K'dan caught G'han when he was about to fall again. "The guy can handle a renegade attack but not having a baby", he said jokingly. When G'han came and hugged everyone and jumped up and down in excitememtn he had come over to K'dan and hugged him. "G'han you are squeezing me let go", he said as his face seemed to turn blue. When G'han let him go he sat down on a nearby chair and took in a deep breath. G'han was definently strong and training with him didn' ware down the bronzerider's strength either. He watched everyone congradulate the new parents.

D'ran came into the kitchens again. "You are still here," he asked. Aureth did not need much oiling and D'ran was soon done, though the others were still there. He walked up to G'han and K'dan and said, "G'han, I heard you were training with K'dan. I was wondering if I could join you."

"I don't think G'han is paying much attention. He just found out he will be a father. His weyrmate Rhia is with child. But I know he would be happy to have you train with him. Though I will warn you he is tough", K'dan said to D'ran.
G'han ran up to D'ran and hugged him, "I am going to have a baby". He let go and jumped around some more and hugged other people.
K'dan laughed at his friend's antics. HE had never seen him like this before.

D'ran blinked a couple times and finally slowly said, "Congrats."
D'ran looked at K'dan and smiled. "Tough? I have a diffrent view of tough," he said with a small grin.

K'dan didn't fully understand what D'ran meant. "You will see", he said to D'ran. He rubbed his shoulder a bit, remembering the training he had been doing with G'han.

"Gerenanth, we are NOT going to name our baby Gerenanth. G'han....what ARE we going to name the baby?" She looked up at him, pleased that he was so excited. "I thought you would be mad at me, or disappointed. That is why I didn't tell you. Also, I wanted to get the opinion of a healer but I was too sharding scared. You know how weyr gossip is."

G'han flung his arms around his weyrmate and kissed her on the cheek. "I am a bit disapointed that you didn't tell me but we are going to have a baby. But I am happy", he said to her. "I don't know we can think of a name later. Right now let's celebrate", he said. "To the soon to be parents", he said as he raised a glass of drink in the air.
K'dan looked to G'han, "To the parents". He then said to G'han, "D'ran would like to train with us".
"Sure he is welcome company but I am not easy", he said then said to D'ran, "You can ask K'dan". Oh come on why can't the little one be named after me. I thought you would consider it an honor. ~Gerenanth you are much too full of yourself my proud dragon~, he said.

"I didn't know if you would hate me. I was scared. That is why I didn't tell you. I just wore looser shirts to hide the bulge that was beginning to form. I knew you'd question that because I am always in top shape and I had been riding and exercising in my free time and running a lot of errands for Christae. I hope the past few days didn't harm the baby."
Rhia rose and got a pitcher of strong klah. They certainly needed it. She handed Christae and Sh'iron each a mug. Christae was just beginning to realize that she would be a mother. The Weyrwoman was not the prettiest girl around, but with the way her face practically glowed she was beautiful. Rhia smiled.
"Gerenanth love, your name is a fine, strong name for a dragon, but not for a human baby."

"Love I could never hate you. What would make you think such a fool thing", he said to her. "Oh yes in all the excitement I forgot. Congradulations weyrleaders", he said to them. He wondered if their children would become close friends both would be the same age and would probably be raised close together so maybe. Ok I understand. Gerenanth was satisfied enough by the compliment Rhia gave him. G'han shook his head, "Arrogant dragon".

“Congratulations,” R’dan said the Christae and Sh’iron. “And you two, too.” He said with a grin to Rhia and G’han. “Rhia, if you want, I could take over some of your work in farther away holds, it’d be easier than you having to fly straight.”

"I know it was silly of me G'han but you don't know how that feels." She didn't mention that one of her neighbors had beaten his wife when he found out that she was pregnant. Rhia had helped tend the woman's wounds. She wound up losing the baby too. "Gerenanth is a bronze so he has a reason to be arrogant."
Rhia looked relieved. "Thank you R'dan. That would be great. Christae always sends me on errands, not that I am complaining but I don't want to risk the baby's health. I just hope my going /between/ the past few days didn't hurt it." She placed a protective hand over her growing belly.

