Tikka set up a table in the Weyrbowl. She had sent messages to all riders and Weyrfolk saying that she would cut everyone's hair today.
Christae sat down in a chair and the little hairdresser trimmed the Weyrwoman's long hair. Christae had her cut her hair to her shoulders so that it would be easier to mess with. "Thank you Tikka."
"No problem at all Weyrwoman. I shall be taking care of everyone today." The small woman leaned forward. "Especially a certain young Candidate." She whispered for her Weyrwoman's ears only.
Tikka cleaned her scissors and combs and prepared for the next person. Already a few people were coming forward. She cut thier hair and waited for her prey to arrive.

K'dan looked at his hair. "I don't think it needs to be cut", he told G'han. He protested as G'han pushed him into getting his hair cut. "Why not get your hair cut then", K'dan said.
G'han pushed K'dan and said, "Next person getting a hair cut is right here". "I don't need a hair cut. My hair is short", he said running his hand through his short spikey black hair.

Tikka looked the boy over. "A little trimming won't hurt you lad. Don't worry, I won't mess up your hair." She placed an apron over the young rider and skillfully trimmed his hair.
"There ya go lad." She said, holding up a mirror. K'dan's hair was only a few centimenters shorter than before. "There was just a few split ends that needed to be cut out. Now any new growth will be healthy. Off ye go then lad."

G'han laughed and said, "You look sharp kid. I think Nike will like the new look. Why don't you go show her. I am sure she will adore you even more now".
K'dan hit the bronze rider on the shoulder, though he knew that the hit wasn't hard enough to hurt. He turned red when he mentioned Nike adoring him.

"You need a hair cut F'tan!" Nike said dragging the bronze rider by the arm to the table. "I'm fine Nike!" F'tan said. His hair did need cut. It came down to his shoulders. "You look like a girl! You're getting it cut!" The Healer said glaring at her friend.
The two were walking towards the table. F'tan being held by Nike's right hand. Her left arm was in a sling. The arm band thing didn't work really well, so she went back to the sling. The bronze rider sighed as he was pushed down into the chair by Nike. "Tikka, cut it close to his head. He needs it cut." The Healer said taking a step back to stand by K'dan. "Nice hair. G'han make you get it cut?" Nike said grinngin at the blue rider.
------------------------------
Malenie sighed as she stood outside, near the entrance of the Lower Caverens. Her long blond hair was to one side. "I could use a trim." She said to herself. Nakum was perched on her shoulder. "Well after F'tan is done. I will." The Candidate sighed and watched the bronze rider get his hair cut.

"Close cut eh Healer?" Tikka laughed at the dismay in the bronzerider's face. She whipped out her apron and fastened it around the F'tan's neck. Tikka began cutting. She left the bronzerider some length, but it was definately shorter. "How do you like that Master Healer? Or do you want me to subject him to a shorter cut?"
Christae stood a few feet away. "Morning Nike, F'tan. G'han I don't think your weyrmate will be mad at you if you get your hair trimmed a bit. I know she said she would be down here later for her own hair. Good morning K'dan."

Nike nodded and walked around the bronze rider. "A little shorter there. And there." She said pointing, then took a step back to stand nexk to Christae. "Hello Weyrwoman. And where is your fine Sh'iron today?" The Healer said with a low, sweeping bow.
Well Sh'iron at the moment was in his weyr, making plans to try and get the tithes from the major and minor Holds. But it still seemed very unlikely that they would give in to an 18-Turn old Weyrleader.

"Right you are Healer." She began snipping again. "There you are Bronzerider F'tan." Tikka brushed off the hair from his shoulders and removed her apron. "Next."
Christae smiled. "Last I saw he was still in our weyr. He has been hiding my papers from me lately. I dont think he likes me worrying over tithes and things like that." She smiled. "He is overprotective sometimes."

"Hello Tikka, how are you today?"Akki asked, grinning ear to ear in a devilish manner as she winked. Today was the day, the day they will get their revenge on Malenie. It occured during the night though that Malenie was the type of girl who didn't care about her hair, but she truly wished she was wrong. She slid in the chair and said, "Just a trim please. Any...interesting people come?". Sargon was perched on her lap, curiously looking at the scissors. "If he gets in the way just whack him a few times."Akki said watching her flitt be mesmerized by the scissors.

Tikka grinned. "Not yet." She leaned over and whispered in Akki's ear. "She is at the entrance to the Lower Caverns. She looks like she is contemplating getting a cut. I don't worry about flitts. My own Helo keeps them away." Sure enough, a small blue flitt appeared, chirping at Sargon. She fastened the apron around Akki's neck and began trimming the bluerider's hair. "There, that's you done."

G'han nudged K'dan. "Told you she would like it. You have to look sharp for your girl", he said to the weyrling, still messing with him. "Nah my hair is short, I like it the way it is. Short and spikey", he said to the weyrwoman.
K'dan nudged him back, a bit red and hoping Nike didn't hear that. "You like it, Nike", he asked a bit questionable about the new hair cut.

