It was a pleasant day at the lake. The sun was high, warming the water, and the wind blew just ever so slightly. It was on this day that Relina and Soranith visited the lake to relax. Relina yawned as Soranith gently nudged her rider with her nose.
I wish to swim. May I go? Soranith asked, slightly sassy. Relina smiled and sat down.
Very well, but first, can you ask Colvarinth to tell Faine to come to the lake? I wish to talk to her. Relina told her dragon. Soranith snorted as she made her way to the lake.
Colvarinth, mine asked me to tell you to tell yours to meet her at the lake. I am going for a swim, will you come? Soranith said, sliding into the water as Zorn and Rhythm popped out of no where and joined her. Relina chuckled as she watched her little family play in the water.

Colvarinth was content – she was happily sunning herself on a rather warm rock while her bonded was cleaning the barracks.
Now, Faine wasn’t told to clean up and it certainly wasn’t a chore assigned to her. In fact, she had spent some time in the morning changing the glows which actually was her chore of the day. But this? This was just for fun. Alright, maybe fun wasn't the right word but it made sense in Faine's mind. She could practically see the dust molecules that were going into her lungs with every breath; something had to be done - this simply wasn't going to work for her. As soon as she managed to finish glow duty she grabbed some rags and warn water, spending the better part of the day scrubbing and dusting, thoroughly wiping every little spot three times. It wasn’t an easy job but Faine felt quite a bit better as soon as she was done.
The redhead wiped her forehead as she leaned back on her heels, strands of red hair every as she looked around the clean barracks. The smile on her face was impossible to hide – she was proud of what she had accomplished. Actually, one might say that she was positively glowing.
Colvarinth jarred slightly, not overly delighted at the fact that her quiet sunning time was interrupted. She made a snorting noise, also not enjoying the fact that she was playing messenger. The gold was much better than that. However, she complied…at least for now. Soranith's invited us out for a swim at the Lake. Will you being going Admin's Note:
The gold watched as the girl clapped her hands excitedly and nodded, already excited at the aspect of going swimming. Colvarinth slowly flicked her tail along the ground, I suppose I will accompany you.Five minutes later the pair were at the Lake’s shore, Faine waving excitedly as Relina. “Sorry it took us so long! I had a lot of dust in my hair and I wanted it out.” That didn’t particularly make sense since she was going to go swimming anyways but that was beside the point. “Hello Soranith, Rhythm, Zorn!”

Relina chuckled at her friend's comments and padded a spot next to her.
"It's alright. Come, sit with me while our dragons play." She enticed. Her flits excitedly greeted Faine when she addressed them and they couldn't help but fly in excited circles about her. Soranith came to the shore and made a weyrling version of a bugle to Colvarinth happily.
Hello Colvarinth, will you swim with me? The little ones will bathe us when we tire. Soranith told her pleasantly. Relina smiled at her dragons offer and prodded Faine to sit with her again.
"You know, all my life, I was told I was nothing, I would never amount to anything and I would live out my worthless existance alone. Yet, here I am. Proud rider of a Green Dragon, bonded to not just one but two fire-lizards, and one of my few, yet best friends is a goldrider." She beamed, but then she suddenly frowned.
"Faine, I am not sure of the ways of the weyr, but don't they send queenriders to other weyrs when there is an excess? I don't want you to leave, and if they do send you away, I promise I'll be leaving with you." Relina said haughtily, straightening up as Zorn and Rhythm flew back to Soranith.
(OOC: Yeah, I forgot that weyrleaders have a tendancy to send away extra queenies, what happens if Salina and Deoneth return? I've not heard of a weyr tolerating more than 3 queens.)

[Forgive me for the lack of goodness in this post. If it's sub-par, it'll probably pick up once I have interaction going on xD Is just the entrance that might be meh.]
There was another pair that had already been at the beach as well, K'ris and Queroth were enjoying the sun just as well as the others there. They'd been in the water earlier and at this point were enjoying the sun on the warm sand. At four months the hawks-eye was proving to be on the smaller side of his mutation, reaching to about 11 feet to the top of his head when standing.
They'd been settled into the sand about the time that Relina and her green appeared. Qeuroth was laying on his stomach with his back legs sprawled behind him and his head resting on his forelegs. His wings were stretched out slightly to catch the sun. K'ris was laying on his back with his shoes discarded in the sand nearby. He was leaning against Queroth where the dragon's neck met his shoulder, and his hands were resting on his chest.
He'd found in the past that people who showed up at the lake were usually looking to stay alone or in the groups they'd come with, so he didn't move from where he and Queroth lay when Relina, and then Faine, arrived. If he wasn't called over to join the group anytime soon he probably would head over at some point, but he was never the sort to 'intrude' on a conversation. Qeuroth was content in the sand with his bonded for now, but after a bit of sunning he'd likely try and join the other dragonets there in a swim after - sooner, probably, if he was outright invited. He was no stranger to the dragonic love of swimming, but right now it was the sunning he was enjoying.
[Bleh, there we go. I'll just wait and see if another character drags him in, and if not I'll...figure out a way to get him involved, I guess.]

