Relaxing by the lake, Relina watched her critters at play. Soranith kept splashing Rhythm and Zorn and the three of them had a great time while Relina was content to watch.
Join us. Soranith offered, stopping to look at her rider. Rhythm and Zorn chittered and continued to roll around.
I think not. I am content to watch you here. Relina responded. Soranith sent her slightly annoyed thoughts before pulling herself out of the water.
I shall join you. She said, coming up next to her and laying down. Relina chuckled and laid back, resting her hand on Soranith as they both soaked up the afternoon sun.

On one of his daily trundles around the Weyr…Wonder what trundlebugs look like? He thought, his face crumpling into a frown. His mind once again, following its own random little flight path. They’re supposed to be big…and somehow very smelly. The females carry…or was it lead, their young? Finding himself more confused than before, the short lad hadn’t noticed he was heading straight for the lake. His mind too focused on creating a, (drum roll please!), blackened armoured Spiderclaw…crossed with a Wherry! Why a Wherry? He didn’t know, it sounded good at the time.
It wasn’t until the second step into the lake that he noticed the water creeping into his boots. “Shells…” He breathed loosing the metal image of his Sperry, or Wheclaw. “And I was just thinking I’d make a good beasthearder…” The boy grinned, large green eyes widening as he spotted the Firelizards. “Ooh…” He breathed. “They’re real pretties…” His voice chimed, ignoring his boots that were pooling happily. Turning round he spotted a girl and a green dragon, his eyes grew. “Shells…a beautiful green you have my lady,” The short lad added reverently with a bow.
Like his Sperry, bowing sounded like a good idea at the time. Well, until he nearly fell face first in the water…
With a broad grin, he dragged himself and his boots out of the shallows. “Sorry about this…” He smiled, pulling off his boots. “Was a bit busy woolgathering…” The lad chuckled, using one of the expressions he’d heard in one of the Northern gathers. “I was wondering what trundlebugs looked like so I…” Catching himself, he shook his head. “Father says, I shouldn’t waste the time of dragonriders or weyrfolk, especially when I’m thinking…” He grinned mimicking his fathers tone perfectly, whilst upending his boots. “I can make tall tales sound almost normal, especially when I‘m…woolgathering.” The curly haired lad chuckled, carrying his drenched boots away from the waters edge.
Suddenly he straightened and bowed again, once to the rider, then to the dragon. “I…uh, forgive me for my lack of manners,” He said suddenly his eyes wide, “I’m Klinorfin…a mouthful I know, so people call me Fin…I’m a Harper Apprentice…my father Journe…no Weyr Har…” Fin suddenly frowned, which title should come first? Looking to the rider, he bit his lip. He hadn’t been this confused in a while, didn’t help it was something important. “I think I know now…” The lad murmured softly before carefully clearing his throat. “Weyr Harper, Journeyman Klivin,” He announced proudly, before adding as a side note. “Does that sound right… Admin's Note:
”

“B-but I don’t want to disturb anyone.” The voice was light and sounded a little unsure of everything.
Rimith had her head bent down, Hasima’s hand in her mouth as she lightly pulled the girl towards the lake. If Rimith had been still a dragonet, the hand probably would have accidently been bitten off but now it was just cradled gently in her powerful jaws. No one will mind, the lake is for everyone. The yellow gently protested. Normally she wouldn’t be so pushy (This was, indeed, pushy for her) but Hasima had the tendency to hole herself up in their weyr and the dragon was determined to put a stop this. Plus you haven’t taken me to the lake for a long time.
Hasima blushed a violent red and looked at the ground; it was true, she couldn’t recall the last time Rimith had been at the lake with her. The dragon felt slightly bad for guilt tripping her rider into this but it seemed necessary. After a few moments they were at the lake’s shore and Rimith felt she could now drop Hasima’s hand without the girl going to hide back in the weyr. Rimith tilted her head at Soranith, Hello little one, I hope you and yours do not mind us joining you.
Rimith’s voice was tinged with some amusement when she called Soranith ‘Little one’. The yellow was tinier than a small-sized green. It was clear that Soranith would grow to be larger than her.
“Sorry for intruding, she really wanted to come down to the lake.” Hasima said softly with an unsure smile on her face as she quickly glanced at Relina and Klinorfin.

Relina looked at the babbly boy and huffed, unimpressed.
He is nice, tell him "thank you" for me mine. Soranith said, crooning at the boy's compliment.
"Soranith says thank you, now what are you babbling about?" Relina said snappishly. She was not interested in any pursuits and to get one as confusing as Fin was just insulting to her.
When Hasima and Rimith approached, Relina sighed even more.
Not at all, do you want to go into the water with me? Mine wishes to stay dry and I am left with no one to play with but the little ones. Soranith told Rimith excitedly. Relina inwardly groaned.
So much for getting some alone time. She thought as she turned to Hasima.
"I understand, my little dragon loves the lake with a passion. She cares for it so much, she may try to get it to catch her when she is old enough." Relina joked. Soranith paid no mind to her as she stood up and tried to lead Rimith to the water.

