when she heard Miya's voice.
The healer broke away to glare at Miya.
"What is it to you?" She asked, glaring at the young gold rider and her dragon.
Ruanth turned her head to watch Reinath.
The white was no longer afraid of her, and was ready to fight the queen if she would say anything rude.

"I guess I just end up where the news happens. So, have you made up your mind about D'ran and K'dan. Didn't think you would do that so quickly." Miya smirked, enjoying herself.
Reinath watched the white and blue. So I supose you are going to try and catch the weak little white, eh Aureth? Reinath said, copying her riders insult.
