Okay, V’ian made her promise not to make the new Weyrleader cry but part of her wouldn’t mind seeing a tear run down the man’s cheek. It wasn’t like Akki was sadistic or anything, she’s just never seen a grown man cry before.
The plan to rebel against the Weyrleader sort of went a bit wonky when suddenly it turned into ‘I’ll give you five marks to seduce this person’. She couldn’t complain though, she was looking forward to those five marks. Unfortunately now that she was heading over to interrogate the new Weyrleader, she was off doing it alone which wasn’t as nearly as much fun as going in some large and hopefully intimidating group. Poor K’rohl…R’okhl? Whatever his name was was going to be stuck with Akki all alone. Probably not the Dark Moon welcome he was exactly looking for.
It was easy to find his weyr, normally she had to ask a drudge or two for directions but Weyrleaders tended to have the same weyr. She made a few turns, went up a few stairs here and there and voila! There it was. She paused outside the entrance, not entirely sure how to enter the weyr of a Weyrleader. Ah, shard it. Winging it always worked for her.
“Hope you’re decent cause I’mma coming in!”

R'khol had been poring over scrolls. Mostly the few histories he could find on Dark Moon.... and then he had the logs from the prior Weyrleaders.... some of which, he had to admit... were kind of idiots.
He sighed. The amount of work Christae must have been put through... he couldn't imagine. Not only her duties, but even fixing some of the mistakes some of the Weyrleaders of the past had made. He wished quite fervently to be more a help than a hindrance, here. And thus was another reason why he was doing research. If he was to do a proper job, he needed to know how, exactly, it needed to be done.
He started when a woman's voice spoke from the entrance of the weyr. She was coming in, even if he wasn't decent? He looked down at his sleeveless shirt and pants. Well, that was decent.. ish. However, his weyr wasn't. There were notes strewn here and there, stacks of scrolls he wanted to read and stacks he had already read. It was rather embarrassing, he was usually much more organized... but with getting his things here and trying to do research... well, he hadn't really gotten around to tidying up. At least he didn't have clothes strewn about every which way. He would go mad if he saw laundry strewn everywhere every time he came into his weyr. At least for now, it was simply scholarly mess.
He turned toward his weyrs entrance, a glance over to Kegrith told him that the great bronze was dozing. A smile tugged at his mouth. The beast was working himself hard to keep his queen love fed and making sure she had the proper amount of affection each day.
He shook his head and returned his attention to the 'intruder'. "Can I help you... miss?"

Like promised, Akki entered the weyr – not caring if he was nude or what. She took a quick look around the weyr and was actually a little bit disappointed; she had been hoping for some crazy messy weyr that she could blackmail him with. Or for something really kinky to be lying around – that would also be good blackmail material. However, there was only parchment and the like. Nothing all that exciting.
She let her eyes turn and finally fall on the Weyrleader. His hair was rather odd – at first glimpse it looked black but it was really…uhh. Red? Maybe? Possibly. In all he was a rather good looking man so Akki couldn’t go and bother someone about how the Weyrleader was a beast. “You certainly can help me.” She sniffed, still eyeing the man.
Akki dropped the charade of some haughty character for a moment, “There was going to be a lot more people with me because I was starting a rebellion but they all bailed on me.” She felt like she should offer some sort of explanation even though that really wasn’t an explanation at all. She threw her hands up into the air, a slightly disgusted look plastered onto her face. “I can’t accept a stranger waltz into the Weyrleader position!”
She let her hands drop and scowled a tiny bit, “I need your life story!”

