D'ran was milling about, minding his own business when Suni came happily flying in. D'ran scratched the flitt's eye ridges. Suni was a very good flyer now. Flying not too far after was Tokagae who quickly flew to Kia's shoulder and wrapped his tail around her neck. Suni simply sat on D'ran's shoulder.

As a friend, of course, he replied. At least at first. She does not seem to have any friends or family here. It is not healthy.
T'rin did hear this part of the conversation. ~Who? Who would be a friend only at first? What?~ He was rather confused. ~What do you mean?~
Amparath snorted. We are speaking of Miya, of course. You are already fond of her. The bronze then said to Reinath, He is fond of her. He would like to be her friend.
~Amparath!~ T'rin cried helplessly. ~She's not supposed to know that..~
Do not worry, Mine. It will turn out well. The bronze rubbed his triangular head against T'rin's hand. Have you not noticed that 'Miya' is only two letters different from 'mine' Admin's Note:[/hr][/color] Looking smug, Amparath turned from his rider.

That is because my mine is better than her family and friends. The gold said, making up her own excuse. Mine. She spoke to Miya only. T'rin likes you. Reinath told Miya. "What!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" She shouted aloud as she heard her bonded. She didn't realize that Reinath meant as a friend and Reinath didn't understand why her mine was so upset. "What!" Miya shouted again as she looked over at T'rin.

T'rin jumped in his seat and managed not to redden when Miya yelled.
~Amparath....~ he whined in his mind. ~Couldn't you have stopped her?~ He had the sudden urge to cover his face but instead spoke to Miya as if he didn't know what she was talking about.
"What? What's wrong?" He put a concerned look on his face, which wasn't entirely fake, because he was concerned what Reinath had told Miya.
Amparath was laughing a dragonish laugh. Silly humans, he teased. Always overreacting. He butted T'rin's hand affectionately to show he was only teasing.

"What in the world did Amparath tell Reinath . She just told me you liked me!" She shouted obliviously. "Are you playing some kind of joke on me?" she asked T'rin angrily. "Do you think this is funny, too?" She shouted noticing that Amaparath was laugh.

T'rin was careful how he replied, as Miya was obviously very upset. "I am not playing a joke," he assured her. "I meant as a friend, and I know that Amparath did, too. I think maybe one of you two," he gestured, indicating Miya and Reinath, "misunderstood. I am sorry that it wasn't explained more carefully." He smiled. "It's most likely my fault."

Miya glared at Tayrin. Karie and Tonu popped in from between and landed on Miya's shoulders. Who are they! Reinath demanded. ~My firelizards Tonu and Karie.~ She replied pointing to the firelizard as she said it's name. What your Reinath isn't good enough for you! The dragon snorted angrily. ~I got them before you. Stop acting jealous.~ She told her dragon. I am not jealous. The dragon insisted.

Despite Miya's glare, T'rin was relieved. Now she was focused on her fire-lizards. And speaking of fire-lizards...
T'rin summoned his green Micra back to him. She appeared, gliding lazily over to him and alighting on his shoulder. He stroked her soft hide, which he noticed needed oiling. As a new hatchling, she would need oiling as much as Amparath. Absently rubbing her with the oil leftover from Amparath, he said aloud, "Amparath, this is Micra. I Impressed her about a sevenday ago. She is still young."
Micra crooned happily as T'rin reached an especially itchy spot. He sent her loving and praising feelings and scratched her eyeridges. She stretched her head out to rub T'rin's face, and noticed Amparath on the ground by his feet. She warbled inquisitively, sending questions to both the bronze and his rider. "That is Amparath," he told her.
She is very small, commented Amparath, and her hide is not as handsome as mine. But I like her. Micra seemed to understand this, for when T'rin finished oiling her, she went to land on Amparath, warbling and chirping at him. T'rin looked up from the strange pair to watch Miya's firelizards.

((Ack...you guys went wild with this))
Christae closed her eyes and leaned against Sh'iron for a few moments before rising and straightening out her gown. She took a shawl from a chest to keep the chill off her bare shoulders and waited for her weyrmate. "They will be wondering where we are." She exited their weyr and walked quickly to where the hatching feast was. The drudges had only set out appetizers, waiting for the rest of the guests to arrive.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rhia fussed with her hair. She had already applied cosmetics to her flinching face. A drudge entered. "Allow me Wingsecond Rhia." She said and sat the brownrider down. When she was finished Rhia gave the girl a mark, ignoring her protests. Soft curls fell from a bun atop her head.
"Thank you. " She smoothed her sapphire blue gown and then walked out of the weyr, taking the stairs two at a time in her black leather slippers. She entered the caverns a few minutes before Christae and Sh'iron.
"Forgive my lateness. I had difficulties. She guestured to her hair. She went to sit down at the table reserved for the Weyrleaders, Wingleaders and Wingseconds.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Christae entered and moved to the head of the table. She raised her hands for silence, preparing to give a speech of congratulations.
"Welcome all to Dark Moon Weyr on this happy occasion. Your sons and daughters, our friends and family are the reason why we are having this feast. It is in honor of their Impression and the birth of our healthy dragonets that we gather here tonight. It is my hope that if there is a grudge that we put aside our differences to celebrate this great event. Hope has returned to our Weyr and our young people are now bonded to the great creatures that protect us from the deadly thread. Enjoy the company and enjoy the feast! Congratulations to the newly Impressed and their proud families!"

Kia and D'ran both quieted down quickly whenChristae began her speech. The two firlizards quieted too and their dragons watched with anticipation.

