Christae had ordered that the drudges serve the dragonriders and candidates for the evening meal. She had also ordered that the tables be set together so that rider and candidate would be sitting around as equals. The tragedy was still fresh in all their minds but the feeling of companionship would probably help them.
Christae absently stroked the bright bronze flitt on her arm. The little creature watched the comings and goings of the drudges. She would have to oil the bronze flitt's hide soon.

G'han, Rhia, and Kadan were already there for the dinner. Kadan had did his little errand for the weyrwoman by calling the others to dinner. All waited patiently for them to gather around. Kadan was excited, he would get to spend time with everyone at the weyr and get to know everyone better. He looked over to G'han and Rhia, the two fixated on each other like a new couple would be. He nodded his head and looked to the entrance waiting to see who would show up.

R’dan finally made his way from the lake to the Lower Caverns. He was thankful that they, he and Kia, weren’t the last to arrive. He noted that the candidate’s table and the dragonriders’ tables were pushed together, well now they could sit together and he’d hopefully be able to get to know the other candidates better. The brownrider sat down and glanced towards the entrance of the Lower Caverns to see if Akki had arrived yet.

(You are soooo lucky. I live in Florida and it doesn't snow here. Not since 1982 or something like that.)
Miya walked into the room. A green firelizard sitting on her left shoulder, and a brown firelizard on her right. As she sat down the two moved strands of Miya's black hair out of the way and looked around the cavern, both inspecting the others in the room.

Hurry. Siarath intruded as Nira ran into the room.
"Sorry I am late." she said assuming she was late. A gold firlizard was nesteled in her arms looking around but taking little interest in the other people. She was more interested in the other firelizards.

Kia walked in happily. Tokagae excitedly studied all the people and flitts. Kia looked at R'dan with relief, they weren't late. She wondered when Akki would come. Kia pointed to three empty seats. "Let's sit there," she said to R'dan. They stood at almost the same height, R'dan perhaps half an inch taller than her. She sat down and prepared to watch the seat next to her. They had promised to save one for Akki. ooc|| Daran can't come because he is neither a rider or candidate  haha |

"Don't worry you aren't late", G'han said snapping out of his gaze.

Sharan flew back to Kadan's shoulder. Kadan looked to see all the people arriving. He looked at Nira as she came in assuming she was late. After a few seconds he redirected his gaze towards the door again seeing who would come throught next.

Nira smiled at G'han. "Thankyou." She said politely.
We are actually not late! Siarath joked.
Nira almost burst out laughing and her queen flitt flew onto the table. She hobbled around a bit before flying back intoNira's lap.

Rhia had been walking around the far side of the cavern, just to pass the time. When the others started arriving she walked over to the table and sat down next to G'han. Her green flitt was perched unsteadily on her shoulder. When she sat the silvery green creature waddled down her arm to hop onto the table. It walked up to Christae to study the little bronze on the Weyrwoman's arm and then turned to see the other flitts.
"What did you guys name your flitts? I haven't thought of one yet."

Christae smiled at Rhia's flitt. "I haven't figured one out yet for mine either." The bright bronze flitt studied Rhia's green and then resettled his wings.

Akki slid into the room saying "I'm not late! I have been here the entire time!" before winking at Kia and sitting near her friends, Sargon following surveying the flitts that seemd to surround him. He was intrigued and happier about the fact there were flitts coming out of every nook and cranny. [glow=teal,2,300]You are late[/glow]Ebbeth pointed out matter of factly before Akki replied If you want them to beleive a lie, say it with confidence. She of course did not say hers with confidence, but that was besides the point.

Kia grinned as her friend sat down. "Of course you're not late," she said sarcastically, "I mean, you were even here early." She looked to see if anyone else was coming.

"Really? Well, I am truly not the latest one? It's a record!"She exclaimed as she slumped into her chair, exhaling loudly. She had run quickly in order to get here, which was quite hard when one was ignoring the fact her dry clothes were rubbing against her still damp body. It's swimmings fault She said to Ebbeth, laughing slightly but silently.

“You’re not late Akki, or the last person here. I don’t see Breckin.” R’dan said as he glanced about looking for him. He had remembered to show the candidate where the Lower Caverns were hadn’t he? As if to answer that question the boy slipped into the Lower Caverns making a much quieter arrival than Akki. Breckin waved at R’dan and sat a few seats down from him.

G'han smiled, "I named mine Azure. Rhia helped with the name", he said. The blue flitt was sleeping on G'hans shoulder and didn't notice Sharan come and go. He awoke when he was mentioned and looked around at the other flitts. He crawled over to Rhia's green to inspect it more closely. He soon came back to rest on G'han's shoulder still eyeing the other flitts.

Akki blinked as she watched Breckin come in quietly. Another person she had not met, that must have made at least three. "I am such a loner!"Akki said, although she thought that was something she only said in her head. [glow=teal,2,300]Pardon? Are you going insane?[/glow] Ebbeth asked, surprised that Akki blurted that out. "Hm? Did I say that aloud?" She asked.

"I wonder if Daran knows he's welcome here." Christae said. "We could use some entertainment and his company would be most agreeable." Christae thought for a moment.
"I think I will name my flitt Birinj. I was reading some of the old scrolls and there were some references to the legendary Terra and there were a few words. That one meant bronze."

Daran walked in a little uneasyily. He had heard from a drudge he should come but he wasn't sure if the drudge was speaking the truth. He looked in and walked slowly. Hoping Christae would see him and welcome him in.

G'han looked over to Akki, "Oh I wouldn't say that. Loners normally don't have friends". He started to remember how it was just before he came to the weyr. He was quiet and kept to himself. He shook the memory away and smiled, he had friends now and everything was different than it was back then.

Akki tossed her head back and laughed before saying to R'dan, "That is not exactly what I meant and I could not ask for better companions! I said that because it seems like every time I turn around there is someone I have no met". [glow=teal,2,300]Am I your companion?[/glow] Ebbeth asked curiously. No, you are much more than a friend to me and I hope you will never forget that. Akki got no reply but heard a samll noise of distinction from Ebbeth, making it clear he would never forget.

Daran sighed with relief when Christae called to him. He sat near he, not knowing many people here. His bronze flitt sat on his shoulder happily. The fire lizard was a bit behind because he had some trouble flying. Daran had been thinking long and hard for a name. Sudenlly it came to him, Suni. He didn't know how he thought of it but he liked the name.