Christae smiled at R'dan from her seat on the stone floor of the kitchen. "Thank you R'dan. This is a fine place to be, sitting on the floor of the kitchens while the drudges are trying to cook." She laughed. "I would appreaciate your taking over Rhia's duties. I do not want to compromise her help but she is invaluable to me. I will also ask Nira. Really the work is too much for one rider but G'han often helped Rhia. If you need help just ask and I will send another rider. Come to me tomorrow and I will give you a list of places you have to go. Get your coordinates from Kaith or Mneith."

"It sounds as though you didn't trust me. I think I recall an experience not too long ago when we talked about trusting each other", he said to her. "Honey, we are having a baby. It is a wonderful thing", he said to her and continued, "I am not mad at you".

Rhia sighed. "I am sorry. I just didn't know what to think. I was confused and scared at the time." Her worried face broke into a smile. "At least now you know why Mneith was so worried about me. He was awake the night I realized it. I went look at the calendar and he came comfort me. I am glad you are not mad."

"It’s not a problem, Rhia.” R’dan said with a slight bow and grin. He turned to Christae and nodded, “I’ll come and get the list tomorrow and the coordinates. I must go now, I need to feed Jesseth.” The brownrider offered his congratulations again before turning to leave. ~So, what did you volunteer for?~ ~Whatever Rhia was doing for Christae, I really don’t know exactly but we’re going to be going between a lot so eat up today.~

Sh'iron took the mug and tanked Rhia. "Oh sorry Christae. You should be sitting in a chair." The man said with a laugh. The bronze rider helped Christae up then sat her down in a chair. Sh'iron stood behind the chair with a protective hand on her shoulder.

"I can't be mad at you. I just wish you would have trusted me enough to tell me. Surely even Mneith agrees that I wouldn't have gotten mad if you told me", he said to her.

Christae laughed at Sh'iron's protectiveness. He had always been careful with her but now she knew that would increase.
"Sh'iron, I am only three months pregnant. I won't be hurt by sitting on the floor for a bit."She turned her head to look at him, her eyes crinkling with amusement.
You're not going to fall on the floor again? Kaith's voice held a hint of worry.
"I don't think so love."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I told you that you were being silly that night that you woke up and saw your calendar. I knew before then that you had little ones growing in your belly. Mneith spoke so that G'han and the others could hear. Rhia looked puzzled for a second, had Mneith said plural? No, she was just being paranoid.
"You're right. That night you found me sleeping on the floor next to Mneith...he told me that I was being silly. I was thinking about how you reacted with the renegades and he told me that was a bad thing and this was a good thing." She chuckled. "Sometimes my dragon makes me wonder. He is so wise at times."
Thank you. Mneith's voice was smug.
G'han clinched his fist when she mentioned the renegade attack. "That was a bad thing. Those slimey cowards hurt you badly. This is different, this is a good thing", he said to her. He then realized something. Did Mneith say little ones. No way, could Rhia be having more than just one baby. He grew dizzy. "Um somebody catch me", he said right before he was about to fall. I agree with K'dan. He can handle a renegade attack but not having babies. Gerenanth laughed and said it to where everyone could hear.
"I would be glad to help." Nira replied. "I will be sure to come tomorrow morning." As Nira finished her sentance a loud bellow echoed through the weyr. Mine, I am very hungry. Siarath said as if she were a hatchling. Nira smiled, "I must go, Siarath is waiting. Goodbye." She waved before exiting the room.
-------------------------------------------------------
He is becoming very annoying. Reinath said to all as G'han fell for the second time recently. ~Yes, he is. He wants people to think so strong but he keeps fainting. It is a bit sad.~ She replied to Reinath with a sigh.
Sh'iron smiled down at Christae. "So! This is my first child that I know it is going to live!" He said. During the other flights which Myranenth had mated with, the green and gold riders had normally gotten pregnant. But the riders had all lost the babes due to going /between/. He didn't want to lose this one!
