"I would also like to take over any duties as well. I helped Rhia before, when I had the spare time. So I will be more than happy to help and Rhia you had better not go between. I wouldn't want to lose our kid", he said to her. He was already sitting down, he didn't remember how he got to the seat. All he remembered was saying for someone to catch him then he was talking while sitting down. The shock of having a child was starting to wear off now.

Sh'iron shot a glance at G'han. "You are already a Wingleader, but since you want more work than you already have, I think I can come up with creative and hard duties for you." He said with a smug smile. Being a Wingleader, even in an Interval, was hard. It took up half of your life. The other half was for your dragon, and if any, a weyrmate. There was really no more time for other duties other than chores.

G'han gave a smirk back, "Being raised by my Dad, easy was never in my vocabulary". If the weyrleader thought he couldn't handle anymore then he was out to prove him wrong. It seemed his whole life G'han always wanted to prove himself.

Sh'iron rolled his eyes. "No man, no Wingleader was ever able to do his duties as a Wingleader, as a dragonrider, and to his Weyr. That is impossable. G'han. For a man even in your way, you would crack." He said, staring at the young bronzerider. "I tried it once before. Same with F'tan, and a few of my other Wingleader friends. We all cracked within a seveday. Leave it to the brown, blue and green riders. They never get fame. It is always the bronze and golds who take it. Let them do it. It makes them feel important."

"I suppose you are right. I guess I got a bit carried away. I just don't want it to be like I am not heping her", he said. But don't you always get carried away. Sometimes I think you have more pride than me ~Shush Gerenanth~, he told his dragon simply.

Sh'iron smiled at G'han. "You can help her in a different way. Not by taking over her duties." He said with a nod to the bronzerider. "But it was still good for you to ask. I respect that." He added with another nod of approvle.

"I guess so. But surely I could still help out when I have the free time", he asked.

Rhia shook her head and was relieved when Sh'iron curbed her weyrmate's eagerness. "I don't want you taking extra duties anyway. You have more duties than I do as a Wingsecond and we barely get time to spend together as it is. I will be bored out of my wits. I know you guys won't want me to practice my aerial acrobatics anymore."

Christae smiled up at Sh'iron. "I am glad that it was your Myranenth who caught Kaith and not another bronzerider." She could not imagine how the other riders might have treated her. She had heard the horror stories from both green and gold riders about some of the bronzeriders. Most of them didn't care that they got their mates pregnant. That was why most riders turned to fostering.

"I guess this is true. I would also cut out my training but K'dan and D'ran have decided to train with me", he said. He thought to himself, today he was more like his dad than ever. He would have kids and he would be training others. His dad wasn't a dragonrider but that didn't matter, he was still a great man and an excellent fighter. Even G'han's skills paled in comparison to his Dad's, that's what he always thought anyway, he would never say that he was better than his Dad or equal even if it were true or not. He would try to make sure not to go too rough on the two weyrlings, not as rough as his Dad was on him. He smiled at the thought, his mom was always taking care of one injury or another and would always fuss his Dad for being too rough.

Sh'iorn smiled down at Christae. "Well, be glad it was Myranenth who caught Kaith. He won't let any other bronze near her now." The Weyrleader said rolling his eyes. "Well F'tan could help train them. He's a good fighter. His parents are the Weyrleaders of Benden. I'm surprised that his parents let him come here really..." Sh'iron then started talking to himself about Benden Weyr.

"Sure seeing as how I will be busier now. I would be glad for someone to pick up the slack for me from time to time", he said.
"Um I hope he isn't as rough as G'han is", K'dan said, still rubbing his shoulder. He hoped training with someone else from time to time would give him a break.
"What are you trying to say K'dan. Am I too much for you. I am actually going easier on you than my father did on me, though it was thanks to my father that I am the person that I am today", he said to K'dan. He noticed K'dan sigh when he said he was going easy on the weyrling.

Rhia sighed with exasperation when the men started talking about training. "Will you guys think about nothing but training and work?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Christae chuckled. "I am not complaining even though I didn't know you that well when she was caught." She laughed at Rhia's comment about the men talking about training and work. "Give up Rhia..they won't change."
"Honey that was my whole life until I came here. Besides you can't complain. You have a nice strong, fit weyrmate. who has a nice body thanks to his many turns of training", he said with a chuckle. He could say something else but he wouldn't. "D'ran if you want in a little while when K'dan catches his wind we can train again", he said with a smile. Rhia give it up. My mine prides himself on his physical abilities.
"I can too complain when that weyrmate spends more time worrying about his training than his weyrmate. It wasn't that hard to see that something was up with me, but did Bronzerider G'han notice? No." She almost spat out the word bronzerider. He was so arrogant now.
~I will not give it up Gerenanth. He shouldn't worry about his physical condition so much. I don't, especially considering that being a dragonrider keeps me fit enough.~
Sh'iron smiled. "Well, K'dan. You really don't have to train. Becoming a rider does change you. You will learn the dragon toss, and you will be doing other things so you won't have to train. G'han here didn't have the chance to do so for his hatching was so small." He nodded to the bronzerider. "When I met F'tan, he was skinner than you. Almost like a drudge. And as soon as we finshed beings Weyrlings, he got well, became the F'tan he is today."
Rhia you must understand something. I know my rider's thoughts. He traines because he worries about you. Think about it, he lost his family because he thought he was too weak to save them. He doesn't want to make the same mistake with you. Please cut him some slack, he does care.
Rhia shook her head. ~He shouldn't worry so.~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Being a dragonrider is training enough. We may not have Thread but we still need to train. Remember the last time Thread came early? The records say that the dragonriders weren't ready for it. A holding was nearly wiped out because the weyr that protected it was unprepared." Christae stated matter of factly

K'dan looked at his body, "I think it is best I train with him". He gave a smile. Perhaps with G'han's training he would have a nice fit body like his and be a very good fighter. And even gain a backbone and some confidence. His dragon said interrupting his thought. ~Hydrath I would appreciate it if you quit with the remarks and I was thinking to myself~, he said to his dragon.

Christae shook her head. "You'll see when P'ren gets back. You won't want to train then. Neither will D'ran. You will be so tired you will only have enough energy to fall asleep in your own beds instead of over your dinner."

"Oh come now Christae stop trying to chase away my trainees", he said to her with a smile. "K'dan enjoys training with me don't you", he asked.
"Oh yes loads of fun and it doesn't hurt a bit", he said sarcastically.
