Christae and Rhia made their way slowly down to the lake. Some of the dragons were still circling. They were no longer keening but the grey tone of their hides was testament to their deep grief for their lost comrade. WHen the two girls reached the lake they greeted G'han and Kadan somberly and called their dragons down.
I really do not need a bath Mine. Kaith said, wanting to spare her rider the work.
Nonsense Kaith love, it will help for us all to stay busy.
Mneith did not even question his rider. He knew it was useless. Rhia had been hit pretty hard by the green's death, not nearly as hard as Nike had been but hard enough to worry the large brown. He settled down and walked into the water, careful not to splash anyone. All of the dragons were subdued.

G'han and Kadan greeted Rhia and Christae as the came. G'han wished it wasn't such a sad time. He didn't like feeling down, he wanted to be in a good mood but couldnt find the reason for it. He looked over at Rhia and began to worry about her. She was taking it pretty hard. He wanted to make her better but didnt know what he could possibly do. It wasn't like he could bring the dead back to the living. He just sighed and turned his attention back to Gerenanth.
..........................
Kadan was washing Gerenanth. As he moved to wash a different spot on Gerenanth he tripped over his tail and fell completely in the water, splasing G'han and Gerenanth.
................................
When Kadan came back up G'han sent a wave of water back at him and said to him, "You clutz". A smile finally came across his face. It seemed Kadan's accident lightened the mood a bit for him, though as accidental as it was.

Christae went to work on her gold's grey hide, scrubbing off dead hide and grit. A ghost of a smile appeared on the Weyrwoman's lips as Kadan wound up soaking wet but it quickly vanished.
Rhia started to scrub Mneith. She caught G'han watching her and bowed her head, shoulders sagging. Mneith snaked his long neck around and placed his head at the small G'han's back and pushed the bronzerider towards his rider.
She needs to be comforted. The brown said simply.

G'han looked back at Mneith and nodded. "Here goes nothing", he said under his breath. He went up to Rhia and put his arms around her, "I know things are bad now, but eventually they will get better. I should know. My family vanished but I managed to be happy again especially when I met you. Things also got better after your near death experience. You healed and now we are closer because of it. I don't know what I would do without you. With that said. You have been there for me so many times. It's time I repay the favor. I am here for you. A shoulder to cry on if you need it or whatever else you need, just know I am here for you".

Rhia was startled at both her dragon's actions and G'han's words. For a while, she stared at him blankly, not really comprehending what he was saying. When they finally sank in she blinked at him.
"I know." She said quietly. "It's just that Tirith and Nike were friends and now Tirith is gone and Nike will never be herself again. It's just so hard to believe." She leaned against him. Her tears were spent but she was glad for his comforting presence.

A warm feeling came over G'han as he looked down at her leaning on him. He laid his head on top of hers as a tear rolled down his cheek. He wanted things to be better and more cheerful around here but he knew that might take awhile. He remembered he wasn't finished washing Gerenanth but decided to let Kadan finish washing him. He didn't want to leave Rhia so he stayed with her holding her in his arms, comforting her. He knew his feelings for her, though he wasn't telling her, not anytime soon anyway.
.............................
Kadan was washing Gerenanth and looked back to see Rhia in G'han's arms. He was about to say something but decided not to. He shrugged his shoulders and said to himself, "I will leave those two to themselves. He continued washing Gerenanth.

