Christae chuckled. "I am not trying to chase away your trainees. I am just giving them fair warning."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rhia muttered under her breath. "I would chase them away." She finished her klah and stood. "I think I am going saddle up Sundance, or I might just go for a nice long flight on Mneith."
Sh'iorn cocked his head at K'dan. "You won't want to train with G'han when you start your lessons. Ask Nike if you don't trust us. Go on! She knows what she's talking about. P'ren's tough." He said then grinned and turned to look at G'han. "How about you take your Weyrling lessons with P'ren. You never learned the Dragon Toss, or Ground Drills, or the Flying Drills."
Christae looked thoughful. "That is a good idea Sh'iron. Nira never finished her training either. Technically the two of them are still considered weyrlings." She laughed. "I am suprised Rhia didn't teach you that stuff herself. She and Mneith are always out doing stunts."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rhia shook her head. "He was always too busy training or being a Wingleader to learn that from me. I'd teach him now but...." She gestured down at her belly. "He'd have a fit, even though I am allowed to do those things for a while longer."

Sh'iron nodded. "I want G'han sweat. And work hard. G'han, I'll tell P'ren to go easy on you!" He said grinning. P'ren was tough. Tougher than Nike was with Healing. That was tough. He sighed, happy that G'han would go through Weyrling Training.

"Don't tell him that and you must not have ever met my father. Sure it's not weyrling lessons but his training was more than hard enough. I think I can handle it", he said. He looked over to Rhia, he knew she was perturbed. She obviously hated for him to train, but he couldn't give that up. It was stuck in him and he had other reasons he trained. He thought back to the renengade attacks and rubbed the two scars he got and looked at Rhia. Thanks to him she had gotten hurt. It seemed he would always blame himself for that and what happened to his family.

"I agree. He sould finish his Werling training." Rhia turned. "I am going for a ride or something." She walked out.

"Great now she is mad at me", he said. He followed after her. "What is wrong with you", he asked.
K'dan gave a puzzled look as the two walked out. "Looks like he is in trouble", he said shaking his head. Now he felt it was his fault that G'han and Rhia were fighting. After all G'han was training him and Rhia was mad at him for training.

"Nothing is wrong with me." She said and continued walking.

Christae sighed. "She is just worried. Everything changes once you have a baby."

"Yes something is wrong. Tell me what it is. We are suppose to be honest with each other and so far you haven't been holding up your end of the bargain", he said to her. He wasn't mad or anything he just wished she would trust him enough to tell him something.

"You want to know what is upsetting me, then I will tell you. I know exactly what day I got pregnant, you know why? Because that was the only day when we actually had time to spend together, the day you finally moved in with me. The last time we got to spend some time together besides breakfast and an occasional dinner with the other riders was a month ago, the day after I realized I was pregnant. And that was only beacuse I was tired and Mneith told Kaith on me and I had to stay and rest. That is what I am upset about. You spend more time training than with me. I don't mind you training but you spend every spare minute of your time training and training." She barely stopped for a breath the entire time she spoke. Her voice was low so that no one else would hear but her anger was clear.

"I am sorry I do admit I train too much. But I lose the people I care about and I don't want to lose you. I feel so weak and helpless because of that. I will stop training so much, though", he said to her.

"You think it's that easy don't you. You train and train and train and you won't lose the people you love? It's not like that G'han. I could have trained all I wanted and that still wouldn't have saved my family. Stop blaming yourself for the renegade attack G'han! There was NOTHING you could have done. They attacked US...you didn't attack them. You could not have stopped them from attacking me. I went after them. It was my own fault that I got beaten."
"If you don't want to lose me, then make sure you have me first." She snapped. "I won't stay with you if you are never there. There are other riders who would like my company." With that she turned on her heel. Mneith came at her call. He had his riding straps on. She was going to run errands today but now that was out of the question. If she went anywhere she had to fly straight, no matter, the place where she was going was only a two or three hour flight on a dragon.

T'rin was late, as usual, to what seemed an extremely important fuss. After asking around at the edges of the main gathering, he discovered that not only was the Weyrwoman pregnant, but Brownrider Rhia as well! He was just in time to see G'han fall for what was apparently the second time, and he shook his head at that. A bronzerider fainting! He remarked on that to a passing drudge, and the drudge said that Christae had fainted as well. T'rin was amazed as he leaned against the wall in his usual lazy-cat position.

G'han looked crushed. "I am sorry", he told her. He called for Gerenanth and he flew away. Gerenanth would have told Rhia the location but he knew his rider would get mad at him so he hoped he could help G'han come back to his senses on his own.

After Rhia had been flying for a few minutes she had Mneith turn around. She shouldn't have gotten mad, but she still disliked the fact that he was always training. When she returned she found that he was gone. She went back into the kitchens to get something to eat.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"I take it you two fought by the look on your face." Christae said. She had hoped for this day to remain a happy one for both couples but it didn't look like it would. She gave the brownrider a look of sympathy. "Just give him time. He will cool off." She looked up at Sh'iron. "Shall we retire to our office then?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rhia nodded. "I will give him some time." She ate and then went up to her weyr to wait.

"Christae and Rhia are pregnant and Rhia is mad at G'han for always training." Miya told T'rin, as the rider entered the room. All of the riders keep fainting like thread has come to live on Pern. Reinath told T'rin'ws bronze with a sigh. "It is all quite pathetic." It is all quite pathetic. Both Miya and Reinath said at the exact same time. The two bondeds looked at eachother with amazement.

"Sorry Rhia. This is all my fault. I should never have asked him to train me", he apologized to her. He left to go to his barracks, not waiting for an answer. I should never have asked him to train me, now I got him in trouble, he though to himself.

T'rin banished quickly the shocked look that threatened to take hold of his face-- Miya was talking to him, and voluntarily!-- and grinned. "Pathetic, perhaps," he replied, "but also interesting. And maybe not so good for us weyrlings. They'll be giving us lessons along with P'ren, I'm sure."
Amparath gave a dragonish chuckle when Miya said it was quite pathetic. They said that at the same time, he added when T'rin was puzzled by the look passing from dragon to rider. Perhaps their partnership will work out.
To Reinath, he said, Yes, it is odd that G'han acted as he did. He trains all the time. But I suppose that shows that despite how people aact most of the time, they may not be the same on the inside. This last bit he deviously let Miya overhear.
"Well," T'rin continued, unaware of Amparath's plannings, "It has all at least proved something to occupy the time until training."

Christae watched Rhia walk away sadly. "Hello young T'rin. The last time I saw you was the after Hatching feast. How are you and young Amparath? Miya, tomorrow I want you to report to my office. I must begin training you to be the Junior Weyrwoman."

G'han ordered Gerenanth to stop. "What am I doing. My father never taught me to run away from my problems. He taught me to always face them", he said to himself. He flew back to their weyr and apologized to Rhia saying he wouldn't train anymore.