Paying no mind to their bondeds conversation, Zorn and Rhythm caught sight of Queroth and flew over to the dragon to investigate and explore this new creature. Upon closer inspection, they saw the dragon was not alone and sent happy thoughts to Relina and Soranith. The green dragon looked in Queroth's direction and rumbled low in her throat.
Greetings, Queroth. Nice day for a swim, don`t you think? Soranith said, trying to be polite. The blue and green flits chittered and flew in lazy circles around the Hawk's eye.

Faine listened to Relina before smiling at the girl, “There’s no such thing as amounting to nothing. People who say that are quite ridiculous. Everyone accomplishes something in their life.” She was glad to hear that her friend didn’t think of herself as worthless – she would grow up to be quite a good greenrider and Faine was delighted at the fact that she was friends with the girl. She glanced at Colvarinth, smiling slightly. It was funny how quickly things could change. Faine was almost convinced that she would spend her days as a cook once she was too old to stand for hatchings, accidentally stealing things from the kitchen. Now she would be taking things from the kitchen with a gold dragon scolding her.
“I don’t think two queenriders will be considered an excess.” Faine smiled. She wasn’t really sure though. Was there a possibility of being sent away? She didn’t really want to leave so maybe she could just say no if she was asked too. Plus she had the feeling that no one would make Colvarinth do something she didn’t want to do. “Plus I like Dark Moon, I wouldn’t want to leave.”
Colvarinth eyed the water, debating whether or not she really wanted to go in. However Soranith seemed to be enjoying herself in the water and swimming seemed a bit more ideal then listening to the Weyrlings jabber on. I will join you, the water looks nice anyways. The way Colvarinth talked made it seem like she was doing everyone a favor when she agreed to something Faine had noted – she was curious as to whether or not the gold would grow out of it. You can join us for a swim also. Colvarinth stated as she turned her head, seeing Queroth in the corner of her eye. What an interesting looking dragon. Colvarinth knew there were mutants about – how could she not when her twin sister was one but she hadn’t really seen any so far. Was this dragon one?
“Are you sleeping?” Faine called out, completely oblivious to the ridiculousness of her statement. If the boy was sleeping then she was rudely waking him up.

Greetings, Queroth said, lifting his head in the same moment to look over at the green and the new queen. It is indeed. K'ris had opened one eye at the greetings from the green dragon as well. He'd heard the others on the beach, but with the echo of the not-mental voices on the rocks he hadn't realized they were so close. Queroth did enjoy meetings new dragons, as well as new people, but he was polite enough not to go over without being invited, and his bonded was also using him as a pillow. However, once the queen sent an invitation over and one of those factors was taken out, the hawk's eye turned his neck a bit to look down at his rider.
K'ris had closed his eyes already, very much enjoying the sun, and he opened one eye once more to look side-ways at Queroth when the queen had sent her invitation. He playfully narrowed his eye at his dragon, then nodded his head to the side in reply to his un-asked question and sat up quickly. "Oh fine," He said, though the 'annoyance' in his voice was just his usual sarcastic jest. "Go ahead and swim." As soon as K'ris had sat up Queroth had stood as well, stepping over K'ris and making his way eagerly towards and into the water. "I don't need a pillow anyway!" He called after the dragon.
K'ris watched his dragon go for a brief moment, then pulled himself to his feet, grabbed his shoes, and made his way towards the two girls. "I wasn't sleeping, just relaxing," he reassured Faine once he was close enough to talk without shouting. When he was a few feet away from them he sat down in the sand as well, dropping his shoes a bit behind him.

Soranith crooned at the Hawk's Eye as he enetered the water and she looked at Colvarinth expectantly, quickly turning back into the water. She dove deep before swimming back up just as quickly and she stretched her wings out just a bit before starting lazy circles around the water.
It has been awhile since I have bathed with friends. She noted as she continued her swim.
In the meantime, the dragons riders were happily lazing on the beach, Zorn and Rhythm flying about and chattering nonesense. All Relina could get from them were feelings of elation and the occasional word "happy" over and over. Tuning them out, Relina focused her attention back to the humans. Her eye twitched slightly at the appearence of K'ris. Would she ever get a chance to come here without someone sneaking up on her? Sighing, she let the thought pass out of her mind and raised her hand slightly in a rather pathetic greeting before turning her focus back to the queenrider. She smiled at Faine warmly when she said she didn't want to leave.
"Well, even if they do send you away, I won't let you go without me. I neither know nor care much for anyone else here and I`m fairly sure everyone else feels the same. Aside from my sister and that brown weyrling, you are the only person here whom I am truly concerned about, not that I wish ill-tidings on anyone else here." She explained. Yes, this girl was very important to her, regardless of whether or not she was a queenrider. She would feel just as protective even if Faine were the handler of a green wher and she herself rode a golden dragon. The fact that they both rode the magnificent dragons who protected Pern only strengthened Relina's feelings for the energetic redhead.