[I think I'll throw in another of my characters; he hasn't seen much rp time lately, and I just love his little green.
By the way, refresh my memory...were Relina and Soranith from the Hurricane hatching, or the one after that?]
Unintentionally 'joining the party', the weyrling V'ael and his felenic green, Aeydrith, were making their way towards the lake as well. V'ael had been looking forward to the sun, and maybe a bit of a swim as well. He'd grown up in a thick forest; there was water, but never a body of water quite this large. Aeydrith certainly didn't mind the idea of a swim, either.
Oh look, V'aelmine. There are others already at the lake, and some are already in the water. Do you think maybe they'd let us join them?
V'ael looked ahead at the weyrling, candidate, and full Rider already at the water's edge, and some already in the water. He smiled, thinking along the same lines as his dragonet. Aye, I sure hope so. Swimmin' alone isn't have as fun as with a group. When he got close enough, he raised a hand and waved, offering a smile at the same time. When he was closer still, he opened up for a greeting.
"Can' say I expected quite this many folks te be down by the lake, but I'm sure not one te complain about it." He gave another smile to the group already formed, looking over towards the lake. Aeydrith was already making her way towards the water. V'ael looked back to the others, beginning to take off his shoes as he spoke. "I hope ye don' mind if we join ye as well? Aeydith's been itchin' te get in the water all day, 'specially now that chores are done."
Hello to you, Soranith and Rimith. The little green, only about 10 feet at the shoulder by this point, sent to the two dragons already in the water. She wasn't about to wait for permission from the others on shore, and so made her way out into the lake even before V'ael had his shoes off.

(Relina and Soranith came after the hurricane. ^_^)
Delighted to have more company, Soranith welcomed Aeydith warmly.
And to you, Aeydith, wonderful day to swim! Soranith said, whipping her tail to splash her new companions thouroughly. She was enjoying herself completely, swimming and paying no mind to her rider or anything else around at the time. The crisp air around the lake filled her lungs as she came up to the surface over and over from continuous dives.

A dragon…crooned at me? Fin thought wide eyed, his face glowing in delight. “Your very welcome,” His voice chimed, bowing a second time. To think a dragon would do that…to me…shells! He breathed, the girls snap doing little to affect the stunned grin on his face. But after a while sense crept into his mind…as did his fathers words. Biting back a pout he schooled his expression and smiled. “Please forgive me…I didn’t mean to trouble you,” He explained, hoping he really hadn’t caused her any trouble. “Its just I’m new to the Weyr…and curious.” The short lad said softly, very curious. He added to himself, ears pricking at the sound of newcomers.
Setting his boots to one side, his green eyes widened at the sight of a dragon leading her rider! Was that normal behaviour…and what a pretty colour. He thought, stunned into silence. His eyes looking to the dragons, then the fire lizards, and back to the riders. Should I really be here…Is there a meeting…a lesson? He glanced around, shuffling his feet. Shells would they put up with him…a child who barely looked ten turns. Even if he ACTUALLY had eleven turns, nearly twelve!
As Hasima approached he suddenly realised he was frowning, “Forgive me!” He breathed suddenly bowing. This was no way a craftsman, let alone a mere apprentice treated a dragonrider! As he offered a second bow to Soranith, wow… He thought silently to himself admiring all the dragons. His eyes widening at Relina’s joke, now that’d be something. Whilst he was trying to imagine it, he nearly didn’t see another riders approach. Bowing to both rider and dragon again, he chanced a returning smile.
Eyes running to all three, he bit his lip before voicing. “I…um, do you mind If I…stay?” He asked quickly. Fin, despite appearing to be, wasn’t a Candidate. But he would really, really, really, enjoy the chance to meet people. And maybe swim. And maybe, maybe get the chance to meet the dragons. And maybe, maybe, maybe the fire lizards… A small voice added, as he looked up at them all with big green eyes.

I would love to go in the water. Rimith crooned softly to the green before using the tip of her snout to edge Hasima closer towards the group of people. Oh yes, the yellow was definitely determined to make the girl a little less introverted. Hasima didn’t have any firelizards so Rimith didn’t know what it was like to be stuck with the ‘little ones’. This was probably for the best, if Hasima had a female firelizard that had a flight? Chances were the girl would combust from embarrassment or something of the like.
Hasima blinked at the joke, not really understanding it at first. When she did though she grinned and laughed softly, the usual decibel she spoke with, “I get it. Oh, that’s funny. Rimith has been missing the lake; it’s been a while since we’ve come here.” She smiled to V’ael when he joined the group; it had been a while since she had seen him. Then again, it had been a while since she had really seen anyone – preferring to stay in the background and all. “I hope the chores haven’t been too hard.” She supplied, feeling obliged to reply to him in some sort of manner.
Oh hello Aeydith. I hope you and yours are well? The yellow replied before twisting her head to stare at the other boy. He seemed to be a rather chatty fellow and Rimith was slightly amused at the fact he had bowed when they made their arrival. She lowered her head, her eye churning a content green as she examined him. He’s funny, I like him. She declared to everyone before turning away and slinking into the water.
Hasima blinked and smiled as she made her point, “You like everyone.” Rimith snorted but couldn’t deny the fact. The girl turned her head back Fin, tilting it slightly to the side, “Of course you can stay. Or at least, I think you should.”

