Tayrin grinned right back at his new friend. "Of course not," he said as an aside, so Miya wouldn't hear. "Wouldn't want to scare her off, though I know that's not likely going to be the problem." He chuckled. "I wouldn't be surprised if she refuses to even just talk to me for the next several sevendays."

"I don't think she's the type to be scared off but I think I would agree that she might not talk to you for awhile", he said. He looked over to Miya, she had a disgusted look on her face. He turned away to look at the eggs and laughed.

Kia looked over the eggs again, wondering which held the dragon she would bond with. She was being a bit optimistic, not thinking of not getting a dragon. When she heard Kadan comment about being gullible she couldn't help but laughh. "You were rather gullible at the lake during that race," she said, recalling the time. She proceeded to listen to their conversation and bit her tongue to hold back a laugh at Tayrin's excuse.

Daran was sucked into the clutching again, his eyes focused. At first, when Kaith ignored the smaller eggs he wondered about their fate but he was soon thinking of Kaith's newest egg or which egg would go to which candidate.

"I merely made the mistake of underestimating G'han. A mistake I have learned from", he said to Kia. "I guess I was wrong for cheering you on though, seeing as how you seem to like to poke fun at me", he said with a smile on his face.

Miya didn't reply right away. "Okay." she said slowly as her gaze left the boy and to the eggs. She heard whispering but couldn't make out the words, so she simply ingored them, examining the many dragon eggs. Wondering which one would hatch into the hatchling that she would impress.

Rhia turned her head and murmered. "I'm going to go up to my weyr. Will you give Christae my congratulations and express my regrets for not staying to watch Kaith lay her last egg?" She stepped away from G'han. Her face had taken on a grayish tone. She had pushed herself too far on the first day she was allowed /between/. She said goodbye to the Candidates and other riders and slowly made her way to the Weyr Bowl.

Christae sent loving thoughts to her beloved Queen. Kaith produced an egg swirled with blue and green and went to readjust her other eggs. The gold kept muttering to herself in her mind and Christae laughed, pleased to be allowed to hear every thought of such a great creature.

G'han smiled at Rhia, "Our weyr and I will go as well". He congradulated Christae and apologized to her for not staying longer. He left soon after and went to their weyr.

Sh'iron nodded. "This hatching will help us all. But Mabey not Nike." The Weyrleader said nodding to the former Green Rider. Myranenth crooned as his mate layed more eggs. He was so proud of her! And himself!
------------------------
Nike swallowed hard as more and more eggs were being layed. Her eyes were still on the small, gray egg. That was her favorite, she would like to see what color it hatched, and who it Impressed.

Kia sighed, the dragon seemed to only care for her golden egg. Sure, she rearranged the rest but she didn't care much for them or at least not as much. Some eggs the Queen payed no attention to whatsoever and some very little or very much. Kia looked at the couple pushed away or touched just once, they were like herself and her family. The ohers were like the Hold. Kia couldn't help but remember her life at home. She felt Tokage squirm in her grasp, wanting to inspect the eggs. Kia firmly ssaid no and then returned to watching.

Akki quickly appeared near everyone else, only to be flooded with accusations of Ebbeths, saying that she was very late. "Sorry I am late! And congratulations!"She cried to Christae as she smiled at Kia, who was watching the eggs intensely.

Kia sudenlly came out of her transe-like state when her friend came. "Hello," she said after scribbling the description of an egg that had recently been dropped on the sands. She smiled and made sure not to be too sucked into the clutching.

Christae nodded her agreement. "It will take a long time for her to heal. The grief of losing Tirith almost killed her." Christae waved a welcome to her friends and turned to watch Kaith drop yet another egg onto the scorching sands.

Miya quickly grew bored of eggs randomly bieng layed on the hot hatching sands. She looked over at Tayrin. ~Why was that boy looking at me. He does it often but why?~ She asked herself. She had a slight idea of why but brushed it off not wanting to just assume that was the reason.
-----------------------------------------------------
Nira on the other hand only stared at every egg layed. Examining each one with her dark brown eye, wondering what color dragon would hatch. ~What would they look like, would they be healthy, which would hatch first, and who would they impress?~ Do not fret, mine. You will find out at the hatching. ~I can't wait that long~ Nira admitted with a sigh.

Akki glanced at the wondrous eggs and Kaith, who was surely proud of them. For each egg that was laid, it drew the attention of someone else. It seemed like every egg had someone wanting or admiring it for its beauty.

Kadan looked out at the eggs. Not wanting a particular one just hoping to impress was on his mind. He looked over to notice Akki enter, he nodded at the bluerider and saw Nira as well. He greeted her with the same nod and redirected his attention back at the eggs.

Kaith took the time to go over her eggs again. Shifting them once again and then pausing to lay yet another egg.

Nike watched the eggs, wondering which egg would hatch which color. But her eyes wandered to the small, gray egg, and the golden egg. She knew that one of the females would Impress the gold, but who would Impress that little gray egg?

She smiled and nodded back to Kadan as she too turned her eyes back to watch the amazing egg pile that seemed to flourish with every passing moment.

Breckin watched with wide eyes, as each egg was layed. He frowned when he remembered it’d be a few seven days before being able to get to stand on the hatching grounds or even touching the eggs. He was glad though that this Weyr followed that custom, he’d heard of many Weyrs that didn’t allow the candidates to touch the eggs.

Why was this so hard on her? She was tough with dragons, but this was unreal. The Healer took a quick intake of breath, then shook her head. She wanted to be happy for her friends, but now was not the right time.
Nike looked at Christae and Sh'iron with a sad, sorry look. She didn't want to leave, but yet she did. Looking over the eggs once again, her eyes still rested on the smaller eggs. She wanted those to Impress the most. After another pause, the Healer turned away and walked out. This was just too hard.