Nervously, K'rael entered the place where the feast was to be held, with his blue Ioneth. The new Weyrling was more than nervous at meeting his peers. He was terrified. He had never been social, but at this point had worked himself into quite a state of agitation. Even Ioneth's reassurances couldn't convince him that everything would be all right. The blue probably was correct, but he hadn't convinced His. Despite the fact that before Impression (and even during the Hatching) he had gained a bit more confidence...That couldn't completely wipe away the terror that large gatherings such as this inspired in him. It had always been this way, from what he remembered.
So, extremely awkward in his thread-worn feast wear, the young man took a tentative step into the crowded room, noting the knots of other new Weyrlings with their dragonets, conversing earnestly. The Weyrwoman had already, he saw, addressed the gathering. That meant, he realized with dread, that he had arrived late. Late! Of all the times to do so! At his side, Ioneth snorted. Mine, you can be singularily ridiculous he declared with some exhasperation. They will not hurt you...but I might if you dont get moving! Startled by this uncharacteristic speech from his blue, he nodded before realizing what he had done. He would have rathered do anything but join them...but like a canine, Ioneth hearded K'rael over, having taken his nod for assent, and he stood in the background, shuffling, and staring at his boot-tips.

You are always late. Siarath stated. ~I know.~ Nira replied with annoyance. She ran into the dining room just in time to hear the Weyrwomans speech. She clapped at the end. She wore a dark green dress that was thing and went down to her ankled
----------------------------------------------
Miya turned to listen to the speech. When she says that we are celebrating the hatchlings they mean me right? Reinath asked. ~Yes bonded, for you.~ Miya nodded still upset for misunderstanding the message about T'rin.

Christae smiled as K'rael entered. She knew that he was nervous about being late. She left her table to mingle with the guests. Drudges walked around with platters of appetizers. She approached the new Weyrlings.
"Allow me to offer my congratluations. I would like to inquire after those were mauled. I apologize if I am not as familiar with your names as I should be. K'dan, I remember, and Kia and Miya. The rest of you, your names slip my mind at the moment."

T'rin secretly agreed with Weyrwoman Christae about the grudges. He could already see them beginning to form and he didn't like it. If the Weyr was to do well, then its riders would have to be able to work together smoothly. As he stroked Micra, who had crawled back onto his shoulder, he noticed K'rael had just entered the room.
"K'rael!" he cried, gesturing. "Come over here, with the rest of us!" He grinned at the new bluerider.
Christae had come over to the table and he said, "I am Tayr-- er, T'rin. It is nice to meet you." He bowed from his seat.

B’gin bowed slightly to Kia before B’kin pushed him over to where the other riders sat. “Go over there and lose your marks or something, your not a Weyrling you can’t sit here.” He sighed with relief as B’gin actually listened to him. He wondered why until he heard Christae start her speech. “Sorry about my brother, Kia.” B’kin muttered before sitting down to listen to the speech.

K'rael promptly turned bright red, as he saw (after the Weyrwoman's speech) that she was now heading over to the new Weyrlings. It's only logical Ioneth reminded him patiently, and at this reminder, the weyrling grew even redder. Hearing T'rin's cry, he glanced up, and a faint smile flickered across his features, before promptly vanishing. Trying (in vain) to smooth his unruly brown hair, he joined the other Weyrlings, looking with awe at the little queen, and the bronze who had Impressed T'rin after he had left. His own blue regarded the latter with faint interest, and inclined his head (as well as a dragonet could do) to his clutch siblings.
Nervously, K'rael took a seat with his peers, and glanced around with an attempt at indifference...and failing. When Christae inquired of their names (saying that they slipped her mind, or something courteous along those lines) and offered congratulations, the blue-weyrling (who had paled to a more normal hue again) promptly reddened once more. "Kazr...I mean, K'rael," he muttered with a nod of greeting to the Weyrwoman. How on Pern was he supposed to speak normally with the highest ranking woman in the weyr around? His gaze was glued to his plate, and Ioneth, at his side, looked clearly exhasperated with his Chosen.

Kia smiled faintly as B'kin got his brother to leave. "Not a problem," she said. She blushed a little, it was sooo odd! She couldn't stand it when she was flirted with. Kia looked to Christae when she came and smiled. "How's it going, Christae," she asked. [shadow=red,left,300]That is the Weyrwoman, right?[/shadow]~Yes~ ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~ D'ran nodded at Christae and said, "D'ran here with Aureth." Christae smiled encouragingly at K'rael and the others. "It is a pleasure to know you T'rin, K'rael. D'ran, I remember you. Might I say that Aureth is a fine looking blue. T'rin, K'rael, I don't believe I know your dragons' names. Kia, congratulations on Impressing this beautiful young dragon. I believe everyone is calling her a copper? Her name please?" Christae was all courtesy. Her eyes danced with amusement.

Kia happily said to Christae, "This is-," but she was cut off for the dragon insisted on introducing herself this time. Kia was not happy last time when she would introduce herself. [shadow=red,left,300]I am Kaylath![/shadow] She walked to the Weyrwoman and looked happily up at her.

B’kin looked up when the Weyrwoman inquired their names, “I’m B’kin, and that’s Ronoth,” he said pointing to the bronze dragonet that was watching B’gin as if he were guarding his mine.
-~-~-~-~-~-~ R’dan slipped into the Lower Caverns just as Christae was finishing her speech. He hoped she didn’t spot him coming in late. ~I wish I could be at the feast.~ Jesseth said. R’dan grinned, ~Even you’re too big to fit in here Jesseth, there wouldn’t be room for anyone else.~
