”She seems very nice.” Faine smiled. She still was slightly awestruck at the big difference in the sisters’ personalities. Relina was introverted, quiet but with a temper while Catilena seemed bubbly and all over the place. It was a nice mixture, to be honest. She watched as Relina seemed to drift away for a moment and Faine guessed she was reliving her own Impression. Whenever there was a hatching, people always remembered their own – it was a trigger.
Colvarinth seemed to relax, her tail unwinding itself from Faine’s ankle. I am glad to hear that Ours are good friends, I hope we can get along also Admin's Note:
She could say this now that she could see that Soranith was no threat. She bumped her head lightly against the redheads leg and looked up, I like them.“I like them too.” Faine replied. She didn’t like the whole silent talking thing; it was too odd for her to comprehend. It was like talking to yourself but…not. So weird. “I forgot to eat earlier today, I’m going to grab some food. Come with me?” She didn’t leave Relina a chance to refuse, entwining the girls fingers with her own as she pulled her towards the back of the Hall; towards some tables of food. She let go of Relina’s hand and, two seconds later, stepped on her dress. She tripped, and hit the chair that Kegin was in. “Sorry!” She gasped, her hand flying to his shoulder to steady herself. “It was an accident!” Ooc|| Oho, want me to bring in Z’ayr to chill with Catilena and D’lan? Though he might try to flirt with himfuu~