Christae glanced at Rhia to see how the other girl was doing and then turned away. She was not going to comment on the scene before her. She was glad that Rhia had G'han to lean on at the moment. She remembered all too vividly how the girl had looked when she first came to Dark Moon, shattered with grief.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rhia closed her eyes, her head resting on the bronzerider's chest. Her head barely came up to his chin but that didn't matter. He was solid, almost a pillar of strength, and she clung to that strength.. So much in her life had been taken away and she was afraid, mortally afraid of losing Mneith and the others she had come to care about so much. Mneith did not seem to mind that he was not being washed. He rested the very tip of his wedge-shaped head on his rider's shoulder.
I will never leave you Rhia. I love you mine!
I love you too Mneith. If you left me I don't know what I'd do.
Live!
I cannot live without you. You are a part of me. Without you, I am nothing.
You speak nonsence Mine! Rhia did not reply, suprised by the vhemence in her dragon's voice.
G'han was caught up in the moment, so caught up he almost wanted to tell Rhia his feelings for her. He shook the thought away. He knew it was a bad time plus he didn't want to leave himself open to getting his heart broken if she reacted differently. For now he would be her strength. During his life he learned to be strong and to hold back his feelings. He was raised tough. He thought back on all the trauma in his life and wondered how he ever got through it. He knew now he could go through anything, as long as he had Rhia and Gerenanth too. He took one of his hands and held Rhia's. He gently squeezed and said, "Everything will be ok, eventually".
.............................
Kadan finished washing Gerenanth and went to Christae, "Need some help washing your dragon?", he asked. He then glanced back at G'han and Rhia. They make a cute couple, how long have they been together?", he asked clueless as ever.
"I hope so." Rhia whispered.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Christae looked up from scrubbing Kaith. "They aren't realy a couple, not officially. With dragonriders you can't really stay with one person unless your dragon chooses your partner's dragon as a permanent mate and that would be a little hard with Gerenanth and Mneith. Those two will wind up being weyrmates but probably not until both of them learn to stop worrying about losing the things they care about." She sighed. "I still haven't started on Kaith's other side so if you feel up to helping that's up to you."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rhia rested against G'han for a while longer and then pulled away. "Mneith won't get washed with me standing here." She said, her tone brisk. She picked up a brush and some soapsand and went to work.
When Rhia pulled away everything seemed a bit colder. He gently put his hand on her shoulder and said, "I will help". He helped wash Mneith. He looked over at Rhia, if only she knew how he felt.
....................
Kadan said, "Oh ok. Sure I will help". He began scrubbing Kaith. He then said aloud, "I hope those two get together. They look like they like each other enough".
Nira walked into the water. This was the first time the others saw her since she ran from the site of Tirith going /between/. Siarath crooned lightly every now and the to comfort the shocked rider. She hadn't spoken since the dragon... She couln't finish her own thought. She sulkingly walked into the water and slowly began to wash the large hide of the green dragon. No firlizards were here to help this time. She looked at Rhia and G'han right before they split apart. She wished she had someone to lean on. You have me. Siarath thought stayed in Nira's head. Lingering as if it would never leave.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Miya walked over to where everyone was. "It would be nice to have a map. I have been lost for a long time." she said unhappily completely oblivious to the recent events.
Kia stood at the shore of the lake, feeling awkward. She looked at the dragon's being washed. Gerananth was done so G'han would probably help Rhia with Mneith. Kadan and Christae were working on her dragon so there really wasn't another dragon to work on. She whistled and Tokagae flew to her hand. Kia got a little oil and cleaned the brown fire lizard.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Daran went to the lake, just to know where it was. He took a glance over and went to his room. He tried to cheer himself up by singing old songs he wrote. They did not have much to do with the current happenings but he just needed a way to not think of what happened.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kia noticed Nira and Siarath walk in the water but could not move from her spot. Tokagae crooned slightly. Kia had not known Nike or Tirith well but a death was a death and any death reminded her. She tried to stand up but her knees buckled and she fell in the water. She gave up and continued oiling Tokagae.
G'han noticed Nira and Kia and said hello. He then saw another girl come, he hadn't met her. He said hello to her too and continued to help Rhia wash Mneith.
...................................