Oh yes, quite well. Aeydrith replied to the yellow. By now she'd fully immersed herself in the water, only deep enough so that her feet were still on the ground and the water was up to just under her head. She enjoyed water just as much as the other dragons, but the green was minorly suspicious enough of it to want to be able to stand.
V'ael smiled at the other boy's bow and greeting. He'd been used to some formality by being the son of the Master Vintyr back at his Hold, but the boy certainly looked more nervous than V'ael thought he should be. When Hasima replied to him, the former vintyr nodded in agreement. "Aye, stay if ye'd like. The more the merrier." He took off the outer later of his shirt, leaving on the khaki colored t-shirt he wore under it. He'd put on a pair of dark-brown cloth shorts before he'd come out, having anticipated the swim as soon as Aeydrith had mentioned the lake earlier that morning.
He made his way towards the water, starting to wade in, and then finally remembering to reply to Hasima. V'ael looked back over to her. "Not so hard, no," he replied. "Not any worse than Vintyr chores, at the least."
Once he was shin high, Aeydrith moved through the water towards her bonded. She'd watched Rimith when her and V'ael had been coming over; Aeydrith gently bit with just the front of her jaw onto the cloth of V'ael's shirt, playfully pulling him further until she was back to where the water reached just under her head. The boy laughed a bit, but didn't struggle. When they stopped he opted to rest his feet on Aeydrith's knee instead of treading water.

Relina rolled her eyes at Fin when he asked if he could stay and she sat down.
"Not my decision. This isn't my lake, so I don't care if you want to stay here or not. I was hoping I could be alone with my dragon and fire-lizards, but it was my own fault for picking the lake as the spot to do so." She said, yawning afterward. She started growing tired, and would have liked to take a nap, but she didn't think it would be a good idea.
I see no reason why you can't sleep, unless you want to swim with us? Soranith asked, persistant.
I dare not make myself vulnerable around strangers. She replied, slightly annoyed. Her own dragon couldn't tell that she did not like the company of others.
I already knew that! However, Soranith is with you, Relina is safe with Soranith, I will protect you. Soranith said, a little hurt. Relina's eyes opened wide and she looked toward her dragon.
I am sorry, my love. I did not mean to upset you. I know you would protect me if anything happened. Thank you. She said, regretting the fact that she just upset her dragon. She took a deep breath.
Swim with me? Soranith asked. Relina smirked at her dragon.
I cannot swim with you, I am not in proper attire for such an activity. She replied, looking down at her dress.
Then why not take it off? Soranith asked, not understanding how embarrassing such a request is. Relina turned to the lake, blushing. Feeling awkward. She looked back toward the lake and saw Soranith standing in the shallow water, who looked like she was not kidding. Relina then burst out laughing and grabbed her face. Confused, not understanding "nakedness", Soranith went back to swimming.
Aeydrith, Rimith, I do not understand. I asked my rider to shed her dress so she can come swim with me and she is laughing. I said something funny? She asked them, swimming in circles.

Hasima didn’t know any Vintyrs so she wasn’t quite sure what kind of chores they would have. “I’m glad to hear that.” She replied with a soft smile even though she still had no clue about the chores. She needed to say something back and that was really all she could think of at the time.
Unlike Relina, Hasima was wearing clothes that would be okay to swim in. Her usual attire consisted of slacks and tunic and they weren’t anything fancy – Hasima really didn’t own any fancy clothes at all – so they would be okay if they got wet. The yellowrider slowly moved towards the water, the liquid lapping at her ankles before gradually rising as she took moved further. “Oh! How are you not cold?” She asked with slight amazement, watching V’ael. He was rather deep now; surely he could feel the waters temperature!
Rimith bugled in amusement as Soranith asked her question but decided not to give some spiel about how it would be inappropriate or anything like that. Because the water is cold, she’d be freezing if she came in here without a dress. Rimith explained, her eyes whirling as she swam over to Hasima. The rider placed a hand on the yellows hide and allowed herself to be directed deeper and deeper into the lake.
You’ll get used to the lake temperature quickly. Rimith promised and it was true; already the lake’s water seemed to be a bit warmer.

Quelling her laughter, Relina shook her head and stretched.
I`m sorry for laughing at you Soranith, I promise, I will come swim with you some other time. Relina apologized to her dragon.
Ok. Was her response. She swam in circles and watched the other two dragons enjoy the water with their riders. When Rimith answered her question, she tilted her head.
Oh, that makes sense. Mine has promised to swim with me later, so it is ok. She replied happily to the yellow.