R'khol blinked a few times as his brain took a moment to process this woman's words and... demands.
"Well, first. I did no waltzing. It was more of a fluke than anything. But I can't complain, Kegrith would chew me out. Plus Christae is a very sweet and capable woman... so really there is no need to complain." He gave her a slight shrug and shifted in his seat so that he might look at her as he told her about himself. He decided to remain seated, and allow her to keep the feeling that she was in control of the situation. Which, for all purposes, she was.
"As far as my life story... why do you need to know? It's not all that different from others I'm sure. I'm Hold born, the first son of the Holder's brother. I was searched and I impressed when I was 13 turns to Kegrith. I worked my way up the ranks like any hard working man. I left Ista as a wingleader, to come here and be a weyrleader. It's a responsibility I DON'T intend to take lightly. Does that help, miss?"
He looked her up and down. She was a feisty one, he could tell, from the top of her blond head to the tip of her booted toes. He would have to keep an eye on this one, he supposed. "Might I inquire as to whom my interrogator is?"

Christae was indeed a very sweet and capable lady, which was one of the reasons Akki was going to be pestering the new Weyrleader for every detail of his life. The goldrider had her share of bad Weyrleaders, Akki would prevent another one if she had too – Christae and Akki had grown up together as riders, the bluerider didn’t particularly want to see anything bad happening to her friend. However, R’khol got credit for acknowledging that Christae was a sweet deal. R’khol probably would have also gotten credit for staying sitting and letting Akki feel all boss-like.
However, she didn’t even notice this and was soon sitting crosslegged on the floor.
Her shoulders were slumped slightly, “Well that was too easy. I was expecting a fight or something, you know? It was why I was originally going to have a group of like five people with me.” Her shoulders straightened though when she peered up at him, “Siblings? Children? Ever hit a woman? Anyone else in your family that’s a rider? Are you a fan of wine?” The questions were being shot quickly out of her mouth and it was a wonder that they weren’t being slurred together. “I need to know because that’s what I do – I learn life stories.”
She shook her head, blonde hair flying up slightly. “No way I’m saying my name. Christae would know that it was me and she would beat me up. She could do it, you know. She’s stronger than me, I don’t doubt that.” And she liked her skin unbruised, thanks.

R'khol scratched the back of his head, some of his hair coming loose from it's binding and falling forward to brush against his jaw and collarbone.
He placed his hands on his knees and, after a pause to mentally place answers with questions, he answered her. "I'll try to go in order then. Well, I have three siblings. Two older and one younger, all sisters. No children. I have never hit a woman... but I did push my younger sister into a group of prickly bushes when I was 10. Haunted me ever since. I'm sure I do have fellow riders in the family, but seeing as to how I'm related to a good amount of Keroon Hold, I don't know them all. I don't dislike wine, but only in moderation."
He looked at her thoughtfully then. "Why should tell her you were here? Is this a matter for the Weyrwoman? If I wanted her to tell you off, I'm sure a description of your features and the way you pose your questions would be more than enough to point Christae in your direction. As I have no real reason to tell her, and if you don't wish for you to be known that you were here, I can grant your request. Granted, if you tell me who it is I didn't see today?" He lifted his brows in a sort of question. "If it helps, I'll introduce myself, seeing as I haven't really gotten to that. My name is R'khol, rider of bronze Kegrith."

”Really? All sisters, that’s gotta suck. Girls are filled with drama.” Akki blurted out before remembering that she was supposed to be interrogating him, not chatting him up. Even though it was true, all girls were filled with drama. She frowned slightly and tilted her head as she thought. “Sibling rivalry doesn’t count.” She declared after a moment. If it did, then she would be a notorious man-beater. Ah, wait. Akki really was one already.
Akki was having a hard time keeping her mouth shut though. Related to a good amount of Keroon Hold? If she were with G’han, she would laugh and call his mother a lush or something but that was probably an inappropriate thing to say to the new Weyrleader. She was fairly positive that if a fight broke out, she would lose. He got extra points for liking wine too. She twirled some hair around her finger and frowned. There weren’t many blonde people in the Weyr and it was just like Akki to pester the new WL so Christae could definitely ID her easily.
“I should have worn a disguise.” She murmured before snapping her fingers. “Ah, right. I was supposed to get your name before questioning you.” Akki shrugged and then eyed the man for a second.
“Akki. Of blue Ebbeth.”