Sharan awoke when others came. He noticed some new people and another firelizard. He flew over to Miya, then went over to Nira, then came to Kia and Tokage. He looked over the two then flew back to his spot to rest. Kadan greeted Nira Kia and Miya then continued to wash Kaith.
Tokagae meerly glanced up at the other fire lizard. He looked to his left and saw Miya. Kia looked at Miyatoo. She tried to get to her feet but now they fell asleep and she felt the sharp, bubbling feeling. She squeezed her ankles, though that doesn't help. Her feet throbbing she finally got to her feet. She gave a small wave to G'han and Nira and walked over to Miya. She placed Tokagae on the ground and asked him to stay. Walking slowly to Miya, she studied the girl's features. As she finally reached her she said, "Hello, I am Kia. I see you need a map, I know the feeling. I was quite lost when I got here. If you would please excuse our mood, we are all sad for one of the rider's dragons has just gone /between/. I could show you around later." She struggled to have a small smile, her voice was quiet. Kia was not this type of person. She was not so sluggish. She frowned at what had happened to her and wasn't sure if she could become as she was.
Nira didn't reply to G'han but Siarath did. Hello bronzerider. PLease excuse Niramine she is how you say....in shock. Siarath looked her her mine worridly. Nira continued to scrub staring into space. As if nothing was happening. AS if voices weren't speaking to her, people weren't motioning towards here, and firlizards were examining her.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Miya didn't reply do G;han either. But that was just her attitude. "So a dragon died." shesaid simply as Kia explained things to her. "Whatever." she added when she realized Kia wouldn't be of any more help. She rudly turned her back to the girl and sat on the ground watching the other mourn and work.
Kia stared angrily at Miya. Such a brat, she was. She turned her hand into a fist but Tokagae chirped and Kia let her shoulders drop. She took a couple deep breathes and said, "When a dragon goes /between/ it is very serious, especially for the rider!" With that she turned on her heel and walked to Tokagae. "How could she be chosen to be impressed," she said under her breath. "I hope she gets mauled." She sat down and finished scrubbing Tokagae. She scrathed his eye ridges but she was mad and doing it too hard. Tokagae grew mad and gently bit Kia. Kia looked at Tokagae and said sorry.
G'han felt bad for Nira, she was taking this perhaps worse than Rhia. He continued scrubbing Mneith. When he heard Miya's comment about the dragon his anger almost got the better of him. He hated such attitudes especially towards dragons. He said to her, "Well if you feel its no big deal that a dragon died maybe you shouldn't be here. I would say someone who doesn't care for a dragon like that doesn't deserve one". He then looked over to Christae and said, "Wouldn't you agree, Christae? I say if she feels that way she can be sent right back where she came from". He then continued to scrub Mneith.
Gerenanth on the other hand became very angry at the disconcern over a fellow dragon. His voice thundered in everyone's head Send her back now. This girl shouldn't be seen or heard. He became quite hostile towards her. ~Gerenanth I know you are angry so am I but settle down. Do not hurt anyone, even her. Stay where you are~, he said trying to quell the dragon's anger. He knew if he got angry enough he might do something.
.........................
Kadan looked over to Miya, he wanted to say something but conflict was something he tried to avoid. He balled his fist then continued to scrub Kaith.
Kia put Tokagae down and took acouple steps towards G'han. "I din't think they can be sent back," she said, hopeless. She didn't like this girl either but what could she do? At least she didn't have a dragon to calm down. Something finally dawned on her. All she said was at least she didn't have a dragon or because she didn't have one. She cursed below her breath. Had her very being fallen apart, only having the want of a dragon left?
"I am pretty sure they can be sent back from where they came. I am sure it's a two way street", he said to her. Gerenanth was still very angry. G'han was trying his best to calm the dragon down but the bronze was often very thickheaded. "Gerenanth she isn't worth our time, settle down", he said to the dragon. He hoped his dragon would calm down soon.
Miya stood up. "You can't send me back." she shouted angrily. She was deeply frightened of loosing her chance to impress a dragon to stand beside but she didn't show it. She couldn't. "I have been chosen to stand as a candidate and I will be a candidate." she said angrily before storming off. She mumbled under her breath till she could no longer see the others, not even their dragons.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Siarath looked at Miya angrily then felt sorry for the girl. Even for one as rude as her should not have to face the shame and dissapointment of bieng returned without bieng allowed a chance. Nira blinked and looked at Miya then turned back to scrubbing. Siarath noticed this but Nira's thoughts were still troubled, and unnafected.