(LoL, sure. That`ll be fun.)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~(R)~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Relina rolled her eyes and nodded at Faine.
"Yeah, I guess she is. Can be a pain though." She replied. She looked at Colvarinth and smiled, turning to her green.
Is she nice? Relina asked, curious to learn about the new arrival.
Yes. She is protective of Hers, but she's friendly enough. I am talking to her now, Mine. Soranith replied. Relina chuckled and left her dragon alone. She almost missed Faine's request and before she could even think, the redhead grabbed her hand and pulled her to where the food was.
I am too, Mine is much happier when Yours is present. I would like to be friends. Soranith told Colvarinth. Out of nowhere, Relina's fire-lizards, Zorn and Rhythm, appeared from between and flew about chattering nonsense, landing on Soranith's back and curling up to rest.
Meanwhile
On the way to the table of food, Relina figured it pointless to argue with Faine and went along with her desire to obtain sustenance.
"I am a little hungry. And how could you forget to eat? You silly girl, am I going to have to have Soranith tell Colvarinth on you?" She asked. Before any response could be made, Faine tirpped on Relina's dress and fell to the chair belonging to Kegin, grabbing his shoulder to keep herself from falling too far. Relina grew worried for her friend until she heard her apologize to Kegin. She gave Faine a weak glare and shook her head.
"Your are very danger-prone, you know that? You get bumped by a dragon at my hatching, you get scratched during yours, and now you are tripping on my clothes and falling into innocent people. Good Farenth, girl!" She scolded. She shook her head and looked to Kegin.
"You ok?" Was all she said, revealing her aloof, be-careful-what-you-say-to-me nature to him.
R'anl smiled a bit, still unsure of his apparent good fortune. A dance with Akki? To be perfectly honest, he wouldn't have ever asked her ... partly cause G'han was there and partly for fear of being turned down. But he hadn't had to ... and as much as he wanted to, was G'han going to get mad over it? R'anl was not really clear on what the situation was, and did not want to start treading on toes so early in his life. He'd abandoned ship on his old home due to too many toes being trod on... granted, for things seemingly more weighty than a dance with a girl.
She did seem to really enjoy the socks, though. He was still a little surprised that what she wanted most in the world (apparently) was a pair of socks. What a cheap thrill! But hey ... if it got him a dance? He'd get her more socks in a jiffy. A crooked grin spread over R'anl's face, making him look a lot younger than he was. Almost like a kid in a candy bucket. Of course, he was a little surprised with himself, too ... how much it meant to get a dance with her. Hmm! He hadn't even known he liked blondes that much ... but Akki was something else! Something special. Yeah, he liked her. A lot.
He looked at her curiously, though, when she grabbed his wrist. Okay ... now what? His gaze wandered over toward where the new weyrling kid was, again, where her attention was focused. It was somewhat awkward,to sit there and watch the kid struggle with... a cookie. Focused and intent... like that was the most important thing in the world, that treat. R'anl had to admit, if H'nam ever managed to get it actually into his stomach, it would be one hard earned cookie! Akki's shout and gesture surprised him, though, and he almost fell out of his chair for a moment before recovering. His eyebrows templed for a moment, before he shook his head. "I'll be back." He mentioned, meaning every word.
With that, R'anl crossed the crowding room toward where H'nam was working another cookie off the stack and toward his suspended plate. "Let me help you with that." He remarked, stooping to take the plate from the lad's knees. Startled, H'nam just stared at him like he'd just got his hands caught in things they shouldn't be in ... never mind they were tied behind his back.
"Uhhhh..." H'nam said, as R'anl straightened, reaching over to pick up a hand full of the desired cookies. H'nam just watched in wonder as the bronzerider placed them on his plate. He held his silence, though, having recognized the knots that R'anl was wearing. To be sure, the lad was feeling mighty awkward right about then, and not real sure what to do. Why was it, ever since coming to the Weyr, he kept finding himself in these awkward predicaments? He used to be so sure of himself!
R'anl didn't stop with the cookies, though, adding a roll and a few other items to the plate, as well. "Come on, let's get you a seat." He told H'nam, setting a hand on H'nam's shoulder gently to guide him away from the table. Little did he know that there was exactly the spot that was wounded, and why H'nam was trussed up like he was. H'nam merely grimmaced a moment, before twisting to the side and ducking back to get his shoulder out of that touch. "Oh ... sorry." R'anl apologized, now realizing what he'd done. Now it was his turn to feel awkward. So much for helping the kid out. "Here." He offered, setting the plate at a clear place at a table, pulling the chair out for H'nam to sit in before retreating back toward where Akki was sitting.
H'nam watched R'anl go, wondering what sort of world he'd fallen into, where people did such bizzare things as that. But that was forgotten in a heartbeat as he slid into the provided chair, looking happily at his plate. With no further ado, he leaned forward and sank his teeth into that roll.
When one impresses a silver, what should one do? Probably not what Andilay did, which was go right back out into the sun, to her favorite sunning rock, and lay down for a nap. She even coaxed Veritath up beside her... and had many a person walk by either giving her odd looks or muttering the word 'crazy' under their breaths.
Though, Veritath didn't mind. In fact, she seemed to love the sun as much as her rider did. Oh mine, it feels so nice and warm on my skin.
Andilay simply 'Mmmm'd a reply before felling into a light doze for a little over an hour. It left her feeling refreshed and ready for the festivities that would be going on tonight.
She stretched, her sword scared arm reaching into the sky as she straightened her back with a slight pop. C'mon, little queen, I need to get dressed for the feast. You'll like it, we can mingle with our fellows and have fun.
The young silver dragon let out a yawn. Alright mine. Lead the way.
It was a light walk back to the make-shift barracks and then she had a decision to make. What was she going to wear? She had little else in her pack besides her swordswoman clothes. And while she loved them- they were flexible, fashionable, and comfortable, what else could you ask for in clothing? But she felt she needed to be... well... somehow more feminine. Which required a dress.