T'rin was in the presence of the woman doing the haircuts, but only at the insistence of Amparath. You look like a runner coming out of a hard winter, he said, pushing T'rin towards the crowd. It was rather true; T'rin's hair was long enough that his head was shaggy and the hair sometimes blocked his vision, especially when it was wet. However, it was still unruly, and stuck up-- though a bit subdued by the weight-- in places atop his head, making him look disheveled and untidy. He hung back when he reached the group, letting the bronze push him no more, though Amparath kept trying. ~I don't want it too short,~ he protested to his dragon, rather liking the longer black hair look on himself. You need it trimmed. Amparath was firm, and T'rin sighed.

D'ran walked slowly up on the insistence of Aureth. [glow=blue,2,300]Look how short they are getting it. They don't look like girls.[/glow]D'ran glared down at his Blue, moving the hair from his eyes. His hair /did/ go down to his shoulders but he was reluctant to cut it. The Harper just wasn't sure if he would like how it looked after the cut. Aureth glared up at his Mine and slowly walked towards Nike. Tell him he needs his hair to be shorter! ~Aureth!~ The Harper ran his hand through the top of his hair. Suni popped from /between/ and swooped down to D'ran's head. He picked up one strand and then hovered with it before dropping the lock of chocolate brown hair. He swooped around and landed on his bonded's shoulder, moving a bit of hair before sitting.

"Thanks."She said hopping out of the chair, ignoring Sargons furious chirps at the his bonded for standing up suddenly when he was in her lap. "Hopefully she'll decide she does need a cut, otherwise this plan was a bust. Good thing for back-ups!"She said, walking away as she remembered her own plan. She would never tie someone up, well she would but no dragon would sink low enough to eat her, but still it was something to fantasize about.

Kia abryptly sat up from her bed. She rubbed her neck; apparently her body was not expecting that. The Weyrling had been up late doing this and that, very late. She got into a pair of pants. As most, they were cut but half way down her shin. She had on a plain, white, button-up shirt. Kylath was up but she let her Mine sleep and just played with Tokagae. The dragon was not expecting her Mine to run out the door when she relayed Kaith's message: [shadow=red,left,300]Tikka is cutting everyone's hair so everybody should go to the Weyrbowl.[/shadow]Kylath took a second to gain her bearings and run after her Mine. Tokagae flew up and followed them. "A haircut that I probably needed more than anyone and I... I hope she hasn't packed up yet. [shadow=red,left,300]Mine, I told you already. She did not give the message /that/ long ago.[/shadow]"Who says you have a sense of time," Kia spat. She was still tired and when she was tired she was often cranky. Kia was always tired in the mornings, though. After not too long she wouldn't be anymore; it was just when she first woke up. Kia saw a small knot of people in the distance and sighed with relief. She skidded to a stop and before she knew it, had tripped over a rock and onto the ground. The girl got up, on her knees and one hand. She put her other hand on her chest and coughed a couple times to get the dirt from her throat. Kylath and Tokagae soon caught up and both seemed a little worried. [shadow=red,left,300]Mine, are you ok?[/shadow]Kia put her other hand down and made an almost hissing noise. She picked it back up and got up without it. The Weyrling gently rubbed her elbow and looked down at her knees. Just a few scraped but dirt got into them and it stung. Kylath gently nudged her Mine's shin. Kia nodded to Kylath and then whistled faintly. Tokagae landed on her shoulder and slowly swung his tail against her back. Kia staggered towards the others. She was still far away and it was unlikely they had seen her trip. As she came into view she straightened up and walked in a regular fashion. ~Don't say what happened.~ Kylath nodded to show she understood. Kia gave images to Tokagae of not talking and not telling Ruanth. She had heard Ruanth could talk with the fire lizards.

"Hi, Kia," T'rin said, happy to see the copper rider. She was really the only other weyrling to talk to him like he was a person or even there, and he'd been alone here with the annoyed Amparath trying to push him closer to Tikka. Micra chirped a greeting to Tokagae while Amparath simply said, Kylath, politely.

Kylath bent over very slightly to Ampareth and nodded. Kia smiled when she saw Ampareth was pushing him closer. With her good arm, Kia gently pushed his closer to the waiting Tikka. "It seems Ampareth hear says it's time for a cut," Kia said with a smile and a shrug. She pushed him yet closer to the chair and pressed down on his shouldersmso he would sit. Kia held her other hand out to Micra, seeing if the flitt would come to be out of the way.

R’dan leapt off Jesseth and strode off to the Weyrbowl where the haircuts were being given. He’d gotten his duties done earlier today so he would be able to get his hair trimmed. Jesseth flew to his ledge and settled down for a nap in the warm sun. The brown rider pulled his riding helmet off when he reached the bowl, he probably should have dropped it, and his riding jacket off at his weyr but it was too late now. He’d just have to hang onto them. There were more people in the Weyrbowl than he thought there would be. He searched for anyone who looked particularly upset about their haircut and saw no one, so he assumed that he had not missed the exciting bit. R’dan spotted Akki and waited for her to leave the chair before walking over. On his way over to Akki he passed Kia who was talking to T’rin, “Hey Kia,” he said with a wave, “hello T’rin.” Finally R’dan made it over to Akki, “Hi Akki,” he said smiling, “Nice hair cut, has you-know-who received their’s yet?” He asked in a whisper. He still hadn’t encountered Malenie so he still had no idea what she looked like.