R'khol shrugged. "I never thought of it as drama... but I suppose some of the things that happened could have been less.... dramatic." He scratched the back of his head.
"Sibling rivalry? It was hardly that. It was just a little rough housing that got out of hand. But since that doesn't count, no. I have never raised my hand against a woman. It goes against my beliefs."
He offered her a hand to shake after her introduction. "It is a pleasure to meet someone so concerned about the weyr, Akki of blue Ebbeth."
((Ack... short....))

The bluerider rolled her eyes and snapped her fingers, “Hasn’t anyone every told you that girls are made of sugar and drama? I thought this was a fact everyone knew.” Akki was filled with sugar? Hardly. More like snarky vinegar or something. She paused, drumming her fingers against the hard floor as she listened to them ‘clack’. “I wonder what boys are made of.” She mumbled mostly to herself. Probably food.
She let her attention go back to his words. Akki sniffed slightly and then nodded, “Good. Because if you had hit a woman, I’d probably cut you.” It seemed almost ironic coming from her considering she was often seeing punching G’han or her brother. Heck, she would even wallop Wolf on the arm when the girl was still around.
The rider eyed the man’s hand for a second, contemplating whether or not she should shake it. However, she eventually reached out and grasped it for a quick moment. “I’m not concerned about the Weyr.” She frowned, correcting him. “I’m concerned about my Weyr. [/i]”. This might be why no one ever introduced themselves to Akki (She always had to hunt them down), she was quite intense for a first meeting. She tucked some hair behind her ear, “So. Whattaya think of Christae?”[/center]

R'khol found that this Akki was quite the character, and couldn't help the smile in his eyes. "Well, no, I did not know that girls are made up of both sugar and drama. But since you say they are, I would think that men are made of spice and patience, to... counter what women are made of, naturally."
He lifted an eyebrow at the slight threat, it was a tad much, he thought, but let it slide. Violence begetting more violence was a vicious cycle.
He chuckled at the mention of her weyr. "Oh, it's yours is it? And here I was thinking it was Christae's." As to what he thought about that woman? Well... R'khol scratched the back of his head, his fingers pulling out more stray hairs from his tail. "She is a sweet woman, deserving of as much care as can be given her, and as much support as any man can give. A good woman."

Akki couldn’t help but give the weyrleader a skeptical look, one eyebrow raised with a slight frown pulling on her lips. “Men? Patient? Don’t make me think that the Weyrleader is a fool. No such thing as a patient man.” She snorted with grim amusement. She really never had met a patient man. Ah, wait, that was a bit of a lie. A few of the healers she had met in her time seemed to be slightly patient but other than that? Her brother wasn’t the patient type and G’han most certainly wasn’t. Besides, men didn’t counter women. Men were blind and just went after anything that had a nice chestal region.
Hmm. Maybe her view of men was slightly odd. Suddenly she found herself thinking that she needed to meet more guys that weren’t like G’han.
“I’m lending it to Christae. Running a Weyr got boring after a while, I needed a bigger adventure.” She said rather casually, shrugging with a ‘What can you do?’ sort of smile playing on her lips. Akki watched as the man scratched the back of his head, frowning at his words about Christae. “That was such a generic statement.” She pointed out. Of course Christae was sweet but holy shards – watch out if she was angry. Akki could still remember the look of death in the woman’s eyes when she talked about their former Weyrleader. His name didn’t deserve to be thought of since he ditched Dark Moon. “You need to spice up that description a lil bit more.”
Why do you always have to bother the Weyrleaders? Do you want us to get kicked out Dark Moon? Ebbeth huffed, though vaguely amused. He wouldn’t admit it though. I apologize for my rider’s behaviour. The blue told R’khol. Akki frowned at this, Ebbeth always made her sound like some sort of pet.