Now, Andilay knew she had a dress. She had bought it after much coaxing from Rayn one day when she had obviously been too tired to think straight. But perhaps it wasn't such a bad thing now that she had a use for it. Now if only she could find the thing.
"Ah-Hah!" She muttered as she found it smushed into the bottom of her bag. She pulled it out and gave it a swift shake, making the fabric give out a Crack! sound. Hopefully it would help get out some of the wrinkles... and it kinda did. Kinda. But it was a rather attractive dress. The only reason she hadn't worn it... was because she didn't really wear dresses. But this one was a sweet one. Over the shoulder, black (like most of her things), with a wide stripe of silk-like white down the middle with silver piping down it's sides. Silver embroidery decorated the hem and bodice, and a grayish leather corset cinched in her waist. It was quite the attractive ensemble.
She was a little saddened when she noticed no readily able places to stick one of her blades. She would need to customize the corset for the next time she wore it. Clothes were always better when they could conceal a weapon.
As it was, she would always have her hand to hand skills, and so she shrugged and went to work on her hair... which badly needed a brushing. When she was done, she adorned her hair with a black and silver band (it had been included with the dress) and turned to Veritath. How do I look?
Veritath had been watching her mine quietly, finding the graceful movements of her mine soothing. I think you are beautiful mine. Everyone will want to stare at you.
Andilay chuckled at her silver and nodded. "Thanks, hun."
With a last flick of her wrist, Andilay sent her hair to brush lightly down her back. She straightened her posture and lightly brushed at her scarred arms. The permanent reminder that she would always be a swordwoman at heart... even though now she was a weyrling, and in a couple turns... would be a dragonrider.
It was on such a note that she swept into the hatching feast. She felt proud, and dare she say, perhaps even radiant, for she knew that Veritath did. And as her rider, she should match her dragon... at least a little right?
She had come a bit later than usual. The feast already having a gaggle of people grouped together and talking. She scanned the enclosed space, looking for familiar faces. Rayn was across the room, still in her riding leathers, wasn't that just like her? She continued to look about, and her gaze caught on a familiar head. His tousled black hair made her stomach do a flip-flop, but she pushed the feeling away, her eyes going a tad hard. She was still angry. Or at least, a semblance of angry.... well okay, she was stuck in some kind of defense mechanism of feeling that was trying it's best to make her feel not hurt.
Mine, whats wrong? You do not seem happy. Did Veritath do something?
Startled back from her chaotic feelings, she smiled for her dragons benefit. No, darling. You have done nothing wrong. In fact, you make me very happy indeed. I was simply reminded of... something.
Oh. The silver seemed to accept the explanation, but she had a contemplative look in her whirling eyes.
Andilay, taking a steadying breath, abruptly turned herself toward the food and refreshments. She would get herself a mug of klah, drink it, refill it, and then attack some food. After all, she hadn't really eaten anything since this mornings lone meatroll... and though that was mostly her fault, she should really eat something.
"No, you're right. There's no way I stole it, because I made it up first!", G'han exclaimed. He then grinned and slugged Akki lightly in the arm. It wasn't meant to hurt her in any way, a simple tap that she often gave him as well. G'han was actually surprised, because he was sure he told that story to Akki. The female bluerider complained that there should be no secrets between them, and he really didn't mind keeping up his end of the bargain. Afterall, Akki was oddly the only one he would trust with anything and everything. Even though he was convinced she'd give away all his secrets. Which she did most of the time.
G'han looked over the crowd again, more people had come. He would be glad to see this feast fill out and get really interesting. He looked back at Akki when she made her comment. "Ah yes. Those infamous nails that my back has suffered from. That'd be it. Teeth too, apparently", G'han said, and lifted his shirt down enough so that part of Akki's mark on him was shown. I think you bit harder than expected. I know it's only been a short while, but the bugger just won't go away.
He grinned and added, "It's good to see you cover yours up well. I was sure to make it a spot that wasn't easy to hide. Especially in a dress." G'han stretched and took another sip of wine. Giving another look over the crowd, he saw Andilay enter. G'han had sensed some tension between them. Was it because of the whole thing with Akki? He had heard how he made things awkward for the guys in Akki's life. Akki would undoubtedly have the same impact with the gals in his. Their relationship was just too messed up for anyone to comprehend, even them.
G'han really couldn't say what he could do. He was awkward with the whole relationship thing, atleast that sort of meaningful relationship. Afterall, he came close to being in one of those again, and it was cut off abruptly. He couldn't quite put a finger on the relationship him and Andilay had either. All these things made it confusing for G'han. For now, he could only think to simply give her space and talk to him, when or if she was ever ready.
The bronzerider took another sip of wine and looked at the glass for a moment. Just what was going on with his life right now? It wasn't something he felt like comprehending right now. He diverted his attention elsewhere in many different ways. By his own work, his training, his own sense of humor was even a way to divert such deep thoughts. G'han looked back over at Akki as R'anl went to help someone and smirked. "Alright. Here's a plan. We get a group of us and crazy dance in the middle of the floor. Just to throw everyone off", G'han suggested, taking yet another sip of wine.
[Okay, I'm only going to actually post as two characters, my other characters can be wandering around here as well. If someone actually wants their character to chit-chat with one of the others, just lemme know and I can bring them in. I just don't want tons of people to post as if they're not doing anything xD; ]
