He tickled her one last time then said, "I am tired now. We can pick up where we left off in the morning". A smile on his face as he held her close to him.

She smiled and then snuggled up closer to him. Mneith walked as quietly as he could into the weyr and lay down on his couch. He hoped the bronze would have enough room. Rhia sighed happily and closed her eyes. She was not asleep but she was completely relaxed.

Gerenanth came in and got on his couch. He looked over to Rhia and G'han. They look so happy together and so peaceful. G'han looked down at Rhia, this was his first night with his new weyrmate. He shifted a bit to get comfortable and fell asleep.

Rhia lifted her head and looked down at her weyrmate. She was glad that the lines of worry were gone from his face. She rubbed a hand on her own face, feeling the crows feet that had formed over the past turn. She hoped the Weyr would settle down. Everyone was getting worn out.

G'han tossed and turned. It was the nightmare again. He woke up screaming, "Father". He looked at Rhia hoping she hadn't noticed. He slipped out of bed and went to the ledge. The same nightmare again. You said it should have went away. ~It should have but I can't help it. I don't know whatever became of my family. Renegades, their very exsistance is enough to enrage me~, he said to his dragon. G'han settle down, everything is ok now. You have me and your new weyrmate Rhia, we are here for you. G'han looked at his dragon, ~Thankyou my friend. Sometimes you are wiser than you appear. Little upstart~. Hey. ~Deal with it, the name stuck~, he said. He returned to bed and snuggled back up to Rhia.

Rhia shifted in her sleep, but did not wake up. She had not been sleeping well but had never said anything. For the first time in weeks, her ribs did not ache. She had been more tired than she would admit and when she fell asleep she was out cold. She wake up when G'han left but she did curl up in a ball, missing his warmth. When he came back she shifted again, turning over to face the wall and uncurling from the ball.

G'han allowed Rhia to shift where she wanted to be then wrapped his arms back around her. ~I am glad I didn't desturb her~, he said. I am going to bed now G'han, goodnight. ~Goodnight my friend~, he responded. He fell back asleep.
(the next morning............)
G'han awoke the next morning. He looked down at Rhia, almost forgetting that they were weyrmates. He shook his head, shaking off any leftover grogginess. He said to her, "Good morning sunshine". He laid there waiting for her to awake to his words.

Rhia coughed slightly and then turned. She had been in the process of waking up but G'han's words startled her out of her sleep. She had forgotten that he had moved in with her. She twisted in his arms and rested her head on his chest. "Good morning." She said softly.

G'han looked at her and kissed her on top of the head. "I would love to stay like this forever but I need to bathe then get ready for the day", he said. He stayed with her a few more moments then got up and got ready. After he bathed he walked out on the ledge and stretched. He did some light exercises and then scratched his dragon'e eye ridges. He waited for Rhia.

Rhia smiled. "You bathed last night..." She trailed off and sighed. She rose to her feet and pulled her long hair back into a low runner-tail. She had some errands to run for Christae today. When G'han left she went into her bathing room and changed into her riding gear. She walked to her bed and say down while she pulled on the fleece-lined wher-hide boots. She shrugged into her riding jacket and picked up her helmet. She tucked it under her arm and grabbed Mneith's riding straps.
"Mneith, I will have to get a set of larger straps from the stores. You've stretched these too much."
Sorry Mine
"It's not yoyur fault your such a large brown." She sighed. "Good thing I paid Christae for a new set of straps. G'han I have to go down and get Mneith's straps and then I have to go to a few holds to give them notices about Thread."

G'han perked up, "Mind if I join you". He looked over to Rhia. "I don't have much to do anyway", he said.

Rhia smiled. "I would like that but you have to ask Christae."

"Gerenanth relay a message to Kaith asking her bonded if I can join Rhia and help her", he asked of his bronze. Gerenanth nodded an agreement. Kaith tell your rider that G'han wishes to go with Rhia and help her out. Oh and also he has big news to share with Chirstae. "Gerenanth I didn't tell you to say that. Why did you do that? Christae has enough to worry about right now", he said fussing his bronze. She should know. G'han sighed and agreed. "Fine we can tell her later", he said.

Christae looked up. She was in the process of eating her breakfast when Kaith relayed Gerenanth's message.
"Tell them that would be fine. I would prefer that Rhia have someone keeping an eye on her anyway."
Kaith relayed the message.
"Tell them that they had better eat a good breakfast. They will have a long day and going /between/ is tiring. They can tell me their news when they come down."

"You impudent bronze", G'han said. He turned his attention to his weyrmate, "Let's join Christae for breakfast. She is expecting some news thanks to Gerenanth. We need to eat up before we can go anyway".

Rhia nodded and slipped her jacket off. It would be too hot to eat in, even though winter was approaching. She slipped on Mneith and he flew down. She stopped just long enough to grab Mneith's new set of straps and then went into the Dining Cavern.

G'han followed Rhia and said to Christae, "We are weyrmates. I moved in with her last night". He sat by Rhia eating his breakfast. He waited for her response.

Christae looked up. She was suprised by G'han's bluntness, but not by the news. "It's about time the two of you admit your feelings." Christae smiled to take the sting out of her words.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rhia set down her helmet, jacket and riding straps. "G'han you're gonna have to go get your riding gear before we leave. That will give our food a bit of time to go down before we go /between/. Christae I took the new set of straps I bought from the stores. I paid for them the day after the caravan left if you remember." The brownrider walked to get some food, her boots clomping on the stone floor. She returned with a pitcher of klah and a drudge carrying rolls, porridge and other such things. She thanked the drudge and served herself, careful not to eat too much.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Thank you for telling me Rhia. I will make note of it when I get back into my office." Christae looked at G'han and said sternly. "Watch over her. Do not let her overdo it. She has only just been cleared to go /between/."

G'han ate enough to last him a whole day of going between. He said to Christae, "I will watch over her. No need to worry about that". He got his riding gear and prepared to go. He mounted onto Gerenanth and waited for Rhia. "Gerenanth you have gotten bigger. It took a little more effort to get on you than normal", he said to his dragon. "Soon enough you will be bigger than Mneith and he is one of the largest browns I have seen", he said to his dragon. Gerenanth gave a smug look, he liked the fact that he would be bigger than Mneith. When I am bigger than you, you can't call me a little upstart anymore. G'han gave a smirk. "You are bigger than me and I call you that", he said.

Rhia said goodbye to Christae and went to the Weyr Bowl where the dragons were waiting. While G'han got his riding gear Rhia shrugged into her jacket and helmet and put Mneith's straps on, adjusting them until they fit snugly but not too tight.
I doubt you will be bigger than me Gerenanth. You are already almost full grown and I am still quite a bit bigger than you.
Rhia just laughed. She stepped on to the forearm her brown offered her and swung up, settling her lean body between the last two neck ridges. She slipped her booted feet into the straps and clipped the safety strap around her waist, making sure it was snapped securely to her belt. She closed her jacket against the biting cold of /Between/. She gave the dragons the signal to rise. The watchdragon wished them luck and Rhia gave them the signal to go /between/ after making sure the dragons knew where they were going.
