How does one lose themself in a Weyrbowl? Well, with Kazrael, anything's possible...
A young man -newly dropped off at Dark Moon- stood in the center of the Weyrbowl, looking rather bewildered as he stared about with a dark green gaze that seemed more focused on some other place than it was his current surroundings. Shaggy, dark brown hair framed rather feminine features, and his hands were twisted in the hem of his plain brown tunic, features furrowed in puzzlement. He ought to have known where he was, of course. Though he had only just been deposited here to stand as a candidate at the new Clutch, Kazrael had been a candidate at several others in the past, so Weyrbowls were not new. It even looked familiar, so he knew that he had been here before...but since he did not know where he was, therefore, he mustn't have actually noted it. Kazrael pivoted, so that he was looking the opposite direction, eyes scanning the smooth walls for signs of an entrance, or exit. Of course, by some miracle, he managed to overlook the many gaping entrances into the Weyr; his eyes simply sliding over. Now he scowled, extremely confused. This was a Weyr. He had been in Weyrs before. How difficult was it, to get oneself lost? Well, apparently, not very

Adrian had also just been dropped off and she saw a young man who had gotten off of a dragon. She was very lost and need some comfort. She could get angry very easily. "Hello, my name is Adrian." said Adrian as she walked over to the man. She twiriled her finger in her hair and looked directly into his eyes. "You must be a candidate like myself." said Adrian. "I'm not sure where to go at the least," "would you like to try and lead us to the main weyr?" asked Adrian. She held out her hand into a direction she though was the right way.

Kazrael was, to put it bluntly, rather the opposite of social. Thus he was extremely surprised when confronted by a young woman, presumably a fellow candidate. "Uh..." Master of the single syllable response, was he. Awkwardly, he stared down at the toes of his boots, and then glanced up at her warily. "Hi?" His tone was very cautious, as he dipped his head in greeting. "I'm Kazrael." The latter was one of the longest things he had ever said, for he couldn't escape the length of his name. His gaze dropped again, and he studied his boots again, very awkwardly. "Uh...sure?" He stared at the wall behind her head, eyes large. Was she really speaking to him? It was, he thought absently, the first time a girl ever had, other than to sneer down her nose at him.

Adrian was very surprised at his reaction. She went up to him very slowly. "Are you ok?" she asked him. "It's very nice to meet you Karzrael." said Adrian. "I think we will be the best of friends." said Adrian. "You just need to get out there and experience the world." "so get on moving, I'm sure the weyrwoman is expecting us." said Adrian. He just looked down at his shoes, so she started pushing him, he was very strong, but had no bone structure or fat on him. He was a very good specimen. She kept on going trying to make him go on by himself.

Kazrael tensed as the young woman neared him, glancing nervously up at her. Why wasn't she leaving him alone? At the best of times, Kaz was considered shy. At the worst, he was considered not only anti-social, but surly and unapproachable...and more. He pushed back a shaggy strand fo dark brown hair, dark green gaze anxious as she continued to speak. "I should be," he said weakly, at last, tone slightly more surprised than the monotone one which he had been using. "Kazrael, not Karzrael," he corrected after a moment, brows lowering. Even he could be moved to speak when he had to...was the Weyr already getting to him, that he could speak so much to a complete stranger? Her last comment drew a soft chuckle out of him. Get out and see the world? How many times had that been said. His brothers -the complete opposite of himself; rather than small and stocky, they were tall and trim- had always declared it was all he needed. He, on the otherhand, had thought otherwise. But he didn't mention this to the girl, who seemed very eager to make a friend in this new, somewhat forbidding place, just smiling weakly. "The...Weyrwoman?" He had started shuffling forward at her prodding, and now drew to an abrupt stop, an unmistakable look of fear passing briefly over his features.

Kia walked happily into the Weyrbowl. Christae had said new candidates would be coming. Kia saw a young man and woman talking, a bit far away. She straightened her clothes and looked straight. Trying to keep herself "professional" she opened her hand infront of her face and closed it, like you would do to tell someone to be quiet. As her hand closed her head went slightly down and her mouth was a straight line. She walked up to them and said in an almost monotone way, "I am Kia, welcome to Dark Moon Weyr." She didn't want to scare them off already.

Rhia walked out of her weyr and ran lightly down the stairs. Her weyrmate was busy so she was taking the time to get out and get some fresh air. Her dragon rested on the fireheights. She noticed Kia and a couple of newcomers.
Many new people had begun to arrive, especially after Kaith had flown. It seemed strange to view her friend as the Weyrwoman. But then again, who would have thought she would be a Wingsecond.
"Morning Kia. How are you doing today? Where is Tokage?" Gylfie, Rhia's silvery-green flitt was curled around her neck, a living scarf.
"Welcome to Dark Moon." She told the newcomers. "I take it you are Candidates. I am Rhia, Wingsecond, rider of brown Mneith, weyrmate to Wingleader G'han of bronze Gerenanth. You don't have to remember all that, Just Rhia of brown Mneith is fine."

G'han came from between having been running some errands for Christae. As he looked down he noticed Kia, Rhia and some new faces. He told Gerenanth to land and lept off. He went over to the new candidates, "Hello, I am G'han rider of bronze Gerenanth over there, weyrmate to Rhia. Whom I assume you have met".