After the hatching was over, Naret made his way back to the temporary candidate barracks. He hadn't impressed, but he didn't feel particularly bothered by it; the candidate master had let them all know that some wouldn't, and besides that, there would be another hatching. Before he'd been searched Naret had thought he'd been content living as a Runner, but now that he'd been living at the Weyr for some time...well, he thought he'd stay a bit longer as a candidate - for at least one more hatching. He'd been searched, so there was something about him that a dragon looked for; perhaps the dragon to choose him just wasn't clutched yet.
It didn't take Naret too long to get changed for the feast. Hs welle put on a clean pair of shorts (a nicer one as well), and a clean, forest-green short sleeved shirt. No doubt others at the feast would be dressed up more, but it didn't bother the former runner. Ikarit had been curled up on his bed when Naret came in, but as the boy readied himself the feline had sat up to groom. The candidate looked back at his furry companion before leaving. Having Ijin (the bronze firelizard he'd impressed shortly before being searched) around had lessened the feline's wariness around dragon-kind, but he still refused to go near an actual dragon. If Naret impressed...he didn't want to completely lose his friend.
After a moment of thought, Naret rummaged through his bags to find a hide-made harness he'd gotten for the feline when he was younger, to make sure he hadn't run away on deliveries. Ikarit was still fairly slim, so a few adjustments made it the right size. He wrestled a bit with the feline but managed to get it on, then rested Ikarit in the nook of his arm. The feline was going to the hatching feast; he didn't want Ikarit's first interaction with a dragon (however young) to be when Naret had a hatchling of his own to care for - if he did impress at some point. The boy would just be careful to keep his claws out of reach of any of the newly hatched dragons' hides.
He held onto the feline firmly, despite the lack of struggling, when they entered the hatching feast. Naret would just get his food with one hand.
- - -
V'ael, much as everyone else in the Weyr, had gone to the hatching. It had certainly been an exciting one, and he'd enjoyed watching the candidates impress - even the ones he didn't know. When he made it to the hatching feast, though, he intended to give a proper congratulation to the former candidate he had known, from when he himself had been one. When he got inside the feast he caught sight of her pulling another of the weyrlings towards the food.
Miine, could you bring me back one of those crusty things? The one you gave me at our hatching feast.
By now V'ael was used to the process of mental chatter, and was able to keep walking towards the back of the hall while his lovely green spoke. D'ye mean the meat pie, dearest?
Oh yes, yes, that what it is. Her mental tone was almost a purr as she spoke.
I'd be happy te grab ye one, he reassured his green. Having reached where the food was, he first stepped over to Faine. V'ael gave her shoulder a quick pat to get her attention. "Good show, Faine!" he said, giving her a smile. "Ye impressed te a real beauty, ye did. What's her name?"
Kegin didn't mind that everyone was here. Thought at times it might be nice to be around so many. But now he wished he could be in the solitude of the Forge. He wanted to have metals in his hands and the sound of a hammer on iron. He wanted to heat of the forges. It was his safety. Kegin sighed and shook his head. Out of the corner of his eye he saw someone look at him. He looked up in time for him to see her mouth "Don't choke on the wine." Kegin was a bit confused he wasn't drinking any. Or could it have been "You will impress next time?" He was bad at reading lips.
Kegin couldn't help but give a half hearted grin. He mouthed back, "Thank you." He looked at her and decided to try and relaz. He looked at everyone. He played with his food a bit moving it around on his tray. He knew he should eat so he finished it off and his Klah as well.
When he got jarred in his chair and someone grabbed his shoulder he believed it was a slight blast from the past. His hand went to Faine's but he froze the moment he realized it was a girl. So it seemed he was helping her keep her balance. "It is alright. No harm done." he said. Kegin tried to give a friendly smile.
Blissy was far too excited to go someplace and nap after the hatching, so she simply went for a walk. But of course, that walk ended up as her playing with children and showing off Jespeth. The little minty green had no qualms with playing with children. After all, she was a newborn herself.
When it got to be near the time for the feast, Blissy politely excused herself and Jespeth from the children so she could get ready.
She would have to wear a green dress! And she had just the one. Dark green with parted sleeves that trailed beautifully. She had a light green sash-like belt... and a thinner sash to weave through her long hair once she pulled it up.
Excitement! She practically bounced with it. and happily led her dragon to the feast. Who was here?She looked around, and was soon off to go 'greet' one of her acquaintances... who unfortunately was still a candidate.
"Kegin!!" She gave the big lug a hug from behind. She knew she was to do nothing that might upset Jespeth, but Blissy was a very huggy person. She hugged children, and women, men and even random people in the hallways. What could she say, she was affectionate. She gave a mental shrug.
"Don't worry, there is always another hatching around the bend. Maybe you'll find yours then." She gave his shoulders a squeeze and smiled big for his benefit.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
R'khol sighed as he laced up his boots. His sister a weyrling, the Junior Weyrwoman a silver... him as Weyrleader to it all. This was certainly a different picture than the norm.
He looked at himself in his mirror, and pulled back his hair into a tail using a scrap of leather. He had decided on black trousers and a red shirt. He would have worn his cobalt shirt- his favorite color- but unfortunately... it was still dirty.
"Right, well, I'm off to the hatching feast. Rest well, old friend. You did well."
I'm not nearly as old as you are, R'khol, nor will I ever be.... but have a good time. Congratulate all my children's bonded's for me. The bronze yawned, before he re-settled himself and drifted off to sleep.
What a daunting task. But it was probably a fair one. As Weyrleader, he should endeavor to get to know the new weyrlings. And mingling with other riders could hardly do him much harm. In fact, he probably could learn much.
His steps were determined and measured, and they brought him quickly enough to the feast. He then scanned the thriving area and felt slightly daunted.
Now what?

Kegin was beyond surprised by Blissy. He never thought to speak to her again after the last indecent. His eyes went wide as he looked at her. "Oh...uh....hey Blissy big surprise. Congratulations on impressing." he said. he smiled and her and sighed. "I know I am not to depressed over it. It just wasn't this time is all." he said. Kegin looked at her then at the other two. He instintly didn't like Faine's friend. Everything in him went on guard and his eyes went back from being thoughtful to cold and edgy.
He lifted a brow to all three of them. It was rather a surprise to be surrounded by girls for once. He chuckled and tried to relax. "Well this is a first for me. i do not know what to do." he said. He tried to keep his smile relaxed and honestly just tryed enjoying the attention. Even if it was accidental. "So how are you and your dragon fairing Blissy?" he asked.

Kala't came bouncing in, laughing with Falienhth in toe, warbling playfully.
"Kegin!! Too bad not Impressing. You might have one next time. Hey Blissy." As his eyes scanned the two friend, there was another...a bronzerider. Then his got /really/ big as he realized who he was.
"Wow! You're - you're the - you're the Weyrleader! Wow!" he gasped in amazement. Falienhth nudged his hand. "Oh, oh. Sorry, Fal. Everyone this is my Falienhth."
Falienhth pranced about and showing off his hide and wings. He stood up on his haunches and pawed the air and meeped.
Hello, there! It an honor for you to be here, sir. Falienhth said to R'hkol.
"I taught him that." Kala't smiled. Kala't was hungry. He already fed Falienhth before he came down. Then he was supposed to take a nap but then he had insisted the he had come.
"Excuse me. " he had taken Falienhth off to the side.
You were supposed to be sleeping, why aren't you? he said quiet sternly.
Mine, please don't be cross with me. I wanted to met everyone.
It does not matter if you want that. Everyone here isn't going to runaway. They all will still be here when you wake up. Now, little dragons need there sleep in order to grow what?
Happy, strong and wise, Mine. The little dragon sighed. He knelt down and looked at him eye to eye.
Look, I promise I'll you over a little something. A new toy, perhaps? Now, go get some sleep, my beauty.
Oh, yes! That would just be dandy! Okay. Falienhth scampered off and tried to fly.
Hey! Not right now! Let the WeyrlingMasters teach you when its time! Now's not the time to test to those pretty wings of yours! He shouted, stern but firm.
Falienhth was always obedient and fixed it to were he was trotting.
Kala't returned.
"Sorry about that, sir." he apologized. He left, got some food and came back to sit down.