Kia smiled as Rhia and G'han walked up. Just as Rhia mentioned Tokagae's name he flew up, completely out of breath. He struggled to get up on Kia's shoulder and wrapped his tail around her nexk, a trait he took from Sargon. Tokagae had been flying around before the candidates came and was tired before Kia even started running to the Weyr Bowl. She giggled and scratched her flitt's eye ridges.

Kazrael had been startled by Aidrian's approach. As another young person drew near, and introduced herself as Kia, he paled, glancing around in a 'cornered' sort of way. When yet another person approached, introduced, and welcomed them to the Weyr, He started to back away slightly, dark green gaze slightly wild. Trying to smooth the fear from his features -Kazrael was not one to enjoy making a bad impression on people, even though he rarely noticed- he saw from the corner of his eyes a man approaching. The youth's features were now near white, but he smiled weakly, and nodded.
Confronting one stranger in a day was bad enough, but 4, as well as a new place? Uncertainly, he took a deep breath, smoothing his plain tunic, and brushing back a lock of unruly brown hair. "I'm Kazrael," he stated after a moment, eyes fixed on his boots. Did he have to look up? Oh, certainly it was the 'polite' thing to do, but he was never one to care what was ettiquette. His hands, clenched on the hem of his tunic, were white knuckled. "My pleasure to meet you all." This Weyr was already influencing him, he was sure. Since when had he spoken such long phrases? Very nervously, he smiled at the three; two riders and one...a fellow candidate?

G'han looked at the nervous boy. It seemed he was the type that didn't take to strangers. "I would get use to people coming up and talking to you. At Darkmoon we are very friendly people. We are like one big family here. So just relax, you will do fine here", he said trying to ease the frightened boy.

((*shrugs* Uh...is that up to me?))
Kazrael tried to force another smile onto his pale features, and nodded slightly, shifting his weight onto the other foot. "I can try, sir," he mentioned timidly, gaze never leaving his boots. Of course, he would have to look up at some point. Just...not now, perhaps. At the moment, he cared not that it was 'rude.' Speaking to one, or two, new people at a time was overwhelming enough, but _four?_ Well, if he was to be a rider (if he ever succeeded in what he had failed so many times before) then he would have to get over it. Nervously, he glanced up at them, with a tentative (almost shy) smile, that didn't particularily reach his emerald gaze. Had he at least been around the Weyr a bit, he might have been more at ease in confronting these three, but then, one could never tell. Kazrael shifted again, and resumed staring at the ground under his boot.

G'han nearly choked when he called him sir. "Please no need for that besides it makes me feel old. You can call me G'han", he said. "It's fair to warn you that random people will come and talk to you", he said laughing at particular people he had in mind.

Rhia smiled. "It's ok to be nervous." She slipped an arm around her weyrmate.
~Mneith, tell G'han that his approach is scaring the boy more. He's not used to people being so friendly.~
Her dragon relayed the message and then went back to his nap. "If you two would have come a sevenday ago you could have seen the clutching." The brownrider kept her voice soft.
"I can take you to see the eggs if you want. Kia, you can come with us. That is where Christae is right now with Kaith. I think the eggs might be hard enough to touch in another sevenday or so, but you can go see them. She had a pretty big clutch for her first one, and a Queen egg!"

Kia looked confused. She was not familiar with hatchings. "What is the significance of touching? Just to do it...," she asked, quietly. It was quiet enough for Rhia too be the only one who could really hear it. She was embaressed. She hated when she whispered something to her parents because she didn't want everyone to hear and then have them practically shouting the answer. Her cheeks grew pink with her question.

"Umm...sure?" Kazrael ventured timidly, with a tiny -real- smile flickering across his features, and abruptly vanishing once more. He wasn't sure what he had replied to, whether the remark that it was okay to be nervous -rather the opposite of what he had been informed before- or to address a bronzerider by his name.
"Seen the clutching?" Kazrael had attempted to stay within the single syllable responses that he usually used, but there was...so much to say here, much to his surprise! He was silent briefly, eyes flickering up from his boots, and sweeping over the girl -Kia- and the two riders. That would have been something. In the weyr that he had been in before, Candidates had never been permitted into the 'Sands until the eggs were hard enough to touch, and near Hatching. However, except for the brief, wistful look that passed across his feminine features, one never would have known the thoughts that had occupied his mind just then. With a glance over at Aidrian -and quick realization that she wasn't going to reply- Kazrael brightened visibly. This would be the first time he would be allowed to see a clutch before the Hatching, and even the possibility of meeting the Weyrwoman didn't scare him off.
"Could you?" His tone was timid, but there was a supressed enthusiasm in it that was not familiar to any who had ever heard Kaz speak before. "I mean...that would be wonderful," His gaze, which had become brilliant green, and fixed boldly on the speaking rider's features, dropped again, though he continued to glance over at Aidrian, Ria and G'han.

Kia smiled gently. She moved her hand out and closed and opened it, telling him to com. "Let's go to the Sand," she said. She took a few steps towards them and waited for the others to follow.