Kegin looked at Kalaht surprised. "Hey you are not stuttering anymore." he said. Kegin smiled at the boy. He didn't really care about the Weyrleader being there but he would still be respectful if spoken to. "Did the hatching scare it out of you?" Kegin chuckled and smiled a bit. He was more relaxed now.
It didn't accure to Kegin that this might be considered getting popular. He was just talking to people he knew. Ones that didn't mind being around him. He began to smile a bit more. His whole body seemed to relax. Maybe staying wasn't such a bad idea. Kegin chuckled again at his thoughts. What would happen next?

Colvarinth stepped back and made a slight snorting noise when Relina’s flitters made an appearance. She wasn’t quite sure what to make of the little dragons and their chittery noises. She eyed them for a moment before following Hers as they made their way to the back of the room.
Faine rubbed her nose slightly, laughed and shrugged. She was rather accident-prone, she had been since the day she was born so she got used to it rather quickly. She let her hand slip from the boy’s shoulder as she looked at Relina, wide-eyed, “I didn’t rip your dress did I?” Oh Faranth, she was really hoping she hadn’t ripped the girls dress! Faine glanced back at Kegin and smiled, “No harm, no foul.” That seemed to be somewhat of a motto for her.
When someone tapped her shoulder, Faine spun around and tripped once more – more or less faceplanting into V’aels chest. “Ouchmrrfsorry!” She mumbled as she took a step back and straightened. “Oh, V’ael!” She beamed before glancing down at her gold, “Her name’s Colvarinth.”
The dragon mentioned was currently looking around, making it seem like she was doing the awkward ‘No, I don’t know this clumsy girl.’ Faine frowned slightly; maybe Colvarinth really was realizing she chose the wrong girl. The dragon swiveled her head and stared up at V’ael, surveying him. Another friend, Mine Admin's Note:
---------- While R’anl was trying to keep the peace by not saying anything that could possibly set G’han off, Akki was blissfully unaware that she didn’t even know what tact was. She wanted to dance with R’anl and would have asked him, even if they were in the company of some weyrmate of his or something. It was simply what she did. She blinked and watched R’anl excuse herself. “Shards G’han, did I scare him off?” She whispered, turning to the bronzerider. The bluerider was rather glad that G’han and her managed to keep most sap out of their relationship, at least verbal sap. It was true that Akki claimed there could be no secrets between them but she didn’t really know that G’han had taken that seriously. He told her everything while she kept some things to herself, she didn’t really know why. If G’han had ever told her seriously that he kept nothing from her, she would feel quite awkward. She blinked and let her eyes focus on the bite mark on G’han before shrugging casually, “I meant to bite as hard as I did.” The dark mark G’han had left her had managed to fade for the most part – it just looked like a small bruise at this point. She turned away from G’han and watched as R’anl acted as a gentleman and helped this H’nam boy get his food. When the bronzerider sat back down, Akki leaned over and used her fingers to push his cheeks together, giving him fish lips. “Not only do you know how to charm ladies, but you can charm the men too!” Akki laughed before letting her fingers drop from his face. She watched as Andilay entered the room and tapped her fingers against the table she was at, “Do you think Andilay would save a dance for me?”. She wanted to congratulate the girl and tell her something…and she wanted to just dance. She turned away and glared at G’han, “No crazy dancing. Especially since you said I couldn’t dance.” ------- Z’ayr was dying. Of boredom, to be exact. The hatching had been splendid but now he had to wait for the hatching feast to start? There was nothing to do while he waited! Ick, so troublesome. He had simply spent the time in his weyr, arguing with Dinayth as to what colors redheads could pull off. Dinayth was adamant that some redheads could pull off pink while Z’ayr refused to accept such blasphemy. When they agreed to disagree, the feast was starting. Most people would be ashamed of the fact they just spent a good hour or two arguing their dragon about fashion choices, but not Z’ayr. He rummaged through his clothes for a moment before slipping into some black slacks and pulled a shirt over his head. It was a rather plain shirt, but that was okay. It was a crisp clean white with gold embroidery around the neck, down the middle of his shirt and around the bottom. He spent a few minutes primping his hair and then looked at Dinayth; the dragon liked having a say in what clothes were okay. Once Dinayth gave his approval, he was off! He didn’t know many people in the feast, he would admit to that. He saw a glimpse of V’ael and was going to flirt with the boy but he seemed to be in a conversation already. Z’ayr gave a sigh and grabbed a cup of klah, trying to think of a plan. If he didn’t know anyone then it was time to meet people. His plan? Throw himself into a random conversation. He glanced around before spotting Catilena and D’lan. He sipped his klah for a moment while eyeing the boy. Scrumptious.He walked over to the pair and simply threw his arms around D’lan. “I don’t know you and you don’t know me but congratulations on Impressing!” He said rather loudly.

V'ael quickly reached out to catch Faine's shoulders. When she looked up and he realized she was fine, he gave a smile back and looked over to the gold when she was introduced. Once Faine was on her feet, V'ael looked over to the little queen more properly and gave a nod. "Great te meet ye, Colvarinth - lovely name, too. I must say, ye made a great choice in me friend Faine here."
Out of the corner of his eye he did see Z'ayr arrive, but it didn't take long for the red-head to go meet-and-greet with the other newly impressed. V'ael looked back to Faine and the others she was with, giving a nod to Relina as well - they were Weyrlings from the same clutch, after all.

Naret stood in place in the feast for a bit,letting Ikarit settle down after being introduced to the huge crowd. He still insisted on keeping the feline tucked under one arm, despite the fact that he'd tried climbing up to his shoulders. Sure, he had him on a harness and tether, but he didn't want the cat making a bolt for it all the same.
After he'd waited a few minutes, Naret made his way towards the food tables. He noticed that a girl - Faine, he remembered her from the first lesson - was there with a few others and her dragonet. Ikarit tensed under his arm at the sight of the hatchling, but Naret simply held tighter and went up to the food table. He just kept his plate on the actual table while he put some food onto it, intent on using the other arm to hold the feline in place.

Jeri couldn't help but grin in reply at Orena. "It's your work, I'm just wearing it," she said modestly, but secretly, she knew she looked good. Even if Orena's flitt had chewed on it a bit.
Confused at the use of the term "baby", Jerodyn wrinkled her brows. But then comprehension dawned, and her face broke into a soft smile. "He's very well, thank you. Just settled down for a nap." She thought of him curled up and sighed happily. Then a thought occurred. "What about you?" she asked excitedly. "Did you Impress?"

R'anl had no sooner gotten settled back in his seat again when Akki assaulted him. "Mmrph!" His face did pucker up when she shoved it around, surprisingly mobile. He just stared at her for a moment, trying to decipher what it was she thought she was doing. Once released, however, R'anl shook his head, and worked his face around a bit before settling back to the more or less placid expression he'd been wearing before. Strange women were strange.
In the back of his mind, though, Geth was giggling his big fat rump off. Yes, giggling. For all that he was a monstrous Bronze, he was definitely giggling. You have an admirer!
I wouldn't go that far. R'anl answered, silently. Akki was a person to keep an eye on ... next thing she might be passing out wet willies or something. One never knew, with her, apparently. He twitched his nose again, anyway, before rubbing his mouth and jaw with one hand. Weird Akki was Weird. But ... maybe in a good way.
Orena smiled, but shook her head with a small shrug. "I didn't impress. But I'm glad you did! Now you have a dragon, and I ... have a flitter!" The pause in her sentence was very brief, and someone would have to be paying very close attention to have even noticed it at all. She straightened, and tugged on Jeri's shirt just a bit, and smiled again. "Looks good on you." Orena repeated, with just a hint of pride.
Settling back into her seat, she smiled brightly. "Are you going to introduce me to your new friend, after dinner?" She hinted, with the metaphorical sharpened stick.

Flattery would get you everywhere with Colvarinth. The little gold straightened and held her nose in the air, quickly sending a croon to V’ael. Not only was her name complimented, but he even said that she made a good choice in Faine. I definitely like this one Mine. She said with an air of authority. Faine blushed for a moment at V’aels words before passing along Colvarinth’s message. “She likes you.” She smiled before cocking her head slightly to the side, “How is Aeydrith?” It seemed like she very rarely saw V’ael and his green about. She glanced at Z’ayr for a second before letting her eyes settle back to V’ael. Z’ayr she had met and he seemed quite happy to inform her that V’ael was ‘delicious looking’. It was hard to keep a straight face when talking to the greenrider now that those words were echoing in her head. Colvarinth pulled away from Faine, a wriggling feline catching her attention. She slowly walked over to where Naret was, nose up high in the air as she tried to sniff the creature. ----- She flashed R’anl a crooked grin when she saw the man more or less massage his face. “Oops, sorry. I don’t know my own strength.” The bluerider apologized with a slight laugh. She had forgotten that fishfaces could actually hurt. She picked up her wine glass and drained it, tilting her head back to get the last drop before putting it back on the table. She stretched her arms above her head, ignoring the slight popping noise coming from them and then stood up suddenly with a loud ‘Hup!’. She placed one hand on her hip, turned to R’anl and offered him the other hand. “Let’s get this shindig starting, boy. We have some dancing to do.” There was no music playing but Akki had learned that once you started dancing, the music would start up quickly enough. However, offering him her hand seemed rather pointless because two seconds later she just took hold of his and pulled him off of his chair, heading for the little clearing that would make a perfect dance floor. She weaved through the crowd, a large smile on her face. She paused slightly when she reached Andilay though before slinging an arm around the girl. “M’dear Junior Weyrwoman, I would like to congratulate you on your Impression.” She beamed before adding, “Ah, this is so weird. I’ll still think of you as the girl who was joining our seduction party.” She sighed fondly, remembering that day and patted Andilay on the shoulder. “Just wanted to say congrats, we’re gonna start the dancing of this feast.” She smiled, about to continue pulling R’anl. She paused for a second and ducked her head, her mouth near Andilay’s ears. “Just so you know, while I’m okay with sharing boytoys? I know that some others aren’t. I won’t seduce him.” She leaned back, winked at Veritath and continued on her way. Shards though, there went an easy five marks. Within seconds Akki had pulled R’anl to the clearing and spun herself, letting go of his hand so she could throw hers up into the air. “Let’s get this started!”

V'ael gave a smile when Faine informed him of Colvarinth's reply. He looked down to the little dragon and gave another small nod. "Well, I be honored." He'd certainly been at the Weyr long enough to know how to properly act around a queen - even one that had just been hatched! He looked back at Faine when she asked her question.
"Oh, she's doin' fine. Just a bit big by now te be comin te the feast." His smile had broadened a bit when the subject of Aeydrith had come up, quite obviously showing off the emotion that all riders had for their dragons. "I did promise her I'd bring her a meatroll back, she remembers them from our own hatchin' feast."
- - -
Naret had put a few meatrolls and some veggie sides on his plate and had been lifting a pitcher to pour himself some juice when Ikarit suddenly dug his claws further into the boy's arm and gave a low, mrow-growl. Naret immediately put the pitcher down and brought the hand that had been holding it to press firmly down on the feline's shoulder blades. He couldn't talk to his furry companion, but they'd known eachother long enough that just the touch was enough to stop Ikarit from making noise. He did, however, continue to stare intently at...something.
Of course, a second later Naret noticed the little silver-striped-gold from the hatching making her way over to sniff at the feline. Ikarit thrashed his tail in agitation, but Naret was still sticking to his plan of desensitizing the feline - in as careful a way as possible. He gripped hold of Ikarit's front paws, locking his fingers around them with his free hand in the same way he did on the few occasions when he'd give the feline a bath. Once his claws were secure, Naret took a breath in and crouched down by the gold. He gave his feline a quick, stern look, then turned back to the hatchling to offer a smile - he hoped she'd understand his expression enough to take it as a greeting. He didn't have any hands to write with now, and he doubted the hatchling could read anyway.

The approach of the flamboyant bluerider made Catilena chuckle and the look on D'lan's face when he was grabbed was priceless. She looked to Z'ayr and laughed.
"You plan on letting go of him anytime soon?" She playfully asked him.

D'lan wriggled uncomfortably in Z'ayr's grip and looked to Catilena as if asking for help. Lenoth snorted uncomfortably, unsure of his rider's agitation.
Are you alright Mine?
Lenoth asked him, eyeng Z'ayr suspiciously. D'lan gulped and looked at his dragon.
He isn't hurting me, he's just, close. D'lan responded, he turned his attention back to Z'ayr.
"Um, thank you. My name is D'lan, that is Lenoth," He said, pointing to his brown. "and you are making us both nervous." He told him uneasily.
(OOC: Ha! D'lan's first queer! Nice Akki)

An observant girl by nature, Jerodyn did indeed notice the tiny pause in Orena's statement. She eyed her thoughtfully, sympathy lining the set of her eyes. She smiled gently at her, trying to convey her affection and understanding without saying anything, because that would probably turn out awkwardly.
Jeri wiggled a bit when Orena straightened her shirt. "Oh, you're just like my mother," she said teasingly, though it was true. "And my father," she added, realizing that both of them had often adjusted her clothing to fit right. She supposed that was normal, both of them being Weavers and cloth-oriented. Funny that I don't care that much about clothing, coming from them, she thought.
She sat opposite her friend and nodded. "He's sleeping, but I'm sure he wouldn't mind being admired while he's dreaming.. if dragons dream," she said. "I wonder if they do?" She put an elbow on the table and her chin in her hand, pondering it. "I can't imagine he would have a lot of dreams, if he did. His name is Tirzinth, by the way," she added with a smile, remembering their Impression.

G'han leaned back over to her and patted her shoulder. "Akki, when do you not scare guys off? Well, wait, you haven't scared me off yet. Guess that just goes to show there's an exception to every rule", G'han answered her and then took a sip of wine.
G'han rubbed his chest and looked at the mark for a moment, pulling away his shirt a bit as he did. He let it go when he looked back at Akki to speak. "Yeah. Since when do you pull your punches, eh?", G'han asked rhetorically. He grinned when R'anl returned and Akki started to mess with him. The girl was certainly interesting. G'han couldn't ask for a more amusing friend.
He watched as the two walked off to dance after Akki declined an opportunity to make a fool of herself. He simply shrugged his shoulders with a smirk and took another sip of wine. G'han felt sorry for the guys in Akki's life. They never did quite get her, and G'han couldn't blame them. She was a hard girl to understand. She just wasn't the romantic type. She wasn't really relationship type, even Akki knew that. G'han was already wondering if he fit in the same category.
He knew that he had picked up on some of Akki's traits over the years. It didn't really bother him. Akki was an important part in his life, so it made sense. They may never end up as weyrmates, but she certainly made a better drinking partner than most men. Rarely did anything serious creep in their relationship, but G'han seemed to like that aspect. Quite simply, when it came to Akki, he could be himself and not expect any complaints.
He watched as she talked to Andilay. He still wasn't quite sure how to approach her and still thought it best to give her space. Besides, a wingleader with a weyrling? It wasn't best for either of them. Last thing he wanted was to stir that sort of controversy in the weyr. The only controversy G'han enjoyed stirring up was the kind that didn't result in anything too serious.
G'han turned his attention to the rest of the room. He wasn't quite ready to move from his spot. Infact, he was quite content with finishing his glass of wine before doing a thing. The wingleader had noticed the weyrleader was now present. He wondered how that would affect the feast, knowing how Akki was not too long ago. It wasn't just Akki either, it was some others as well. G'han wasn't quite sure of the new guy, but he wasn't going to any extremes.
